Now the regions are available, there were a few places I wanted to return to, and this one popped up to the top of the list for a day trip on cup day.
Parked at Wirrawilla around 10am and it was a little busy - got one of the last obvious carparking spots (though when I returned from my circuit I found a number of extra cars had found various places such as "no standing (buses excepted)" to park in)
Nice walk up to Tanglefoot carpark on the myrtle gully track - muddy and lots of trees down but a really nice area to walk through, so serene with the sounds of water, birds and wind. Only one leech trying to drink my blood and managed to remove it before it got up my socks.
Found the cache with a little difficulty, started with wrong rock as there is only one obvious one now. Once I spotted others, I quickly found the cache. Logbook quite soggy (though writable), past logs suggest this has been a problem for a while, hence some Maintenance would be good. Hint is not quite right any more, but just as useful as if it was.
Thanks for the cache, particularly enjoyed the myrtle gully loop.

Spent a wonderful day with the 3 members of ILookedThere. Left Wang about 8.30 destined for Warrawilla rainforest walk. As Jodie pointed out in previous log, the walk we wanted was closed. The other walk was not ideal so we ventured on to our Caching. Yes, what magnificent specious of trees adorn the region here. Thanks to all CO's for placing the caches we enjoyed finding today. Some caches were truly water damaged and COs of those have been informed.
Out on a day trip with OzReg. We had plans on visiting the Wirrawilla Rainforest walk but it was closed so we decided to head down the road. Nice little campground. The trees were amazing! Cache was located, signed and replaced. TFTC.
Took a while to find, even with a previous finder helping. Very over grown and the hint doesn’t match anymore. TFTC.
On an adventure camping and a little bit of 4wding through toolangi with my new little 4wd and my muggle partner. The last of the day as we headed up the road to find a camp spot.
It is amazing how rich some people are?
Ferraris are made for the rich to park outside of shops in exclusive shopping area far away from the places that riff raff like the bananas usually go. They are usually not made to test the conditions of gravel mountain roads far away from their impressionable crowds.
And on top of this once this treasure (not of the same value as a Ferrari) was found, there would be so much dirt on your designer clothes and under your fingernails that you would not be allowed to drive that car to any public place, ever.
So the recommendation is. Bring the Rolls. People will understand.
Disclaimer: This was found without the help of any really, really rich people.

So in my continuing efforts to get fitter, I drove all the way here from West Melbourne to hopefully run the Tanglefoot Track. I made it the full approximately 19km in 2hrs and 46 minutes including time spent searching for a cache at the mid way point which unfortunately I didn't find. I also had to skip Emil loves Trees due to muggles loitering in the area. And I have to admit to walking most of the uphill parts of the track too.
As a reward for making it all the way back around again, I stopped and eventually found this cache. I think the trees interfere somewhat with my less-than-stellar iPhone GPS. Now for the long drive home again.
This is a beautiful area I plan to bring M back to for him to enjoy as well. Thanks for giving me a reason to travel this far.

We decided to go for a hike to try out some new gear and the Myrtle Gully track was perfect, around 10km return and nice and early to avoid the heat. This cache was near where we had parked the car and we made a quick find before heading off. Thanks, and great part of the world.

Logged on windy weekend. Got out of forest quick smart as trees started their mad dance.
Went for a walk in the toolangi region and it was super dry and dusty. Found this one alright after ducking away from a noisy family that had rocked up to the site. TFTC
No signal for me here so loaded info in advance. There was a noisy family that pulled up just as we did so we walked off quietly. TFTC

I headed out early today with SteMicMitSar to target a group of Letter box caches that were of particular interest to us. Quite a few campers here, in fact Steve had to park his car on the roadside. We made our way between a couple of tents and made a quick find. I've marked this campsite for future reference.

Today I headed out with biggles1024 in search of a few letterbox caches but there were a few others that we passed along the way, like this one.
We arrived at the car park and there were so many cars there we had to park out on the road, there was no room for any more, didn't expect that.
We made our way through the campers and on to GZ where after a short search the cache was spotted, we then entered from a different direction to retrieve the cache.

Arriving here late in the day, we had the place to our selves. I had no phone reception or co-ordinates so just going off Google Earth view and using my Geo-senses I hit the jackpot and located the cache. Very lucky. A fantastic place to start your Bush Walk. Grabbed the TB.
Thanks **Geodes**

Out for a drive in a beautiful area, not too far from home. Tall trees, fern gullies and babbling streams. Nature can be so peaceful at times. Highlight of our day was seeing about 6 wallabies crossing the road during our late afternoon travels back to the main road. Thanks Geodes for giving us another reason to enjoy this area. Cache in good condition and we left a TB to continue its travels.
This was a nice easy cache to find after only a very short walk from where we had parked. The cache itself was actually a bit out of place but everything was found to be in good condition. After signing duties were completed, all was returned to its proper place, Thanks go to Geodes for placing this cache in a lovely place to stop while travelling around the area on these forest roads.
Tftc and taking us to this place - a lovely drive, some walks and a nice day out. Tnln.
Quick find together with Parkermon. Recent storm damage has left the cache in the open, so re-hid it under some broken tree branches. Took a stone, left a clown fish. TFTC!
Happened to be in the area and picked up this quick one. Beautiful spot, can highly recommend the nearby Myrtle Gully loop.
A nice easy cache after an amazing walk through Tanglefoot. Absolutely beautiful. Shame no caches in the rainforrest itself. Thanks for placing this!
Came for a picnic at Tanglefoot, and stumbled across this cache. Beautiful day for it
Nice little stop on our way out of the reserve. Have ridden tanglefoot before I was wiser to the ways of caching. Nice to see it with new eyes.
Have spent heaps of time in the Tanglefoot/Toolangi area and was up here again walking around. Once back at the car I decided to give this one a go, saw exactly where I thought it would be, but was a bit apprehensive due to leeches (it was a very damp day and I had already removed about 20 from myself, including one from my top lip!). Decided to just dive straight on in, and found it! Didn't find anymore leeches though! TFTC!
Walked up from the Wirrawilla Rainforest car park via the Myrtle Gully Circuit track. Completed quite a few walks in the area but have never been to the Tanglefoot car park before. Beautiful scenery and sunny cool day... perfect walk... Tftc
A lovely day to go out walking in the hills. I picked this area as its not too far from home. Nice tracks and years since i have hiked around here. Thanks for all the caches around. Most were in good condition. Some flooded though i drained all the water and tried to dry the log books out. They all look like they will be fine. Cheers

Out on a caching run this morning. Found fairly easily. Walked past a couple of campers staying in a campervan having a peaceful breakfast in the sun. A nice spot to camp and walking trail that makes it worth revisiting. Thanks for bringing us here.

Out today on another sunny perfect day with icefoxy, this time exploring a region not yet visited. Always peaceful and fun exploring the back roads and old logging tracks in a car with terrible ground clearance.
This was the 3rd found today.
Great spot for an overnight camp spot. There was a couple like on that power add on TV (we pinch it...) enjoying a 2nd breakfast when we arrived.
Some careful ninja moves and the cache was quickly found, out of sight of the nearby muggles.
Thanks for bringing us here today.

Out this morning at silly o'clock with poptoppete doing a little hiking and light 4x4 driving. What a wonderful spot to escape, the views were fantastic, love looking down on clouds in the valleys, could just see the city at times and a few Roos/wallabies scampering around. Thanks for the adventure. Tftc Geodes

So awesome this area. Took at little to find this cache as the tall trees. Was taking me to a different collection but found after almost calling on hubby's assistance.
Sorry catching up on some old missed logs. Found this while out with Moosetash and Happy pants. Thanks for the cache Geodes.
Without geocaching we would never find these little gems tucked away from the unsuspecting public. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
Another easy walk to the gz today in a lovely area, found after a short search and logged with Happy feet and Moosetash. TFTC Geodes.
Today we explored Black Range State Park and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

In the area so headed for this one next. Parked in the carpark and walked up to GZ where the GPSr had me in a spot without any real hiding spots so had a look at the hint, looked in one spot, then another and the cache was then in hand. This one is in perfect condition, thank to geodes for this one, again a lovely spot.
Many thanks Clever Monkey - it was really nice of you to replace the container - you're a credit to the geocaching community .
I've a couple of other caches in the area that need a bit of maintenance too - I'm just looking forward to some milder weather before I head up there.

Out for the day with the whole family placing a few and finding a few caches we ended up down this end of the Black Range so decided to stop in on Tanglefoot. This area brings back a lot of memories from years gone by, blasting through the forest in the rally car. Today it was much quieter and we found a very wet foot in need of a pediatrist. Little Monkey was quick to point to that we had the same container in the car so we went to work replacing the cache container and adding a few silica packets and fresh swag to bring the cache back to it's former glory. Thanks Geodes for the cache and you can take the maintenance attribute off it's all fixed.
The lid is cracked, doesn't seal up 100%, and the cache was full of water when I found it.
Completed the Myrtle Gully circuit and found this on the way back to the car. The snow turned the track into a beautiful sight, with the bright sun shining through the trees, melting the snow and mist hanging over some parts of the walk. Just wonderful.
I went out this afternoon with Jai and Josh (Quinnies) to find a few caches. Jai found this one. Thanks for your help Jai. tftc.
Crusty.

These sort of places is the reason that I cache. What a beautiful park so quiet and peaceful except for the wildlife. A favourite point from me. SL
I had been out to find the "Mount Despair" Letterbox cache and I was now making my way back to "civilisation" at Toolangi. I had bypassed this and another couple of caches along Syliva Creek Road as I went in so I was stopping for them on the way out.
I was rather cold and raining so I just made a quick stop to find the cache and sign the log. I might come back in better weather to take the forest walks because the area looks wonderful.
Thanks Geodes for putting this cache here to highlight the area but I have to say that the road isn't quite suitable for your Ferrari anymore in one or two places...log trucks are using the road and are chopping it up.

The plans for the long weekend were changed due to fires where we intended to go, so we ended up checking out some of the tracks around here. We stopped here for lunch and I took the opportunity to grab this cache. Two bush walkers came out of the bush, while we were there, they were practicing for a longer walk in Tassie. The cache was an easy find. Thanks. Could the red on the trees be cinamon fungus??...
Out for some 4x4 in the area & thought i'd try my luck. This was my very first cache after recently finding out about it all. Thanks Geodes! TNLN.
Found while touring the area with Pprass, what a great area this was to visit, there were some bushes that had purple flowers all over them, not sure if these are native or weeds but they looked good to me, coords were spot on and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks Geodes for the cache.
Found at 10:51 AM GAFF1 in the company of Rebel Acts. No Ferarri today, but just a tiny Getz! This is such a contrast to the forest that we have been used to in the past 4 weeks while touring enzed. The bush there is quite thick and the main tree type is a forest beech - although from time to time you do see a eucalypt - don't know if they are natural or not.
So glad that the co-ords are accurate as compared to your neighbours caches
Thanks Geodes

I was travelling through the area today and was pleased to be able to find a few Geo caches on the way.
Of Interest – I have seen the red colour on the bark of trees before. I believe it’s caused by a species of terrestrial algae (alga Trentepohlia). It’s harmless to the tree as its just growing on the surface of the bark. It is often seen on plants lacking vigour.

Found at 18:13, after doing the Boroondara bushwalk out at Murrundindi. I've done the Tanglefoot walk before, along with Myrtle Gully (and a detour up to Mt Saint Leonard). It was a great walk, apart from being attacked by zillions of leaches. Still I'd highly recommend it, just don't go when its raining as that's when the leaches are out dancing. Alternatively apply some leach defence mechanisms. As for the Murrundindi walk, well the Wilhelmena Falls part of the walk seemed to be the more worthwhile section at the moment. Thanks for the cache!
Second for the day. Another spot I'm surprised I've never been to, especially considering I'm from around these parts TFTC! TNLN.
Had a lovely muddy walk - haven't been here for a few years, but it was lovely just the same. Good quick easy find. Thanks Geodes. We only had time to do this one so it was a bonus. TFTC
This beautiful and very much out of the way cache certainly deserves a lot more visitors than it gets! Drove up here on a sunny Tuesday afternoon after visiting a friend in Healesville, collecting many Geode's caches as I went. Poked around the area a little as well, will have to do some walking around here when I summon up the energy! TNLN TFTC
Found @ 09:35 after spending the night in the area. I had to resort to the hint as the GPSr just didn't want to settle. This is certainly a very pleasant area, made all the better with absolutely no-one else around.

I just said it was 15m away from where we were sitting and read her the clue.
Not very difficult when you consider I used the iPhone.
I couldn't even get the garmin loaded with the co-ordinates before she found it.
We have noticed a crack in the lid of the cache.

The road is now open. Locals have managed to raise the funds to have the issue heard in court, so an injunction against logging in the contentious coupes applies until the case is heard. Thankfully due to the Toolangi' residents actions only a small area of the proposed coupes was felled.
Sylvia Creek Rd is blocked south of here by police and they are breath testing all drivers and searching vehicles trying to head up. This will be in place until the end of August except on weekends. Access will need to be from the north. Suggest access from Monda Track and Hardy's Gully Rd.
Logging of a very contentious multi aged forest including old growth and also endangered species have been found in the area is happening and their is much local community opposition to it.
Still recommend this cache but not on weekdays and it is worth it on weekends so you can see the forests we are loosing. Less then 2000 hectares of pre 1939 Mountain Ash forests exists. The tallest plant in the world.

Found by Greg, T, L & M. Great spot, a little snow still about which made it all the more charming. Cache in good condition. TNLN TFTC.
I tried to approach this one from the south, after having done the two Monda caches. All was going well until the road ran out about 1km short! Arrrgh! A lovely picnic spot once I got there, and I am sure I have been there before too. The cache was an easy find once I got over my blindness. Thanks Geodes.
This cache really needs a warning about log truck traffic, they travel down the Sylvia at about 70kmh and are well known for swerving at people in cars. Part of a local campaign to keep tourist numbers down. Should be safe on sundays.
Quick find on the way to work up the nearby fire tower. I will be putting some more in this area, but with current logging plans there will be nothing left in about 3 years of the areas like this that weren't burnt in the fires.
