#19613 - 1:59:00 PM; Day six of a road trip taking the long way to Adelaide from the National Capital with the geohoney. Arrived in Adelaide last night and today we headed to Victor Harbour to visit the webcam cache and collect some newer caches on Granite Island. Managed to collect all three of the target caches, plus a couple of extras, including this one. I had the right idea, but had to change gears from high to low to get this one. After signing the log, the cache was returned as found. TFTC mogni Smile

In Victor to drop Sandyoftheseas bike into transition for tomorrows triathlon.Took a bit of time here. Walked the fence line, went into the car park below and walked the fence line. Back up top again with my head in the trees, we were in luck. One week on from SAs Leap Year MEGA Event and out caching again. This time around Aldinga/Willunga and anywhere else that looks interesting.mogni, I found Red Alert!!! today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi.
Was heading back to the accommodation for lunch and had to pass by this one so parked close by and started the search. GPS wanted me elsewhere but the cache notes said otherwise. Investigated several spots without result until finally found the cache in the logical spot. Signed the log and then replaced all as found. Now for lunch.

We are finally able to travel interstate without heaps of loops to jump through. We thought we would take it easy and have a look around South Australia and grab a few more LGA's while we were here.
Out for a morning run while staying at the nearby caravan park and throw a big hill in to boot. Well I made it to the top of the hill and began searching, eventually spotted it but i suspect it is not in its original location.

This was find number 6 for the day.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC mogni

So many of our caches today have been the first find for 2022 on them and we had to remember to do the year correctly. This one had us much further away from GZ than we should have been, not sure why as most of the others today the co ordinates and GPSr were in Sync. Ended up being logical about it and soon came up with a cache.
No Red Alerts today in fact all was very quiet around the station which was good seeming that it took us way longer than it should have to find the cache.
Soon we will be enjoying a Red Wine, thats our Segway from the cache name to anything in this log,
Red wine is a type of wine made from dark-colored grape varieties. The actual color of the wine can range from intense violet, typical of young wines, through to brick red for mature wines and brown for older red wines. The juice from most purple grapes is greenish-white, the red color coming from anthocyan pigments (also called anthocyanins) present in the skin of the grape; exceptions are the relatively uncommon teinturier varieties, which produce a red-colored juice. Much of the red-wine production process therefore involves extraction of color and flavor components from the grape skin. Red wine is a delicacy around the world.
Thanks mogni for maintaining this cache to keep it going. Found it, signed the log and replaced the cache as found. TNLN

What a lovely day for a drive with Purrfect Di ! Sun up, blue sky. We sadly got distracted by the views, and a garden centre Razz but still enjoyed finding a few caches, including yours WinkBig Grin

Most were easy to locate today and in good condition. This one took a few minutes as I cleaned away all the cobwebs... then went and looked in the right spot [:o)]

Many thanks to mogni for hiding this cache on our SA geo map game board Smile

---

Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck! WinkCoolBig Grin

Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]

Make sure Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on Big Grin

We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about especially away from the city crowds,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting Cool

After the seaside event I did a little tour of town to pick up a few caches. I have so many to find so another few trips back will be in order.
Also completed the 2 latest lab caches. All up just over 20 finds for the day, had planned on about 40 but there is always another day you can never get them all.
Day was topped off with a multi FTF also a quick stop by at the seaside event and a march around Granite Island with Allisterw.
Quick find here TFTC

Today, @jesswrigley and I headed to Victor Harbor and Port Elliott for a few reasons. The Tour Down Under was riding through this area in the afternoon, and there was the traditional Australia Day geocaching event down at Port Elliott. We used the opportunity to ride around the new *## is the new color* [sp.] series that had been published only 3-4 months previously. Also, I had wanted to return to Granite Island off Victor Harbor to finish finding a few geocaches that I had left on the east side of the island. It turned out to be a terrific day with nice weather, good company, and we finished off with a fish and chips dinner whilst driving home listening to the Triple J Hottest 100.

This had us looking for a good 10-15 min, primarily because the coordinates were out by so much. It turned out to be a logical hiding place in the end, but just didn't need the confusion! For us, the coordinates were out by 10-12 m, with my GPS indicating the cache at S 35° 33.012' E 138° 36.777'. Since majority of the logs have indicated inaccurate coordinates, then I think they really do need to be updated. Otherwise, a nice to place to stop off at for a cache. Once finally found, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks spuddymoore for this cache placement, and [@mogni](http://coord.info/PR1NT8Z) for its ongoing maintenance.
