I had planned on going to a different cache in a different area, but as soon as I turned on the car and the petrol light came on I had to think of a cache closer to a petrol station. This led me out here. So on the way to work I stopped by here. If I couldn't find this archived one, there was still the multi just 100m away. The clue clearly lead me to the fountain, from there I didn't know where to look. The back maintenance door had been ripped open and was full of garbage. I went around to the front and got my feet wet (not really as the fountain was empty, but would have if it were full) and spied a container through a crack. I went back round the back and one of the bits of garbage was actually the cache. It was soaked right through, but I managed to write my name on it. I re-placed it from the pond side, if anyone wants to get it (should be able to get from either side, but front a lot nicer). I then went past and quickly got the numbers needed for the multi on my way out.
Thanks for the birthday cache, very special indeed!

Not sure why the cache was Archived, but it was certainly there when Cookie and myself had a second look. The first time we hadn't looked hard enough.

2115 GAFF2 Didn't notice at the time that it was such an old Pocket Query that I was looking at in GSAK when I first had a look after getting the required info for Maitland Gaol. Bill Dary's comment about the pruning of the trees was the last entry that I had to look at, and that is certainly very true. So went and found that, and thought that we could have another look before leaving 'Dodge' to head either home or Newcastle.
While I was trying to get something relating to the title (shouldn't have), MVMB was also looking with his headlight and found it just as close to GZ as where I was looking - CLOSE! Dry and intact, and we didn't get our feet wet.
Another for the Night Caching elective book mark.
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aussie Nomad coin, Aust Light Houses, BEAGLE BIXBY, B 2 B ingot, BROWN BEAR 15 TB, Fishing Bell TB, Homer J TB, Iconic Bridges, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, PAP, RAINBOW BEARS 8 TB, Trakabulldog geocoins and trackable shirt.

This took some time, the GPS had me going around in circles for a while. But perseverance pays off and the little black box was found in the last possible hole.
A good hide and an interesting piece of history.

While searching some guards approached us..friendly though [^] They asked where we were from and what we were about to visit in Australia.

We were here last week and DNF but we came back today with a fully charged GPS.
I looked in the same spots as last week and all of a sudden it appeared out of no where.
It says magnet box but don't think its working.
Congratulations Morgan's you had us stumped for a while.

after failing at a find on this a few weeks ago, I felt some day light might show me where I had gone wrong last visit , with and extra pair of eyes from Geo Jnr we soon figured out the meaning of the clue and located the likely spot, alas a previous finder had rehidden our quary to well and new approach was required. repositioning my self 180 degrees from our intital approach worked well and the cache was recovered with out arrest, replaced in a more accessable manner but still well hidden.
Took a long while to find it, great hiding place and took a while to get the no wet feet quote.
tried to complete this as park and grab but the blighter was hidden to well, I think a return visit may be in order
took a while but we found it very clever hiding spot
very good idea for the clue no wet feet took a bit to get it but got it

Couldn't find this one, there was a lot of stuff in the pond so didn't investigation too closely but more than likely looking in the wrong area (was getting worn out from an afternoon of geocaching).
Would have been a nice feature in its day, but gone to rack and ruin now.

Though a light rain was falling for a lot of the day we still had a good day out and this was one of the caches we were able to find.
Thanks to morgans2320.

This was our 1st cache of the morning, arrived at Gz to find 2 cachers from Canberra having a look for this annoying little cache. Its always good to meet new cachers & swap a few stories.
The credit for this find went to Grim Rider, so this was one that didn't get away.
Thanks morgans2320

First find of a rainy day in Maitland. Were having some trouble with it until two cachers from Port Macquarie turned up and together we knocked this one off. Great to meet some fellow cachers and swap a few stories. Can't wait till GrimRaider and I can retire and cruise the country like DiMorgan. tftc morgans
First time we met other cachers on the job. Hope we get to find as many some day as DiMoran! TFTC and very glad we aren't on the other side of the fence! ??
Took a little while to find this one. Made it back to the office with a tell tale trail of burrs. Thanks Morgans
This one had us searching around and around for ages until stardancer83 spotted something. Thanks for the cache
After circling around the cache several times the penny dropped and it was in hand - tftc
Armed with the clue we approached the GZ with caution and after a shortish search had the cache in hand. Nice hide, TFTC.
Rounding up a few caches we have missed around Maitland and Bolwarra. This one was unecessarily elusive for a while because we twice looked at its hide without seeing it. Doh. While we we had it in our hands we placed a new log. Thanks Morgans2320
1050. Found on our way up to Maitland from Canberra for a wedding. I had some time while the girls were putting powder on their noses, so went for a quick stroll and a quick find. Returned later in the day with Relish64 and Chalk It Up for them to find it and a photo of the group caching in our wedding clobber.
Thanks morgans2320 for the cache.

Parking was scarce with a lot of visitors nearby, and I was concerned that searching right below the walls was not a really bright idea. However, we had no problems but the very well hidden cache put up a bit of a fight for a while. Thanks for a good hide.
Mrs GUIO liked the hide.
Simple but effective.
Didn't get wet feet either.

Certainly is a forgotten park, good to see geocaching bringing it peoples attention. Thanks again Morgans2320.
A day of caching with Dalsmit and TheHeadChef.
Certainly a forgotten little area. Maybe it was better maintained when the gaol was operating?
Cache found easily.

With Calypso62, Smurfyguy & DeveSteve in tow, this proved to be an easy find. Biggest problem was the attack by many large mozzies. As such, we signed the log, replaced the cache & left ASAP. Pity the area had not been landscaped. TFTC

A fairly easy find while grabbing some caches with Geotooter, Smurfyguy and DeveSteve. While signing the log we were attacked by quite large mozzies so quickly returned the cache and got out of there. I'm glad I never saw the inside of this establishment. It looks such a forbodding place. Thanks morgans2320 for hiding this cache.

A combined effort for a quick find. Strange little spot, it would nice if it was restored and the fountain running again.
Thanks morgans2320 .

Toriaz spotted the hide and one of the kids retrieved it. So nice and easy for me. Thanks
did not feel all that comfy here and the cache took 2 minutes for the prize to expose itself, thanx for showing us !
Nice quick find and not a single fish was harmed during the search for the cache TFTH.
Found on a round trip around the area today. Not a quick find here, had to go around a few times until I finally spotted it. TNLNSL TFTC,
