I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi barkingmadnz

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Found with Macyc95. Great area for a walk!

13-Feb-22
#953 very cool cache indeed! It was unopenable, but there is a little opening down the bottom, so I could extract the log that way. The log won't last much longer if people keep extracting it like that though. Worth a checkup, it was a great cache, and very clever. TFTC

13-Feb-22
Macyc95 found this one quickly but was tough to get it. It needs maintenance as the cover doesn't come off and the list is ripped

13-Feb-22
Unopenable, but log can still be extracted, for now.

22-Jan-22
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

22-Jan-22
Wow... That was a quick find and fail to open... Doesn't move a bit... Needs lubricant...

Thank you for the cache

My 1566. Smiley on the map

Found it! Pays to reread that description a few times!
Log book getting very old and in a few pieces now. Forgot to bring my pen to log my name. Whoops!

04-Jan-22
Tricky find but got it

31-Dec-21
Looking right at the cache.
Needed to read the description again.

26-Nov-21
When we walk our geohound he likes to eat caches. Luckily he didn't eat this one, and he didn't see on it either.
Log is getting full, and a bit tatty from being dragged out of the cache.

Got the details for the nearby Multi and waited out a yoga practicing person before approaching. Spotted the host and wiggles my finger to extract the tactile log. Signed and replaced same. T F T C bmnz.

A new day, and a new set of targets and goals to try and meet. I came out this way during the August lock-down last year and we did a few visual walk-pasts without touching or signing anything. Back today to make the finds and sign the logs. A few out Onepoto way, as well as some along the trails out towards Birkenhead and finished at the Sugar factory. Thanks to all COs for their hides and the fun.

I was out caching for the first 3 days of this week, racking up over 12kms walked on each of the three days, and getting healthy double-figure hauls in the process too. In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching is permitted but not events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. Looking right at it didn't see it. My typicAl style awesome camo tho it is rusty TFTC

16-Jun-21
This was such an amazing cache!!! The description was really helpful!! Cache did not open very well but I was able to grab the log through the bottom. Super lit S+C

07-May-21
Like previous finders I found the container but could not open the box to sign, needs lubricant

27-Feb-21
Huh, definitely not what I was expecting here! The subtle hint in the description assured me that I was in the right place, and from there retrieval was easy. TFTC!

05-Dec-20
Wow it scared me u fought it gonna zap me!

07-Nov-20
Came down today in an attempt to try an open the cache which I spotted on my first time. It turns out that the only way to open the cache was to rip the whole lid open! That's what I did and the mint tin inside soon appeared. If any future finders come to this one you need to rip open the box as that's the only way to get it open. The CO doesn't appear to be active anymore sadly.

01-Nov-20
Finally found this. The only way to get the mint tin was to smash the box! It fell apart and then i signed the log and could put the cache back together again! Also, the previous finder did not log this cache so technically they didnt find it. TFTC. This really needs some maintenance as I'm pretty sure smashing the box until it opened wasnt the intention of the hide!

11-Oct-20
I happened to be right in front of it when I read the description I looked down and found exactly what we were looking for this is some real good camo

07-Oct-20
No CRC sadly, so also could not access.

27-Sep-20
This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

26-Sep-20
Hello CO . . . . we came here today as Mum wanted to find some with more than 10 fav points. We found what we thought was the cache but it is rusted shut and we didn't have CRC in the car with us today. We didn't want to force it so we took a pic in the hope that we were in the right place.

26-Sep-20
We are here today after the Long Bay event to find some 10+ fav points caches. We are pretty sure we found the cache but due to rust cannot access. 2FLYTim did take a pic and we need to send it to confirm we were right. I think this one needs some maintenance.

08-Sep-20
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

06-Sep-20
This needs maintenance as I have been to this cache 5 times now and it turns out I have found it every time but can't open it. I am certain that this is the cache because I decided to stick my finger up the hole in the cache today and inside was a pen? Rust is the problem here.

11-Jul-20
Think we found it but couldn't open it?

21-Mar-20
So i found it, confirmed by smallpooka who was with me at the time and found it a while back... but think rust is causing issues... maybe needs some tlc?

05-Feb-20
We spotted this domain with a highly favourited cache on our way from Whitianga to Whangarei which involves obviously driving through the capital. We needed a picnic somewhere so this fitted the bill. Very nice cache, and we saw how the dog got his exercise as well.

05-Feb-20
Ooh! Thank goodness I had just read the description! gave us a good laugh. TFTC and an FP

05-Dec-19
In a caching drought so when I unexpectedly found myself nearby I just had to come and make a find. Love the camo. Thanks heaps barkingmadnz!

30-Nov-19
Great cache. Excellent disguise.

01-Nov-19
a nice day out and hardly anyone around, have seen similar so didn't take long to find, tftc

24-Aug-19
I was supposed to be studying for two tests that I have this week, but I allowed myself to come and find a cache or two while running a quick errand.

I had previously visited here during summer, but the place was overrun with muggles and I didn't want to risk it. I thought I spotted the hide, however it didn't look easy to extract.

Returned early before the muggles were out and about. Went straight up to what I thought was the cache, but couldn't open it. It took a bit of force but got there in the end.

Out in the North Shore area finding some caches for Mystery at the Museum. Love the camo. TFTC.

30-Jun-19
Cool cache. Great park for the kids. TFTC

27-Jun-19
Love the hint. An awesome cache that we enjoyed finding. A fav for sure
Thanks for placing the cache barkingmadnz.
Find number 4429.
Log signed b&p.

17-May-19
Very neatly done - all the hints are there for an immediate find.

04-May-19
Great cache! Looked in a spot nearby first, but after re-reading the description and checking co-ords, found it quickly. TFTC!

24-Mar-19
Saw that this one had a few favourite points so came along to take a look - read the description carefully and had a couple of thoughts about what to expect here. I have a greyhound who was with me today, fortunately he didn't take an interest in this particular area (although he did take an interest rather too close another cache in this park).

Once deciding what was the right spot had a poke about and eventually got inside to get to the logbook. Logbook was chocker full so I added a new logbook which should keep it going for a while. Thanks for the cache, all good here.

28-Jan-19
I’d thought I’d found the cache disguised as a pipe about 15 meters away! That was wrong I found out the hard way. Tftc!

18-Jan-19
Stop for a play at the swing. Thought we would check if a cache was around and soon had a find in our hands

07-Jan-19
Dnfd this a few years back due to muggle issues. Trying get our longest streak as a personal 2019 goal. So a quick stop after work no niggles or muggles and easy find. Great camo.
Tftc

03-Jan-19
Love this sort of out in the open cache. Tftc

11-Nov-18
Both geohounds were happy to visit this park and cache. Luckily no legs were raised here! Tftc

17-Oct-18
An easy find after dark...took me longer to wall from the locked gate than find the cache. Cheers.

17-Oct-18
Had been out here recently to do a reccie for work and not having too much time for a proper look didn't put in too much effort.

I was back today to complete the work and found GZ pleasantly quiet. I took a moment to survey my options and came up with something of interest. With a poke or two from various angles I was confident I was in the right spot. With a wiggle and a flick I confirmed my assumptions. Log might need replacing soon, otherwise all good here TFTC

27-May-18
Miss Four and I revisited this great cache while we're here today (complete with tents and scooters), in the rain, for her fifth birthday party. Thanks!

29-Apr-18
It was time to go and get a couple of caches so Sidewaze could claim the "100th" find of this CO. Even though it was fairly early Sunday morning there was quite a bit of activity in the park; rugby or football (didn't look closely) children in the playground, some dog walkers or dog carriers you could say, and people jogging.
No one took any notice of a couple of geocachers. Smile A clever hide - TFTC

29-Apr-18
A great hide, thanks, and thanks that I have now found 100 of your caches. The first 97 were found way back in June 2014, the last three this weekend. Cheers Big Grin.
PS we did see one person walking their dog - - - if walking along with your pooch in your arms counts as walking the dog Big Grin.

25-Apr-18
Found thanks to reading the description. Lovely morning with the kids at this park walking the track and bike riding. Thanks.

04-Apr-18
On the way to work so made a detour to come and find this cache.

Loved the location, and with the help of the hint/description, was soon retrieving the log Big Grin

Thanks barkingmadnz for the hide and bringing me here.

02-Apr-18
Just brilliant - that's worth a favourite.

01-Apr-18
7yo found it! Looks much more dangerous than it is!

17-Mar-18
Great find while in the area. Happy St. Patrick's day with bit of geocaching.

03-Mar-18
Bit scary but didnt want to give up.

24-Feb-18
GZ was very busy today as there was a fairy birthday party going on in the hall so many children were running back and forth.
Fortunately we managed to make the find between stampedes unbeknownst to the muggles. A previous log helped a lot.
We uplifted the trackable to continue its journey before heading over to buy an Ice Cream from the nearby Mr Whippy Van. TFTC.

25-Jan-18
Out with the boy and jak the geo dog.
Dropped of a trackable

06-Jan-18
Ha! Great find!!

05-Jan-18
TFTF. Great idea for hiding

02-Jan-18
Husband and 7 year old found it. I thought it was something electrical and was too scared to touch it.

01-Jan-18
Nice one

19-Dec-17
Took me awhile bit got there in the end. Thanks for the great hunt.

18-Dec-17
#4991. Up in Auckland on holiday for a few days staying with family. Decided today would be the day I would crack 5000 cache finds and headed over to the North Shore to locate 21 caches. The weather almost upset the mission with several heavy showers falling through the day and some thunder. Also traffic was busier than expected and those yellow lines on the road side did not help me with parking close to caches. But got there in the end. Parked nearby to this one and headed over to the GZ. For once I read the description while in the field and knew immediately what I would be looking for. That looks promising and sure enough there is the cache. Very well done and clever camo. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the cache barkingmadnz.

14-Dec-17
Love the hide! Fav point from us. Considering it hadn't been found in so long we thought it gone, but nope there and log nice and dry. Great hide!

31-Aug-17
Wow what a cool hide. I've been here before but today its just getting dark and muggle traffic is light. Didn't take me long to spot something of interest but still needed a small TOTT to confirm my suspicion. Awsome hide that has lasted well. TFTC

11-Aug-17
Spent the arvo hunting with my girlfriend hit this before we went home. Clever hidingspot, staring right at it for a solid 10 minutes. Found original log book while searching have put it back in container tftc

06-Aug-17
Awesome hide

05-Aug-17
A very cool cache! Luckily no muggles around this time.

30-Jul-17
Great wee find while we were at the park with friends. Found a tin and pen but no log. Didn't have a replacement sheet on me so used a receipt from my friends wallet. Tftc

16-Jul-17
First for today. That obviously did not belong there. TFTC. Fav point from us for something different

05-Jun-17
Very cool hiding spot. Had to take a leap of faith on this one. Sometimes I wonder how some caches can last so long without getting discovered as fakes... well done!

05-Jun-17
One of my favourite camos so far. Knew that was it as soon as I so it. Was a bit hesitant to open it but knew it was a dud from working in the maintenance industry. Took a while with all the muggles though. Tftc! Smile

05-Jun-17
Cache looks legit! Quick find while kids had a play. TFTC #250

05-Jun-17
I must slowly be getting better at this as I got to the right spot pretty quickly. I'm still a bit of a scaredy cat attempting to open caches like this so had to interrupt my husband, who was helping the kids with their bike riding, to open it. Better him get it wrong than me!!

09-May-17
Awesome hide took us ages but was worth it. Love the camo and clever write up

08-May-17
Thanks for the placement. Very well done

02-May-17
Nicely done! Thanks barkingmadnz

01-May-17
B suggested and I disregarded the cache. He took a closer look and revealed the treasure! TFTC

27-Apr-17
Took me longer than it should of to spot this one! Thanks.

26-Apr-17
Wow, it was super busy here today, lots of families making the most of the fabulous autumn weather we were having. A family was playing cricket nearby so I thought I might not be able to get the cache, but after seeing they were too absorbed in their game I snuck in and had no trouble opening the box and retrieved the cache. The log book was full so I added a new log in a plastic bag.

Very very clever, would have never have gone there

08-Apr-17
I found the cache easily enough but I'll be damned if I could get it open! So without wanting to wreck the thing, I just took a foto, happy to share it with the C.O if requested. Heaps of parents with their kiddies about today, but I seemed to be completely oblivious to them all though, nice to have some warm weather for a change.

18-Mar-17
Nice little box

28-Jan-17
Wow this was really well hidden! TFTC!!

16-Jan-17

22-Dec-16
out with 10centnz for the day, guessed what we were looking for upon arrival at GZ spotted the likley caracter straight away and yes it was great job, log very over full only just squezed names on there, tftc

21-Dec-16
Out with Lokky1 for the morning. Quickly spotted by lokky. Just far enough away from the busy playground to not be noticed!! Log is very full.

18-Dec-16
Realised early on Sunday evening that the gggadget team hadn't done any caching this weekend! Oh no what should we do - ah yes how about that cache at Onepoto Domain that should be easy to find without all the muggles around. And low and behold it was quickly spotted.

26-Nov-16
Busy place but managed to retrieve the cache without being noticed. Clever hide. TFTC

22-Nov-16
Amazing find. Tftc. Great hiding spot. #xboxone.
