It was good to see that all the scaffolding has come down from the Big Buddha since I was last here a couple of years back, but disappointing that there is still much to be done before the complex is complete.
We were able to drive all the way to GZ and I saw the cache as soon as I got out the car so this turned out to be a simple park & grab. Thank you wollepatong, for placing this cache close to such an important Phuket landmark.

What an amazing structure! Fantastic drive up the hill as well. I had my driver pull over whilst I headed up the old raod and found the cache.
This evening we took a cab up to Big Buddha for sunset and our 3rd Thai cache. We saw a baby elephant on the way up on the side of the road! The Buddha was very cool and we scored a lovely afternoon to be up there. Got lots of great shots and saw the sun start to set. We left Buddha with just enough time to make the cache by dark. Our cabby was even nice enough to park nearby and we ran a little back up the hill for the quick grab. Got a TB to take back to Australia with us
Cheers from Sydney, Australia!

Woohoo!!! A very happy geocacher today as this is my first ever international geocache.
We were out on a tour through the wonderful island of Phuket. As we bush bashed around, I kept an eye on the GPSr in case we came close to any caches. On the way up the hill to the amazing Big Buddha of Phuket, I saw the numbers drop dramatically so knew that we were really close to this one. I told out tour guide that on the way back down we would be stopping here. He was not fazed as it was a private tour.
After enjoying the sights from on high, I directed the driver to stop and my borther-in-law, the guide and I walked the few metres up the dirt track. The GPSr got down to 0m but there was no cache, a read of the hint showed me where to go and I happily signed my name to the log
Thanks for the cache wollepatong
left three travellers for others to enjoy
Cheers

Stopped here with Dokes after a visit to the impressive Buddha and the lovely vista from GZ. A fairly quick find for geokid7. We dropped off 1 TB and picked up 2. TFTC!
Yes an easy find, just on dusk made it a bit harder. Just as we rehid the cache a new group of cachers appeared.good to me fellow cachers-unfortunately I did not have time to hang around and talk-I did not even get their name, sorry about that, a bit rude I know.

Man, this is the biggest Buddah we have ever seen, the view is good too! In GC Out GC
Nice and easy find great location the view was amazing, Left travel Bug UNDBFF, and took Geo coin.
Nice easy find, very cool, personally I think they should create more of these areas/monuments, especially in the western world.
Thanks for making sure I visited the big man over watching my holiday.

Stopped by on our way back down from visiting the Big Buddha itself. A very inspiring project, amazing vision - and the view to match. The view from this spot we would not have seen if it were not for this cache. Thanks. Left dawn ho TB - last stop was New Zealand.
Hot day out seeing how the work is going on with the building Buddha. Found this last time here at old hide. A quick find just to drop TB to help it to its goal. SL grabbed snow white.
This was a very hurried visit, as we had to break away from a large tour group to quickly find the cache! We found it easily after reading the hint, previous logs and peeking at the spoiler photos, although the 300m walk back up the hill was a killer in the Thai heat. We also made sure to hide it again really well, as we'd love to see this fantastic cache exist for a very long time to come. Dropped off three travellers we retrieved in transit through Melbourne, Australia and picked up three new travellers to help on their way. Also signed log. TFTC!
