Too smart for me. Saw several options for the hint but no cache under any of them. Very busy here also with works on the power system. Oh well, maybe another time.
Nice quick find. Took the back way home today. Ended up stopping for our picnic lunch and the kids had a play.
Found with on this beautiful day quick search around and it wasn't long before we spotted the cache Thank you for the cache
A quick find with Tregearp after visiting the local market this morning. All in good order. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks K.E. for another cache.
SJT_NZ had a few things to pick up from the local farmers market so with rain coming our way we decided to head over the hill to some rain as well but pick up a few caches on the way towards the big peak. This was a quick find and all in good order. Thanks KE for the cache.
It took me a while to locate this one.
I am being taxi Mum for my son and daughter in law for the Heaphy Track and finding a few geocaches. I stayed in Motueka today and will drive over the hill to stay in Takaka today. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer for creating this hide. It was find 9669 for me.

Just about left but decided to have another look, with success.
Found as we moved from Motueka into Golden Bay. The weather has been the best since we left Christchurch.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Yes we also came down here looking to see what the 'GARDEN' signs were all about, but ended up grabbing some caches instead! Tftc
This was one of our targeted caches today as it had a placed date that we required on our calendar. Checked a few places then tried another and there it was. All signed off and hidden away again. tftc
We were heading to Golden Bay for an extra long long weekend with our grandparents. It was dark when we were here but with the help of the headlights Diaz09 made a quick find. We will have to come back again in the daylight to have a look around. Thanks for placing this cache

There must be a very proud and vibrant community around here to keep this hall and grounds so well maintained.
I can think of several similar halls around the top of the south that have not fared nearly so well.
My choice of entry location meant I had a short wander through the grounds - finding the hall in use as I went - before homing in on the GZ.
Not to knot I first found, but an obvious second guess.
Thanks

Dark now, at the end of a long day. Overshot the hall in the dark, then found the cache by torchlight thanks to the good hint. Was planning on trying the nearby multis, but too dark, and still have a 90 minute drive home
The Seagnoid, Zara and I are off for an adventure to Golden Bay. The Seagnoid is navigator and Zara and I pair up getting us from A to B?? Our ramble starts in East Takaka road.
OK a bunny hop up the road to this hall and a quick find and tag here. Cheers

Tayubeedragon and I are on a three day caching spree in Golden Bay over Queen's Birthday weekend. I suggested we start with this, the East Takaka Road, which I have travelled before and quite enjoyed. And so we find ourselves here. At first I thought this was a school, due to the playground, but no. I guess this place gets a lot of use, but not this early on a Saturday morning!
It's always wonderful to find rural community halls so well looked after. This one was no exception. It's obviously valued as an asset to the area.
It didn't take long to find the cache and we were soon on our way again.
Thank you Kiwi Explorer.

What a wonderful old building we found at GZ. A credit to the local community past and present. We felt a bit out of place with more traffic passing than you would expect here but the find was fast and formalities done without being suspicious. Thank you Kiwi Explorer
Out with Sidewaze of a caching day in Golden Bay. its great that these old places are so cared for. This one was a very pleasant spot. TFTC Mr Kiwi-Explorer.
We have been here to Motor home rallies , always a nice quiet restfull place to visit. TFTC
The bulls in the paddock on the other side of the road had their eye on me, so I was quite happy to be in and out nice and quick. The last time I was in the bay was back in February, and we were at this hall for a birthday afternoon tea, I was up to a streak of a bout 60 or 70 days at that point, and was looking to keep it going, but got quite busy and missed out. Realising afterwards that there was a cache at the front gate to this hall really added insult to the injury of me losing my streak... oh well I am back up to about 90 days now, so... life goes on. TFTC (2024)
#9283. The couple doing the lawn mowing were interesting to talk to. In the end we decided there was no harm them knowing about the cache (in fact it was probably a good idea seeing they did the lawn mowing), so I asked the chap if he could move over a little so I could find the cache. There are quite a few facilities in East Takaka; I wonder how big the settlement was in its heyday. TFTC.
As it wasn't far away, StreetWalker walked to this cache after finding "Meet me by the backdoor?" while I went back to the car and drove. When I pulled up near GZ, I saw a woman on a ride on mower in the hall grounds. Darn, so consulted the hint. Double darn. Looks like we may not be able to look for the cache without being noticed.
Noticed a man near the entrance gate so went over to talk to him. Turned out he was the lawn mower of the church grounds and he was training his wife on how to use the ride on mower - but the cemetery was too tricky for a learner so he did it himself .
He was very interesting to talk to, and we decided to tell him about geocaching, so SW found the cache and showed it to him. He seemed quite happy about it being there.
Another nicely kept historic building and well worth a cache placement and a visit. TFTC.

On a geocaching holiday with tmann421. Exploring the area, lots of amazing places, views and caches. Thanks to all the CO's for making this such a memorable holiday.
Good find here.

Nice quick find at the hall The church down the road is worth a visit - dates back to 1868 - also the adjacent plaque/info board on the Baigent Tramway.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found on a day's exploration around the region, letting the geocaches lead me to all the interesting places. I had unfinished business with this cache, I had come here some time ago on a previous visit to the area and hadn't found it. The GPSr was still leading me to the same wrong place as it was last time but this time I ignored it and hunted in a different area. I then spotted the tell-tale signs and found the cache quite quickly. Signed log, TFTC
Was in the area for a Speleological Society AGM, but had some time to bag few caches.
No problems spotting this one it was practically out in the open. Returned to where it should be.

Having a couple of days in the Bay caching. I used to stay with friends up in this area many moons ago. Nice to be back. TFTC
Lovely spot. Good to see such a well looked after old building. Thanks for encouraging us to stop here.
Nice little place and no-one around to interfer. We appreciated the double meaning of the hint. Tftc!
We made a quick side trip this afternoon. Well looked after grounds look stunning.

What a lovely and well maintained country hall. A favourite for me - thanks for pointing it out. TFTC #3270
Last cache of the day and after doing a walk into Rawhiti Cave we just loved the walk to this one TFTC
Fumbled for awhile where my toy said to look. Had lat/long only. No clue/info or anything, wasn't expecting to be there. (one day I'll be a premium user!:/) Pulled pin after fruitless suspicious loitering. Will maybe work it into a cunning many cached plan which begins at the top of the hill on a mountain bike .
I had to change my plans this morning as I couldn’t get up to Rawhiti Cave because the road was blocked by a very large slip. This was the next closest so paid a visit.Wan't quite where the GPS was pointing me but not too far away. A lovely spot with a beautifully maintained hall, was this a school in past times. TNLN SL TFTC
PB looked for this for ages while Annie took photos, then we both had a bit more of a look, but no success today. Our second DNF in a row.
Arrived to find a wood pigeon happily guarding the premises. We enjoyed a brief wander around the grounds before collecting the cache. Thanks
Nice One!!!!!!!!!Really enjoyed the cache site and surrounding area. Tear up the tarseal, put back the shingle and we can go back quite a number of decades. We have a neighbour that lived in Pohara and drove the shingle road to hold services in the old church. Quite a scarry drive in the Winter. Many New Zealand early settlers are buried in the cemetery. Very much worth a visit. This is what caching should be all about. Thanks
Never been down this road before. Was a nice community hall. Hope they use this often. Would be a shame to waste such a lovely asset. Thanks for the cache
6816 Quick find at a nice hall, after spending a couple hours at Anatoki Salmon… both Mrs and Mini YuGeo caught a salmon each… later we all enjoyed a nice sashimi dinner in Mot… can’t get fresher than that…. Next time we will sample the King variety, MTFTC.
Last cache for the day in the Bay (but not quite the last cache of the day) Good spot for a cache along the 'alternative route' to Highway 60. I did turn back to the main road though as I have experienced the conditions further along the road before. TFTC, Biggles.
A worthwhile deviation for this cycle tourist. Great park and had a look at cemetery - spotted some names that may well be distant relatives.
a slight diversion before nipping round to the people we had to see. Had to be careful, as picnicers were making use of the grounds.
Quick find in a lovely spot, first time i have driven this road so thanks for bringing us here on our way to Pohara.TFTC
nice hide we never notice this hall before when we had been down this road before tftc
Nice hide in a nice place. Out for an FTF night run with the cache owner and suddenly realised that if I did one more I would meet one of my own challenge cache requirements, so a detour past this cache was suggested. This way does almost seem like a short cut! TFTC.
First of the day = have been to a cache down this road before and actually quite enjoy coming this way - hadnt really noticed the Hall last time through it is a neat old time hall and obviously well loved and looked after - a quick find signed log Stretch0 dropped in Geocoin and I used amenities !!!! lol thanks for the cache and bringing us down this road again
Another afternoon for caching and we decided to go over the hill. Had watched this one after it was put in and even with travelling the road before i couldnt place the hall. After a few checks around found the cache and signed log.TFTC
Travelling towards Golden Bay this morning we remembered that 'East Takaka' had been published earlier in the week. Checked the listing and saw that it remained unlogged. Kiwicouple can't go past a First To Find oportunity, so of course we turned off the highway onto the tiny gravel road. A nervous 6 or so kms later (lovely valley views though) we reached East Takaka and a tarsealed road. Would recommend taking the sealed option from the Takaka end!!!
Pulled up at the lovely historic Hall to see a number of vehicles and a marquee, and people preparing for some function. No way were we leaving without the cache after travelling that road! Sat in the camper and checked the GPS - only 6m away! And away from muggle eyes. Spotted the hide immediately, and signed the log at 2pm.
Our first Tasman FTF . Thanks for the adventure!
Swapped geocoins, and Kiwicouple's First To Find geocoin visited.
