TFTC! Collected it while doing some weed control work in the area, always makes the work day more fun!
A nice quick find on a great track. Lovely views. Getting to Butterfly Creek picnic area seemed very quick starting from this entrance. The cache is in good condition, all nice and dry inside, TFTC
Very cute log book. Cosy and dry in spite of the recent rain. Steep short walk up. Fab view back over the treetops. TFTC
TwigNZ needs a cache today, I need two. And I also need an allen key, so that's why we are down this way. After a quick stop at Bunnings before they close we headed off to collect a couple of DNFS then came up this way hoping for at least one cache. Yay! This was an easy find by Twig, today his cellphone was performing better than mine. But I wanted two caches today, so we carried on up the hill.
I'm almost up to 3 figures in my daily streak, which whilst no great feat for most is something I never thought I'd get close to. But I still need a cache for today and the Seagnoid told me he needed two, so we teamed up to go hunting for easy prey in Eastbourne...
But after two DNF's, and the light beginning to fade, we had to adjust our strategy and decided to look for a puzzle cache I had solved a long time ago, which would also take up right past this cache as a bonus.
My phone took me straight to it where I made an immediate find. I had a bit of a chuckle at the logbook, and enjoyed the views available from this location. Thank you for placing this cache and keeping my streak going.

#10,252. I decided today to tackle the tail section of the ACoIaF series and so asked some friends if they wanted to join in the hike. Infoferret took up the challenge and so we agreed to head off early for a big day out. And big it was too with an exhausting 33,000 steps worth of hiking. Lots of off track rough travel, very steep hill climbing up and down in this area and numerous stream crossings. Two years ago it would have been fine but post-COVID my fitness has plunged so its getting tougher on the body to do these types of hikes. I clearly need to do a lot more to rebuild up my fitness.
Anyway we parked at Kowhai Street at 8am and started heading up hill. The first group of muggles we passed looked familiar. Running downhill was COVID19 royalty - Dr Ashley Bloomfield out for his morning exercise. Onward and upward and soon we were at GZ. A read of the hint and the cache was quickly in hand. Obviously gets a few finds from muggles judging by the log entries. Otherwise its all good here. Signed the log and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Paua Rangers for hiding it here so long ago.
This is my last cache to find in the Curse of the First to Find series. My first was way back in Oct 2014. Have enjoyed the places it took us. My only misses were two caches I searched for but they had gone missing and the owner chose to archive them rather than replace.

Found this a while back with my friends it was the first geocache I have ever found
Found it, signed the log and left a cool rope shackle in the container. Super fun for the kids & adults. Thanks!
Only took me 10 years to get round to doing this one!
Spur of the moment decision to do it after having some time to spare before the ferry after doing some other caching in the area. And a very pleasant ferry trip it was back on a beautiful day.
I was 3TF on the first one in the series (so escaped being cursed) but still have not done them all, and some of the series have been archived.
A quick easy find.
A nice note in the cache from three people who said they they were having some fun, if they are not already cachers I hope they had enough fun to persuade them to join us!
TFTC.

Found out with TharntheHalken on Xmas afternoon. A short steep haul up to GZ. Quick find as per hint. Tftc!
Missed it going up as concentrating on climb. Got it coming down. Nice views from here.
Yay! Found it. Would have found it faster if I just followed the pin lol. Great walk to do the whole track. TFTC
Nice quick find thanks to the hint. Onward and upwards after this one on our walk around to the bus depot.
Lovely location with excellent views. Found trackable CBRMN2 and took it. Will leave somewhere on my travels in NZ or Australia
A short sharp climb was the order of the day and this was on a route I hadn't been up before, Inevitably I stopped at the wrong switchback and wonder what was up with the coords but when I checked the hint that confirmed I hadn't actually got to GZ yet. A quick find once I was in the right place. TFTC.
What a great walk today.
Fresh air, blue sky and nice nature.
Found it fast and dropped one of my woodCoins.

Decided to have a go at this one today and from the GZ the view was really good. Thanks CO for the cache.
Lovely view here had fun finding it it took 20 mins and we walked past it about 3 times
A quick find on the way down, but had to take photo log since there is no log in the cache
A visit to New Zealand for friends 25th wedding anniversary and a chance to get some Geocaching done. When we were here for their wedding the hobby had not been thought of yet.
Today was to be a gentle walk somewhere. Butterfly creek was suggested, sounds good.
Not a gentle walk though and after a climb we had bagged the two caches there and decided to head back into town for some lunch and a nearby cache at the monument.
All signed as Steve73306 and all in good order.
Thanks to Paua Rangers for setting and maintaining this cache and to all other owners for setting and maintaining theirs.
My find number 6397 to date Happy caching everyone

Out for a quick walk out to Eastbourne and back today, finding a few odd caches en route. Very hot heading up here but no problems finding cache, tftc!
Good "Loop" walk taking in GC2M787,GC33F4Z and GC50KFY. Plenty of variety and interest. TFTC.
A cool and cloudy evening in Muritai. I came up here by the light on my mobile phone. It was kind of fun searching in the dark.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry. I like the butterfly notebook!
Thank you

Found on a club moonlight walk to Butterfly Creek. A cloudy evening but the views of Wellington and the Hutt Valley were wonderful. TFTC
Quick spot on the way up the track beaut walk will definitely be back when we visit wgtn again.-
Very pleased to get a fine break to grab this find as the weather has been very wet and windy. Keen to carry on the walk but bext shower arriving. Tftc I will return
Tftc. Nice day for a walk. Our GPS off by about 7m, but looked like a good spot to our geocaching eyes.
A good excuse for a short break on our way up the hill - quick find on a lovely day. tftc
Great hint — fast find. Logbook appropriate… so's the rubber duckie given it's just started raining! TFTC.
Another of the curses partly lifted. Nice walk up the hill and a quick find. Loved the log book. Fits in nicely with the area. Thanks for the cache.
Out caching with Adventurebear007 and Beanadventures - walking the Bus Track and wishing there was a bus for the steep bits! TFTC
(Sorry for the late log, I've just realised I've missed logging a few).

Found this one the way back from Butterfly Creek - taking the long way round on the Bus Track. I'd forgotten how steep it was! A quick find then a race down the hill for fish and chips! TFTC.
Found with Geokitten007 and Beanadventures.
