Had this on our to do list but as we got here realised we were one day too late .
Looks like a nice spot for lunch! Bummer it’s been archived but thanks for bringing us here anyway

Cache maintenance check today - we couldn't find the cache. If it is there, someone has tossed it in, out of reach. It's been 10 years.... have decided to archive.
We solved the puzzle but had no luck in finding the cache itself. Neither did the CO, who kindly checked on our behalf, before deciding to retire the cache. TFTC, and hopefully we can chase down the next one!
This was a fun puzzle to solve and it was one of many for which I wanted to find the caches when visiting Tauranga. It was threatening to rain when I parked so I was thankful I didn't need to walk far. The not so good weather also meant no muggles were around so I could search in peace. I didn't need long; the cache was exactly where I expected it to be.
New Zealand entered Level 2 (Covid-19) on Thursday 15 May 2020, and it is now considered safe to resume geocaching in New Zealand. Wishing you all happy & safe geocaching.
Covid-19: have decided to disable our caches until it is safe to resume geocaching.
My older kids and I love crosswords as does my Mother and Grandmother. I often visit my Grandma on a Sunday afternoon and finish the crossword together. My Mother and I are trying criptic crosswords which are hard but very satisfying when you work one out. Two of my sons have taken up online crosswords but I usually stop at my inlaws on the way down and grab all the puzzle pages out of her newspapers on the way to visit them.
Thanks for your crossword puzzle and cache
Thanks for your crossword puzzle and cache
Solved this one quite a while ago and never quite got here on 2 previous trips to the area. We happened to be going by this time and had time to stop but immediately noticed the tide was up and cache was not accessible from where we were. We pulled away thinking this would have to wait for another visit when Mrs B spotted another access point and we made our way around a corner to find we were very close to where we needed to be. Still had to remove the shoes and socks to get to the cache but no problems from here. Cache is in good condition, TFTC.
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
We quickly solved this cache as we were freedom camping at a nearby park and made it our first cache of the morning. Thank you for the cache.
Having set up the van for the evening we went for a walk and grabbed a few caches. This puzzle we had worked out during our meal and so set off for GZ as the first to be found this evening. At GZ there were several people in the area but not right by the cache fortunately and we were lucky with a quick find too.

We were out and about collecting mystery caches today. We got a park close to this one and found it quickly with the hint. It was a nice, tidy cache with some interesting items inside. A cool area and hiding spot. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Another puzzle solved by Khonig a while ago. Great clue and good coordinates led us right to where we need to be. Love all the 'blue' swaps! TFTC
We had a puzzle solving night a few months ago, ready for our week at the Mount. So on our last day in the area we went out to grab a few more. Had another GPS fail but luckily navigated old school with the phone. The cache was definitely themed towards the title, everything in good nick, thanks
Fun mystery cache! We solved a couple during the week before we made the trip down here. Glad to be able to get some of them. Cache is in great condition. Tftc
A fairly easy puzzle which was nice as it has been a while since we cracked one. Easy find once we got to the GZ
Just happened to go down at low tide, even it was not, water won't be deep. This was my first cache.
Getting into the puzzles so this was a great one for me. Love the placement. ....what a beautiful area. Dream houses tftc
Solved back home in Auckland and came down to get this one today as I was in town for a spot of work. Nice and easy little puzzle to solve which I liked and then enjoyed the in theme cache. Alas my caching bag got swiped on this trip so I was not able to drop any swag - a pity because I would have had a few perfect items. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
An interesting solve. We had a few to pick up around Tauranga while we were visiting. A lovely location with quite different seaweed than we are used to. Always nice to find a cache with waves crashing behind you. TFTC
2638 Solved this awhile ago but only collected today. Couldn't park in the nearby street as the car parks were full. Parked in the next and walked round from there. The tide was in but the water level was only calf high. Stood in the water while signing log.
Well what an interesting day. Started by solving this and thought yay. Let's go get it. Not so easy as I didn't feel like wet feet today. Decided to come back another day and do a local multi instead. Well wasted hours on that to end up with a muggled DNF!! The only bonus was that the tide had gone out enough to do this on the way home. Yay #1100. Thanks Lionfish for making me use my brain!! (Now I know why I couldn't have a hide near by! Haha)
The tide was right today so I did my dash. A nice hide and some great items. I left a couple of blue things. Thanks very much for the puzzle and the cache.
Checked on cache late this afternoon ... if it still there, someone has moved it, and we couldn't find it. So...... **replaced** the cache today (with a 1.1 litre Sistema-type container). If anyone in the future stumbles upon both, could you please let us know, and we will remove one. Happy puzzling everyone!
Out caching on a beautiful winters day and grabbing a few caches that I had previously solved. Nice little area here that I didn't know existed. Had to wait a while for some muggles to leave who were hanging about. Nicely hidden, thanks for the cache and fun puzzle
We finally got to it. Last time we came the tide was too high but this time success! And what an exciting array of things in the cache! Thank you for making it so cool!
First puzzle find on my own - quite pleased with myself. Enjoyed this cache. Thanks
Second mystery cache but first one in Tauranga! Was a pretty easy find and a nice walk in between showers. Thanks!
We both felt the heat and humidity today, so hibernated indoors until late afternoon, when the temperature seemed a little more bearable. I was keen to find a few more solved Tauranga puzzles.
We walked a little further than was necessary to GZ, then overshot where the cache was hidden. There were a couple of guys tending a bbq next door, but we were well hidden from them, Quick find for StreetWalker. Thanks for puzzle and the cache.

#11855. I wasn't sure of the best access point, and ended up parking further away than we could have. However. it was an interesting walk. TFTC.
My first ever mystery cache. I really enjoyed the puzzle & the spot. Took my dog as cover, which was good as there were council muggles about. TFTF!
I solved the puzzle ages ago, an easy but fun one, from memory! Today I had a spare few minutes in the city so zoomed over for the find.
Nicely themed swag! Tftc

Solved this a while back and only just made time to track, find and log neat little cache thanks for the effort love it
Finally got around to finding and logging. A day for crossing off mystery caches. Thanks for bringing us here
Checked on cache today - no trackables in the cache so have marked 'Dutch Geocoin 2012' as missing. All going well it will turn up again soon.
Out on an epic caching adventure with HKCB, iammrwalker and 11hpg11 as an honourary guest and the 'K' in signature 1HIK or HIK1 to make a dent in the caches of Tauranga.
A nice easy puzzle mixed with a nice area. If only the cache was blue as well Even the boat on the harbour was blue.

This geocache was found on my third trip to Tauranga/ The Mount/ Papamoa in the company of HKCB and 11hpg11 with a plan to clear out the area. We were joined today by Kyb3r another Hamilton Geocacher who was keen to be part of an infamous ‘mad mission’. We signed the logs with an anachronism of our Geocaching handles, usually ‘1HIK’ or ‘HIK1’. There were plenty of memorable moments and a lot of laughs as well. It was another long day; I got up at 4am and didn’t get to bed until midnight. We were a little disappointed not to meet our goal only getting about half way through our list of unfound caches. However we did tackle a number of difficult and complicated hides. We found some great and memorable caches and of course now have a great excuse to organise another trip to the area. Thanks to all the CO’s who provided us with such a great day out.
I printed this puzzle out at work last week and chipped away at it. Glad that I did as I would never have found this great little spot otherwise. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

This is the 3rd mission over to Tauranga in recent months with 11HPG11 and iammrwalker to turn the place into a bunch of similes, but this time Kyb3r joined in on the fun also. An early start from Hamilton meant we were greeted by a fantastic sunrise of Tauranga as we made our way down from the Kaimai's, and by the time we had decided we had had enough the sun had well and truly gone to bed, but we did see it disappear while halfway up the Mount.
We found some great caches throughout the day and had some very memorable moments, and I even hit a major milestone, my 5000th cache find. We signed the logs 1HIK (an acronym of our caching names) or some combination of these letters to save room on the logs. A big thanks to everyone for all of the great cache hides.
An enjoyable solve on this puzzle and a easy find with the blueish (a few clouds around) skies above us. Thanks for the puzzle and hide.

Our AIMS Games hockey team boys were having some down-time at the nearby park so Mr All7ofusNZ snuck off to grab this puzzle cache. Don't recall any problems solving this one and a quick find at the final after a bit of a walk. TFTP Lion Fish.
sorry for the late log. most enjoyable puzzle and great to pick up while in Tauranga. had my wee grandson as was out doing a spot of caching and picking up a few solved puzzles.
Well done Super Nanny who did all the important work. Good quick find at Go. Tftc.
So exciting ! Thanks Lion Fish !!!!!!! Finally a mystery cache I could solve on my own !
Was first attracted by the cache name , as I used to love this song in my teenage years !
Had solved it in no time ....but decided to leave the finding till daytime !

Pulled past here tonight after work as I am really keen on discovering new geocoins and TBs and after Kyles last visit saw there was a new one in there so have dropped off a coin and taken a coin cheers
I solved this puzzle a while back and needed help from Lionfish too. I definitely overthought the process.
Decided to grab this today to keep my mini streak going.
Left a Geocoin and took a travel bug.
Thanks Lionfish for a great puzzle cache.

Solved this puzzle quite a month or so ago, but with our moving house I seemed to have lost the piece of paper I wrote the coordinates on lol. Oh well its a pretty simple and fun puzzle to do and passes some time while kiwibaby was having his afternoon nap. Waited till Kiwijade got home from work and took a family drive down to the cache. We parked up down 5th ave by the motel there and it was a pretty quick find while jade and baby went and looked at some of the little row boats down there. Baby had a play on the grass and I decided to become a kid again and couldnt help but climbing a pretty awesome tree down by the water too, would be a wicked place for a rope swing. Thanks Lion Fish for another cool cache and also helps me to keep my streak going #88 days now. Dropped in a TB for a visit good luck with your travels
Such a lovely evening to go out and get a cache, Went out with my overally addicted partner and kiwibaby, had a lovely walk out on the sand as the tide was out. Slowly getting my finds up there. Most of the times i cannot log as i am not a premium member, but i am living through Mike
#328 - Haven't done many Puzzle/mystery caches.I thought this one looked like one i could solve! Geo checker said yes, and off i went to find after work today. Was really tucked away but managed to put my hand on it. TFTC lovely spot here.
#277. Solved this fun puzzle at home in Wellington when I knew we'd be up for school holidays. Today was a matter of collecting the find. RubydragonNZ's eagle eyes spotted this one for the team. Lovely spot. Lucky people in these beautiful houses. TFTC!
Solve this one a while back and needed an excuse to track it down. With there being a Pi day Souvenir available for puzzle caches on Pi day. That was all we needed as we celebrate pi day. Easy find once we worked out the coordinates. TFTC

Checked on cache today, & topped up trades; happy to report there were no 'funny' smells in the vicinity today [8)].
it was a pleasure to solve the riddle and visit this geocache with bubblezone during our long trip .
many thanks to the owner!
many thanks to the owner!
after solving this riddle, we headed out to find the cache - it was dark already and we only whispered and it felt like a real adventure with the help of our torch we managed to land a success - yet all the moscitos out there and the disgusting smell let us doubt it was an ENJOYABLE success - thanks anyway!
This was one of the first puzzles we ever solved, but it's taken months to make the trip across town to collect! It was the end goal of Mrs HHunters run from Bayfair today, across the rail bridge and down to collect the cache. I was pleased it took me a while to find the cache, as my legs were tired. Thanks for the puzzle!
In Tauranga for work so thought I would attempt a few puzzle caches. Solved the puzzle back home then a quick fly buy to find the cache and sign the log. Thanks for the puzzle.

Popped down to get this one after a nice weekend in the Mount. Enjoyed solving the crossword and from there a nice quick find.
So today I struck a low tide, blue sky's and a green cache waiting for me. What a lovely day especially when you find the cache.
Solved this puzzle back at beginning of year and saved in my iPhone came here last Thursday and searched but couldn't find and had to head of to TKD while the kids were training I rechecked the co ordinates saved and found they were wrong so re did the puzzle found the mistake and re entered into iPhone tonight before training pulled up nearby and sent the boy out to find as it was raining he found it quickly brought it back to car to sign the log and put it back. Much easier when you gave the right co ordinates loaded. Thanks lion fish .
Happy to have solved this one. We turned up at the co-ordinates at high tide, so was a bit tricky getting to the cache.
Had solved a lot of puzzles in preperation for my trip over here. Sadly the weather didn't play ball and I didn't have time to get as many caches as I would have liked. This one was a quick find today once I got in the right area. Thanks for showing me this beaut little spot.
Had worked this puzzle out a little while ago.
So today was time to find it. Was searching and searching until our dad spied it.

After a poor effort on the last attempt it was a relief to find it this time. The only disappointment was finding a cache container that was not blue but green

Had a bit of Trans-Tasman tag teaming going on with this one !!
Jointeffort over the last week with anjwirihana in Papamoa and me back home in Sydney fine tuning the coords to get a possible GZ
Lucky for me anjwirihana waited for me to fly to NZ so we could tackle it together.
Muggle neighbour came out as we found it and mentioned he found it whilst gardening one day and kinda understood what it was but we were the first finders he had actually seen in action !
Nice little spot My first puzzle cache on NZ soil

Found with Papaka79, luckily 2 minds working together helped find the correct co-ords. Had never been down this road before so thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
I was a little off target but after 40mins on the wrong side... it was a quick find dropped off my little Smurf friend, it seemed fitting.
I had worked this one out some time ago and it has been waiting for a trip
to Tauranga. We were lucky the tide was out but it was a good hide and took
a me awhile to find Thanks for the puzzle.

never thought of clicking on this log, as my boat is pakaru, then realised it wasnt in the ocean!
easy solve, and cool find, although kids first spot to search was on the pohutukawa that overhung the water.
i too had blue shoes on, and 5 year old had blue gumboots, wife blue jacket, daughter blue pants! totally accidental.
IN: Blue turtle
OUT: blue surfboard necklace

Day four of the July school holidays, what better way to spend the Winter Holiday then driving to the BOP via the East Coast, looking for interesting caches, climbing hills and walking on beaches.
I had on blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt but in the dark you couldn't tell. Found quickly then we blew out of there. TFTC.

Interesting puzzle, Mrs Banian had worked it out. Picked up at night, so the world was grey- Grey, grey, my world is grey (pierced by torchlight!). TFTC
#111 and our first puzzle cache, Mrs nzkites worked it out yesterday but got one word wrong initially which threw out the coords, soon fixed after Mr nzkites had a look. Good hide, great theme, took TB, left blue ring. People watching from a nearby house and rowers out on the water this am, but no muggles overlooking us as we did the deed. TFTC and the puzzle!

Loved this blue puzzle. Solved it and of we go. The sky was blue and the blue water was all the way up. (high tide). Wondering how to get to the cache, just leaving enough space to get to the cache.
I loved the blue contents of the blue cache. Left a Travelbug with a bit of blue in it.
Thanks for the puzzle. Thanks for the cache

Was having a Blue Monday so was only fitting I searched for this cache on my way home from work. I solved the puzzle last week while sick at home. The puzzle was a boredom buster and I enjoyed solving it. The cache was quick and easy to find and loaded with interesting themed items. As I had no swaps on me, I signed log, took nothing and left nothing. Thanks for cheering me up. <°))))><
A half hearted search as there were people outside at the house next door. At least I know how to get high tide access now. Next time ....
Mrs S solved the puzzle easily but when Mr S ran it through the Geochecker it came up incorrect. Can't be.! Rechecked the numbers and found one wrong. Duh. Simple mistake.
Found the cache easily enough, tide was going out so Mr S did not get wet feet.
Great little puzzle, great little hide, left a trinket. Thanks Lion Fish, this earned a FAV from us.

Fun puzzle. Great hide. Were a bit bemused about how to get to cache site during high tide, but with further exploration worked it out. Love the effort that has gone into the puzzle and cache contents.
found it this time - werent willing to get our feet wet the first time

Managed to solved the crossword (Mrs Zorgon was very surprised LOL). Stopped by, but the blue was too high to attempt. Next time.
This is one type of puzzle I can do! My greatest challenge was to negotiate the foreshore walk in work clothes. At least the tide was out. Once at GZ I discovered that the walk was unnecessary, as access to the beach frontage by vehicle was possible. TNLN TFTC
Found with nzkeko on a gorgeous sunny but chilly winters morning. Sorted out the co ordinates some time ago but didn't get a chance to go and grab it. TFTC
YAY ME. A major find for me. One of the first puzzle caches I ever solved, but I didn't know how to navigate into it properly using my mobile. Found out how to do this now... and the rest is history. Found easily. SLTN. TFTC. Totally buzzing now.
