My Apologies for not being at what looks like was a fantastic event.
My other pass time (and crewing commitments) ment we were racing at the Waikato Salon car champs at Huntly Speedway.
It was good to see that the weather was as great as the people that attended.
Many thanks to all the poeple that not only put the event togeather but got so many poeple from outside of geocaching talking about it.
I hope to some day put the faces to the names of the people that make this so much fun to do.
Flippaduck.

Weather forecast update...
Sat 26th... Max 24°C MIN 15°C Showers from afternoon, some thundery . Light winds
Sun 27th... Max 23°C MIN 17°C Showers. Light winds.
We've woken to a fine morning here in the Bay of Plenty, so for anyone travelling to the event from out of town, you should be able to get some geocaching done before the event at 3pm.
We are of course concerned about the weather, but we are not postponing or cancelling. We will proceed at 3pm. If the weather is lousy we will move to an alternative venue. We have a couple of options in mind for this, one of them being our house in Otumoetai, a 5 minute drive from Kulim Park.
Our aim is to at least begin the event at Kulim Park, as there will be 2 new caches at the Park. If we move during the afternoon, we will post a note here on this site, and we can also be contacted at any time on 029-928-3360.
Looking forward to meeting everyone later today,
Robyn & Warren

Fingers crossed for a few hours of fine weather! Wondering whether to bring Mosh the hyperactive geo lab or not ... anyone else bringing dogs?
Thanks very much Lionfish and Rickamortis, we enjoyed ourselves and it was nice to put names to faces. Well done
Enjoyed meeting Geocacher. Great afternoon. Pleased the rain stayed away. Many thanks
Thanks to Lion Fish and Rick-a-Mortis, enjoyed the meeting. Nice to be able to put faces on names.

Thanks Rick & Lion Fish for putting on a fun event on a lovely afternoon. It was great to be able to put a few faces to the screen names. Will no doubt catch up with a few of you around the place now Pity I had to head off early.
Wow! Well done Lion Fish and Rick-a-Mortis!
What a well-organised event, and thank you so much for all the effort you put into making this happen.[^] Great to have so many people come; great that the weather stayed fine, and great to finally put some faces to the names that turn up so often in logbooks.
The multi was brilliant!
Hope to see you folks again some time,

Wow! What a fabulous turnout ... thanks everyone for supporting Tauranga's Event. How cool was it that we had geocachers from as far afield as Auckland, Whakatane, Waihi Beach, Waihi, Rotorua, Gisborne, Kawerau, & Far North Queensland (and family visiting from the UK).
The future of Geocaching in Tauranga is looking good with such a great goup of locals 'hooked' on the geocaching bug.
Thanks again everyone

Apologies for not making it to the event - sounds like everyone had a great time. We got waylaid en route by rumours of mass FTFs up for grabs between 2 and 3pm in Auckland. Headed back home and arrived in time to clean up a new Trail of Power.
What a great event, So nice to met old friends and make some new ones.
Outstanding.
Outstanding.
I was coming down to Tauranga because I had mis-read the instructions and requirements for the MGSc, thinking that I had to attend an event in 4 different areas. But no, I just had to log 4 CACHES in 4 different areas.
Never mind, it was great to meet up with Lion Fish again and to finally meet up with Rickamortis. Thanks for a great day.
It was also great to meet up with some of the locals and not-so locals, new and old.
Once again, thanks Warren and Robyn for organising a great day.

What a great afternoon, and the weather held up well for us too. A big Thank you to Lion fish and helpers for organizing this event. It was great to meet all those people behind the log names that I have red so often. My first Event and will look out for others. Cheers to all.
thanks to Lion Fish and Rick-a-Mortis (now know why so named )seen these names around for a while, nice to meet you all. Had a most enjoyable weekend cacheing .It took us from 10.30am till 9.30pm to get home (15 caches later) Thanks for the great weekend and the event.
My first event and my first ever try at geocaching - very nice group of people, and all made me feel very welcome and glad that I plucked up the nerve to get out of my car

#569: Great event and enjoyed meeting some cachers that we previously only knew by name: Rick-a-mortis and Lion Fish. Nice to meet Vicky, who just started in Geocaching and the event was her first find. Also great to catch up with Brett and Barb again for a few caches. Finally, we enjoyed meeting NZKeko, who just happens to be a parish priest from Gisborne! It is not every day that we meet clergy enjoying geocaching as well.

3651 Great Event, thanks very much to Lionfish and Rick-a-mortis for all their efforts. The weather was exceedingly kind to us and we had a lovely time chatting with many of those that attended.
Great to catch up with some familiar faces (Darby & Joan, Tufty, Zork V and Willbuild) and lovely to get a chance to chat with new faces (Raconteur, Murray'n'Janet, nzkeko, SplattyNZ, mattyandjax, Spy3, Miles, nzyetje and NZBiscuit).
Hopefully this will be the start of an annual event, it's so nice to have events so close to home!

persuaded our visiting relatives that they should do Tauranga this weekend on their Tiki-tour...which just happened to coincide with this event!. so we joined them on this beautifully sunny weekend, and attended the TCC event. we all had a wonderful time, ticking off a few new caches, and putting faces to names of the BOP cachers. was nice to see a few familiar faces there too from Auckland way. look forward the next one. big thanks to the hosts Mr and Mrs Lion fish and Rick for great organisation and delicious apricot-coconutty things!

A huge thanks to the organisers for timing this event to coincide with our visit to the area. This is the first time we have attented an event in another country. It was a great afternoon with perfect weather and great fun. We can now say we truly have international geocaching friends. And now a drumroll please. As we log this cache our find count has just hit the 500. Having seen some of the numbers some of you have, it seems a little insignificant but it was a goal we set to achieve on our holiday over here and with your cache density it has now been achieved. As we told some of you we use caching to take us places that even locals may not have been and we have had many surprises while over here. I'm glad we found the cache at the top of Mt Pauanui. I would hate to expend all that energy and not be rewarded. I hope that some of you can make it across the ditch to visit Cairns so that we can return the hospitallity.
Really enjoyed the afternoon, particularly enjoyed meeting so many other keen cachers from near and far. Thank you Lion Fish team for organising this event and arranging for the forecast rain and thunder to stay away until after the event!!
Also thanks to Zork V for donating a cache which we had the luck to win. Will organise a home for this in a few weeks when we become more familiar with our new home city.

Thanks for the fun day .... nice to see the new faces and say hi again to the others. Collected two TB's and dropped off two.
Thanks very much for a great day.Wonderful organisation and hospitality! It was really neat meeting and being able to learn from so many experienced geocachers.
#800 Thank you Lion Fish and Rick-a-mortis, what a great afternoon. Really enjoyed the caches, meeting new cachers, putting faces to team names and all the chit chat sharing info, and stories. We had a fantastic time. Thanks it got us to Tauranga at last on caching adventures.
Would've been great to catch up and meet lots of cachers, but unfortunately we're away at a sports event this weekend. Hopefully there'll be another one soon.... Have a good one anyway! Thanks for organising.
We had plans to fly into Christchurch today for a long weekend caching, so didn't think we'd make it to this event. Tuesday's earthquake has obviously changed our plans. Instead, we look forward to catching up with some BOP cachers.

Just so you know I will have some buckets that would be good for caches there are allot that are round with lid and some that are square with lids. they have all had only food grade products in from the new company that I work for now.
ALSO I WILL HAVE SOME CACHE STICKERS THAT I GET MADE AND SELL ON TRADE ME. THESE ARE A SHEET OF GREEN AND BLACK CACHE STICKERS FOR YOUR CACHING CONTAINERS. each sheet contains 11 stickers. 5 x medium . 6 small. I will have about 5 which I have left in stock until I get more printed. these are $10 per sheet. these can also be made custom to the cachers needs as i have some out there for me and I had some made for the wookie.
I can explain more on the day and orders can be placed. we can also custom make the sticker sizes but it may cost a little more
Look forward to seeing everyone there for this awesome event

Hi everyone, We are macandrita from North Queensland Australia and we will be based at Lake Taupo from Feb 25th for a week after a week in the Coromandel Peninsula. So this event is definately now on our to do list. Hoping to meet ZorkV who has recently dropped off our Geotalk Geocoin after taking it on a jouney around the caches in the area. We left it here when we visited on a cruise in 2009.

Irresistable, we would love to meet the BOP cachers, we will mark the date on our calendar and look forward to the event. Thanks for organising a get-to-together.
This will be good fun,
we have a busy day that day with work and setting up a black and white party but we should be able to squeeze this in
