Thought this was going to be way harder but found almost instantly on this quiet Saturday morning TFTC
Muggles muggles muggles. Walkers, cyclists, gawkers sightseers. Will return some time when its not so busy.
With HCD. Only had a crayon with me. Very hard to write. Log book full now. Excellent fun. Well hidden. The kids all want to do the entire urban illusions series.
#260 Haha, I almost died slipping down the ramp :S and when I found it, I remarked it wouldn't have been even necessary... but anyway, tftc
I have a confession to make. I took the theme of this series too literally and made the incorrect assumption on my first visit that the cache was hiding in the open by being the keysafe on the electronic sign control box (hint: it is NOT the keysafe on the electronic sign control box). I thought the tricky part of this cache was working out what the combination was, which I found very tricky - looking at the usual clues for passcodes without success. I revisited several times, each with a different set of codes gleaned from various sources. I was very perplexed, especially when cachers with a lot less experience than myself (we were all there at one point) seemed to find it without trouble.
After seeing further logs I finally came to the conclusion that I was barking up the wrong tree and so started afresh with new eyes. This time I was successful in a much more rapid time. TFTC

Our second day and also our last day of staying in Lower Hutt. We started with rain, but by times it was dry weather. We made a walk in the area of our Camellia Court Motel and visit some caches. This one also. Found it and logged it!
TFTC!

Well hidden but easy enough to locate as a result of the accurate co-ordinates.
Actually ... in the end it probably took me longer to find an empty space on the log slips than to retrieve and replace the cache itself. In spite of major muggle activity close by, I was able to sit quietly and take all the time in the world to deal with this wee baby, completely unseen. Great site selection J'N'K. TFTC.
Was not previously aware of this interesting-looking series so must investigate for another time.

Another great allusion. ..paint could do with a touch up
Thank you for the cache
Thank you for the cache
Neat hide - love the concept of hiding in plain sight, can't wait for the rest in the series.

Found the container easily enough, but couldn't summon up the method to open it. Will have to try again at some later time
Have looked for this before with no sucess, today however it was only a matter of minutes before Papa bear had it in his hands, we have enjoyed doing the urban illusion ones. Tftc
It turns out I was trying to over-think this one. Once I started thinking like a cacher, it was pretty simple really. TFTC
Had cycled past this previously and assumed it was somewhere that it ultimately was not. Scanning the local area spotted the cache container very quickly, not what I had expected at all for this UI. Turned the logbook over and found an almost empty page. TFTC
Made this harder for myself than I ought to have, by fixating on something else. Almost gave up until I read something in the previous logs that made me rethink my approach. Quick find after that. TFTC
Took a couple of minutes to find, helps that we have done several others like this. Logbook nearly full.
Had some hours to kill in Lower Hutt while Barnaby was being serviced so set off to find a few nearby caches. This was the first and a nice simple one to start with. Clever hide, but quickly spotted: the hardest bit was finding an empty spot on the log to sign and then refurling it to fit in the cache! Good to have met you at last night's Geocaching event in Carterton and TFTC.
WaffleKitties had this in her hand before I could understand what had happened Nice hide, TFTC
Been here before but was unsuccessful on finding it, came back today and found within a few minutes. TFTC.
First of the series for me. Two pair of eyes make all the difference UlmusLynx also spotted some cash in the grass so winning all round TFTC
Have tried for this 2 or 3 times before. heaps of people out on hot sunny Saturday. Scooped up 50 cents nearby before spotting the cache. Good hide. TFTC
Unlucky with this one. Gave it a good Kiwi try, but it will have to wait for another attempt.
great find. Took a few minutes to find but was a very clever cache[^][^]
i've seen this kind before and enjoy doing them!

Must get around to clearing all these illusions from the to do list. Hopefully they will all click like this one did. Co-ords spot on, so a quick find. TFTCSL
Mr TT tracked this one down quite quickly on our MTB tour of the Hutt River trail today. TFTC
Cache #1036 - after defeating us twice before, we attempted this one again today. Still took a while, but finally found the cache, - and figured out what something nearby was for that we thought might have been the cache. No sign of the vagrant who has been hanging around here the previous couple of visits, so made looking a touch easier. Did with DownUnder Wanderer. A well-hidden cache, and glad to have this one knocked off. Always in hindsight do things appear simple once you find them. Thanks for the challenge!
After 3 attempts to get to this one finally got it. With the Wandering Dragons. TFTC
Not what I was expecting as an urban illusion, more a traditional cache. Looked around for a solid 15 minutes, almost gave up hope. Quite a sneaky little hide. Really pleased to have found this one. Left my trademark American coins.
Found on a cycling trip from Wellington. Once I was operating at the right level, this was a fairly straight forward find. TFTC.
Rather jealous of all the folks who claimed this as a quick find, as it eldued two of us. We gave up for today after 15 minutes of searching.
We had visited this once before with no luck, but today MrsP just walked right up and grabbed it.

This was a quick and easy find, especially for an urban illusion cache. We suspect it may not be situated where it is supposed to be.
May need to check it.
Last cache for the night (11.45pm!!) Time to find somewhere to sleep. TFTC

The other half of CachingInNZ has made a couple of attempts at this one, but it was my first go. I knew roughly where to look, but realised I had to step back & try for myself... I must have stared at the cache for a whole minute before I clicked! Another clever hide in the Urban Illusions series
(FYI - we're onto the last page of the logbook, and there's only room for a few more signatures)

4.25pm. Remember being here in the past but still had to look hard for it, and then I remembered!!
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
I recall this one from its time as part of Chameleon Capers so stood back while my son found it reasonably quickly. TFTC.
