Solves that problem ! It was tucked into the base of the tree roots - very hard to find as soil got disturbed by the earth quake
Might come back one day

I had fun solving the code but nothing found at GZ. Worth a looksie please. cheers
How crazy it is to be here at GZ? Exactly a week ago I was here with the kids and I was thinking why are there no caches here?
I had been looking at this puzzle for a while before getting a nudge in the subject matter. Working on it somewhere around 3am this morning I found the layers starting dropping away and I had some numbers. Even after having 600 odd puzzle finds it amazes me how there seems to be an unlimited number of ways to hide co-ords.
This is quite a cool puzzle, shame I didn't get the reward of finding it after a detailed search.

Was a hard hide anyway - probably been too long since found - as it is in the tree roots could see it happening quite easily
Will check sometime

Hadn't really looked at the puzzle too much until today. When I investigated further, it didn't take too long to sort out what I was looking for, and the co-ordinates quickly made themselves known. As for the hide, unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it's gone. Not too many places a cache could be at this location, and a previous finder confirmed I was looking in the right area. Have emailed a pic to CO to confirm. May need to be checked out.
606 - I must have had the right cheese with me today because the little fellow came out to play. It was a lovely day to be there at GZ and had lunch nearby. I got to know this rodent well in earlier years. Thanks for the visit down memory lane.
The rodent decided he didn't want to play today so hid away. I had more pressing things on my mind (like a FTF , so after 15 minutes I headed off, making a mental note to bring a food offering next time.
This was the last success for the afternoon. It was the last cache looked for in our last visit - and as we had found a pefect spot it was a relief to find it had been missing. So today we went back to the perfect spot - and found the replacement.
SoBad junior does not do caching or puzzles, but did know the activity this is based around. Not that he helped at all with the puzzle because Mrs had got to that stage already, but it was reassuring. Then a bit more research - well a lot more research - and she found forms of dishonesty she did not know existed!!
Thanks for the puzzle and cache... and the fun.

Have had quiet nibbles at this puzzle until one night I found the big cheese! Definitely wasn't a puzzle alley I'd ever been familiar with after all the previous blind alleys I'd struck. Was really pleased with myself for running through the maze successfully, smiling more like a Cheshire cat when reached the end to get the reward coords for GZ. The first attempt to locate this tricky rodent cache was not successful but today found its habitat & with more determination than before, managed to entice it to reveal itself with a cheesy grin. Gotcha! A quick meet & greet, then we scurried away ! Phew, another tricky LGM puzzle signed off! Thanks!
I've had this one solved for ages (one of my first LGM puzzles solved). Really enjoyed this puzzle. Brought back some memories. This one gave me the impetus to start 'seeing' LGM puzzle solutions. Still a bit blurry on some . Waited to store up some puzzle solutions before I ventured out. Had my two cachelets in tow and had to make it a priority to have the playground stop before going anywhere near a cache. After a lovely play at the playground we grabbed the bikes and headed out for a hunt. Stopped a likely spot and went in for the hide. I see it hasn't been found for a few months. Plenty of muggles about but had the log signed and replaced before anyone noticed. No off to see if we could see some trout. On the way back to the truck my eldest found a Raupo reed and was hitting it against a post and it started snowing. Was lovely. Thanks for the effort again boys.

DNF… Enjoyed solving this interesting and devious puzzle, unfortunately no signs of the tricky rodents at GZ, TFTCSF.
Sorted the rodent & its habits so decided today could be a good day for a rodent hunt but unfortunately its habitat was elusive today !
#1,170: Down the Rabbit Hole!
I really liked this puzzle a lot! Took a wee while to chase down the rodent of choice (one of my favorites from my youth), but once there, I found a familiar grid. I actually think I had a printed copy of this back in the day, but then again, who didn't? Went out to GZ some days ago, but came up empty. Prompted the CO to have a looksee, and he quickly replaced it (Thanks LGM!). This morning I arrived at GZ to find a worker finishing up, so I waited him out. As he was driving away, another arrived, and started setting up for some wee ones who were coming for a school outing. Oh no! So, while he was out of sight, I quickly went after the hide (knew where it would be from last time), and was able to find, sign, and return before he re-appeared. Whew! Went off to find another nearby cache, and upon returning to the GeoMobile, saw that about 20 workers were now all over the place, setting things up. Man, timing is everything. Left in good shape, with a smile and a smiley. Well done puzzle!

This was to be our last Christchurch find - but it was not to be. We had time to look in a couple of likely places that fitted our ideas - but maybe we had the wrong idea. A number of people around on a beautiful day so we pulled the plug when a young muggle started to play nearby and because it was close to our selfimposed departure time. Hope to look for this and the one other unfound but looked for puzzlecache next visit - as well as the other solved but we ran out of time for ones. Thanks for the puzzles and the hides - 2 lots of fun in the one cache for Mrs SoBad.
Managed to sign the log today! I was looking for the correct rodent but in the wrong place.... Ruru_NZ sent me in another direction, so a bit more searching then it was solved. Fairly easy in the end (don't you hate that). TFTC.
Finally found on attempt #2.
Once I identified the rodent (using the hints)I was on the right path and soon had the solution in hand.
Used to spend hours on this rodent pastime.
As easy as falling off a cliff - the first step was the hardest and having achieved that (with the hint) there was no stopping... till splat at the bottom - last time there was a kids party nearby and we were watched and watched so missed the obvious.
With our very nearby Guide Camp I was able to revisit very early Friday morning and quickly retrieve.
Although my streak stopped at 30 days due to the planning for the camp, I was determined to have a find for 11/11/11 and this was it!
Then pointed kiwicampnut in the right direction after she set up and ran a caching activity for about 60 guides on our pre-jamboree camp.

With a little help from RuruNZ - well maybe a lot of help, found without trouble on way home from doing some caches for the Guides that were camping nearby. Glad to get at least one on this date. Kiwicampnut
We really enjoyed solving this puzzle, which led us somewhere unexpected and brought back a few memories. Today we visited the location of the final, found the cache and then decided it was a nice spot to have lunch. Many thanks, and a favourite point from us.

Another LGM cache solved but not found. (It would have been #200.)
This one seems to be as easy as falling off a cliff - the first step was the hardest and having achieved that (with the hint) there was no stopping - till the bottom where the sudden stop must have rattled my brain, cause I just couldn't find the cache!
Never mind - another visit will hopefully reveal.
Edited for dates! Shouldn't log so early in the day!

I spent far too long trying all sorts of encryption and getting no-where. Then I was given a nudge in the right direction and the code was quickly broken. Cache easily found. TFTC.
Solved this a few nights ago, and popped out tonight with Moneydork to knock it off after dark. Nice quick find. Cheers Gav [9690]
Another great LG-M puzzle. Took a bit of googling to get the info, and a wee hint from owner put me on the right path. Cache was in first place I looked, but I overlooked it and it took a look from StreetWalker (who was on fire today) to find it.
Unfortunately, this was all we had time for today. (Maybe just as well as my mother's dial-up modem which I am logging with is driving me nuts with its snail pace speed!)
TFTC.

#2393. It was good to knock off a few puzzles on a very mild July morning. It was muggle free at GZ, and after a search that took a bit longer than it should, we unearthed the cache. TFTC.
Added another hint to the identity of the rodents - you still have to find out why it is being dishonest !
I went through lists lists and more lists of rodents and googled every one finding lots of childrens games but nothing which was any help to me at all. I was really scratching my head for a long time before help arrived and the puzzle solved. Thanks for the picture and additional clue. Rosie didn't like staying in the car her reward was a stop at the dog park on the way home.
Yippee solved! Not at all what we expected. Loved the puzzle thanks. Added to our 'To Be Collected' list.
Well done KW Couple ! Despite the protests from Little G, have added a little mayhem, and another hint, to make it easier !
Pondered this for the last week; was hoping to make this a double whammy - 200th cache and out 1st
FTF. But alas we were just a bit slow...204th cache & 1st FTF is still pretty good!
Inspiration struck yesterday evening & the code was cracked shortly there after. Headed out this morning
for a family walk, feed the inhabitants, & to snag the cache....No one else for miles, so we had an unhindered
short hunt which resulted in the find...creative puzzle, nice one. TFTC.
