Eagle-eyed Piratenschatzsucher! found it. One of the most beautiful places, lve ever been. Our kids loved it, too.
Today we went on a family outing and did this extremely nice hike from Omana Beach to this beautiful secret bay down here, which Greenkiwikid the youngest called "crazy beautiful". I was very pleased to find that a G2 cache was hidden out here and I was even more pleased when I did find it, as it hasn't been logged for a while. It took us a bit to find and we were a little confused by the plants named, but not found. The coords were spot on though, and the well concealed cache was soon in hand. Cache is in a very good condition, all nice and dry! Thanks for hiding and maintaining. Tftc
Searched for quite a while and finally found it. A lovely spot of beauty here in the Coromandel. TFTC
Staying nearby with friends. A nice walk on a beautiful day. Didn't take long once we sorted the natives out. Tftc
Found after deciding the plant was a harakeke. Not a true silver fern in sight. TFTC
Ā fantastic walk and beautiful beach. No one else here. Had a paddle and found the cache. Now back to our mobile geocaching office to freedom camp overnight. TFTC
It's been well over a decade since we've walked this track. Thanks for giving us an excuse to make a return visit to this lovely spot.
1.45pm. A very hot day for such an up and down walk. 32 degrees when I got back to the Onemana shop. Another new beach for me. Typical of many along this part of the coast. The cache took me a while to locate. Definately notas the hint indicates but I got it before the homeward journey.A favourite point for bringing me to this beach.
Thank you. David
Thank you. David
Great to find it... tried a couple years ago and couldn’t. Beautiful walk and bay
Market Day here so stopped off to check it out. Loved the engraved fob watches. This place is buzzing with people. Now off to check out the cache and leave ur caling card. Cheers.
Day 12 - Tuesday 29 December - Whangamata - Opoutere - Onemana and back to Whangamata today. Some local beaches to explore so lets go!
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

It's market day! Spent an enjoyable half hour or more wandering around, eating icecream and donuts, watching a guy playing a distorted guitar, didgeridoo, and drum pad (which he operated with his foot).
At the beach it's still early in the day - not many when we arrived, lots of cars in the carpark when we left.
Found the cache not where the hint specifies, returned according to the hint.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

A beautiful morning a amazing place with nearly no muggles and still a alive cache box. TFTC
We had some pretty big plans for today but there was also some pretty bad weather intent on stopping us. Just a small detour over to Onemana for this one. Cache found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. A neat little walk - Cheers G-2, TFTC
On a day trip caching with Richard up at Onemana. Lots of walking and seeing some beautiful beaches and bays. A few good downs and of course ups. Thanks to the COs for some great caches and for Ri hard taking me as I am not sure whether my Suzuki would have liked some of those roads lLuckily Richard spotted this one more on the side than behind TFTC
Great day for a walk with awesome views and a great Cache to wrap up the trip to Onemana
Even a shoddy day weather wise didn't put a dampener on the location of this cache. A truly spectacular, peaceful and tranquil location! We headed to the cache first which was quickly found and then took some time to explore this place before taking the trail back to the car. An easy favourite TFTC!
1.45pm - Very hot walking this track today but great scenery all along. Got to GZ and found pohutukawa but silver ferns don't grow in this enviroment. Flaxes and cutty grasses yes but soon had cache. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... And my new friend Voltarin.
My back has been sore for a couple of days, and I’ve been trying all sorts of stretches to work things back into place. I arrived at Gap’s this morning and was presented with good drugs... The first few steps were jarring, but once the medicine kicked in, we were away...
It was quite busy through here today, as the general public looked for ways to keep cool. Silly us! We’re geocaching... At least the scenery was stunning, and there is a faint onshore breeze... A confusing hint, but found nevertheless. TFTC.

TFTC. Nice spot. Worth the walk in. You will need to read previous log entries to find it though.
Another amazingly beautiful NZ bay to ourselves. Great spot. Quick find, TFTC!
Thanks for bringing us here - our 3, 5 and 7 year olds managed fine and we were pleased to find this one quickly after a DNF in onemana this morning
Quick find despite not being under a silver fern as noted by previous cacher. Agree it's a beautiful beach.
Stunning walk in to this cache. Well worth the effort. Looked elsewhere before reading information and then quick find. All good here. Thanks for the cache G-2.
GPS had me right on...but no silver fern....hunted around and found the red bull bottle behind an other native...def not a fern tftc G 2awsome area and only one Robinson Cruso here lol
A beautiful spot alright. The plant is definitely not a silver fern, its an Astelia for those botanically minded! Tftc
I wish I could give this place two favorite ... amazing perfect beautiful place. Could have just say here all day. Thanks

Agreed a tricky one to find. The silver fern is not a fern, more a tough flax like grass. Thanks for the Cache
I took the title too literally and thought the cache might be along the track above the beach, but we soon found out that was the wrong way made our way back and down to the beach. This probably took the longest of all the onemana caches to find. Got misled not only by the title but also the description!
After a lot of unnecessary scrambling up and around the steep bank for the elusive "silver fern", we read some of the older logs and were put straight. Yes! Thescoobys came up with the goods!! Another awesome spot - thanks for leading us here G-2!

Tftc! Cache took us a bit longer to find that it probably should have, but after reading the older logs, we finally had a clue! Well, its still silver, yes. After that, cache was soon in hand, and log signed.
Can't resist a description like a random beach. Another little part of the world explored. Went for a swim in the huge waves to cool off then lay under a tree to dry off. Great little adventure. Tftc

I went out with our local rambling group from Whanga to do this walk along the coast to Te Ananui beach
and I new these caches have been here for some time but needed some company for safety sake. Its a
good walk and haven't done for a while. TFTC

What a cool little beach and a great place for a cache. Wouldn't have thought of walking over here without the cache luring me on... Scores a favourite from me, TFTC
A lovely afternoon in Onemana with PP and Firebird9.
A great walk over the hill to the beach - another beautiful spot.

The cache mentioned as "replacement" cache for Xella's hide is not the cache replaced by us or the "replacement" cache placed by avoyager. Xella's hide is in a cave on the beach
After unsuccessfully searching for the Xella's cache at the northern end of the beach, we headed to the south end, only to find both this cache, and Xella's cache, within 5 metres of each other. Xella's cache is clearly labelled as such, and until it is removed, future searchers need to check which cache they have found. There is no sign of any silver fern in the area, and the (Random Bay) cache is now hidden behind a flax like plant. TFTC
Après avoir un peu vadrouillé à droite et à gauche, nous finissons par tomber sur la cache. Petite crique sauvage et secrète, l'endroit est superbe. Merci de nous l'avoir fait découvrir.

Misinterpreted the cache title, so went the wrong way. Once in the right area, made a quick find. Nobody around, perfect. Thanks Glyn, wouldnt have known this track was here but for the caches. A great secret spot. TFTC
At an event I mentioned that I would like to find around ~150 geocaches during the weekend to be able to award my 5000 find to a special geocache in the states. YuGeo4 & yorkshirekiwi83 were more than happy to help me out overachieving this goal on Saturday. We met up early morning at 5:30am and started driving in the direction of Thames to tackle the Pony Express Power trail. We continued our drive to Waihi via Whangamata back to Auckland collecting drive by geocaches. Thanks YuGeo4 & yorkshirekiwi83 for an awesome day out geocaching!! Signed logs as "YAY"....
Awesome little beach. Enjoyed the hike there and the time spend at the beach. TFTC

Wow! An amazing spot greeted us at the end of the trail, we had the beach to ourselves, quickly located this cache before heading off to do a spot of rock hopping, log signed as YAY (found with alpenmilch80 and yorkshirekiwi83) to save space and time, thanks for showing us Pakahakaha Bay.
YeoGeo4, Alpenmilch80 and I met to head to the Coromandel and then Whangamata to hit as many caches as possible, in a fun filled day with great company we far exceeded our expectations of how many we would find.
What a lovely hidden beach, a favourite point just for the location. Thanks for the cache signed as team Yay.

Lovely beach at the end of a nice walk. Fortunately we were the only ones on the beach TFTC
Weather forecast proved wrong, with great views along the track & gorgeous sunshine this am. Had the beach to ourselves, which helped for a nice quick find. And this is exactly why we geocache; thanks Glyn for bringing us here, a totally awesome spot! TFTC
Breathtaking spot, big waves, allone at that beautiful piece of earth, geocaching from its best side. Thanks for showing us and greetings from Germany
Found it! Thanks for making us walk this gorgeous track. Amazing New Zealand!!
This was our second attempt to find this one but it took the dedication of the 8 year old to conquer it.
What a great litle beach to pop out on to end the trail, Im not sure about your fern glyn but it was an easy find, Thanks for bringing me here.
Not such an easy find - under rock - silver fern red herring - red bull lid on receptacle
Thanks for bringing us here. not a soul in sight. You don't seem to have fooled anyone with the red herring about the silver fern. It was in full flower which I've been trying to get mine to do in the garden without success.....maybe they secretly flower while we're away in the caravan?
Decided to take a walk to the hidden beach today, and grab the caches along the way. TFTC
Yes.....after a big walk, Specially the last part was challenging as an old lady was trying to get up.
A true gem. Thanks for showing us this Glyn

Met a family on this beach who had camped overnight here. What a great place, wonderful, secluded, dramatic, magical - running out of superlatives now, will definitely mark down as a favorite. Silver fern? Not sure but quick find. TFTC
Back to log find after finding with anther team last summer before I started caching tftc
Decieded that after the day spent in Whangamata i needed a bit of a walk and these few answered the need, Nice walk along the cliff tops and down to the beach. Quick find while being shown around the area by Novalightning, nice little spot to stop, TFTC
I summed it up as Cathederal Cove without the cathederal and CROWDS, awesome spot.

Beautiful beach, well worth the walk, we had the beach all to ourselves (not surprising with the showery weather). Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot.
Quite a hike but well worth the effort as the beach is beautiful. Not too difficult to find once there as beach is quite small.
lovely beach. For your info plant wasn't a silver fern but a type of flax. Nil taken nil left
great little beach but sea really rough today-had us looking for awhile but bori5 soon had it in hand-cheers jumboz

A random beach but by the looks of that cache pic a popular one, look at the foot prints!!
I descended to the beach at about 5pm and as luck would have it the last family were just vacating, leaving me to search on my own,
took a few minutes till I stopped and re-read the cache page and hint, found it in the silver something..........
TNLN TFTC!!
