WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 10 - Cleve to Port Lincoln via Port Neill and Tumby Bay. My short days continue and I spent a bit of time around Cleve before I got under way. Plenty of roadside caches along the highways. I ventured into Pot Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Louth to check out the villages. As ever I would have loved to have stopped for lunch or dinner in each one, but I stuck to the plan and made it to the caravan park in Port Lincoln. Once I was set up I went and did a few more caches on the edge of town. A couple more Counties today. I'll spend another day here tomorrow before heading North West to th Nullabor over a few days after that.I suppose this item was pushed out of the way when the area was developed, but it is a pretty big stone and I am glad it was not broken up or buried. No problems with the cache here today. Thanks for the cache Deeferdan2246629.34 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 250 Finds Achievement A#65**Albida**

With rain expected tomorrow, we headed out with iluvtrekking to do dry weather caching. Quick find thanks where’s wolly
Another cache found with richlink.
We have enjoyed travelling The Eyre Peninsula with richlink using Geocahing as our guide. We have seen many interesting towns and locations along the way. Thank you so much to the CO’s who have placed and maintained caches for the enjoyment of all.

We had a really fun day caching around Port Lincoln with ilook4geo. Some roads gave the most beautiful views of the very green scenery, the yellow of the canola and water views as well.
This cache was one of the ones we found and all was replaced as it had been found once both names had been added to the log. Thank you to Deeferdan22 for placing this cache for is to find today.

Staying in Port Lincoln for a while so went out caching with goingplaces2. Enjoyed the country road driving and picking up some caches along the way. Cache was retrieved, log was signed, all was replaced. Job done! TFTC.

This was a wonderfully quick stop and log. I wish the views from my house were as stunning. TFTC
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
After having a successful day yesterday, we awoke with motivation and optimism for the day that was ahead of us. However after having our first geocache find, a rock had hit the vehicle's oil sump, leaving the car inoperable and requiring the car to be towed to a mechanic in Port Lincoln. The morning was then spent addressing the vehicle's repair plan, and then trying to salvage the remainder of our weekend's plans. We walked around the centre of Port Lincoln, before finding a hire vehicle for us, and then the afternoon was spent driving around the area. It was interesting seeing Port Lincoln's marinas and also caught glimpse of the shark cages. We ended up drowning our sorrows in the evening (whilst celebrating gridge98's birthday) at the craft brewery, which was probably a highlight of the day.
What a monolith! How about having something like that in your front yard! At least the search location was obvious, with the cache quickly found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Deeferdan22 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Quick stop here cache was easily found and is all good
Well what a day it was, a day filled with more downs than ups and but overall a few caches were found in and around port Lincoln. Davidwazza and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula for a weekend away to clean up as much as we could and collect a few new LGAs for Davidwazza. This morning 2nd cache in we ended up cracking the oil sump in the car and having to sort out what to do and how to fix the issue. Lucky a mechanic was at hand and a prolonged trip was soon scheduled and a hire car was in hand. I guess things happen when you use a car for things that it’s not made to do.
Other than that a great day out.
Thanks for the cache

Found. Tftc. Caching our way around PL. Good way to see lots of things we may have missed
The cache name made sense when we arrived at GZ. Accurate coordinates and a familiar type of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Deeferdan22 for the cache.
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Camped up on the hill behind Port Lincoln, we set out to do a tiki tour of town, using geocaching as our guide, next closest all the time. This took us on a pretty roundabout journey around town, searching for 10, finding 8 and dnfing 2
This was closest to our camp, and was a quick find on an extremely windy Port Lincoln day. Thanks Deeferdan22 for the hide.

I was down in Pt Lincoln with Laighside Legends for the long weekend and our plan was to head out and cache our way towards Coffin Bay and the surrounding area. It was a warm and pleasant day to be out and all caches that were found were in reasonably good condition. As it got close to the midday event we bumped into Mr Tardis and one of the nearby caches. The nearby event was an enjoyable affair, joined my Aussie M&M, Mogni and Mr Tardis, food was eaten and stories were swapped. At the close of the event, we continued to cache around the area before finally heading back to Lincoln for an evening event. It was an enjoyable evening at the pub to end the days caching before heading back to our accommodation in preparation for our next days caching.

Hi there Deeferdan22.
We found your cache **"Monolith"** at 2:25:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15727).
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around Port Lincoln today. On our journey we found a wide variety of container types amongst our 19 caches (& 7 DNF's) today. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
Roaming Wendy very kindly came out with us for the rest of today and as a result, our find count increased as did the laughter in the car
Thank you for your company [^]
DNF! The third of three DNFs in a row
