Logs

30-Jan-22
There has been a buildup of caches around the Mid North Coast that have not been found for quite some time with multiple DNF's, Write Note, or Needs Maintenance and where the CO has not been able to follow up or are no longer caching. Consequently these cache appear to have been abandoned.

These caches need to be archived to stop visitors to our region from being disappointed after in some cases having to make a significant effort to get to GZ only to find nothing.

In this instance the sign to get information to work out the co-o0rds is missing.

Heading into the forest to do a few ashes and realised this multi would be quick one which is our typical style so grabbed the numbers, did the maths and headed to GZ. It was looking like a DNF until we read the hint and realised it was lying on the edge of the rod so fixed it up a bit. We added our name to the log and re hid. TFTC.

Lovely day for some Father's Day caching on our way to Wilsons River. Double checked our coordinates and had some idea of what we were looking for. Still here and looking good! Love your work Lightsaberlodge. TFTC.

23-Apr-17
On our way out from the forest, we stopped for this cache. Found the requested information and performed the calculations. However doing a stupid calculation mistake we first ended up thoroughly searching through a thick Lantana bush, before realising our mistake. Once correction was done, the cache was quickly found. We also realised that this qualified for us as an un-loved cache, in that it had not been found for more than six months prior to today.

We knew this would be a tricky one, finding the co - ords for gz was easy (we love simple multis)! Now to gz and thankfully a quick search turned up the very well camoed cache, great job on the camo, we loved it.

In the company of pprass and Richo66, we headed out to find a number of caches that requires a 4wd, well most of them anyway. Thanks to pprass who kindly took us around to get some extra smilies.
Arrived at GZ looking around patiently when Peter tossed the cache well should I say placed the cache so we could see it ( I think that may of been a hint to hurry up) haha cute cache. TFTC lightsaberlodge

TFTC, Peter (Pprass) kindly offered to take both myself and Hayley (TeamNurseHayley) around to 8 caches in this area which he had prev done but we had'nt. After a quick solve of the req co-ords Hayley and I started looking around GZ, Mr impatient Peter knew where the cache was and quickly grabbed it and threw it between Hayley and I before we could really have a good look. We quickly signed the log from the clever camo.

11:50 Out for a good morning's caching in company of DiMorgan, pprass and Browngang. The latter two already had this cache in the bag and they watched on as DiMorgan and I had a quick hunt for a trademark creative lightsabrelodge cache. TFTC LSLs

25-Oct-15
This was a perfect weather day to go caching into the country side. Today we were in company with pprass, LHB Fans & Browngang.
We noted the number of letters required as we went up the mountain, on return we stopped to looke for this small cache.
This is exactly the type of cache I would expect from lightsaberlodge. Always something a little different, we wern't dissapointed.
Thanks for placing this cache lightsaberlodge

09/08/2014, 11:57:00 AM, GAFF1, Up for the weekend for the Smoke Spotter event, our first cache for the day.
We parked at the sign and took note of the required letters. We punched in the coordinates for the next way point and after a short stroll we soon located a nice hide with a fresh log.
SL, Cache in good condition.

This one I looked for about a year ago with Cookie who confirmed at that stage it was missing, so it is nice to see an almost blank log sheet. Juddda had already gone on to set up camp so I missed him.
Unable to leave anything.

I accidentally said we found. We didn't find after long search. Think It may have been stolen.
I'm using the app on iPhone and didn't realise there was a didn't find section.

That is interesting! Just have this one on my 'watch list', and noticed a Find, on a ?Missing / Stolen? cache! Some time last year I was going past and had a look, and couldn't see it, but I think I did send a message mentioning that. If not, it will pay to have a check of the Road-side Toad.

Searched for 20 minutes all over. Think it may have been stolen.

03-Nov-12
I was up here for the recent bushfires. The intersection was the staging area for operations. So I couldn't resist wandering over and checking on it. All's good, no bush fire in the immediate GZ.
Cheers LSL.

0010 GAFF3 As previously mentioned a rather stormy night, with lots of lightning and blustery wind. Not too many branches down, but lots of leaves. Ah, another Caching Calendar day filled, and another for the Night Caching thesis. And will have to get the Hastings MAP's Challenge published.
Easily found the required information, and then onto find the cache. Thought it may have been another waypoint, but no, it was the cache, and all was dry in there.

on the way to lunch at the 'tower' stopped to check on cache. curious how the tree was occupied by a flock of birds busily chirping away,as I approached. Nice music surrounding a cache check!

all good and ready to go!

24-Apr-11
During an extra long Easter weekend of camping at Number 1 Fire Tower, I decided to have a crack at finding this one on the way back from a resupply run (loaf of bread, carton of milk and a newspaper from Beechwood store).
Very clever lightsaberlodge...
This is obviously very well hidden as some lady had obviously hidden behind this tree to relieve herself. I removed the tell-tale paper...

13-Feb-11
It was a bit of a rainy afternoon and I had been in the office doing "paperwork" all morning, I needed to get out, but what to do? I know a cache!! Decided to have another go at the roadside toad. On the way out to Bellangry I came across a car that had lost control and overturned with 3 occupants. The accident had happened about 30 mins before I turned up and they had already phoned a friend but they looked pretty shaken up, as there was nothing else I could do for them I continued on. It was a pretty stark reminder that these country roads are dangerous and that we need to drive with caution especially in the wet. I got to the first waypoint and thankfully the gps was playing ball today, didn't take long for me to find the cache and sign the log. Thanks for the cache lightsaberlodge, another good one.

29-Jan-11
I think we left the caching mojo a home today as nothing seemed to go right. Couldn't get the GPS to settle at all so didn't really even get a good starting point to search for this one. We had a quick look around but nothing turned up, probably staring us in the face, thats the way it goes sometimes.

Big Grin We found this cache at 9.45 today on the way to an Australia Day outing with friends. We finally beat the Browngang, LeDug and Molenchamps to this!!! This was almost as good as a FTF and we were second. We love the cache and the clues were so appropriate. Did this one the way up to Cobrabald and a couple on the way back. Keep up the interesting caches lightsaberlodge.

After Meeting at the Doughnut our convoy made its way up to the Wildbull/Cobrabald camping area for a magnificent Australia day, A few of the gang did,nt know of this area, I told them thats because i only take the very best of people to these spots, the weather was perfect and we arrived Early to make the most of the day. After leaving and making our way down towards Tellegragh point Pub we stopped to pick up this interesting cache on the way. After looking at the map and picking another spot to explore we headed of for a refreshing beer.
