Time to bring this one to the attention of a reviewer as there has been no response to my NM log.
Time to add my name to the DNF list. I even went back for a second look after reading previous logs (we were staying in Tarcutta overnight.) One log I read referred to a step but I couldn't see anywhere a cache could be hidden. Never mind, another time.
Quick look while doing a midnight coffee red bull run on the way to melb from syd. Alas no luck
Ordered a sandwich at the cafe, checked for nearby caches and there's one out the front. Went for a look but muggles sitting out the front. So went and waited for sandwich, 30 mins later the wrong one arrived. Didn't want to wait any longer so left, no cache, no sandwich.
A bit to out in the open for a daytime find so I had to skip it. Looked in most of the normal places but no luck.
We decided to have a quick trip into Victoria for the weekend to find some caches, so that we could have some colour on the map for that state. We had no luck for this one (our first for the day) despite looking around for ages.
An easy find. A visit to the craft shop got us an absolutley delicious fruit cake.
With a car parked right at GZ and the passenger sitting with his door open and constantly lookin our way didn't give us much opportunity for a prolonged search. A quick scan of the area had us come up empty- handed this time. A quick fill at the service station and we were once again soon heading South towards Wangaratta.

Almost gave up on this one... the hint is not longer applicable and where I found it, the cache looked like a bit of rubbish chucked in that spot. We worked on putting it back a little more discretely.
Up there in the top 5 of fresh burgers ever experienced... and took advantage of the newly established rest area - Hoping to see how it all grows over the next decade.

PS Sorry for late log - interwebs back on line

Decided to stop and support the local economy and bought lunch at the cafe on our way back from Albury. We initally had difficulty locating this one as the previous logs and hint didn't help. After widening our search area and excluding searching under steps ywurry had the cache in hand.

P.S. Sorry for the late log!

5290 + 580 = 5870. Second find on a run down to the Wagga Wagga region on an ACT Long Weekend.
Took a few minutes with this one as we pondered the clue. Brute force won out in the end as my partner in crime made the find. Thanks Ianix !!

Found this cache at noon on our way to Melbourne and Tasmania for a few weeks. This is rather a bit tricky, as the cache has been replaced with a film canister(not so long ago) and was behind the big step. Hence it is not now a nano and the clue is of no use.
Let's hope the town, hotel, garages and the smaller businesses can survive. It is still a vital part of our Hume Highway.
Thanks Ianix for the hide.

Hmmmmmmm . . . . . not really sure about this cache replacement caper unless you have direct contact with the CO. We were expecting a quick find for a D1.5/T2 and as we were pushed for time, our very quick look in all the likely places yeilded nothing.
NOTE TO CO: Given the number of DNF's, perhaps this cache should be disabled until it can be checked out.
Thanks for the hunt anyway Ianix .

Given the recent DNFs, time for a check by the owner to see if it is still there. Cheers Ianix.
09/04/2012 12:28 DNF: vdisappointing. given the number of dnf's perhaps the owner could post a note to indicate if it is still there?
Add me to the list of DNFers on the way to the Oz Mega event. It seemed pretty obvious what we should be doing to find it, maybe it's been dropped.
Had a look for this cache with Irontoad but we couldn't find it even after about 15 minutes of searching. Like the others - I think this one has gone. Please consider replacing as this is a great spot.
We had a stop over here on our way home and spent a few minutes searching for the cache, but no luck
This is my first time visiting this town since the bypass was opened. I never thought it would be so easy to cross that road. TFTC.
The log only has space for one more entry.

Found it, love a micro like this, couldn't sign log as couldn't get out & scared we wouldn't get it back in! Always loved Tarcutta. GOYA
wanted to do this one but missed the turn off for it which is new to me even though i came down this way last holidays. such a shame how they do bypassing just to sve two minutes off peoples journeys so now lees people will have a job. missed our faithful fuel stop because of this and almost ran out. i guess Holbrook's next in the firing line for bypasses.
#201 is recorded after the replacement of the Sturt Highway Junction replacement cache was delivered.
Why not have a little look at the new piece of road in the area. Well another very small town just got a whole lot smaller, I remember when this cafe use to be the light of the town with 30-40 truck drivers all hungry and after a feed and a drink of some kind.
This was probably one of the best stops on the road and to not even be here any more is a real shame.
Thanks Ianix for a sneaky hide, until the clue cliked in and then it was a matter of the formalities.

I went to a motorcycle rally near Wee Jasper this weekend, and picked this up during my travels. tftc.
The bypass of the town is now completed. As it was a sunday, it was dead quite. I imagine that it'll be much less busier from now on.
Had it in our hands and signed overall quickly.
Had it in our hands and signed overall quickly.
Needed the hint to find. TFTC. We were very sad to discover that the towns bypass is now complete. It was like a ghost town.
Found with Nilmerg5 and AN_Rastan. Town is so quite now that you could have sat in the middle of the old Hume Hwy for 10mins, without getting hit by a car. Good for progress, but sad for the town.
Quick find on the way back to Tumut. Opened the little gate a grabbed myself a beautiful technicolour pen. TFTH
Hey Green Geckos can you please return the pen to the owner, I am pleased you found the gate.
Now I know why I could not find it last time.
Terrain level 1 means that it is accessable from a wheelchair. And when the next cacher finds it and looks down, yes that is my tecnocolour caching pen I dropped....
Cache terrain needed to be changed, I would suggest a 2 at least.

There are 7 spots near the start of the roll, positions 29 to 35. I will replace log when they are full.
Found on my way to Sydney for the MCBC raid. I have a feeling the new by pass will kill this town, there are already signs of shops shut up and forsale. TFTC
Overshot the mark here at first when we pulled up but once stopped in the correct place we soon had the cache in hand. Finding somewhere to write on it became the next challenge. Didn't do well there but it's done. Have done other caches not far from here in years gone by.
Thanks Ianix

Good to see a cache back in this town (even if it is a nano!).
The town was very busy today, but not around GZ. It looks like this cacfe hasn't seen any business for a long while.
Chewin' wrestled with the nano container, but eventually stuffed it back.
Thanks, Robmc.

It is sad to see the cafe closed. I have stopped there many times. Perhaps this cache is there to mark the cafe as much as the halfway point. Thanks.

A quick stop in the nearby parking bay for toilet break & to stretch the legs. Woke up & brain not working well. Started walking the wrong way, but got there in the end.
Found without any problems today, although I have to say that the terrain is definitely not a 1. It is probably a 2 and this may have helped the previous DNFs.
I also have to say that I am not sorry that the cafe has closed, although the servo is little better.

Searched high n low here, and had no luck at all.
I'm guessing it's back to one of those 'tricky' spots again.
Thanks anyway Ianix

Found after a short search, road was daily busy.

Yay! I was stumped for a while, and called the cache owner. He explained that it has been returned into too difficult positions lately for a 1.5 difficulty nano. He didn't actually know himself where it was. Eventually it was revealed and of the owners request I have replaced into a slightly more obvious position. TFTC Ianix! Was lots of fun.
Found with Big Matt and Shell, steeba and The Rats during a quick 4 day bash down to Victoria.
Our second attempt at this one and a little easier in the daylight.
Thanks Ianix for the cache.

Out for a caching road trip through parts of Victoria with FarmerFrenzten, Steeba and Big Matt & Shell. This was one of the many caches we found.
Its sad to see that Tarcutta will probably soon be a ghost town once the bypass is finished.
Thanks

We stopped here in the drizzle and darkness on our way down to Victoria without success but daylight made the difference and the nano was retrieved. TFTC!

Found with FarmerFrentzen, steeba and The Rats on our Victoria Invasion trip. We had tried to find this one on our way south but in the rain we pulled the pin. On the way back today we made a simple find.
Thanks to Ianix for the cache.

Looked everywhere but didn't find anything. GPS was saying in the back yard... perhaps another day!
Well our trip home from Hotham to Wollongong was on a very tight time budget this year, but having never found a cache on today's date I insisted on one stop. This was it. I missed the cache, but Chip found it... why is that always the cache!
It took forever to roll and re-roll the cache log to get it back in the container.
It is a shame that the cafe is now closed, we headed further up the road for lunch instead.
Cheers

Had a bit of a scout around and couldn't spot but geokid came and helped and spotted straight away. Hmmm! Thanks for the hide.
Found on the way from Adelaide to Sydney for a work trip. I was struggling with this one a bit, but then the clue helped me out. A quick stretch of the legs, a toilet stop, then back on the road. SL. TFTC.

1542 Found by baby&Mrs gopher in the company of Team Ladava at 1710 on an overcast damp afternoon. We tried to find this nano early June but after 20 minutes thought it had been muggled. The co-ords show cache at the edge of the footpath. With the hide being only so small here are the co-ords that may place the next finder just a little closer. SL visited CacheMover coin Tnx Ianix
Found by Team Ladava around 17.15 with our Geocaching Mum & Dad baby&Mrs gopher with the drizzly starting to clear.

I have checked the cache and it is still there, it wasn't placed exactly back in it's place and I felt that it was unsafe to leave it where I found it so I moved it closer to the step, please replace it as you find.
It is sad to see such a great cafe closed after many years of service.
It is sad to see such a great cafe closed after many years of service.
Alas another DNF. Needs to be checked/replaced by the cache owner please. Also the cafe mentioned in the description has since closed!
Probably wouldn't have attempted this if I'd seen all the DNFs. But we found it. First time I've ever actually stopped here - except for the time the tree was down over the bridge just before Tarcutta. TFTC
After poking around for a bit, the Cafe owners came out to finally ask what the hell it was that made people stop and come for a look. After explaining how it all worked, we then proceeded to show them how hard it was to find a micro...
Nope, no find today. Like others I get the rubbish bin as GZ. Shop was closed so had time to look, but no find.
Working on a list for an upcoming trip and didn't realise I had forgotten to log this one on our last visit so here is a VERY LATE DNF log.
I can't believe I had no idea where to search for a 1.5/1. Like baby and Mrs Gopher the bin seemed likely but too many muggles to attempt fondling that while being observed.
A DNF for baby&Mrs gopher. The GPS'r wouldn't settle at all this morning and was taking us up to 1 building away and around the bin area so gave this nano a miss
Tnx Ianix

Found at 10.20am GAFF1. Our second cache on the start of our 5 month trip to the west coast and we unexpectedly found it in the first place we looked. We haven't got a good record with nano's, but sometimes we get lucky, or was it because we were relaxed at the start of our trip?
Thanks lanix.
Thanks lanix.
Seen as there had been a couple of recent finds we thought we would stop and have another go and was spotted in the first spot checked. Maybe a little cache creep or someone replaced it for you but it's definitely there now.
Cafe was closed tonight so muggle free. TFTC.

Okay so I haven't had time to do geocaching in last month but I'm enabling this since 2 people found it. They have done much better then me
Reperio at 1300. Not sure why this one is offline??? Happened to be passing by and had this one in the GPS so parked across the road and wandered over, and after a short search, the nano was found...The cache is in perfect condition.

This is a late log but we found the container in the expected location. Of course geowife told me where it was going to be but didn't look herself. Signed log and replaced container. Ianix - had you looked on Saturday as it was there on Sunday. Will have to stop at this cafe when it is open. Thanks.
Out & about on a day trip with DJ Rascal, we thought we would take a slight detour to grab this one, but with no luck. Checked all likely spots, and referred to the hint with still no luck.
Called a previous finder & it wasnt in the spot they had found it, hopefully its still there.
Glad the cafe wasnt open today either which helped with the search. We'll swing by on our next trip up this way.

How could I not find my own bro's cache!? and such easy difficulty! GPS decided to take me to two step upable spots, both which came up with nothing.... could the darkness make it harder? Or is it gone? who knows... maybe come back another day.
#201 - after being totally soaked in the rain while finding our 200th cache, this one at least provided a little shelter - or did it? GeoDad made the find just a GeoMum was stepping up. TFTC
Well it was early in the morning and all was quite on the street, and with nearby roadwork’s south bound traffic was being controlled by portable signal lights which gave me plenty of time to look without being to conspicuous. I found the little blighter and then realized that I had left my cache tool kit at home which contained tweezers. I took ages to extract the log to sign, and then a car pulled up in front of me and the occupants headed for the café. Franticly I replaced the log and then the cache just as they came and sat at one of the outside tables. Close one!
#969 @ 7.50am. Had to get out of Albury with the expected high temps so decided to head for the hills. This was the first of our day out & thankfully the place was still pretty sleepy this time of morning so no probs with retrieval today. TNLNSL TFTC Ianix - nice to start the day with a find [^]
It's great to see another cache back in Tarcutta. This was our first cache of the day. Being short asses as we are, we found this one very difficult to reach, after perserveering we finally reached the little bugger and placed it back as far as we could. SL TNLN TFTC
TFTC Found with Hinklenator nice sneaky hide A lot of new road works going on in this town.

Well what more could a cacher want. A day off, a motorbike with a full tank of fuel, some great company and a new cache begging to be found. Set off with the Roostas on another motorbike adventure stopping briefly along Mates Gully Road to grab another cache.
We arrived at Tarcutta where Roostaman made a quick find. Joint FTF with Roostaman at 1325.
Thanks Ianix for the cache and the opportunity for another FTF.

Found on great sunny day for a motorbike ride in search of a new cacher's first cache.
Got the notification a little late last night so a day trip was planned instead. Tarcutta is actually fairly busy in the daytime too now with all the roadworks going on. Parked in the shade & then made a quick find and logged a joint *FTF* with Fredd6603. Then we checked out the cafe & got some refreshments for the trip back. TFTC Ianix
