As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Hi
It appears that this cache has been inactive for quite some time. Is it going to be replaced or should it be archived to make room for possible future caches? If the cache owner does not contact me within Three Weeks, I'll assume the cache needs to be archived.
While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.
Thanks for your understanding,
Regards,

This one was missing when we went past Xmas 2016 - we were enjoying the bush and liked the writeup. Had assumed it would be maintained by the time we returned this year - but, no. Suggest that it's well past time for the CO to either replace the cache or else archive it to let someone else use the spot.
Most of the log has been hollowed out so there is hardly any room for the cache in the log I looked in. Quite sure it's gone.
Like others before us we had no luck with this one, looking the the D/T rating if it was there we probably would have found it. thanks anyway
Still no luck since my last visit. This time there was two of us and we gave the area a thorough search but nothing. This makes 8 DNFs since the last find in Jan 2016. Maybe time to check or archive
Like the previous 5-6 cacher's I was not able to find this one. Can the CO check it out please.
Off on a three day tramp, Flora car park to Dry rock shelter (4th), over Gordons Pyramid to Arthur ridge (5th), slept under fly and then it was too windy to go up Arthur on the 6th which was a shame. Five kids (ages 7,8,10,11,& 12) and three adults. I was so impressed with my kids and how they walked (and talked and sang and slept...), I had a few worries before we left but I was the slowest!
Had a good look for this cache but no sign of it.

had a good look on the way up and another on the way down lots of decaying logs but no cache
On our 3-day tramp from Flora to Splungeons Rock Shelter and then to Flanagans Hut over Baton saddle we found a few geocaches. Thank you for this nice hide on our first day. What an amazing area to tramp in!
This is a nice place, it is about time I got up for a look, we did a quick walk down to the Flora hut and back, we will need to return for some serious tramping. I do a bit of stoat trapping myself, down south.
Cheers and thanks,
S.t.

Thanks for the quick cache in such a lovely place looking forward to my walk up the hill TFTC
My daughter and I geocached our way up to Salisbury Lodge. We saw a lot of birdlife including Blue Ducks. TFTC!
Looked for a while before giving up. As I was leaving something caught my eye and there it was. A bit distant from where my GPS pointed.
Found this one on the way back from Gridiron. What a beautiful place to spent the night! Cache took me a while before I'd found it. One of my group members helped me out.
Nice find after going up towards Mt Arthur. Great alpine flowers and environs.

Thanks for the cache.

Up in Nelson again, visiting my parents. My mission for the day was to collect some information at the Gridiron Shelter for a Christchurch Multi. A glorious day to be out in the bush. I cycled in - just over half an hour. After collecting the required info and finding a cache near there, I headed back. 40 mins to Flora from Gridiron. Stopped at Flora to find a cache and then another 20 minutes up to the saddle. Stopped to check the GPS to see where the cache was, only to find it was at my feet! Took TB and left TB. I've been here many times over the years, and but never tire of coming here. A quick 5 mins back to car park (after walking up the ridge to find another cache first). TFTC.

A nice walk in the national park; a bit of geocaching on the way. Also, I dropped off Steven, my very first trackable.
Kudos to those who volunteer their time and resources to enhance this wonderful area. TFTC!
A great day to be walking in the park. Coordinates led me in the wrong direction for a start, but a second try and logic worked eventually. TFTC
A not so quick find after a day with Gryke checking a Friends of Flora trap line on Mt Hodder.

The start of a tramp up Mt Arthur and over Gordons Pyramid a bit better than the wind of yesterday.
[green] Down in Motueka for a family Christmas get together. Sister says we should go tramping, so her family (cacher Bijouxtoo) and I head to Salisbury Hut. And boy, did we ever pick the right time!
Everything was in flower - hebes, gentians, eyebrights, kanuka, mountain daisies, even saw three varieties of orchid. Even the carnivorous sundews were in flower! Bright purple and basket mushrooms, and some little yellow ones growing straight out of a wall. Master 7 claimed he was the first to see the basket mushrooms, so we named them after him - Basket Mushroom Sebastionii. There were robins at our feet, bellbirds in the trees, strange and weird huts. Even the weather looked after itself.
The car park was full. We only got a spot because someone else was leaving as we arrived. Despite that we saw very few people on the track. This cache is a nice easy find, everything in order.
My first tramp in the Nelson region. Have to come back sometime.

Just where we thought it would be. Talked to a mum and her 2 children who had come from Flora Hut, they said they had heard the kiwis. So amazing that they are out in the day! Thanks for making us aware this was going on. TFTC
The GPS certainly took us all over the place, but since this was our last one for the day, we felt pretty determined! Found easily enough once we exhausted all possibilities suggested by the clue.
Found with nickgastrell. TFTC.

Found after a long day on Mt Arthur but great to get to the top and then geocache all the way down with Jackie of jackieandgrant
A quick find at the start of a day walk to Mt Arthur. Great to see all this work going on, and I had a very interesting talk later in the day to a person at Flora Hut who was catching kiwi to change their radio location devices. All volunteer work, top marks to them! Signed log, TFTC
Took a wee while with signal jumping all over the place. Eventually found with corenz and whanau. TFTC
A quick look on the way up had the GPS jumping around and we had no success. Decided to leave it until we were returning and look properly then. On the way back the GPS was very helpful, indicated a different area from before then zeroed about 2m from the cache. We were grateful for the quick find as it was now raining. No idea why we had better reception in the rain than we had had earlier, but we are not complaining. Thanks.
A quick pick in between the many many walkers out for a breath of air between Christmas and New Year.
No luck on this one but it was only a 5 min search as the family were in a hurry to get back to the car and get out of the cold wind.
As I walked down I decided to leave this one for the next trip to Clouston's Mine. But as I got close I saw something that didn't look right in a location I hadn't checked out last time. Surely not..... Surely yes! Oh well, found it when I didn't mean to. This geocaching is a funny hobby. Final cache for the day - glad to get home after a big day out. TFTC.
Nope, couldn't see it. It was dark mind you. On the way back I saw other places to look, but as I'll be back I've left it for next time.
First find for me this morning. An early start with Kiwi Explorer. Nice one. A bit later on and much further up the mountain we encountered a person with a 'TV antennae' trying to track the kiwi that had been released. TFTC, Biggles.
Second cache of the day for me. Quickly found by Biggles while I was checking all the wrong spots. TFTC.
The GC website was down this morning so we ventured up hoping for some clean logs.
Have to have words with New World about giving their staff Tuesdays off
First of a whole bunch of 2nd TF's.
First time up here in about ten years.
Great to see the hard work the volunteers are doing.
Left a coin.

Yay a FTF I dont get many of these !!!! We got back from a trip to this area on Sunday to find that a whole string of caches along this route had been published !!!!! After swearing a little we thought oh well tomorrows a public holiday and we have to work so they will be done - surprised when on Monday night no one logged a FTF so we decided to try and grab Rangis new one and this one then head home and have a late brunch - hmm we always seem to do things the hard way success and we found this cache after quite a few mins looking in the wrong place !!!! however I ended up laying my hands on the prize first then decided with nothing other then a small bottle of water and 2 oranges we would head a bit further up the track !!! needless to say it turned into an epic day that saw us not quite reach the summit before admitting defeat and returning home for breakfast at 7pm tonight thanks for the cache is a good hide near a good cause signed log
Was up in this area two days ago and this was published 3 hrs after we left home so after doing a couple of local caches to home we decided to give this one ago for a FTF. No plans to go any further as im still suffering from a previous tramp so a nice casual walk up in sandshoes was the plan .
Cache was found and signed then GPS checked ..... mmmmmmm not far to the next one shall we................... ?
Guess what happened next!
