Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had decided to stay in St Bathans & do some of the caches around the district so this morning, we decided to pack a lunch & go on a road trip the second area we visited was Lauder we have previously been through here when biking the Rail Trail nobody around today so the cache was easily found interesting, we wondered what all the straw, grass & associated stuff was hanging out between the two signboard panels, and then we noticed the birds nest, complete with eggs, hope we havent disturbed them at all we soon had the cache in hand, logbook completed & safely returned to its position were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,626 for us!
In New Zealand we are now driving over the mountains to our next destination. Here we enjoy the landscape. On the way we stop for a good view or for a cache. Many thanks to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
We are slowly winding our way towards Alexandra and enjoying stopping to pick up caches along the way. This one took a wee bit of searching for, definitely hindered by the fact I'm vertically challenged. Thanks for putting a cache here
The next leg of rattll and my South Island road trip, whatever number this one is. Today, we're starting in Middlemarch, heading up to Ranfurly, then coming back down the Manuherikia River to Alexandra. After our morning cycle, time to hit the road. We've discovered that one of our indicator lights on the van has stopped working, nowhere to get it fixed before Alex, so no time to dawdle (except for some caches, of course). This one gave us some pause, taking quite a hunt to find. How many hiding places could there be? Finally located, although a long arm required. All good. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Lucky last for us today as we have reached our destination for today, all ok here signed and replaced. Thanks for the placement and the smiley.
Staying in the Lauder School B&B ready to begin another "Mountains to Sea" cycle trip. The B&B was an excellent choice for group accommodation - - - of course would work for groups of one upwards. It was a great experience being immersed in the history of Lauder. - - - I do wish though that I hadn't looked up Harry Lauder songs before my trip - - - roamin' in the gloamin' on the bonnie banks of Clyde - - - oh no, here it is, back in my head again .Zipped over here before breakfast to make the find. Thanks for the cache .
With easter weekend upon us we decided to do a quick trip to Otago so we could ride the rail trail bike track. This has been on our bucket list for a very long time and so we decided last week that we would pack up the campervan and come and do it. Yesterday I had decided to start in Alex and follow the rail trail up to Clyde then bike the river track back to Alex then on to Lauder. Todays plan was to start in Lauder and go to Ranfurly. This is our first cache this morning, thankfully gk could reach it easily. There were the cutest sheep nearby, they came over for a scratch, there was even a fairly new lamb that was skipping and jumping around the paddock. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
Convinced hubby to go for a drive from Alex and drop off me & the bike so I could ride back to the caravan. Was a longer drive than expected but found a junction with the Otago rail trail and the road near Oturehua. A fantastic ride of 60kms in the end.The first section to here was fantastic - bridges, tunnels and views Quick stop here for the find and a drink.TFTC
Our NEW ZEALAND - TASMANIA - AUSTRALIA JOURNEY takes us to beautiful places and provides us with an incredible number of wonderful moments and experiences.Occasionally we also visit a few GeoCaches along the way.Three days on the rail trail by bike....Here we have reached the end of the 1st stage and quickly found the "invisible" one....Thank you for placing, maintaining and caring snapfish2 from SwitzerlandPS: Translated with the Deepl app
This one was out of reach but managed to find something to help out. Placed a little closer for the next finder. tftc

Today we cycled on the Otago Rail Trail from Auripa to Clyde. This was our first cache on this route. We also left a small trackable here.
Great place to buy a delicious lunch - and to learn about some history as we biked the Trail. TFTC.
Found on a family cycle trip. Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2486
#356 we spent the New Year with biking on Otago rail trail. We picked the best part of it, great weather and enjoyed it. Cache was found while waiting for our shuttle as we finished in Lauder.
I had a nice stroll around the station before searching for the cache. All good. Thanks
A selfie stick comes in handy for vertically challenged geocachers. Nice location. TFTC!
Glorious day reminds us of our time as support crews for our daughter competing in the Gold Rush multi sport event. Lander was a transition from a run leg to a mountain bike leg to Tarras via Thompson Gorge.
Muggle central today but a good place to hide it, and it can be retrieved without being noticed. TFTC
One of the many on the rail trail that we could also find driving through today. Some people were here sorting a bike so showed no interest in us.
Thanks.
Thanks.
On a trip south from Tauranga. Nice to collect smiles along the way. Start of OTR. All good here.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.
