This didn't load, but I was cycling the Clutha Gold Trail and took the short detour. Took me a little while to find it and got wet with a heavy shower soon after. TFTC
Fairly quick find. Too hot to look at the graves unfortunately. But a beautiful day just the same. Lovely tribute. TFTC Guwapo
Came all the way from Vancouver BC Canada to find this cache, lol. Thanks for being part of the adventure!
What a cool way to honour and share the memory of a loved one. Was really interesting looking around at all the very old gravestones - very peaceful and beautiful location.
Out with the daywalks exploring the not yet opened new section of the Clutha Gold Cycle Trail, so stopped to grab this one on the way.
Container all good and logbook was dry.

Location points exactly, just had to watch the foliage. P&Vee and Hubbies wandered through this Cemetry. Lots of History here. TFTC
After a lovely lunch at the Beaumont Hotel we are returning home with Mr & Mrs VDH56 from completing (apart from one cache)on the back road to Beaumont
Mrs VDH56 found this one and afterwards we had a nice walk looking at the graves including finding Jonathan's one. There are certainly a lot of Cutler names here. Sometimes life is just not fair.

That is such a sad story.
Cache quickly found after a walk from the road as stock were grazing the roadway into the cemetery today

Have tried this one before with no luck. Very thick under growth meaning the cache is not at hint location. TFTC
Cache 800 My day trip today has gotten off to a bad start I’ve been very cache blind today, I have only found a couple so far. There is no reception here on my phone but I thought I’d chance my luck anyway and with a little fantail showing me the way this cache was a nice quick find YAY, cache is in excellent condition T4TC
Such a sad end to a promising life. His family must have been heartbroken. Thanks for bringing us to this spot on this beautiful, bluebird day. The hint was very helpful and then soon found the cache. TFTC.
Got this one snagged and tagged. Cheers. Thanks for the interesting cache page info.
Wednesday 11 November. Its Balclutha, Stirling, Tokomairiro, Waitahuna, Mt Stewart windfarm and back to Balclutha today. Lets get exploring.
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

A slight diversion off the highway as light fading. Cache all good, thanks for the hint tftc
Found today after visiting friends nearby. Cache in good condition after over a year without a find. Tftc
Looking for relatives that could be in here. Found a cache as well. All good. What a shame some of the headstones are in such disrepair for an area with a rich history.
just come from dunedin airport and travelling toward millers flat and so this was a short detour off the main road and a quick pick up thanks for this cache.
Not sure why we decided to give this cache a miss on our way through 18 months ago but back today to rectify that. Tragic story and also sad to see the damage to so many old head stones as I walked across to the cache. TFTC # 12,885
Another great country cemetery. It's always interesting to wonder around and look at the name and dates. TFTC
Can remember doing this a few years ago but must have forgotten to log was in the winter time as very wet under foot
Hope I am allowed to log after all this time

What a tragic story, but nice to come and visit Wiatahuna Cemetery, after visting Friends that now live here..We thought it would be a long hunt in the undergrowth but it was quickly found..TFTH
Hurrah it was there all along and the hint had been updated. Thanks for checking and our condolences for your loss. SL and seen the cache returned to the hide. A pity there are so many drench drums littering the grave yard. We only had room in the car for one drum. TFTC
Previous search had gone awry after being distracted by a cute feisty wild white kitten exploding out of the tree cover. The hunt got abandoned for a fruitless feline search. Armed with an updated hint and a good plan wheep found the dry clear cache in hide and SL on return. Chucked in some swag grabbed in a PVC baggy and returned to place. Picked up the other thing and CITO'd one of the drench drums littering the cemetery *(used for the water cache in Dunnas)*. TFTC
Knew his sister so sad. Someone impatient on road lights flashed behind me as I slowed down to turn with indicator on. Then even a toot.
Eleven years ago on Mothers Day JK was taken from us so it was a fitting day for our annual maintenance visit by Guwapo and Papa and pay our respects. Cache found very quickly - yes we knew where it was. Contents all dry and in good order. Had a look for the throw down but didn't find it - not that we spent a lot of time looking. Salamat!
Had a good look where the compass was taking us but no luck. Looked in some other likely places too but still no luck.
It was nice to visit this place.
Sad sorry.

A pretty good cache this one, if not a little sad. It took a few minutes to locate and managed to trigger my hay fever but it was worth it. TFTC team [^]
How very very sad. Sad a hello to Jonathan on my way back to car. Thanks for bringing me here.
Lovely peaceful spot, apologies for the wrong date in the logbook, I lost a day somewhere this week TFTC!!
Lovely walk in the cemetary, Thanks for the cache in a lovely location. RIP J Cutler
There are at least two other young people buried here who died in a similar way. One relative whose grave we visited was about to begin nursing training. If people want to make a difference, letters to your MP or the paper and making submissions to council liquor licensing consultation and government alcohol law reform are a good start.
Found at 3:19:00 p.m. on 26/02/2013.
I'm sure that there was a previous cache here, nice to be back.

A very moving story for this one.
Had a search and found the young man's grave and pondered on why recidivist drunks arn't charged with murder for causing these sort of deaths.

The cemetery is lovingly kept though was boggy in places after recent rain. A very poignant tribute, and a lovely eulogy from Guwapo. I found the account very inspiring; we live on in the memories of those who love, cherish and nurture us. I love the serenity and tranquility of cemeteries, and their invocation to all of us to live life to the absolute zenith of our powers, abilities, and temperaments.
Found on the trip to the NZ mega with Sam walkers. Got to gz and sent young sam walker in to grab the cache. Found quickly while looking at the sheep and reading up about what the cache was about. How sad TFTC
Cache number #13 in the South Island while on my way to the Mega event. Decided on a bit of a detour to fill in the two days prior to registration. First cemetery for this trip but as I'm logging this later it proved not to be the last. Cache looked a bit tossed and abandoned but left it a little more secure. TFTCSL
ps tribute from next to find very appropriate as was the background tribute on the cache page.

A very tragic story but a lovely tribute by Guwapo. The cache contained water which we poured out. The log book was rather damp as well so we replaced the bag the log was in. (Only had a Hello Kitty bag with me sorry). We had a quick wander around the cemetery and paid our respects at Jonathan's grave. TFTC
Came by this cemetery to visit the graves of a prominent Waitahuna family and record our visit.
The container had water in it but the log book is safe and dry in its plastic bag. Dried the cache was best as we could, then returned it.
Found with debsnz.

We found the cache and then found the headstone of Jonathan Keogh.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Another good quick find on a geocaching holiday around the south island. Sad story and a waste of a good life. SL TFTC

A wonderful tribute cache to a man who sounds like he was a genuinely nice guy with a lot to look forward to. Such a terrible shame. Thanks Guwapo (and his family) for sharing this memorial this us. TFTC

Found OK although a rather hidden away resting place for sure.
My condolences to friends and family at this tragedy.

Got covered in scratches retrieving the cache - but isn't that part of the fun?? TFTC.
I do love exploring old gravestones, so bringing me to another cemetery is great. Thanks guwapo & papa.
Bit of a sad story. Just remember you are only as safe as the silliest bugger around you.

Ah....we knew we had been here before. Nice touch by previous and current cache owners.
Between the first and second gates the farmer had filled the paddock with pregnant ewes. Why would you do that when you know that people, possibly in vehicles, may access the cemetery at any time and disturb your sheep when they are at their most vulnerable? Several dead newborn lambs laying on the road in. Just awful for people trying to access the cemetery. I walked in rather than drove. Wonder if this "guardian of the land" objects to the easement across their land for cemetery access?
A straightforward find at a cemetery we have visited previously for a cache. A sad story with the waste of a young life. TFTC
Have been to this cemetery before. Found cache easily. What a tragic waste of a young life.
@1825 The last for us for our day out #13 which fills in a gap in my records, 12s in a day but this is the first 13.
It was very dark by the time we got here and it was a torchlight parade amongst the tombstones. Cold too. I hate winter and it hasn't really started yet. Jonathan's is such a sad story and it was very much in our minds when we were searching and as we left. This tribute cache was a very nice thing to do, Guwapo.
Thanks.
Jim
