There was a DNF and a picture of what looks like medical waste at GZ, so might disable this one until I can take a look.
This took us longer than it should have as we could only search when there weren't muggles passing by. TFTC
Parked right near the gz and managed a nice easy find after searching a few obvious areas. Tftc iamapom.
On night run with team Yarra tonight we had the cover of big truck keeping prying eyes from nearby balconies spotting our torches. Tftc
Last time we came here we searched and searched but did not find. This time I'm glad to say we did. TFTC
After a few days of hectic work, had an afternoon free to grab some caches out this way.
Find this cache was tough! Followed the clues and systematically worked my way along checking potential hiding places. Muggles were relatively few but still were enough to make me wary of potential onlookers.
In the end was about to leave when I finally spotted the it! Phew! Visited some TBs, picked up a 612 TB and will move it on.
Appreciate you being me out to this area and for the cache iamapom.

3rd find of the day.
Didn't take long =]
Needed to lift my spirits after a DNF and this cache did that, yay.
Muggle free.
Cool container. All in great condition.
Took- nothing.
Left- TB.

This one took awhile until the coast was clear of muggles, then down to business, thought I was going to have log a DNF then finally found it TNLN TFTC
When I arrive near GZ.. oh no... not that...
to my surprise found it quickly than I expect.

Thanks iamapom . Nice hide ... lots of activities and a guy sitting in his car

I don't see it as torture, more the opposite and now I have the cache. I remember finding another version of this when I was on holiday in Melbourne back in 2010 when I first started caching. Thanks iamapom for the hide.
Thanks for the cache. Cool cache. Found with new geotools from the nearby event. Found with McLookers.
This one took a little patience. With plenty of Saturday morning activity, waited for the coast to be clear before discovering the cache.
That makes two torture chambers now!

Caching after the event today with Tomstache. Geokid made the find using the clue. Great camo. Liked the cache. Thanks for the hide.
Found it on a drizzly day. Dropped off a TB wanted to go to New Zealand. Hope Melbourne will be a good city to help move it along toward its goal. TFTC
I dropped by this cache after finding a nearby multi. Not many cars or muggles in the carpark at this time on a Saturday so I was free to search. After a bit of poking around, without a stick, I decided that there were too many hiding spots to search so I took a squiz at the hint. I soon found the excellently camo'd cache and signed the log at 6:05 pm. TNLN. I then returned the cache carefully to its hiding spot.
Thanks iamapom for the great hide. I remember the place as a not so torturous 10-pin bowling alley where my friends and I used to have a fun time. I haven't been to this newish torture chamber but I've been to some like it. Unfortunately my sense of direction isn't too good and I kept getting on the equipment the wrong way around which was not only torturous for me but also for all my fellow inmates who nearly exploded from laughter watching me.

Found this one today after the event. I had previously searched for this one with Irontoad unsuccessfully that day. Tonight I was determined to find this one and ignored some people in the carpark a way away (not sure what they were doing there after 10pm at night - but also didn't want to know!). Eventually I found it after a very long search also without a geo-pokey thing and signed the log before returning to its hide.
Thanks for the cache iamapom.
Thanks for the cache iamapom.
After about a 10 min search with jimmytherat cache located. Did not need pokey stick but great camo. Thanks
On our way home from a night out in town we stopped at few caches on the way, on arriving to gz it took a bit of poking before an eventual cache was found but we almost missed it. tftc iamapom.
When I realised where this one was likely to be hidden I was a little daunted by the possibilities. Then thankfully I remembered the hint. I took the CO's advice and employed a makeshift 'pokey stick', and ended up finding this cache by sound rather than sight. It was helpful that the carpark was relatively quiet. I didn't know there was a pool here - worth remembering in the coming months! Thanks for the cache iamapom!
With a bit of time up my sleeve this afternoon I decided a touch of caching would fit the bill. This was my fourth find out of the hand full gathered today.
The hide seemed obvious enough, but with my compass bouncing to and fro it still took a while to make the find. Luckily a friend arriving back in town called and helped me to look a little less suss with this simple subterfuge.
Found the cache safe and sound which now has an extra signature contained within.
Thanks for the fun.

Tried to find this one today with no luck. I believe we was looking in the wrong place. Have to give it another try a little while latter
Wow I found one. Tftc out with the misses for a night run try and do as many as possible before where stuffed.
Found on a breezy Monday morning well tucked in its hides position.
Have not been in this area for awhile and remember a cache near the big dog back in 2005 to 2007.
Many thanks to the iampom team for the cache and location.

I found this one a few months back but for some reason it hasn't registered so logging again. I was out getting a few caches when I decided to stop off for this one. Had tried previously but due to the hot weather was surrounded by muggles and had to abort my search. This time was a success. Armed with a searching stick, a quick poke around and I had the cache in hand. Tftc.
Today I was met with a spare Sunday, having done all of my homework for this weekend on the Saturday. Dad was free too, which only meant one thing. The question was: where to go? I decided to head up North and do a sweep as best I could across the Northcote/Brunswick area. Very minimal DNFs and a lot of new areas discovered meant a fun day was had in an area I have visited many times. This find was the 18th of 23 finds.
Quickly eyed off how this one was going to be hidden, so after waiting for a few muggles to pass by, I soon had the cache in hand.
Hey... you sure do like offloading your useless stock don't you pom!
Thanks for another nice one iamapom
PS, sorry for such a late log (writing this on 1/9/13) but I guess its better late than never!

Once I got to the site, I realised exactly how the cache was hidden - though given it's an iamapom one, I was expecting something a little less obvious! Cache was found in good nick though, TFTC!

Suscoe's first find of the morning after staying in Thornbury last night.
Nice to arrive early before the many devotees of such pain.
The search took a few steps back and forth and the cache was located.
Log signed, cache returned and suscoe was away on another morning of caching delights.
Don't get to do city caches very often so enjoying the change of scenery.

Found by Mary & David at 1610. There used to be a cache like this in the CBD, but with many more options. David was searching between passing muggles when danozz arrived. Found the cache almost immediately in the next spot to be checked. Our thanks to iamapom.
The carpark was choc-a-bloc on a sunny 33° day, with people everywhere walking in and out of the pool - including one bloke, who seemed to be stationary and more focussed on the landscaping outside the pool. By now I recognise the ubiquitous Maccamob and was able to luckily find a car parking spot nearby, and walk over just before David found the cache.
iamapom caches can be a bit tricky, so it was helpful that David was able to eliminate all other possibilities before I had arrived And also helpful that I could do some geocaching in a packed carpark without drawing any attention.

Had a club committee meeting evening in the evening and was checking the location of a few caches to pickup on the way home when some of the others expressed and interest and wanted to go find a cache. This one was the closest so we all trooped down, since it was dark I distributed my caching torches and stood back while the others did the work. Occasionally I offered hints such as where the GPS was pointing and what the hint suggested, but they enjoyed the search and it was fun watching. Soon enough - multiple pairs of eyes helped - the cache was found, logged and returned ... at least one of the muggle-helpers said he's going to sign up and find some of his own in the future. TFTC.
Could persist with this one. Muggles on a balcony having dinner. Too obvious so will come back next time.
Wow, could have been anywhere in amongst that lattice work. There is was, didn't need a special grabbing device, all good. TFTC iamapom
Bliss is an empty carpark just then a couple walked by with their dog but soon out of sight, just like the cache. However a short search soon had our Xmas present found and signed. TFTC
Another nasty cache by iamapom crossed off the list. I had been here before with muggles all around, so I gave up. Today the car park was empty, so au fait and I had a Christmas treat in a fairly quick find. Thanks iamapom
Must have picked the wrong day to look for this.
Hot day + next to a pool = too many muggles.
Looked for around 10 mins on and off between passerby, without any luck.
Had to abandon my search today as I was getting too hot and bothered and looking a little suspicious.
Maybe next time.

Looked for this with a geocache pokey thing but had no luck. I'm pretty sure I know what container I'm looking for as one of my now-archived caches was the same sort, before it went missing. I've also found iamapom's supermarket-y cache and see that this is the same terrain rating ... now I'm wondering if I was over-thinking this one as I assumed terrain 2 meant it wasn't accessible from ground-level. Maybe I'll try this again another day.

Find # 2139
Today I was out again with my caching partner in crime SedgwickDave. Today would be a shorter caching run due to me not feeling so great, but I still needed to get out for a bit of fresh air and exercise. We were headed for the Northcote and Westgarth area.
This one took quite some time to locate, with GPSr's leading us down the garden path and a constant stream of muggle traffic coming from nearby. Eventually there was an opening and Dave soon came up with the find.
Thanks to iamapom for the cache. TNLN.

Out on a Saturday morning caching run with best buddy ahomburg with today's plan to tackle the caches in the Northcote Thornbury region before the forecast rain arrives. Was keen for some numbers today to push closer to the elusive 2000 milestone that was almost in my grasp.
This took a couple of minutes to locate with the GPS moving abit around but in the end it settle and was within 2m of the cache. The hunt was stopped a few times due to muggles appearing and then leaving. A satisfying find in a logical location. Nice container too which I haven't seen before now. out with the Facebook Assault team, a cache has no hope of staying hidden with 12 eyes and a pokey thing, tftc
The facebook assault team took on the challenge. Many eyes searching, searching. Sure enough it was after we picked up the pokie stick (and had a few experimental whacks with it) that the cache revealed itself. Seems to appear to be a harder find that it actually is!!!
Found with the other members of the Facebook Assault Team of Jacimarble, RebelActs, Datruk, Nufrat & Bexta! This was looking like a real Torture Chamber and wasnt sure we would find it! but once the pokey thing was used cache was soon in hand!! TNLNSL TFTC
Out this Afternoon with the Facebook Assault Team of Rebels Act, Gaga66, Nufrat, Jacimarble and Bexta grabbing a few local caches.

An afternoon caching with Facebook Assault Team of Rebels Act, Gaga66, Nufrat, Jacimarble and DaTruk. I have to admit, I wasn't holding my breath to find this one, however I was happily proven wrong, it is amazing what 12 eyes, and the aid of a 'pokey thingy' can turn up. Happy to be putting a smiley on this one, as I had attempted this one back in July with no luck. TFTC
Managed to escape the chamber after being subjected to water torture........thought I'd torture myself a bit more by looking for an Iamapom cache! No torture this time tho as I soon had the cache in hand. Nice hide.
Tenth of Twenty One finds for the the afternoon, I found this one in the company of Gaga66, Jacimarble, Bexta, Datruk and Nufrat, Now known as the Facebook Assault team. this took a bit of looking and feeling, a few people were a little scared of spiders, but that payed off as it was the pokie stick that hit gold. Thanks iamapom.
Out and about on a 2012 Geosportz Caching arvo but now we were on a DNF streak with this one being the second in a row!! Oh-Oh!!
For a 1 difficulty, we thought it was pretty hard after not finding it after looking for 5 minutes. With the cloudy skies the GPS was jumpy and it was time to move on coz we needed to find at least 6 more caches yet!
Thanks anyway iamapom - GJMMelb

Found in the company of lochb.
It took us some time to even get around to hunting for it, SOO many muggles passing and sitting in cars nearby!
Once the main one left we prodded and poked around and after some time it was located - almost a needle in a haystack!

My second visit to this location, after a DNF last year. Tonight, PrincessDiala and I decided this one was due, and we actually found it! It still took a little while. So glad it's out of the way in such a muggle-rich area. TFTC

1/12/2011 22:37 This is one of the more controversial caches so I just had to do it! It was late enough (I hoped) and so I pulled up sideways in front of GZ. Two of the neighbours were on their balconies but playing loud music so I figured they wouldn't know I was there. I used gloves as suggested but saw no syringes or other sharps. Luckily the car was well placed and I was entirely hidden from the muggles as I retrieved and replaced. TFTC iamapom(Carl) TNLN SL

Cycled here tonight and I hope I didn't look TOO out of place with all of the other exercising people. It took quite a while to locate this one but I got there in the end. Thanks iamapom.
1. I checked tonight and the cache is still present
I checked because I don't like it when I'm the last finder before two DNFs are logged. I didn't think that any muggles were paying me any attention when I found the cache myself, but could have been wrong.
2. I still believe the cache should be archived on safety grounds
The only warning in the cache description is that you might need a "Geo pokey stick". Nothing about needles (scary, whether they're actually dangerous or not) or broken glass.
iamapom and I have agreed to disagree on the safety issue, and the cache's disposition is up to him.
3. ANY access to this cache risks muggle attention
I thought I was safe tonight (and safer than the night I found the cache): pool and fitness centre closed, lights out at the muggle houses, no tennis players, and on the way to midnight.
After parking my car to use for cover and grabbing the cache (carefully, with gardening gloves as the best protection I had available) I signed a note in the log, returned the cache, and turned back to my car to find a muggle had come out of one of the darkened houses, sat down on the house steps, and was smoking a cigarette on the opposite side of the carpark. Murphy rules. It's the law.
After I'd done a turn around the block he wasn't hunting for the cache, so I guarantee he wasn't immediately curious. I'll hope he doesn't care at all or at worst thinks I was answering a call of nature in a not-quite-appropriate place, maybe.

No luck here. Pretty sure I was at GZ and did a very thorough search, maybe I need glasses? Or muggled?
Oooh glad we didn't have the kids with us found something that could have been the cache but oh no just a used sharps container might be worth a visit to check
Found it. Thanks for the effort in placing the cache; due to the location and situation of the cache I'm going to request that it be archived. No offense is intended, especially as I haven't placed any caches yet myself.

Another Family dinner tonight, for the geosister's birthday, but this time the location was a Northcote restaurant, who were apparently too busy to remember to cook our order for an hour or so. Thus, we found ourselves with a lot of spare time waiting, so geobro and I decided to pass the time by enjoying the one thing they co4ld serve with the simple twist of the top... Thankfully Ostara74 was there to drive! After some reasonably good food (albeit much later) and possibly too much red cordial for me, Ostara74 and I headed out into the cold, wet, night to find a cache. I have been to this one a couple of times before and had no luck, on the first visit I just couldn't find it, on the second visit there were just to many muggles to bother looking. This time, however, it was late, dark and cold and I was armed with some knowledge that LouiseAnn had given me earlier when I said I might be going to look for this one tonight, so I was confident (or was that Dutch courage?). We parked across the car parks to cover our searching from the houses that directly overlook this spot. The car didn't provide enough cover and there was much activity at one of the balconies, but I think they were too busy with their small party to be concerned about us. Be warned though, muggles houses look straight at the GZ. Ostara74 and I spent a good 10 mins searching for this one. Taking advice from a couple of sources I ignored the hint, and just searched and searched. Finally found the cache and we quickly signed and replaced. The cache is in good condition. Thanks for the cache iamapom.
Found this evening on a mini cache run in the area. I remember applying water torture here many years ago when I lived in the area and if the first parking spot was up near GZ, it was time to give up and go home! Fortunately not many cars about on a Sunday evening so was able to search unhindered except for the smoking muggle on the nearby balcony. Found after a bit of a search, thanks to iamapom for the cache, the first of yours I've done (I think)
