A double thank you Sidewaze for this cache. I have permission to log this one because it was missing when I searched for it. ?? That was really kind as I don't know when I will next be up in Nelson.

#8591. I have been over in the Nelson region for the past week, mainly up in Takaka on a work trip but managed to squeeze in some geocaching on the weekends either side and on a couple of other days. After driving back to Nelson last night and staying with a friend I had some time prior to my flight back to Wellington in the afternoon to pick up more caches in the Nelson area. This was one of them. My muggle friend has joined me on the trip today although she has geocached with me a few times now and knows what to look for.

Its true you can see for miles along this ridgeline. We found a place to park and walked back to the GZ. The cache was quickly in hand. The logbook was duly signed and the cache replaced where found once the coast was all clear again. Thanks Sidewaze for hiding it here. Starting to head back to the highway now as soon we need to get to the airport so I can catch my flight home.

Heading to Motueka early Sunday morning. Stopped off here for a quick snag and tag. Cheers

Its another weekend exploring Nelson and Tasman with The Seagnoid, Toby and Zara. Early start out of Blenheim getting to Nelson by 8am. Had a great weekend picking up a couple of Labs, even a new one on our way home in Havelock.

06-Sep-20
I only just clicked now, as I am online logging this cache a few days after the find, just what the CO meant by the cache title. I so did not have my mojo that day!
Added a path tag, subtracted a wooden Kiwi Guardians coin.

Given that I am leaving Blenheim soon, I am putting in a concerted effort to cache out the South Island. 40 caches this weekend, only a few thousand more to go. A couple more weeks should do it! As usual I have Zara, Toby and Taybeedragon along for the ride. We were supposed to be going to Murchison, but there is some horrible weather that way, so we came here instead. Much better!!

I disabled my caches during Level 4 lockdown to encourage everyone to do the right thing. Now we’re moving to Level 3 I’m going to leave the decision to search for a cache or not to each individual. Remember you still need to stay in your bubble and a bit of hand sanitiser before and after handling a cache would be appropriate. Keep yourself and others safe.

A quick find on a trip down this road, thanks for the cache Sidewaze.

International Geocaching Day today, and with a couple of events on in the top of the south I decided today will be a trip to Nelson, since it seeems I have not been there for yonks.
So a quick catch up with the Boomtown Massive over an eggs bene early doors at the local event, then a drive to Nelson. With an upcoming trip south, I decided I will target a few Nelson caches to fill in holes in the D/T and Hidden Month matrices. This will help clarify what I need to do down there. Sandwiched in between was the Nelson event of course; and a few lesser goals and plan Bs.
As it panned out, it was a reasonably successful day. Caught up with the ephemeral Capperz, who was flitting around the place also, but had managed to ditch the whanau at a mall for long enough to go for a drive up Aniseed Valley road and get a few. Then we went our own ways, and it was some cache maintenance and a drive toward Mapua to get a few just before there, before making the way slowly back down a less busy road. A 20+ day and good fun. Logs signed ricardinho, ric.nz or RP where space is limited. Thanks to all the COs.

Driving up the road, it was clear where the GZ was likely to be, quite a bit of development in the area so in 5-10 years time it will be like suburbia. SJT_NZ found this one, it was covered pretty heavily in dirt but he rooted it out. TFTC all in good order.

A quick find with TregearP whilst passing through the area.

Took a couple of minutes to find as well buried, but with excellent coordinates found on the second dig.

All in excellent condition. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Sidewaze.

I have parked my cachemobile and snail shell up in the McKee's Memorial Reserve, Ruby Bay. There are several toilet and shower blocks and fresh water available to campers. There is just one hiccup with the showers in that they have only cold water available. Brrrr! All this for $6/night. Very good price.

Today I decided to have a bit of an explore of the area plus picking up one or two solved puzzles and the odd trad that got in the way[^]Wink You certainly can. A lot of rural subdivision going on.

Cheers for the cache.

Amazing views here and looks like a subdivision is happening and soon homes are going to pop up. My highly competitive nieces were racing around trying to beat each other to find the cache. 03-Apr-16
A Sunday unexpectedly up my sleeve, mrs capperz at work for the morning, nightowl19 round a friends house and just me and Tally the dog with (potentially) a whole day to kill time. Only one thing for it then, a trip 'over the hill'. On the list of wants was a full set of 8 recently listed eggs and a second look at some caches that last time I came were either missing, or I missed when looking. I've got a whole collection of solved puzzles burning a hole in my G P S too so keen to turn them into smilies if possible. Some I've had solved since prior to moving down here to the Mainland so keen to convert.
All up a successful trip; 35 caches found, 18 puzzles and 17 traditional caches. All 8 eggs were cracked, including a dirty half dozen before noon, got all the numbers required and will go for the final another time. A lovely sunny day today to herald the change of daylight saving and my smoke alarm tested itself, at 0430 this morning!!
Another alphabet cache, thanks for placing, views all good over the road

We needed a few items at the supermarket and our youngest cachelet needed a sleep as putting him down in the awning just wasn't happening during the day, as it was too exciting. We headed off and all three cachelets nodded off. Oh well, a spot of caching was in order...
I haven't been up this was since I was a kid. Decided to detour to the highway via this way. Quick find at GZ. Got back to the truck and realised I left the GPSr behind. Doh! Lovely viesws

Thanks for the cache Sidewaze.

StreetWalker was navigating on a Sunday drive in the country and this was the first stop. Had a deja vu feeling about it and when I looked for the cache on my GPSr, it wasn't in the unfound list, but was in the "found". I was surprised that I had apparently found it but SW hadn't. Anyway, signed the logbook for good luck (couldn't check through past signatures as it was a replacement logbook).
When I checked on-line on returning home, discovered I hadn't actually found it. All most odd. Must have accidentally set to the cache to found at some stage since our last downloads. Pleased I did sign the logbook and wondered if we have been to a back road with a similar look out on a previous visit.
Great location and we did see for miles despite the ominous black clouds to the south west. TFTC.

#8409. We'd driven along the Moutere "Highway" a few times since moving to Richmond, without having the time to detour to this area. Well, today we got round to exploring the area; and it proved to be most interesting. This was the first cache of the day, and the views were excellent. TFTC.

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.

Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!

So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!

Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Consec caching day # 704

TFTC!! Smile

For the sake of sanity Wink we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!

We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

Come and join us the next New Zealand geocaching MEGA event!! Register your interest now at www.nzmega2015.com to receive newsletter updates and be the first to know. It will be a great event, come and be a part of it!!

Oops. Apologies to those who opened this one in its sorry state. It kind of slipped off the radar. All fixed now. I do wish people would catch on to the fact that all containers are more waterproof if they're placed the right way up [xx(].

05-Aug-14
Despite the container and the bag, this log is soaking wet and unsignable. No spare with me today, so had to leave it as it was.

05-Aug-14
Quick to find but slow to sign as the cache is very wet and dearly in need of some log-love. Signed as best I could.

Thanks

Today I Went for the 100 caches in 1 day. With a very early morning and just breaking even at lunch time with 50, it looked like it was going to be 12am to 12pm. But after a move out of the city they started to speed up, and i managed to grab the last at 20:30 with 106!! Thanks everyone for the caches that they have placed, from the ones that have been planed for months to the park and grabs Smile
