I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi barkingmadnz

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Regards

I've been looking at this power trail for a while now and today I set off on my journey. I knew i wouldn't get all of them so I stopped at #45 hoping to come back another day to finish the trail off. The caches on the trail aren't in the best shape and a number of them have gone missing. Almost all of the logs were wet and a few were simply unsignable. A lot of them need maintenance but it was a beautiful spot for geocaching. I managed to find most of the caches with a few dnfs and a few that were simply just not there. Thanks barkingmadnz for this power trail as it is my first one. (Sorry about the copy and paste logs) TFTC'S!

Too much gorse

19-Nov-19
My mission today was to come north and grab some of these Dalmatians and others in between. With the intention of riding my bicycle from the MTB car park and collect the caches along the way. And then cut thru the forestry road back to the car. I left Hamilton at 3.30 am in order to get thru the Southern Motorway before the morning rush hour traffic. This achieved I arrived at about 6. Before I started I had some breakfast. Then it was was on with my Hi Viz vest as there appeared to be a little fog around. I stopped at 63 caches and found 52 and had 11 DNF. Some of the DNFs were not really looked for as I did not fancy the gorse or the cutty grass. Many of the Dalmatians need attention. Containers were broken or missing lids. There were wet logs as well. Remarkably many were still in good condition. I was back at the car by 1 pm. Then it was back on the road to miss the afternoon traffic jams. Arriving back in Hamilton at just after 3 pm. A good day was had and thank you for the cache.
Too much gorse and long grass so hardly looked for this one.

Our mission today was to collect as many 101 Dalmation caches as possible plus pick up any other ones on the way.
Brother In Law was our driver which made it a little easier to collect.
Most caches were very wet but luckily signable and some of the caches took time to find due to the sides of the road being overgrown with thistles and blackberry bushes.
We started our mission at 9am but had to quit around 3.30pm due to losing service in the area, so will have to come back and make sure we have downloaded to off line to complete.
So glad that we are 50% complete on this, we will be back. SLTFTC

Puppy #7 - Wasn't expecting to find this one after viewing latest activity. But it was there (yay!) and doesn't look like that bit would get mown.

And we're off!! Nanna (visiting from UK), Mum, Master 10 and Master 6 making a start on the puppies! Living locally (and having just gone hard-core and paid our premium dues) we were delighted to find such a mass of caches at 'our' forest. Only aiming to knock off 10 or so today before heading back to base for lunch. Thanks for an awesome school hols activity Wink

I have observed the caches on this trail starting on Blackbridge Road for quite some time now hoping that one day I would have some time up my sleeve to try and get as many as I could in one go. That is how I came to be looking for this particular cache. As I had until 1PM free, I left home and headed out at 5.45AM this morning… and it was a great day for it. So when it came to finding this particular cache… I didn't. Or should I say... I found the remains of it as it had been completely munted by a roadside mower. I found something resembling green tape on the ground but the place where the cache should have been was completely mown. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to set up this particular cache even though I don't think that it is there due to collateral damage. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC!

"It is going to be tough going" ... it was for me ... Did it with my "city bike" not very well prepared for hills ... it was hard sometimes ... Started at #1 to finish at #50. Long trousers , long sleeves , gloves is a must here. Had all of them. Found several caches and also had some DNFs for balance. Spent about 5 minutes for each of them ... 75% of plecements here had wet logbook sometimes unable to sign off. Waterproof paper helps in some of them but few hides had just ordinary logbook. TFTC

#9763. A day to explore the 101 Dalmations trail around Riverhead Forest in Riverhead. We had set out to complete about half of the trail. In the end we picked up 52 geocaches on or near it, plus 3 DNFs. A quick stop on Blackridge Road. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Relatively quick find. The cache, which was now a 200 ml sistema, was in good condition, all nice and dry inside.

#3724. After spending a few days in Auckland on a work trip, I had the opportunity today to grab a few geocaches before flying back south in the late afternoon. I am working on the DGSC challenge and one task in the bulk find elective is to locate 50 or more caches in a day on eight occasions. So decided the Dalmations power trail would be worth a visit. Managed to find 74 caches in just over 6 hours which was more than I expected to find and only 2 DNF's. Then back to fight the serious traffic congestion as people flocked to Adele's concert at Mt Smart stadium. Nice quick find here. Not too prickly and an obvious geotrail leading to it. Signed log and replaced cache as found. Thanks for setting up the powertrail. I'll add extra comments on those I remember!!

Cache container broken. Have replaced with a sistema (no camo). Contents cleaned and dried out. Thanks.

Two years ago we were told of this power trail. This year on holiday from Greece we eventually got here. We were expecting puppies but now pigs and sheep are in on the act. All coordinated by the muffin man. Thank you to all involved for creating and maintaining such a great geotrail. We had an exhausting but fun filled day. TFTC.
Sorry we didn't have a new container with us so put back as best we could.

The "Flyjin" geocaching team are attempting the 101 Dalmation series - all in one day - by foot!!
The goal is 109 caches this is cache #7.
Lucky find here. Not at where hint says it is. Cache barely holding together and log wet.

Tftc. I was out with my daughter, Raven-eyes, today. We had decided some time ago to have a shot at the 101 Dalmatians trail so today was the day. It was slightly overcast so was not too hot for us. We had a phone & a GPS with us as sometimes one seems to be better than the other but today the GPS seemed to be the king as service for the phone was prone to dropping out a lot in some areas. I don't like to cut & paste logs but with the number we have today it seems logical to do this. We have signed the logs were they weren't paper mache & some of the logs the pen didn't want to oblige. Some didn't have a log in them. Some we found with ease, some were a little trickier & some were DNF's. All in all it was a good day out We returned with many battle wounds from Pampas grass, Blackberry string & Gorse. (Why anyone would hide a cache in Pampas grass is just sadistic). We had looked at previous DNF's on some of the caches & where there were a lot we decided not to waste valuable time looking for them.

Heading down to Auckland today as I'm flying out to a 4week holiday in Hawaii. So we hit the road early to hit this power trail. Not sure how many we will be able to find but we'll give it a good try Smile

(sorry due to time constraints while powering through the trail and then time in the airport to log todays finds while waiting on my plane finds will have to be copy and pasted- and even that will take time)

Quick find for me. TFTC

Although I have returned today, having changed the settings on the GPS, still no luck, far too prickly and not revealing itself.

11-Jun-16
We were on a mission and keen to make the most of this powertrail. Despite being wet and quite muddy in places we did a fair jog of tracking many of these down even where the gorse and blackberry threatened. This one was found very broken and wet.

Yai, a power trail not to far from my current place. So a must go during the weekend to find a few caches there.
The road is OK for having a power trail but the caches were not well maintained. That was a bit sad. Often totally wet and smelly and often in the bushes. Not what I think a power trail is usually like.

Found but wet inside tftc! Cache out of Tina and on the ground container needs cleaning

Well started at 10am and finished up at 3.30pm we are feeling ready for bed after a lovely soak in a spa bath, this was my birthday gift from my hubby that he would be my driver for the 3 days of caching this was the first day that will be hardest, we have replaced caches that we knew were going to be missing and only had a couple of dnf. Thanks for placing the cache (sorry about the copy and paste logs it's been such a big day we weren't able to remember them all) we also hit our mile stone of 2000 caches while doing these caches.

We have been wanting to tackle this series for a long time, but with so many saying phone reception is not great up this way we chose to wait until we had a GPS unit before attempting it. We have now had our GPS for some time and Easter Monday is the first opportunity for us to give it a go. We had a reasonable successful day, making it to puppy 75 with only a few DNF's along the way. We will be back another day to complete the series.
Happy to make a find here with purply and darthcacher1. The log in this cache was wet and very full (we didn't think to start replacing log sheets with paper cut from an exercise book we had with us until a few caches further on). The container was also smashed and we did not have a replacement one with us. Our GPS also had us about 8 metres from where we found the cache.

When I planned my great trip to amazing New Zealand I reserved a whole day for this power trail that was exiting me: Not to far away from Auckland and 101 caches to get. But when I have started today I have to realize very soon that the trail is in a very bad condition. The loveless thrown out boxes are not waterproofed and often hard to find in all that green stuff. If I would live in Auckland I would struggling forward but I only have a short time on this beautyfull island. So I stopped the trail after nine founds and decided to have a look at more rewarding targets.

Thanks a lot for the caches.

It's such a lovely day out today, I was happy Mr Beconaze was straight into the gorse before us, and then had the cache in hand. He's wearing long pants, I'm not! Slight mistake on my part today... Beconaze, Onawe, and myself signed all logs on this trail BOD or DOB (depending on who was writing) to save room. Some of us are even walking from one cache site to the next!

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

FIN (laalaa, janahola, temyllyl, kapeka) holiday in New Zealand. Second day and Dalmations trail. We had fun.
Greetings from Finland.
Thanks for the cache.

17-Oct-15
Second day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards south. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka.

Todays mission was to do some powertrails north to Auckland. A bit different what we were used to, or maybe the main reason was that we drove this from the end to the first one..

17-Oct-15
On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.

Today we spent time to see some puppies in reverse order. TFTC!

Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!

Note to future cachers - container is wrecked, so if anyone is ordering some sweet'n'sour pork before getting this cache I've got a favour to ask.... Smile

04-Oct-15
#7 today. Today was the day to break records. I started the day on a search for an Isuzu ute with Philip.Perry and Davidsonclan. We decided to head up to do this series. I was looking forward to celebrating my next milestone - cache number 800, and it turns out today I would also be celebrating cache number 900 also.

I knew about this powertrail, but had not heard a lot about, nor researched the previous logs.
Just like 101 Dalmation puppies, it would be a big task looking after it and cleaning up all that crap would be a neverending task. Thats quite evident with this series. The lack of maintenance, and piles of rubbish littering the road side, was quick disappointing.

This was a long and arduous task made more difficult by missing containers, missing trees, mown verges, lack of parking spots, inaccurate coordinates and hints, but I am glad I knocked it off.

04-Oct-15
A 4:15am start to the day driving to Port Waikato for the first stop, the Isuzu D-Max Hunt 5. The Ute was found within 13 minutes with around 300 people looking which was no surprise, but it meant a large chunk of our day could now be spent... here Smile

I hadn't read this description until now and I have to say while I was physically prepared, phone charged, gas in the car, food, water etc - I may not be mentally prepared which really started to dawn on me at around #37 for some reason. But with TNXpro happy to do the driving and Davidson Clan with an uncanny ability to sniff these caches out - we made it!

This series of mint tins, tubes, pill containers combined with every prickly weed, a hundred tonnes of rubbish and everything TNX mentioned below was actually a huge undertaking, sometimes depressing and in the end - a nice achievement. We replaced close to 20 new logs (which like many in this series will turn into rotting mush quickly Sad ) and in this game of numbers I must say thanks to those cachers before us who did the same. Another thanks to the CO and while a trail like this ain't easy, it's probably time you had a quick sweep through.

04-Oct-15
I started the day at 1am so that i could race over to Tauranga from Rotorua and get a FTF at 2am before TNXPRO and PhillipPerry got up. I knew they were also on there way to Auckland to Hunt for the Izusu D-max what I didn't know is that they had plans for after that if I had known that I wouldn't have got up at 1am. So after the hunt for the D-Max ended after 13mins I raced back to my car to get out before all the other cars I had planned on doing some caches around Pukekawa Tuakau etc but I had a call from Tnxpro to meet them at Pokeno and to join them for the day I got to Pokeno and had a call where are you we are in Mercer I asked where we were going to the north shore great lets meet at Bombay service centre then I grab some breakfast checked phone and there was a cache ill do that while I wait. Another phone call where are you they said I said where do you think in the bushes get your phones out and find me lol.
I then jumped into Phillips car to make our way over to do this power trail after spending to much time at the first cache it was time to speed things up if we were going to finish this and be home by 3pm like I had told my wife (I knew that this was not going to happen ) by the time we finished up and were back to bombay to pick up my car I was hungry and tired so grabbed a feed and headed home I had to stop about three times on way home for a nap to get some groceries for the week as the wife was going to go shopping at 3pm. I finally made home at 930pm stuffed.

30-Sep-15
Lid and container had parted company, so cache looked like roadside rubbish so was initially dismissed until we took a closer look.

19-Sep-15
The log is wet and need maintenance.

19-Sep-15
Decided a couple of weeks ago with Biartch79 to set aside a day to complete this trail. So we set off bright and early today (6:30am!!!) armed with caching tools, picnic lunch, drinks, and a whole lot of other necessary items, all squished into the geo-mobile.
Although we had a few DNFs (we were able to pick up a few piggies and lambs in the place of the missing puppies), we still had a great, albeit long day, with plenty of laughs and a fair bit of adventure!
We were able to replace a few of the logs and bags, but didn't have too many supplies with us so just tried to do the best maintenance we could on the ones in the worst repair. Many thanks to Kiwiscot19, who also appears to have replaced several logs and bags.

We were pretty satisfied with ourselves by the end of the day, having being able to achieve 100 caches in our day out!

Ugh..... gorse..... luckily we got the cache, though!!!

Fiance and I thought we would tackle the task of retrieving some of these puppies this afternoon. Unfortunately on the way we realised puppies #13 - 41 were missing on our GPS (Cut off from home centrepoint cut these out) Still thought we would do our best. We had a lot of running to each of the hides and kept score as to how many each of us found. Great spot to get our cache numbers up. Watch out for the prickles!

19-May-15
A bonus early finish this arvo had me leaving work at 4 o clock and with a bit of daylight remaining decided to hit the puppy trail again. I've already found a few of these puppies on a couple of previous stops on the way past but with my car here this time and a bit of motivation (and a torch) decided to do 10, or 20 or more. Only one D N F this evening and made a big bite out of the earlier numbers in this series. Most caches were in better condition than the others I've found previously and finders have replaced log books too. I removed a few damp splodges where necessary. Quite a pleaseant after work unwind and cached until it got dark. Managed over 30 so please with that amount and I'll be back again to do some more. Also managed some more numbers towards the final puzzle cache

Really pleased this was a quick find as I'm not very fond of gorse!!!

Found this one okay. Pleased that it was indeed easy to grab without getting pricked. Puppies must have been too frisky here as the cache container is a bit broken. Another puppy safe from Cruella, TFTC Smile

Headed out today on a mission to track down all the puppies, piggies and the caches that were closeby to the series. we spent 8 hours but we had a great day with 109 finds and no DNFS. Some caches were found quickly but quite a few took a bit of searching. It was a great series but the CO really needs to go out and do a maintenance run on the caches. We replaced 9 caches today (all mint tins) and I would say half the caches had soaking wet log books with scraps of paper inside.A lot of the hints were incorrect due to people replacing containers and unfortunately we couldn't do the final as only one container had a clue on it. We still had a great day but we were worn out and certainally deserved a cold drink when we had finished TFTC
