I have an afternoon caching in and around Pukekohe and whilst some more of the Crayola series are in my sights theres also some trads to collect along the way. Traffic was no barrier to success here. Logs full and I had a spare with me. Thanks thejaybees#5377Logged using Cachly.
A nice quick park and grab on our way past. The road was very busy today with people heading away for Christmas and just generally going about Christmas related activities so it was tricky to merge back into the flow but the Christmas spirit was all around us and a nice driver slowed down to make a gap.TFTC.
#13,720. I have a full day available to geocache in Auckland. Yay. Decided to wrap up the Crayola geoart series and pick up the southernmost Auckland cache as my two priorities today. Any other cache in the general area close to where I was driving would be checked out as well. I had a fun day exploring an area I have not been to much before (Waiuku). Ended up with about 40 finds. Thanks to all the CO's who put out caches for me to find in this area. Nice quick find here on the way north. Thanks thejaybees for hiding it here.
It's Labour weekend, Monday and I have booked a trip at 10am at Glenbrook to ride the seasonal steam train rides. They are very popular. But in the mean time, I have some spare time before the ride to come here and check this cache out. Easily found and on another day I shall return to do the rest of Paerata, thank you for the cache hide.
Strange place for a cache, but nevertheless a cache is cache. Thanks for the cache.
Nice quick find. Thanks for picking a good spot with lots of parking and turnaround .
A nice quick find thanks. The road to Waiuku is closed for roadworks. Luckily we didn't need this road!
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Today we did a little cruising around to the Franklin area. Will this long hot summer never end?
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Nice quick find thanks to the accurate hint. All is well here. Farewell Paerata! And tftc
On a Christmas present buying trip to Pukekohe and stopped for some caches on the way home. Number two today. TFTC
Whoa what a busy spot this is. Fortunately, there is also good parking nearby! Thanks for the hide!
We managed 70 caches before 1pm thank you so much for all the effort you have put into placing and creating the puzzles. We bumped in another cacher and seen leaving a cache as we pulled up. Sorry about the copy and paste log.
A quick final P&G for the day before heading off for a well deserved curry with Jag50 and Merlot58. Tftc
Pazza2, Jag50 and I headed South Auckland way to find a few caches. Our last cache before heading northwards. Had to leap a huge puddle to get the cache and once the logged was signed it was farewell Paerata and we were homeward bound
Headed South with Merlot and Pazza today for a caching trip on the shortest day of the year. This was the last cache for the day as we headed home. Cache was quickly located in an obvious spot, once we had navigated around the puddle.
I had to navigate a massive puddle to get to it, after all the rain we’ve had. Almost went for a slide - but stayed upright.
Well what a great Christmas New Years we have had so far it all started off in Friendly Feilding have Christmas lunch with the family then next day Boxing day off to Danniverke for a weeks holiday together so special first holiday with the Grandson hes only 7 months old, then we didn't know what or where to go next so ended up going to Napier and then across the Napier Taupo road got a cache and a trackable, not easy to stop all the time with a large caravan on the back. We finally got to Taupo and said where to now so we kept going and then we got a text message some plans next week had been transferred to the end of January so we could go away for an extra week. We ended up in Walton Gold course for two nights to finish off the Kiwi and another puzzle series got 46 caches in total some were traditionals as well, got that sorted and then headed off today decided we would do the Route 66 trail and Smilie trail so we ended up in Orewa so we are here for a few nights. We set off this morning and completed the Route 66 series had some lunch about 1.30pm then we decided to get some more traditionals in the area and then slowly head off to get some smilie series caches. once we were back to our accommodation had some tea we decided to go for a walk along the beach front and get a couple of caches. next day we headed towards Whangarei got settled into our accommodation then decided to go get a cache or two. the next day we slowly headed to Paihia but as we got up early we decided to carry on and get some more caches along the way and collect a minute challenge we have in the lower North Island we went all the way to Cape Reinga whata great day heaps of muggles everywhere. but no one took any notice of us doing our geocaching caches. we headed back stayed another night in whangarei after we got 48 caches for the day all types Virtuals, multies earthcaches and of course traditionals, then off to Auckland it was the following day only got one cache that day, but today was the day get get some cahllenge caches in the Ramarama area of Auckland and grab a traditional or two along the way this was number 14th for the day and the last one as we needed to get on our way to Taupo for the night. I had a minute or two but then found the cache safe and sound. thank you for placing a cache here signed the log and placed it back exactly where we found it. TFTC alot of road works and land transformation happening around the area. a lovely drive around the area today.
While staying with some friends in Pukekohe I figured I'd go on a small excursion to clean up my map. This cache found quickly and in good condition thanks to a good hint and a straight forward placement. Cheers thejaybees, TFTC
Today I headed south from Auckland in my spare time in search of caches. All good here. Found as per the hint. TFTC, Biggles.

Dear Cache Owners,
I am a German guy who stays in New Zealand for eight months.
My English is not perfect, so please don't wonder or be angry if my log entries sound a bit strange. Thanks!
Today I made a Little trip by myself in my new Homezone area. Unfortunately I forgot the most important Thing, a pencil . Thats why I add a Picture from the logbook to every log entry.
Last one for today. Easy find here!
Thanks for hiding this Cache!

Another one FINALLY off the list of 'want to get". Came down Burt Rod via caches, with Godfreyh, and now heading back home straight via 22. Quick easy find after muggles pulled out of drive way. Looked for it a few years at old coords, and couldn't find it. New Co ords much better!!!! TFTC
Driving back from Puke today. Thought i'd try to make this one my 50th find. Arriving at GZ just as a farmers ute pulled in the drive. Pretended to walk along the road a bit while he disappeared then went for the cache. Cache was an easy find and accidentally stuck my foot in the mud in the process. TFTC and my 50th find thejaybees
Joining HKCB, 11hpg11 and iammrwalker on a geocaching mission to Pukekohe on a school night.
Exactly in the place it said cheers. The cache says farewell but we headed back to Pukekohe after this...

Out and about tonight, heading to Pukekohe to clean out a few caches with Iammrwalker, Kyb3r and HKCB. We only had a few hours to spare and so we left Hamilton at 7.30 and finished up just after midnight before it was time for home for a few hours sleep so we could all be bright eyed and bushy tailed for work the next day. (silly idea!) Perhaps next time we just keep going and don't sleep!
No problems here, a nice quick find right were we thought it would be. THanks for the hide

Teamed up with Iammrwalker, 11HPG11 and Kyb3r for a night raid on Pukekohe. I've been wanting to find a few caches up here for a while but never had the time or other missions got in the way. Had heard talks of this night raid at an event recently and quickly put my hand up to tag along. It turned out to be a very successful mission, even with the handful of DNF's we had. A big thanks to the CO's who's caches we found. Signed the logs as HOAC to save room.
No problem making this find, thanks for the hide.

2362 Not a farewell for me as I was just arriving. Cache quickly found and returned between traffic.
Quickly found on our journey home. Last day of our 4 day road trip from Hawkes Bay to Auckland and back to collect as many caches as we can. Log signed as b&p.Tftc

Visiting a random selection of caches on our way to pick up some hay and this was one of them. Worked out where GZ was and spent a long time looking before we found this cache. Not sure why it took us so long - always easy once you know though. Thanks thejaybees! Nice hide.
Chasing a series of caches had bought me to Pukekohe and on my way home it gave me the opportunity to have another look at this cache.
Well amazing what changes occur during daylight. My last visit had ben on duck and I had to dnf this one. However today I had the cache in hand in very short time!
The log paper was tight n the container however came out easily. Signed the log and retuned to its hiding spot.
A great little hide and one I am glad now to have a smiley on.

The start of a new Geo License Challenge... Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are on the trail of a variety of cache types, sizes, and difficulty and terrain ratings. Staying dry is also going to be a challenge... It looks likd the rain is going to be a feature for most of the day...
Another cache we missed in the dark last time... Today, it was looking like another DNF, when a memory sprang to mind... Could it be? Yes... Very sneaky indeed!! I do like these hides that have evaded detection for ages. This one is still in play! TFTC.

Another day on the road with the Squirrel and back to South Auckland to see how many caches we can claim.
3.55pm - Great to get this one hen you see a few DNF's. SLTFTC

We were heading to Auckland today for some shopping and undertook some major detours to pick 5 caches to help us complete the 37 degrees challenge, of which this was one. As it turned out a stop here was necessary anyway as our youngest son managed to pour water all over himself and his car seat. The joys of traveling with kids. While we were sorting the boys out the Farmer whose drive way is adjacent to GZ stopped to check on us. Needless to say when he saw my wife re-dressing our son he was none the wiser to the other reason we stopped. Took a little while for coordinates to settle and I was starting to worry our plan was going to be curtailed at our first planned stop. Luckily my wife had the keener Geo sense today and the cache was found. Thanks for placing it.
This was our 4th day of caching in Auckland.
Today we headed headed towards Pukekohe to find the Auckland Stash hidden in 2000 & then to continue on to find others in the area. We enjoyed our drive around the lush green countryside.
This was a very clever hide, hard to remove from the hide.
Thanks for placing this cache thejaybees

This should have been a nice quick find, but spent ages looking in the wrong place until another check of the logs saw one from a farmer boy and everything fell into place then.
I found it in the first place I looked, but not until the second time I looked there. TFTC.
Only had a minute to search, and didn't find it. Next time will try and have longer to look.
TFTC.
Nice quick find... very busy road even though the middle of the working day.
As the log was full I left our team signature... a paper crane.... yes we can fit a paper crane inside a micro cache this size...

Was a case of welcome rather than farewell. But spotted very quickly as we have seen this before.
Reperio at 1810.
Found on day 3 of my visit to the North Island as a part of the upcoming NZ mega event weekend, and this was another reasonably quick find on my way south today. After a little detour out to the North Island's oldest cache, I headed back into town stopping by this one on the way in. The cache was found safe and sound, and very well hidden out of sight.

Had had a previous attempt at this one several month ago - and after extensive searching, had failed in our mission.
This time, it was a quick easy find - though extraction under the watchful eye of a muggle made things a tad difficult.

Had previously tried to find this one but must have had the brain switched off then. Went straight to it today. Nicely done.
Many thanks
