Perhaps this cache needs to be archived, its an absolutely joke, far too dangerous to access too many brambles. More than agile almost needs ropes. Silly place for a cache major health and safety. If this was one of my caches I would expect the same response. DT ratings are a complete lie. Reviewer Attention and Action needs to be undertaken. Also we are still pulling brambles out of our skin.
The cache is still in place. It is higher than recent charts have been looking and yes, there are prickles.
Gave it a good CRACK but this one alluded me. There is so much blackberry bush and I wasnt prepared to climb too high by myself - especially after the last find was almost a year ago
Climbed up the rock but no luck, the blackberry is a prick of a bush, I can see why it is very off putting
A Quick find after thinking about the name of the cache for a while. Log signed and returned to position TFTC.
We have checked in here almost daily over the last week trying out different ideas as to where the cache may be. Checked areas indicated by photos, Checked all cracks, even checked through the blackberry and gorse. Tried contacting last finder but no reply. Has it gone or are we looking in the wrong place. Will watch this page.
Not prepared to climb as we are both over 63. Blackberries over growing the whole area but are really tasty and sweet.
I'm 16 and very fit and love climbing things, but there's no way I could make it up that rock face without bleeding legs, thorns and other bits and pieces in my legs. Sorry, but I don't think it's a T2.5
FITW Albijos
We are warming up to climb Mt. Isobel by finding few caches around here. It was an intresting find here. Wish it was less prickly though. TFTC.

Wearing a skirt wasn't appropriate to scramble in but I laid eyes on the cache!
Cache sighted but not mountain goat steady enough to access especially with wet, slippery, brambley conditions. Sending photo of cache to CO, delete log if you don't think it qualifies (but have pity on us bottom-heavy, balance-challenged, short-arsed oldies ).
Well I wasn't haven't much luck caching this morning so was looking forwards to a nice png but this was not too be. But I needed to find a cache so up the cliff I scrambled thinking the whole time " I am pleased it is winter so the blackberries are dormant " .Then once up my hand was not long enough to grab the now visable cache so Up another step and yah. Now to sign , replace and scramble down. Easy NO. But no scatches or bruises, safely down.
Thanks for the cache and the adventure

Quick park and grab here today when we were out exploring lucky for me our nephew opt to be the agile one. Tftc
We visited GZ and made a quick attempt at accessing the cache, but decided the terrain was out of our league today so abandoned search.
This one has been taunting me each time we drove by but I needed a day with better weather and had to wait until the area had dried out. Suitable footwear also needed and in hindsight maybe long pants etc as some prickly vegetation.
I could see the cache as I ventured near and it was just a matter of how I was going to get near it. Quickly figured it out and even though I had a pen tucked in my pocket was actually great to see a pen in the cache itself. Cache signed, back down and onto the next one. TFTC a fav from me.

Great location, TFTC, sorry for late logging just playing catch up with last year's caching
We had all sorts of plans in Hanmer Springs but the weather put the kibosh on some. Ok get a couple of caches and outa here. Two years ago we couldn't find this. Today it was where we expected it to be. The area is fast being covered in blackberries and gorse which adds to the terrain rating and with the rain making the rock slippery even higher terrain rating. Thanks for the placement moneydork
In Hamner again..last time here was a DnF as the cache was missing....today another attempt, I am not sure you could call this a park and grab...infact it is more technically challenging than when I was here last time apart from having to climb a rock face, the gorse has made its self at home in various places along the climbing routenot to mention the blackberry it was plentiful and happy as I accepted the challenge and up I went returning a litte worse for wear grazed, scratched and bleeding...which looked quite dramatic as it was raining and this made the cuts look worse, with blood freely flowing down my limbs...the cache was located and the log signed ...it was replaced as found....not too sure what the point is with this cache thanks for efforts in placing it Moneydork...It maybe worth looking at the T & D ratings
On my way down to Hanmer for an overnight before walking the St James Walkway, so what's a short road trip without some caching on the way?
All checked in at my accommodation for the evening and dinner eaten, there was still enough day light left to squeak in a few more caches.
Pulled up, looked up, and thought....Hmmm?
On closer inspection I saw where I needed to go, so I went for it. Height helps...but only got be so far...
Pleased to knock this one off. Thanks Moneydork

On a surprisingly warm winters day we were cycling past in search of another so paused here and Mr 12 said he wanted to get it and raced up, passed it back for me to sign. Returned as was and negotiated the way down.
I was constantly surprised by this cache. From the road, I thought it would be an easy location but it was anything but. Was beginning to give up searching in the blackberry but I saw something out of the ordinary. Wholla, the cache was found. Find #617
Another weekend and another road trip..this time its hamners turn.
Early start to the day with a walk through the forest doing the multi ...and a few caches then up conical hill.
Then over to Pete's pass it was time for a few p & g's , feels like I have been walking all day..
Had to revisit this one as there was a few muggles around on my first visit...scoped out gz and decided shorts weren't the best option and I threw on a beanie for good measure..plenty of thorns around.
I could see the cache from below so just went for it getting down wasnt to graceful but the log was signed tftc

A bit of a stretch lol and lots of blackberries!!! I tried defeating them by eating them... TFTC!!!
Out exploring Hanmer Springs for a couple days caching with Busy paws. Got to this cache and burst out laughing at the park and grab. Sure had find getting this one but Mr C (78) got it with moral and physical help from Mrs C. Thanks for this cache Moneydork.
New Zealand we are back again.
Hoping to find some caches at secret or interesting locations we are with the motorhome on the road.
Today we stay in Hanmer Springs Alpine adventure holiday park and walked for caches.
This one was not easy to reach, but we could sign it. Now we have a Smiley in Hanmer Springs.
Thanks to Moneydork for hiding and maintaining.
Best regards

# 1752 Undertaking a bit of a raid on the top half of the south island. The main intent is the geotour caches with the base of operations here in Hamner Springs. Undertook a bit of a clean up operation on easily accessible caches around here over the day off.
This was the first of the day and to be honest I was a bit scared. Realised after the first maneuver I had left my pen below and I didnt want to have to do the whole climb twice so bailed early and retrieved pen. Yup she was gnarly but fun. Gets a fav from me. Cheers Moneydork for this great placement...and i see there was a pen inside... doh.

A few minutes to kill while waiting for K to return from a walk. Great hide spot. TFTC.

We're in Hanmer Springs for today, and my wife wanted to shop before a trip to the pools, so the lad and I hit the roads and trails for a quick cache decathlon before lunch. With only one DNF we managed 10 finds in some pretty nice areas.
No problems here, it was pretty greasy on the rocks after some rain yesterday, but the cache was found and signed easily enough. Getting down was even trickier.... TFTC

Found deep in blackberry as dropped in Jan sorry to last couple dnf as forgot to post. Have put it back.
We arrived in Hanmer Springs too early to check in to our accommodation so decided to do a few local caches. We stopped by here and struggled up the crack. Although NZDi was younger and probably more spritely, she didn't have the bravado to try this one, so it was left to the 60 year old to attempt. With one failed attempt in my sandels (proper all terrain ones, not urban ones), I decided to put on some more sturdy footware and had another attempt. It was only the first part that was a struggle, after that there were sufficient hand holds and places to put your feet to easily get higher.
After searching the length of the crack as far as a T4.0 rating I asked NZDi to read some previous logs. This is something we keep on saying we should do after expending lots of time and energy to discover four or five previous DNFs. Why do we never learn.
Looks like this on may need some owner maintenance. Plus an increase in T rating.

On luck today climbed up as high as I could up the upward crack....Really a D 2.5 yeh right!!
We climbed up individually to look for this but could not find. Definitely not a t2.5
Just like some of the other people could not climb to get this. I have a knee that doesn't work like it used to
Did try but not good on heights n my partner n grime had a bung knee so we didnt get it done maybe when i have my moko grandchildren with me they could do it for me
After our last attempt we decided this time that some artificial help would be beneficial. So come armed with the right gear and despite the rain it was an easy climb to GZ and a quick find. Great to get the smiley here and another Hanmer cache done. So now we have to wait for 2 mystery to be either fixed or archived and new caches in town. TFTC
Know the whereabouts of the cache , but did not want to risk this one once read previous entries
Thanks anyway
Thanks anyway
I am not good with heights and Mum recently had an experience of falling from a height so between us it wasnt likely that we would get this one, but I did atleast have a try. I got to the 'first' platform and got a couple of blackberry splinters in my fingers and didnt feel comfortable going any further without being able to actually see the cache. Id like to say we will be back but the chances are slim. Thanks anyway.
Tftc
On ja holiday trip in New Zealand was looking for a few geocaches places were beautiful and great thanks

Saw the cache nicely tucked away. But I was wearing sandals with limited grip and it was raining. The rock was slimy. Saw the blackberry below and decided a wipeout would be painful. Will leave for another trip.
Love the cache name. Sent return2nai up - the day after the marathon was quite a painful challenge! Tftc!
Hmmmm I would tend to agree with some of the others regarding the d/t rating. Good job I'm young fit and athletic cheers
That's definitely not 2.5 terrain! but not a problem when you have Mr D to take care of the retrieval.
Well that was a challenge, but it did prove that Womble Terry is still very agile,to clamber up for a quick find.TFTH
Great hide TFTC. Needs new pen, as it struggled to write, nib broke off after first letter.
So sorry, no spare. Photo of logbook taken.

Tried to grab the cache, but one of the bushes you would need to use to get to GZ came loose and without this help we could not get there. Maybe a ladder for the next visit.
We looked, and started off up, but then concluded this was beyond the capabilities of a couple of geriatrics.
Facilement trouver nous la cachons mieux Nous faisons découvrir le geocahing a une famille française que nous avons rencontrée a Hanmer sorings
Find #97 on Team Walker's epic adventure from Blenheim to Bluff and back. A great stretch and a bit of a laugh first thing in the morning. +1 from us. TFTC
Spotted this morning but to chicken take the grab, after a walk up waterfall track with the geo hound it was time to man up and put the bouldering skills to work. Somehow stuck the decent to TFTF
Luckily I went there without my girlfriend, otherwise she would not let me to grab the cache:-) thanks
After packing up camp and fighting off sandflies. Done this on way home. Thanks. Great photo shot of husbands bottom.
Found with Jojo, Darron and Rachelle. Getting down was the hard part. Thanks.
Lucky i cache with kids who are rock climbers! They had a blast climbing up and down.
Found with odgersaj on a beautiful weekend away when I didn't understand the app/have a prem account - now I do though! Signed the log back then but didn't do the online bit so logging now. Thank you!!
Actually quite a wee way up... Easy to get to, not so easy to get down! TFTC with cab165
Again no GPS but good clues and title lead us to this spot.
Good find - couple of muggles drove past but otherwise nice and quiet.
