#316 TFTC on a 3mth working holiday with Defcon_6 travelling across WA - SA to NT. A little caching to be done along the way.3/11 finds for the day
Kyms Adventure and I are on a WA campervan trip working holiday and nabbing some caches on the way Cache Experience: May have found an early entry point before the Gravel pits and drove towards cache as far as we could before jumping out and heading to GZthis one was on the ground so after signing the log we placed it a little higher Cache Condition: Container Ok but log mildly dampThis is cache number:52714:59
Stopped at the previous rest stop and noticed this one was only 4km away so I figured I might as well head down the road a bit further and pick it up. No obvious places to park so I just pulled off to the side of the highway where it seemed safe and wandered over. Once at GZ I searched for a while and almost gave up before I spotted it hiding in plain sight, log signed and replaced as found.Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.Greetings from MelbourneTftc
Thanks for the cache. Beautiful area. Reminds us of home. A few rain drops today.
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case SA_ParrotHead, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches.Today we ware on the way from Adelaide to Uluru and we did a few nice caches.CO thanks for bringing us on this nice place and make this cache.
Found by The Empire + HLeaving behind the lunar-like landscapes of Coober Pedy, we set out... Our destination: Yulara, the gateway to one of the world's most iconic natural wonders, Uluru. The road, once again, stretched endlessly before us, cutting through the vast, arid expanses of the Australian outback. The sky above was a brilliant blue canvas, unmarred by clouds, and the sun beamed down with unrelenting intensity, casting a warm glow over the ancient land.Amid the desert's raw beauty, we spotted pockets of vibrant life. Hardy desert plants clung to the earth, their resilience a testament to nature's ability to thrive in even the harshest of environments. Surprisingly, we didn't spot any kangaroos, but emus were a common sight, their distinctive forms gracefully roaming the arid landscape. A quick find along the way, thanks for the cache SA_ParrotHead.- M
Darwin to Adelaide Road Trip
Day Six: Alice Springs to Coober Pedy
Weather: sensational!
The right time of the day for the low sun to light this one up like Christmas, so no messing about here. The quiet here was fantastic and not a single vehicle passed during my stop. Thanks once again SA_ParrotHead.

Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along our route. Today, we say goodbye NT and hello SA. Can be a bit hard to find room to park a couple of caravans along this road. TFTC SA Parrothead.
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin and down through the Centre. After overnighting in Kulgera we headed out early this morning towards SA. Not much room to pull over when towing a caravan but we managed. Thanks for the hide.
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
I was struggling a bit before I read the hint.
Also got a thankyou from a road trial for pulling over.

On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, thanks to geo hubbys hawk eye the caches was spotted as we were approaching which gave us time to get out of the way of a baby taipan sun baking near the dead wood, the log was signed and we were on our way leaving our slithering friend alone. Thanks for placing this cache
quick find. replaced log sheet
Mogni and myself went to the Northern Territory for a 10 day holiday. We drove 5478 km's in those 10 days. The plan was to go up the Sturt highway and then go via Ayers Rock, King's Canyon and then through to Alice Springs stopping at the gorges/chasm/gaps along the way. As you can expect nothing goes to plan. Day 1 Adelaide to Cooper Pedy, made it just before the Roxby Downs turn off and blow the side wall on the tire of the 4x4, 193 km detour just to get a tire and even then it was the second tire place that had the tire the correct size. We had camels come in to the campsite in Erldunda Roadhouse, they even left hoof prints 1/2 a foot from the tent, at King's Canyon we had dingo's come through the camp ground both nights we where there and at Alice springs we had a mouse move in under the tent in their campground. Some of the aboriginal towns we passed where in lock down because of covid 19 so no going in to get fuel there, that changed some plans. The floods where way worse up in Northern Territory than i realized. Some creeks/rivers i could see the debris over 2 meters from the river bed and down one 4x4 track it washed the road away completely, the hole was 3/4 the length of the 4x4 and over 6 foot deep. The temp was 33 to 36 for 9 of the 10 days and finally cooled down for the drive home. We got 7 different caches types in the N.T. plus every different cache size. It was a good trip but not the one we planned. To many of the roads in the N.T. where damaged and not repaired ( still closed ) so that cancelled plan A but that's just a excuse to come back isn't it. Come back and see what you missed last time when the roads are fixed. We came with 19 regular " geocaching size " containers and a milk crate of small containers by day 7 all the regulars where used as replaced caches and by day 8 the smalls where gone. It was the UV rays a lot more than the floods that killed the caches and almost all the log books where saved, the micro containers seemed to have constantly full log sheets so they where replaced too.

Sir_spectre and I went on a long overdue holiday to the Northern Territory. We had some great experiences and saw some amazing natural wonders. Not all went to plan - covid closures, flood effected roads, renovations, hot weather, some car troubles and not forgetting the huge jump in fuel costs
Any caches that needed repairs were fixed and numeous logs were replaced or added too.
Thanks to SA_ParrotHead from mogni

Fortunately this cache was not too far from the roadside. I found this little silver chap after a short search amongst the scrub.
Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia and back. Traveling up solo along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central Queensland to Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns. In Cairns I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend and spent three weeks on Cape York Peninsula before making our way back to Cairns and Mareeba. From there I headed on my own back home via Normanton and Karumba, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and back down the Stuart Highway through Alice Springs to Adelaide. All in all I spent six weeks on the road, visited many out of the way locations, enjoying the scenery and finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache SA_Parrothead!
Log slightly damp but otherwise cache in excellent condition. Nice little break on a random but of highway. TFTC
Was expecting to have some trouble with this one, but proved to be an easy one. Sometimes you just have your eye in!

None of the things here are particularly green at the moment. But the coordinates were good and being so shiny it was easy to spot. All in good order here.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Yulara (Uluru and Kata Tjuta NP) to Coober Pedy.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'SA_ParrotHead' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Get a grip' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

Today we drove from Marla to Coober Pedy. We wanted to get to Coober Pedy in the early afternoon, but at lot of stops at all the caches along the way, did so we arrived a little bit late, but with a lot of found caches.

Something about the day:

From october 16 to november 6 2019, my wife (lp.dk) and I visited Australia for the first time.
After a flight of more than 20 hours, we landed in Darwin. After 2 nights in the city we continued in a rented car first towards Kakadu National Park and later towards Alice Springs.
In Alice Springs we were picked up in an off-road bus and went on a 3-day trip into the wilderness, with overnight stays in a tent close to Uluru.
Back in Alice Springs we drove all the way to Adelaide, from where we flew to Sydney, where we visited our son who has settled there.
After 5 days in the city, we flew back to Singapore, which we visited for 2 days before the final flight back to Copenhagen.
In total, the trip lasted just over 3 weeks.
On the trip we would like to find / visit as many Earth caches, Virtual and Webcams as possible, but also the other kinds of caches when possible.

No trade.

Found on our way to Coober Pedy in week 4 or our 5 week outback adventure. Playing Russian roulette with a plugged tyre. Will it hold till Coober Pedy? Tftc
On the way back north, we looking for the Geocaches wich we left on the way south to Coober Pedy. Now, we collect them. Thanks.
We had headed off on an outback adventure but unfortunately it was cut short with Mrs Just a Trifle having to return home to attend to her elderly mother. We were quite rushed and only managed a few quick stops here and there to stretch the legs and search for a cache or two.
This was one of the caches we decided to stop at to try our luck. We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you SA_ParrotHead for placing the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

I found this cache together with B.F.Pierce during our wonderful vacation in Australia. We drove four weeks with a camper van through this amazing country from Alice Springs to Sydney. We enjoyed the great people, wildlife and countryside so much. Thank you for the great cache! Best regards from Germany!
Erin1405 and I did a round trip from Alice Springs down South along the coast and ended up in Sydney. We had a marvellous time on this amazing continent viewing a lot of new and beautiful impressions. Of course we searced and found some caches just like that one. Thanks a lot for hiding and many greetings from Germany.
We have been travelling since January and travelled up the centre to Darwin and across to WA at the start of May. We completed the gibb river road and cape leveque
Since Broome we have zig zagged from coast to inland. We have seen and done some amazing things, it’s been a trip of a life time
We have a daughter in Alice Springs and so before heading home to Geelong will do a detour and visit. Guess “ it’s in the area “
Geocaching has definitely taken us to some amazing spots and we have seen more than the muggles out there

I needed to return to the car to grab the GPS as I bailed out thinking I knew where this was. With a GPS in hand it was a quick find. I was surprised to find an SAP cache this far north.
Thanks SA_ParrotHead for the cache.
