Fantastic weather for a round trip bike ride to collect this series of caches. The log here was damp, but still OK to write in. TFTC
Took a short elimination search in the hot sun for this one — after tiredly navigating sheep trails up here! D decided to sit this one out. Nice old bunker here, shame the roof’s collapsed. TFTC boxhill!
Great views on this beautiful Sunday. Nice and easy find with suepate, ACL and owlj. Thanks for placing the cache
Well it was a sunny visit to the trig point but oh so windy! Found cache, signed and replaced. Wet log! Tftc
Found on a spectacular late summer’s day. Took me a while to locate the appropriate angle to spot the cache. TFTC
Found this one while lucypear was pottering around taking photos. Found this before she even started looking!
A beautiful day exploring Baring Heads and ticking off another Wellington lighthouse!
Bringing bike up here was not the smartest thing to do in hindsight mainly because I pushed it up the steep and bike-unfriendly hill from the south instead coming from the north like everybody else was - but that didn't work for me in terms of passing by caches. I actually stashed the bike by a bush just before the main climb up to the trig and walked the last bit without it.
Some stunning views from up here and well worth the climb. Unlike #4 which I DNFed on the way here this cache was a more or less immediate find.
TFTC!

Sweated our way up here for the prize, note to self - get out caching earlier not in the heat of the day! Sheep look like they need a shear, they're looking pretty hot in all their wool today, poor things. Checked some spots then I was looking up past logs for clues, everyone just said how quickly they'd found it.. Turned out it I was right on top of it, just had to look harder..!
Woke at 4.30am for sunrise photos near here Nice easy find but a very windy morning. TFTC!
Today I visited the Wainuiomata South Coast.
From here I started in northwest direction to Fitzroy Bay and then back on a higher level via Bearing Head.
At the end of the day I had 7 more on my map...
A nice view and a good place to drop a Coin.
Thanks for the Cache and many greetings from Germany.

An extremely windy walk today but loved every step to get to this GZ. The wind was so strong at the trig it was almost impossible to stand up. GPS was all over the place so it was hit & miss trying to find the cache. So many places to look. Lucky find of the day as we were about to give up, there it was. Phew. Returning back to the main track, the wind blew us backwards going downhill! Fabulous views. TFTC
Had a nice mid winter ride to the Baring Head lighthouse and decided to grab this one before returning home. Despite having been up this way countless times we had never been to the top. It was a bit of a slog with the bikes to the top and the ground was almost like a swamp due to recent rain. A nice quick find and a great view from this high vantage point.
Decided to take the "main track" back which proved interesting as it was really a bunch of markers on a sloping hillside so not really ideal bicycle country. But got back on track eventually for a slog back into the rising wind all they way to Eastbourne.

A perfect day for our family to be out and about exploring Baring Heads. Such a perfect spot to sit and eat chocolate biscuits, gazing over the cook strait towards the south island.
Stunning spot, had beautiful weather but imagine it'd be fairly gusty on an average Wellington day! Quick find, TFTC.
2 October 2016 12:35. The others were orienteering in the area today, so I headed off for a little stroll. Windy here today (bit of an understatement), but the cache was quickly found in excellent condition. TFTC.
First find on today's lovely Wellywalk with chrissymonty and mikeyharris2. Easy find with the hint. TFTC.
Great views from here, but a bit of a grunt to get here. Picked a great day for it with not too much wind. tftc
Yes, I took alomost a straight line from GCT35A up here It was no big deal, since all the sheep down at the beach take the same track But you have to find it first
Nice views from up here [^]

#6570. Parked in the East Harbour Regional Park entrance car park for a good loop walk in Wainuiomata Coast on a sunny day. Did not come across anyone else on the entire walk. Other than the sheep, it was all quiet. Decided to take the direct route from the lighthouse up to the trig. Boy, was the 360-degree view great all around. Quick find. One of the hinge slugs had been broken, but the cache was otherwise in good condition and the contents all nice and dry. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
Macfam41 found it on a lovely calm day. You cant beat Wellington on a good day and this us one of the best. Surprised we are the First to Find since Sept 2014 !! Great views too. Thanks for the walk and cache.

Huffed up the hill from the south only to find, I really should have got to it from the east. Any way got there in the end and after a short look at the view, found the cache, took a photo and moved on. TFTC
On this windy day a little Trip belong the harbour with a nice view over Wellington.

WainuiLostBoys found it
Phew quite a climb - but the boys dragged mum up the hill - the views were worth it, stunning area.

Its great that there are places like this that are available for the public to visit, a bit windy at the top but good views across to Wellington. SL TFTC.
See as today was Waitangi Day, Banian and I decided to go out to Baring Head. Phew! a long, tiring slog up the hill led us to the cache and some really amazing views. On the way up we kept finding these terracotta slabs with a number on them and a container with a shaft of wood inside. Odd. Well, thanks for bringing us up here. TFTC, + a favourite point
It was a big bad windy day out this way today. We climbed up here from Ship Rock cache and then Baring Head Light. As we got higher on the hill the wind got fiercer and fiercer. We were happy to find some shelter in the lee of whatever we could find. Is Wellington having any summer weather this summer? We ask ourselves this question.
Once we battled with the gale force winds we finally made a straightforward find. Then we took the route of least resistance to return to the Baring Head car park area. All in all we did a round trip of approx. 9.5 kms.
Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Found the cache without too much trouble. Then spent some time taking in the great views on a perfect day
Cache # 1,373 - second find on our circuit around Baring Head today with Downunder Wanderer and Robnzh. One of our numbers had to crawl on hands and knees at one point because the wind was so strong up here. Fantastic views, though! Quick find at GZ, all well with cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!
This is where the wander with The Wandering Dragons and Down Under Wanderer became more of a mission than a wander! At one point on the trek from Number 4 there had been a shingle slide, and from a distance it looked like the track may be difficult to cross, but when we got closer it was OK though a few loose rocks to cross. The GPS was indicating only a few hundred metres from number 4 to the trig, but that was as the crow flies and as none of us were crows it took us a lot longer than that to get there! Very steep uphill at the last stages and it wasn't just the wind that had me on my hands and knees though that did contribute. If it wasn't for the fact that I keep reasonably fit by walking hills though not as steep as this one I think I would have either opted out, collapsed in a heap and/or dropped dead!
This was probably the hardest of the day. With strong headwinds and a steep climb we got there. With Robnzh and the Wandering Dragons.
I found and logged that cache on a nice Labour Day Walk at Baring Head. What a great view from the top! TFTC
Targeted this one as part of the NZ's Peak Performance Challenge. First one on the list. TFTC and a good day out biking
Great views to be had today, and a beautiful day to be out. Had lunch a bit down the ridge just because this area deserves more than a brief visit. Just great! TFTC
#43
6th and last for the day. Nice short climb up from the lighthouse.
What a view!
We were going to head down and around to get the Old Pump house but little legs said otherwise, oh well.
What a great day - thanks for getting us out there.

Extremely windy today but the rain held off until I was nearly back to the car. Liked the area here. Short scramble around soon located the cache. The WWII bunkers are looking pretty rough.
What great views form up here today. Blowing a gale and had to hang on to some bushed to grab some photos but all good. TFTC
Wow what an amazing view!! could clearly see the mountains in the South Island covered in snow. Found with danielle:-). TFTC
I never seem to complete these series in numerical order.
Two groups of muggles arrived at the trig about the same time and Netty and me. I spied the treasure container while they were there and I quickly completed the mission when they moved on.

Found on a tramping club (Hutt Valley Tramping Club) moonlight ramble. Great views of the lights of Wellington's South Coast. TFTC
Had never been up here before but have been in the area numerous times in the past. Also interesting to note another shelter - I wasn't aware there were some up here as well - geocaching has made me aware in the last few years of how many there are scattered around the harbour. TFTC, another great spot.
Third find on the loop. A good slog to the top from the lighthouse and some great views from up here. Managed to beat streetwalkernz and Troodles to the actual find, more by good luck than anything else (was actually using my phone as my PQ did not get out this far).
TNLN. TFTC.
(OOPS. Nearly forgot. This walk and the three caches on it is part of my entry for the Rambler's Reward Challenge Cache.)

Wasn't sure if I'd make it to the top as the old legs (and heart/lungs) were complaining. But with 50m to go, how could I come this far and not crawl to the top? Rewarded with more fabulous views (and a muesli bar).

Found with aerial_survey & damok
After a nice walk up the hill. I took the direct route, with the other two in tail questioning why, as I said it's quicker. They said then why did you spend time climbing a scree slope earlier!
Great view. Clouds had cleared so could see Wellington. Finally able to see the opposite view to at home.

Impressive walk. Doubly so given my poor fitness. Aerial_survey and nzfatmatt were patient and we got to the top. Thanks for the cache as well as the views.
last one on the loop easy find on this one also. on the way back to the Car park there was an injured lamb on the path.
Also got to the top enjoyed the view and grabbed this cache. Another fine place in this part of the park. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
Find #618. Our third for the day, and our third in Baring Head park. We had completely missed the route up to the trig (the camouflage sea green-grey 'markers' don't help!), so after bagging the lighthouse we ventured up to the top. It was too steep for the bikes however so we just left them on the ground.
A very slippery climb up to the top, we were definitely happy when we got there! (And the views were a bonus). The cache was an obvious find, we decided to free the TB and move him along somewhere else. SL TFTC.

Out for a walk with the boys.
3/5 for the day.
Boys enjoyed checking out the bunkers.
Picked up the Euro-notes, Fred decided he liked the views so much he wanted to stay for a while.

After finding the two caches by the lighthouse it was now time to go to the Trig, while some of the -gonefishing- team headed back to the carpark via the route we came -gonefishing- and Mrs Yeetrees decided it was time to go and visit the trig. After parking our bikes closer to the trig we made our way by foot, as I wasnt really inclined in riding up the steep cliff, after a short walk we finally got to the trig, what a magical spot. Initially looking in the wrong spot Mrs Yeetrees searched another spot and soon came up with the cache, what a nice spot with 360 degrees views, was a bit windy up here but not too bad, after returning the cache back to its hiding spot it was time to make our way to the next cache. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot, TFTC TNLNSL (3176)
Found with the yeetrees on an mtb loop around the reserve. A bit breezy at the top today, but excellent 360 views. Interesting to see the bunkers here, they must have been one of the most unpopular postings in stormy weather!

Very very wind here today, a quick scurry around to locate the cache, once again thanks for bringing us here and TFTC boxhill
Completed this find as we toured the Baring Head area. Superb views on a cloudless and windless day. TFTC
A fantastic day for a bike ride in the area. Left the bike down on the flat and walked up for this one, found the cache quickly. The old fortification has certainly seen better days! Signed log, TFTC.
Out with taiko33 but I claim the 2TF !
Removed the drill sargent TB. Thought I'd lost it and almost planned a bike ride tomorrow to get it again. But it was just a senior moment!

FTF 0738 hrs. The Third FTF for the day. After not having been on the mtb for a few weeks, the climb up the hill was hard going but the result was worth the effort. On a clear day the views would be stunning but today it was quite windy and the South Island was obscured by cloud (however the view over Wellington was great). Left Drill Sergeant TB to set up a command post in the observation bunkers. The log had no title/cache info so I added this inside the cover.
