I decided to head out to the northern beaches - a beautiful area I get to far too infrequently - for a few caches this afternoon.
Part of my plan was to go for my first few caches in the lauded Minecraft series - I got 2 of them.
In all as I wended my way south along the coast, I grabbed six, didn't attempt one and DNFed two others.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Second DNF of the day.
No muggles at this time to bother me as I searched. Nice view, even if at a time the pool was unused.
Didn't spot it and then I checked previous logs - a run of DNFs isn't good. Then again, it appears the camo here is very effective. I'm happy to put this down to me missing it.

I was in the area after running the SunRun event from Dee Why to Manly. I may have been put off by the lack of a find since August, but was unable to locate the container. I had a good search around GZ, read the logs for inspiration and looked at the photos, but nothing turned up. Thanks anyway.
Out and about doing site inspections, swung by to grab this cach, took a little longer than i hoped but soon had catch in hand.

Nice view from the top.
A couple of summers ago when we had days of heat wave conditions I swam in this pool as we walked along the shore.
A couple of months ago before I got my premium membership I was with a group doing a seabird watch and we sat outside the "private property" to shelter from the icy winds to have our lunch. Little did I know we we only 2m from a cache.
A quickish find today after being distracted by the views.

Wasn't sure how much luck I would have at night but it wasn't too bad in the end. The camo almost fooled me
No luck here. Used photos and clues to narrow down the area, thought I found the obvious spot but was unable to locate. Potentially missing.

Well that took us a long time, so much so the geodaughter was bored and complaining. So we had a break in the nearby playground, read back through the old logs and decided to give it one more go, low and behold we had CIH quickly. TFTC
We did not find it and looked for half an hour, gonna give it another go in 2 weeks or something hoping someone will post a helpful clue. Read several times that the photos and hints are not very helpful
Found on a Summer school holiday caching adventure - 3rd find of the day.
Parked in Florence Avenue and followed the footpath to GZ. A quick find in a very busy location. Retrieved & replaced between passing muggle traffic. TFTC.

Well had an hour to spare so thought I'd return to give this another crack.
Read some old logs even though I'd checked the objects before. Readjusted the coordinates as per another post and some photos of the pool that just lead to another wild goose chase.
Started CIRO removing a bucket full of bottles, chip packets a Bong and a rusty carving knife.
An old photo that was noted before and a comment that it wasn't a rail finally revealed the cache.

Very disappointingly we didn't find this one today either. I spent most Saturdays in the summer at these pools in swimming club as a child. It would have been fun to have found the cache in our old stamping grounds. Still my daughter and granddaughter had a fun swim with the high tide waves splashing over. No chance to explore the rock pools today as they are completely covered with water.
This one has me stumped. Photo and clues didn't help. Will wait for another found it before trying again.
It was a glorious morning for a swim down in the surf. First of the season. We walked around the pool and as I was trying to explain to my friend what we should be looking for, he found the cache. TFTC!
Well, what a way to start my last day of work for the term! A cache, a coffee and a beach! My phone was playing up so I too was grateful for a photo to assist! Great hiding spot. TFTC!
Nice easy find after reading previous finders comments, beautiful view, thanks for bringing me here & TFTC
20/09/14. 4:37 PM. Cache #1855. Streak Day #90. 5th of 6 caches for the afternoon; continuing to work my way up the Northern Beaches. From the pair of caches at Long Reef, I made my way here to this one. Parked at the end of Beach Road and passed some amazing houses at the top of the hill. Walking around from them, I got down to the handrail and started looking. In spite of the lovely weather, it may have been the late hour that kept this area muggle free. Luck for me, as I could get down and look around in lots of places. I had put too much faith in the hint, but it was getting me nowhere.
After a while I resorted to hints. Hmm, they're telling me the hint's not quite right, but where too from here? Eventually, it was Atalanta19's photo that helped me come up with the goods. Phew, that was tricky! Next stop, Collaroy Plateau for "Plateau Park Cache". TFTC }:)

Despite a search of the area.. No luck! The council had just mowed the area so bush and rubbish everywhere... Next time...
Found on a run to Sydney's Northern Suburbs with The Rats and Hoojar as The Rats pushes towards 10,000 finds.
We skipped the EC out on the point and continued northwards- great spot. Thanks!

With The Rats closing in on his event to mark 10,000 finds, he asked steeba and I to accompany him on one last push to get closer to that number. The Northern Beaches of Sydney was our target
Nearly gave up on this one. But in the end we tried one last time and found it. We had the incorrect elevation at first. It has been a long time since I have seen a film cannister, as caches they were once prevelant!
Cheers

Out for a days caching in the Northern Suburbs with steeba and Hoojar. In an attempt to bolster my numbers prior to the 10k event we tackled a few heavily populated caching areas.
We headed along the windswept coastline and beaches collecting find after find. The view north looked magic today.
Sorry for the generic log, it certainly doesn't detract from the cache.
Thanks

Thought for a while that the new log I'd brought wouldn't find a home, but eventually I found this little devil. Very effective camouflage. I must say the hint doesn't help; there are so many ways to interpret it, and only one is correct. So I did replace the log and the little plastic bag and it's good to go. TFTC!
Looked for this one when I first started geocaching, but DNF. Glad to check it off our to do list! TFTC!
CJ and I found this one today on an stinking hot and steamy summer afternoon.
We searched for this one before but it was a DNF. So we've been wanting to knock this one off the our list, after driving by so frequently. There were tonnes of muggles close by, but they were oblivious.
The hint does not match the hide location as it is not a hand rail, but very close by. The coords are very accurate and the camo is good. The log is full and needs to be replaced. After reading some recent logs and then rechecking, I quickly spotted the tell tale sign before showing CJ. We soon had the cache in hand, signed the log and replaced it quickly. The container is in good nick.
It was really steamy on the way back to the car, but satisfying to make the find. Anyway, it was a great day to chase down more caches. Thanks glyn(the only one) for your caches SL TNLN TFTC

Can the next visitor please bring a new log, thanks, I'm outa town at the moment, thanks in advance.
This was our second cache on the morning after dropping the geogirl at a Guide camp nearby.
We thoroughly enjoyed the walk along here. The cache took us about five minutes to locate and unfortunately the log is damp.
It was disappointing to see the six vans full of campers, either in the car park or the side street, who had stayed here overnight. The council needs to do something about it. We have the same problem in Gosford and the council is often moving them on.
Thanks for showing us this pool glyn.

Only here for a short time. Looked in all possible places according to the directions and the hint. Fails taking to a shovel and secateurs decided to record a fail
Coordinates are a few m off. And not sure if it originally belongs to that place were I found it. I put it back there still.
Looking at the logs (don't trust the clue) and the fact that there were no logged finds for more than a month, I did not go looking for this with much confidence. However, trusting that the clue may have been misleading (it was at first glance, but it wasn't really), it took me only a few minutes to find this one.
Lovely spot; thanks for this cache.

They so third time lucky and with this cache it was. Glad to finally tick this one off. BTW - Great spot
After some previous failed attempts, I was not confident of finding this today. But, sometimes these things happen, you just go straight to it! Thanks glyn..... for the challenge! Another cache off my nemesis list!
Unbelievable! I found within seconds! Could have sworn I checked this location both previous visits. Anyway, good to get this one ticked off the list - it's hung over me for months! TFTC!
Took a morning swim with Mrs T. Had a bit of a search but didn't find. Lovely day for a swim though!
Came back later in the day and looked in the first place I had looked in the morning - and, of course, there it was.
Ignore the clue about the handrail.

What a beautiful location. We didn't even know about this spot, nor the pool or beach. A tough one to find, but with a few helpful hints from previous logs we did it. Thankyou for a lovely cache
Using CacheSense on Blackberry I wasn't able to copy and paste the logged coord update when I was there at the GZ. Couldn't really resolve the various comments and hints such as 'Magic Beach". Had to leave after 10 mins to get to school. Will go back and try again some time, but it would be good for the GC listing and coords to be sorted out.
Wish I'd had access to logs to tell me the coordinates and clue are misleading, I could have saved myself some unpleasant hunting. Had a serious search over two days with no success and when I found the syringe (not to mention the broken glass) decided that my health was more important than finding a cache in Sydney.
Found after a lengthy search in the garbage-filled bushes. We were not very happy campers. Fortunately, the previous logs had enough info to convince us to ignore both the coordinates and the clue. Here are the cords where we actually found it: s33 44.042 e151 18.279
If you are rooting on the ground with beer bottles aplenty, you are looking far too low!

Clue not too helpful but found easily enough thanks to previous logs. Tftc.
Came back today and found after quite a search. The co-ordinates and the hint definitely put me off. The GPS lead me around 8m away, and the clue had me thinking it was around there or further down, at the bottom. You should definitely change the clue, maybe to the clue of "Magic Beach" that used to be here, or at least something that will be a clue instead of something that will put people off. Overall a great place and a fantastic house nearby. Thanks for taking me here. TFTC
Sadly didn't have enough time to find this one today and dinner needed making. Will return next time we're in the area.

After having lunch in the area, I managed to convince the family to get this one close to where we were. The kids checked out the view to the pools and I walked up and over to GZ. I walked down and up the steps, but could not lock on to a right spot. Then I used the hint, and still nothing came up. Was about to give up, and then rechecked the first spot I had initially looked in and BAM, found the nicely camo'd cache. WOW, need a second look with this one. SL, TNLN and replaced. Thanx for the view and this area, TFTC.

just a short walk from my daughter's house - seem to remember finding another cache in the same spot some time ago!

This one took a lot longer to find than I thought it would. In the end a traditional form of camo showed the way, even if it wasn't actually being used to cover the cache.

tftc sl on way to gz batts when flat in gps after about 10mins looking found it nice place
Heading homewards from the enchanted forest, I thought this would be a nice spot for a break, especially as there was a chace available, and after an intensive search based on the clue, I ignored the all words of the clue except the first one and made the find easily.
Heading past for work on a Monday morning. Only one swimmer braving the pool but a team of workers building an instant garden of palms and mondo grass at the house just above GZ. I remember the previous cache from this very spot some years ago. Many Thanks.
Reperio at 1730. Loved the view from near GZ, and looking down into the pool, it seemed plenty of muggles were enjoying the water. Was just about to retrieve the cache when a muggles rocked up to enjoy the view, so had to stand there a bit awkward chatting on my phone to my made up friend. Once he was gone, the cache was in hand.
Gratias.

We decided to head to Sydney for a few days R&R with a side of caching. Well more like a side of R&R. 3 Fun filled days later we had logged 54 caches and seen some of the best the Northern beaches have to offer. A great escape all round. Day 2 of the expedition.
There were a few muggles around walking along the top of the cliffs looking at the pounding surf. We found the cache quickly but were surprised to see someone doing laps as the swell crashed into the pool. A stunning location, TFTC glyn. [1046]

A real sense of De Ja Vu with this cache. Was it here in the past?
This is such a stunning place. Visit the Deck for coffee if you arrive in the morning.

Looks like another team nabbed this cache just before me. The bicycle tracks led across the beach, up the stairs and onwards.
