Were in Whangarei for a few days and this morning we did a big walk and picked up lots of caches. This took a few minutes then I spotted a possibility and bingo! TFTC
Unfortunatelly without any success ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M
We hunted for this one for ages, the gos was sending us all over the place. We abandoned the gps and focused on the hint and were able to find it. Very well hidden. Cache was wet and lid was missing
Staying overnight at an Airbnb not very far away I took a wander up the road to capture a few caches before dinner.Descending the long-way down - purely for the numbers!Deep down in this gully, I was worried that my phone might struggle with the coordinates a bit, so I missed the GZ first time and searched fruitlessly too far along.Retracing my steps I spied something which looked a little out of place. Bingo. Thanks Riser5#4741
Took a while and a dnf on the way up the stairs but the boys focussed on the hint and finally found it. Fun cache in a great spot. Spent while exploring the caves and wetas.
Our route had us turning off the Ross Track to head back to Memorial Drive ... but this one was "only" 175 metres further on so we decided that was manageable ...... we definitely weren't expecting all the stairs ... although it is SUCH a beautiful spot that we appreciated being led here! TFTC
First to find the replaced cache! Cool!
We initially DNF'd this one. We searched all the likely places we could find between the 'mine' and the stairs, although we were hesitant to search with our hands as there were so many spiders on various rock and tree surfaces! Eventually we decided to go on to Glimmer in the Night and check here again on the way back.
On our way back we stopped again. There was one particular spot that I felt fitted the hint best, and that I had looked very closely at on the way up, and this time my geo-sister was brave enough to try picking up a few objects there - and we found the cache! There was much happy dancing and rejoicing!
The cache is very well hidden indeed, I'm not at all surprised we missed it the first time. Log was dry, so we signed and replaced as found, so the next cacher will be similarly stymied.

Found it. We had a look for this one on the way up to look for the nearby night cache, so were looking by torch light, which makes everything trickier, and weren't having any luck so moved on without finding it.
Had a very quick search on the way back and after looking at a few wrong things, said to Laimelde that 'it's probably just something like this' and picked up a thing, and IT WAS THE CACHE! We were both stunned and laughing about how we found that one by complete dumb luck. Very happy though, as it is so well camouflaged here. Nothing looks out of place at all. Well done, and thank you!

A much easier walk than we had anticipated - practically flat to here. Great to have the goldmining history. And such a lovely cascade! We were here for the Adlab waypoint, so while Mr D was leaping up the first flight of steps Mrs D lagged behind looking at possible hides from the track. 10m out? Halfway between the mine and the steps, reached out for a feel... yes! No lid, as earlier logs have said, so put the jar in a snap lock bag to give some protection.
Our first geocaching adventure with our wee man in a backpack (10months) and our 4 year old and all the family present. We parked at the top headed down the Ross track down to the mine then up into Mackesy bush. Ohhhhh so many stairs, especially that track up to mackesy. But 4 year old managed all the walking so we are proud of her. Only 1 DNF today but it's a night cache so not going to log as DNF, and we managed to find this one we have DNF twice yay..... thanks for all the hides. This was our second find of the day, lovely waterfall was easier once spotted it.
Well this took a lot of hunting. Abandoned the gps cords and followed the hint. Still missing it’s lid. Forgot pen sadly. Tftc.
Was out with rustynz and gorby taking in the night lights, so here to find glow worms
The co-ords a little out for us, but happy to here gorby call out he had found it.
Fun find and adventure, thanks

I was standing at the intersection debating whether to make the diversion to get this one before heading back up to the 'Ross' track, when a friendly muggle (the first I'd seen on the tracks all day) asked if I was ok. So I explained I was just doing some geocaching. She was curious so tagged along and helped me to find this one. She seemed keen, so maybe a new geocaching convert
Thanks for putting this here

After seeing the glow worms in the dark, boy they were spectacular, we counted some stairs for the ad lab wp. Then I tried to film the falls at night, made a success of it but unfortunately can't put movies on the cache page.
We weren't sure about where this cache was going to be, we knew it wasn't in the mine where there are huge scary looking cave weta's, co-ords were bouncing here and there, so it just became a matter of methodically searching and soon after I found the hide for us. Nice up here at night, now time for a couple more caches before bed time.

With rebel98 and gorby on a night time adventure (adlab)
For me the coords are about 10m out, with the hide past the mine entrance up the track.
Anyhow was so pleased to hear gorby say he had found it.
Tonight got to see glow worms, and cave weta in the mine, stood coooool
Thanks for the hide, and for bringing us here

Beautiful bit of bush to walk through. While I checked out another spot Nette made a quick find
Knocked off around lunchtime and decided to go for a walk and grab some caches.
2nd find today a nice easy one. Lid is missing from cache.

Tucked away, just as the hint described, was a little cache waiting to be found and signed. Which we duly did. Good find in the dark, along with some Kauri snails, koura, weta (of the tree and cave variety) and hundreds of glow worms. TFTC
Found on a very damp day today. It took a few minutes as the GPS jumped around a bit, we were happy to make the find.
Went too far... Then found the root mentioned by the hint but no stone. So I've organised a stone to match a hint

We set out early to find a few caches before returning home after a weekend in Whangarei. The cache was in the second place we looked. The lid is missing, but otherwise the cache is still in place and waiting to be found. TFTC
I was about to give up, when a couple of other cachers just happened along here as well. Thankfully Lis had already found this previously but she still had to have a proper search before producing the cache for us to sign, good fun, cheers
It's been a while since I have been out so I took the opportunity for a quick road trip. Collected this on the way to the nearby ad lab location. Had a little help on this one having collected a friend that helped me with the last of the OC caches as well. TFTC.
A group of geocachers met for a celebration event, shared dinner then a lab cache adventure. What a great way to see out 2020. We past this cache along the way and found it easily tonight thanks to the CO. I'd previously been here 3 times and not found it so I'm glad it's a smile on my map now. Thanks Nick
GK was here with some local geocachers as part of the post event adventure lab cache searchers. They had explored the nearby cave and as he rejoined the group he was in the right place to have his name added to the log book.
Thanks for bringing him here and thank you for the smiley

At last have found this cache...it has been on the DNF list for awhile as the last few times hunting we just havent found it. A nice bonus as we finished the lights lab adventure. Thanks for the cache and as always the fun of caching.
great walk. thoughtthis could be tricky as steps taped off but no need to go that way so followed hint and soon found. tftc
Not entirely sure what happened there... as it was right where it should be... even way too exposed.
Looked and looked but can't find anywhere even had kids searching but not found.
Carried on up the track. Reebuck really keen to find some more treasure and clues. TFTC
Out caching with the family. A lovely walk in Nz bush. The rock had no bottom, but log ok. Tnlnsl. Tftc.
Passed by at dusk to look for this one and was amazed at the number of glow worms already shining. Already knew how many steps were on the main track, as had run them many times over the years, but this didn't make sense for the cache location. Soon realised where I went wrong and once at GZ, quickly picked up the cache in the right spot. Happy to be first to sign new log sheet. TFTC

Nice easy find. We didn't really need to go up those other steps, but it's a nice walk along the stream. Could almost go for a swim in the rock pools! TFTC.
Found with Mrs McMike2012 ... we were doing a 'road trip' to Whangarei as we had a couple of messages to do ... thought we'd do a couple of caches on the way up & a couple on the way back home as well ... and as it turned out, a couple while in Whangarei ... thought we'd head up to the Parihaka Memorial & walk some tracks & see what caches we could find ... this being the 10th of 15 for the day ... quick & easy find ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,121 for us.
No luck for us, had three teams searching for about 15 mins. 3yr old took a dip in the cold pool and had a bit of fun the cave.
Working at Kauri and took a walk up the Hill behind my Hotel. Had to abandon the search on the way up with not enough has between muggles but a nice quick find on the way down. Tftc
Have admired the mine in the past but havn't found the cache untill now, must have passed it half a dozen times. TFTC
#204 Wow! There were a lot of muggles out today on what I thought was a quiet trail. I gave up on other caches nearby with the frequency of passing muggles, but the gold mine and the side trail gave me enough cover time to wait for a pause. TFT(gold)C.

Awesome find, but should be a small not a regular.
Took a bit of mining around, but turned out to be easier than we thought.

Really appreciate the good description of the hide, would have taken a while otherwise - GPS a bit all over the place here!

Looked for this one on theway back from the nightcache, it took us quite a while. We would have been a lot quicker if the person with the information had read the listing all the way to the end

Whilst in the area at night time we decided to head up to see the glow worms. Had a look for this cache on the way up and it turned out to be a straight forward find with a torch. This spot is stunning at night time with the glow worms around the mine entrance! And also the cave wetas in the mine! Thanks for the cache!

Found with Liz on a relaxing cache hunt at the end of a working week - nice Friday evening for a walk. This was our second try for this cache, found this time after some help from GTWorks, thanks Greg. Log needs replacing as it is very wet. TFTC
Log needs replacing as it is very wet and starting to fall apart. Cache was out in the open so I placed it next to the GZ tree in a hole under a fallen log - should still be an easy find.
