Logs
Signed as k t j. Came in the long way requiring a jump across the stream..Some one has dumped a load of garden waste but thankfully not on the cache.
With Vistra caching in Albany for a couple of hours. Vistra found this one a few years ago, but we decided to sign the log from both of us nonetheless. No trackables in there currently, and probably a bit wet for leaving them. Tftc
It certainly was a SLAM Dunk alright. Haven't seen a cache like this for a good few years. Very wet though, but what isn't at the moment. Cheers V
Very wet winter find, no basketball played today, the ducks had right of way on the court. Very mucky hands but well hidden creative cache.
Was on an afternoon run collecting the few in the Albany Village region. After leaping across the little stream, did a bit of searching and soon discovered that I hadn't needed to cross the water to locate the cache. Had a bit of a struggle opening and closing the cache, but soon had the logbook signed. TFTC!
There was a freshly felled and cut up tree by GZ but I still found this impressive beast. But I couldnt for the life of me open it up. That lid was stuck on tight. Hope CO ok with me still logging it. Thanks.
M25: whoo! Been looking at this one for a while, and now was the time to go find it.Looking around for a few mins, I was able to spot something out of place, then bingo! There it is! Good sized cache, don't really find much in this size, log all good and signed, fp given. TFTC.
Short log cause it's 11 59. A reasonably quick find, definitely a bigger container than I'm used to. With bapboy1996. Tftc
Sixth find of the evening with @jtp2001, this almost became the first find of tomorrow, but we were too quick. A well constructed cache, FP added. TFTC!
Great cache! Master 6 loved this one and he swapped out the minion for a different treasure
Got my job done quickly and saw there was a cache near by, their is an easy way and a hard way especially when wet. Yup hard way. TFTC
Amazing cache!
Easy to find!
I took the small chicken toy and exchange it with a coin from China.

I approached from the wrong (muddy) side but found it ok. A substantial bit of kit! No way it's going to float away ️
Unfortunately I don’t have a pen on me but I thought I’d check on this cache post-flooding - definitely still there, but could do with a little bit of camouflage maintenance. Have a photo as proof of finding on this very grey day
#986 muggle family were at the Hall for the cacti and succulent show, so off I went to geocache. Definitely no hint required! What a strange little basketball hoop that has been semi mothballed. TFTC
Had to drop off some stuff to my dad at work today, so after I called past there, I went for a walk and a bit of caching around here. I made this harder than it could have been... hopped over the stream and then after finding it realised I could have just gone around, seriously?! I liked the cache, but it was very wet inside and mostly empty. CC's log paper was soaked but since it was waterproof paper I was able to dry it off and then stuck it inside a clean ziplock bag after signing.
Thank you for the nice big cache! (#1532)

Found it after a few minutes wandering around in the bushes, and getting on the correct side!
everything inside was soaked and there was no clear logbook anymore. Fortunately I had some waterproof paper with me so I slipped a sheet in.
Thanks for the fun little adventure!

The log sheet and much of the interior was wet, and appeared to have been for some time.
Mrs stik-a-crane and junior had entered in a 10km walk around the Albany Lakes, and I was needed as support crew at the start of the event....setting up the walking chair and transferring from the wheelchair to the walking chair, making meds, and setting junior up for the 10km journey.....
Once they started, I was free to head out on the bike for a quick cache around.....
Headed to do this series, but had to change tack part way round as track building was happening, so not passable....

Wow what a random basketball hoop Found but waterlogged so couldn't sign. Gigantic spider in residence too Fun with the kids while out getting our steps in. TFTC
Took the kids out for some "treasure hunting". This is the type of caches I love, just a bomber it is soaking wet inside. Do need some maintenance. Was able to mostly sign the wet log, due to it being a different kind of paper.
TNLN. We went on to try and find the Lightbulb cache nearby but we were unsuccessful.

Awesome cache....need a bit more muscle to get into this one...Fave point for camo!
Great cache this one. Our youngest explorer found it after tripping over the cache.
Very cool hide - Girl Guides enjoyed finding this cache
Water / moisture inside the container means the log book is unusable, and other contents need replacing

We went out hunting for this with only the basic details (no premium membership so no idea how far we were away) but it was a nice easy find. It took longer to scare away the spiders and to manage to unscrew the lid.
There was no log inside (actually there might have been but it s all so wet) but luckily somebody had left McD wrapper on the grass so we scribbled our names on that instead.

This was a very cool cache to find and not too difficult to find either. Geohound decided to eat some McDonalds wrappers while we signed the log we made.
A nice hide here but showing its age I guess. Was able to add my name to the wet paper, and removed the dog-mess baggie that was in the container. Off to the next.
A slightly early finish at work today and my eye was on a trip out Albany way and a small loop walk to swoop up a few available options. 14 attempted and a dirty dozen finds was a good yield for a dreary Wednesday afternoon sports choice. Home for a great meal and a glass of homemade plum wine, life is good.

The court was again empty and we forgot our basketball. So we went for the cachetftc
We're meeting up for a family dinner in Albany shortly, do the girls and I came up a bit early to find a cache or two. Thanks!
I went in just one tree over and then spent some time looking and slipping down the hill. I eventually got back out and tried another approach which led me right to the cache. TFTC.

Team G0LD ( Lis's Crew, DaffyNZ and 0B80B8 ) on a mission again with two main objectives today. The first was to locate all the Smile series caches that we had worked on solving over the last couple of months and the second was to find enough other high FP caches to get the required 500 points for the caching carnival souvenirs. With almost no local caches available for us, a trip south to Auckland was going to be the only way to achieve our goal.
Due to other commitments, Sat 6th was going to be the only day all three of us could make it and we hoped the weather would be kind, as it was for us on our last adventure. Unfortunately, not this time though, as despite the forecast being for mostly dry, with the possibility of a shower, we ended up caching in near constant rain till it cleared later in the afternoon.
This high FP cache was on our planned route today and once at GZ, could see why it has that many. A good sized container, so close to the houses and yet so well hidden. A favourite point from me here too. TFTC

Team GOLD Lis's Crew, 0B80B8 and DaffyNZ were together again. Out and about in Auckland targeting caches with high favourite point. This one was on our list and it didn't disappoint. Neat hide so close to the houses. TFTC
Days when quality means more than quantity .... Cache Carnival 2019 and Favorites points which does the job! Arrived here to collect some points for this occasion. Nice hide. Thanks!
Bit wet in side and also I think the lid might need replacing it was very hard to get back on something tells me that's why its wet in there :/
Nice easy find while walking the dog one evening.
Saw the spider like in previous comments. Didn’t get close enough to figure if it was real or fake

Last day of our NI road trip. Filling in time before our flight home. BIG mummy spider living under the cache. I might have squealed (dad kiwi) tftc
Out on the North Shore for another Geocaching day of adventures with my son (2FLYTim) this was on my radar today cause it has LOTS of Fav points . . . . . and we weren't disappointed - made the find quickly - FAB CAMO Geomatt . . . . . loved the size in an urban area . . . . . . left some goodies and we left a new log sheet with the piece of paper that has recently been left and took the very wet mushy log book away . . . . . . no muggles around today . . . . . thanks for this hide
Out Geocaching around Albany today with Mum (SethRaven) she insisted on coming to find this one today as it has lots of fav points . . . . . . WOW now we see why . . . . . great hide, fab camo . . . . . left some treasures and changed out the old saturated log book for a log sheet . . . . . Mum left a painted rock in the park for someone to find and we were off to find some more great hides
On a long trip down to the mega with Lis's crew. So for me it good for numbers and favorites caches. With several stops and a lot of caches and several souvenirs up for grabs the trip was the perfect opportunity to get my numbers up and get some challenges that I have qualified for. For today we managed 25 which is good. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining the caches. Great to find another large cache. Nice hide.
I'm on my way down to the Mega with thegreatauk. We're going to cache along the way so I'm looking forward to a big line of smiles all along SH1. We found about 25 today so that's a good start. I need this large sized cache as one of my last 3 requirements for my current GIO licence. An clever hide. Thanks for the big container
Out with my nephew finding a few caches on this glorious day. This was the first on our way to Albany. Had to wait out for many muggles to go past before heading off track. Spotted cache straight away once we entered the bush. Left waterproof paper in a plastic bag, because log book is mush.
Decided to come to albany today and search for some of the caches.Walked to gz and soon saw the abandoned hoop.how strange we thought and then it wasnt long before we found the cache.really liked the idea behind this one.just a shame that the cache is very damp along with the mushy log.perhaps waterproof paper would work better here or if someone could replace the bag.
Cache found very exposed, needs maintenance as log is too wet and there's a bunch of bugs enjoying it ;_; but other than that, it's a fun hide and cleverly done too
I grew up near Albany in my youth and am back for a family event. Taking a walk today with my muggle mother and picking up some caches. Nice sized container. Great place hidden away here. The log was very damp. TFTC
We saw this one was quite close to another cache we came out to Albany for so curiousity got the better of us and we came down to take a look at it. Parked up nice and close and wandered down. As the CO notes, the basketball court was not in use so that made looking for the geocache nice and easy.
Fortunately geowife was along for this trip as if not I might still be out there looking for it, as it was she said to me "but isn't this a geocache here?" and sure enough, yes it was, a geocache right there. The hardest bit actually turned out getting the thing open - it was definitely a two person effort, one on the base and one on the lid. The recent rain has made the cache super slippery but with a bit of effort we finally got into it.
The contents were pretty wet unfortunately, no real suprise as it has been very wet but the consequence is that the log is quite soggy indeed. Finally managed to scratch our names on the logbook and then we put everything back. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for placing this cache. Nice to get a large one.

Like a previous finder I came in on the wrong side of the stream, I thought I could probable walk around and sure enough I could. Then I spotted something that you could hardly miss! The cache container. Quite hard to get the lid off, but I persevered. Contents quite wet, but log paper only damp, could easily sign it though.
Quick easy find. Don't think this one will be going anywhere in a hurry. Cool idea for hiding it. Thanks. A&S
Thankfully I found the right way in and was on top of the cache before I had even checked my gps. A good sized cache but unfortunately quite wet inside. The log book is damp and mouldy so needs replacing.
#252. Picking the right entry point sure helps! Like a finder earlier this year, I saw this coming out rather than going in. And that's the biggest cache I've ever found! Nice work! TFTC.
Found it very cool hide but needs maintenance. Log book is very mouldy. Would never expect to find the basketball hoop here! TFTC
Wow that is a cool hide. Looked for this one previously at night, but had walked right past it in the dark.
Back this time, and spotted right away, brilliant. TFTC

Enjoyable and clever cache, no need to go bush quite as much as I initially did! Got a wee bit tangled in the blackberry and was on a barefoot run so it was a bit of a mission. All good fun though. Thanks.
#314. You've never seen anybody here huh? Just my luck, on my first visit, three or four muggle children playing with a basketball on the court! So I left without looking for it.
That was a few weeks ago... Finally today before the Cancer Society Relay for Life I snuck in and tried again. Nobody around except a dog who seemed quite curious about somebody hiding in the trees.
I spent ages looking entirely in the wrong place, the compass said 1m away but it was nowhere to be found. I thought "how is it possible to miss a six litre container?".
After a while, all scratched and beat up, I officially gave up and went out back the way I came, and saw it... Kinda obvious lol. How did I miss that on the way in.
Glad to get another large out of the way. Heaps of space in this one, and its in pretty good condition!
TFTC!

Made my way to GZ to discover a stream separated me from the hide. Hmm do "believe I can fly" or do I see if I can walk around. I choose the second option, and that is when I discovered the hoop
Found cache straight away, a little damp, so I have wiped clean, and removed some rusty items. Log book damp, but no problems signing, thanks for the hide!

Interesting hide. We would never be able to do that at home. Hoops here? Really? Now we found the nearest cache to where we are staying for a couple of days

Great hide! Good effort with the design of this one Contents were rather damp though, so I think it needs a bit more waterproofing again. TFTC!
Got distracted by the title first then by Zork's Munzee but was soon back on track and had the cache in hand. Nice work on the camo. TFTC
Unfortunately it was left revealed and it was such a good cache. Probably found by a muggle since there was a long time since the last log. TFTC though. Really well made.
Awesome hide! Played a bit of ball while we were here. Took an angry bird and left a bug's Life toy. Tftc.
Nice quick fine once at GZ. Kiwiscot is into netball and she just happened to have her ball with her so we took the opportunity to shoot some hoops. TFTC
