Today I am working on qualifying for a challenge cache in Auckland where you need to find the top 20 favorite caches within 20 miles of home. Brilliant challenge since I am out finding some really creative hides like this one. I DNFed on this one a few times two years ago due to muggles working nearby. Wow, things have grown up significantly around here since then! I had to time my grab to avoid people in the windows of the house next door. Back to the car for a pen and then bumping along again.
Cheers for the cache!
Cheers for the cache!
Loved this find. Kids loved the old bridge, clever hide that took a while to find. TFTC
Found under the cover of darkness, had to take care due to the muggle watching telly. TFTC, #6486
I had no idea all these houses were going up in the area. River high today. Great hide. TFTC
#6900. Was pleased that the bumpy road was one to tackle on foot, and not in a vehicle. Nicely hidden. TFTC.
I had just finished saying to StreetWalker that I think it's a XXX hide, when nek minnit, the cache was in his hands.
An interesting bridge and a great hide, well worth a favourite. TFTC.

I really enjoyed the geocache and the quaint bridge. This will go down as a favourite.
A quick find and sign, then back over the swing bridge to put it back. TFTC !
Bridge is a bit bumpy. Looked at a job a while back to put a new road bridge across here so hopefully old bridge will stay. TFTC.
Nice quick find. See this type of container before. I suspect that this area may have been a bit busier during the filming of Mitre 10 Dream Home earlier this year. Thanks for the cache.
Running a bit behind in my logging. Trying to catch up before Mega but running out of time before we leave. Log still to come. TFTC
A nice hide and a funky bridge, I like it! Thankfully I spotted it quickly... time for the school run!

Charming old bridge but I wasn't going to cross it! This was one for Himself to find. TFTC
After spending the afternoon doing a stocktake out at the abseiling tower at Blue Skies, I was looking for an easy cache to keep my 220 cache-a-day streak running. This one fit a bill and gave me a nice grin too.
Me and the kids really had to hint this one out. Where about to leave than something caught my eye, very well done. Loved being somewhere we would have never Known was there.
Very clever hide. We've lived by this bridge for 16 years and we were none the wiser.
A fairly quick find at a really quirky bridge, which was fun to walk across, although it was quite windy today. We made it a favourite, and wonder if it is earthquake affected, or it has been this way for a long time? TFTC
I notice on the GPSr that there was a ford here. I had successfully forded on up the road at on of the K2O caches (Main Drain) and was pretty proud of myself. I thought I might do this one. I parked first and thought I'd have a look from the wonky bridge. Phew, it would have been messy. Glad I stayed on dry land. I approached GZ and was in awe of the wonky bridge. Cool. I noticed something that was well camouflaged and made the find. This is a quality cache, great job. This is an overall excellent cache. Something interesting at GZ and a cool container, great effort. Favourite from me. Now I'm off home really, no time for 'just one more'. This was my 'just one more' glad I did though it was a treat.

!st cache on our trip north to pick up the second trademe deal. Chelzea found this one. Nice hide TFTC
Loved this cache, really quite inventive! The twisted bridge reminded me of similar ones in Christchurch after the earthquake. TFTC
We were on our way to a BBQ and we stopped for this one. Cool bridge. I'd like to see what this spot looks like in a few years what with the new development nearby. TFTC.
Quick park & find with 'muggle' family. Nice to see some of the local history from the area...we need to make sure we keep these little treasures. TN.:LN:SL. TFTC. #221 for us.
I love these kinds of bridges, and this one had an appealing twist to it, although it didn't bounce alarmingly enough for me [:p]. I was distracted by the pair of riders walking their horses through the ford and the ducks further along, so The Marble found this one while I was miles away. TFTC, gentletoo. =^.^=
Quick find followed by a walk across the bridge. Although we couldn't use the ford, a couple on horseback did, which added to the atmosphere and of course we just had to cross that swingbridge. TFTC
A nice find on another great day for geocaching.
Liked walking over the bridge

Wow, lots of work going on next door! Took a while but got there in the end. #13 of 28 today. TNLN Thanks
Had an audience watching me so could only look, will be back, neat spot apart from the subdivision.
Always enjoy old historic bridges. Lets hope the subdivision does not ruin this. Found cache easily too...thank you for showing this.
Way too many workers around the cache site to safely retrieve it. Next time through, then.
This was my last for the day and almost gave up after checking many examples of the clue. Needless to say the last one checked was the one. Nice hide
Dropped off wee dudes in the early evening for a sleepover at their grandparents. Mrs G suggested a nighttime caching adventure to Rangiora...who was I to complain?! #2 (of 21) on our way. Mrs G has a short attention span and was about to give up (after 30 of seconds!)....I quickly found it though (pat on back). Nicely done. A lot of water below; not sure what would attempt to ford it?! Bit dark wot but interesting and sad to see this corner of the world being developed into yet more housing.....has to be done I guess....on the edge of a riverbank though? lessons learned anyone?...
Thanks for the cool cache in a coll spot.

#1,157: No Bumps to the Find.
Stopped by to try this one while caching in the area with my GeoYoungling #3. As we arrived at GZ, I saw a could parked on the other side of the ford, and the man was on the bridge. Cachers? I thought. Once we found the nicely camo'd container, I realized the man was standing right at GZ when we arrived. Must have been KiwiHarvs! GeoYoungling #3 made the actual find, and we both really liked the cachemanship on the container! Fav from us.

Well done, nice hide. Subdivision going in will make finding this one more challenging in the future. TFTC. #375
Very Clever, I Like this one! ... Only Searched for about 10 minutes, could have been longer !! TFTC
Know someone who tried to go through this ford recently- NOT a good idea!!! Loved the spot- and the cache. Thanks gentletoo
Live 2 mins down the road and never knew the bridge existed. Great Cache, love the hiding spot.

What a great spot. Too deep to drive through in the car but tempting. I have been looking for this kind of container for ages. Now I know where to start looking for the inner part. Neat hide. TFTC ds8300

Touring around Kaiapoi today picking up the odd cache or two. This just happened to be one of them. This is a real rock and roll bridge. Great camo job.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
There were a couple watching as I did a close 'inspection' of the bridge. The cache was quickly spotted but I delayed the find with my exaggerated test. A good hide.
A good spot for a cache. The container was quickly spotted by one of us as the other continued out onto the bridge. Great location and hide, thanks.

Had to take two shots at this today, as the spot seems to be popular with the "sit in our cars smoking up" crew. After pocking around in some strange places it was right in front of us the whole time! Great work.
A bit of head scraching, for a very clever hide . Nice that football has finished, it means we get a sleep-in and caching . TFTC, TNLN.
My GPS wanted me to somewhere else closer the ford and a particular end. Fourth visit and voila! Nice hide. I have to stop premonitions where caches might be.
There are trout here La Vista... can be seen from the bridge and occasionally jump and splash

A great location. I was going to place a cache there myself. Glad I managed to find it. Was touch and go for awhile. TFTH
Ducked out for a bit of a look while out this way, I started looking in the wrong place then after a change of tact I was quickly onto it, Thanks for the work that you have done to make this cache interesting. TFTC. Cheers Bo
3708. It was a beautiful sunny morning with the sun reflecting off the snow as we drove in from town.
That is an impressive ford - and no, we weren't tempted to drive through! It is a rickety bridge as well as a bumpy road! It was a great hide and so a good find.
Thanks
Iris & Rodney

TFTC. The bridge looks a bit worse for wear, but still standing. Tempted to drive through the ford....
Finally got around to bagging this one after 2 failed attempts having not read the clues properly.

Took longer them it should have to find being I had a good idea what I was looking for. Tftc
Everything that is good about caching , a new interesting location that would never have found without caching . A clever cache -unfortunately found too easily to fully appreciate LGM
