#4937 - 13:05; Our week in New York was drawing to a close and we had checked off most of the sights we had on the 'to do' list for this trip. Going Coastal’s NY-NJ Harbor Estuary EarthCache Discovery Trail in Liberty State Park in New Jersey was on the 'to do if you can get there' list on the recommendation of a caching mate back in Australia who had been here before. I was happy that I was able to make it over the river to walk the trail, although the temperature in excess of 90 degrees F made for a hot one. This was the seventh stop on the trail as we continued across the bridge. Gathered the required information and email sent to the CO for the OK. TFTC Going Coastal
Next visit on the walk around the area. A great walk area on a great day. E-mail has been sent.
Thanks for another one Going Coastal....and the great views....

Moving on to the salt marsh.
The birds are all a long way off and I didn't bring my binoculars. If I do move out here then the bons will be a good idea and I could happily spend some time bird watching (I'm not talking about the kind going by on roller blades). But for now all I can decide is that there aren't any teal out there, mainly because there is nothing small enough. There are a number of the cormorant family which did lead to a google search later that I regretted (as this is a family audience I will not explain, if you are desperate to know then email me).
I spent some time here just watching the world go by. It was great watching the ferries and the boats. And there were plenty of conversations to overhear!
OK, my "birds eye view"picture is the worst I have drawn so far. But I continue to be a good sport and take part in the idea. I just hope I'm not going to be expected to draw a lot more.

We found that earth cache on our US-tour. Due to the rain not so perfect, but interesting.
Many thanks to the owners.

Getting close to the end of finishing this series. Guess we will have to start looking at other things. TFTC
See my log for Liberty Enlightening (GC2T1KZ) for a discussion of my approach to this series.
Earthcache #3 completed! The snow geese were congregating on the marsh at the time I did this one. Thanks again for a great series of Earthcaches!
We really enjoyed the walk along the Waterfron Walkway. This was our first visit to New York. Sometimes it was a bit hard for us to figure out the answers, because English is not our native language, but I hope that we are allowed to log the caches anyways (answers have been sent).

With such a beautiful day what better to do than to visit LSP and get some caches. Had a great time. Mosquitos were very active. TFTC
On my way to Cape May, NJ from NH to visit the folks, for Dad's 81st and mothers day! Was able to score this find on the way down! Will send the answers over the next day. One at a time. The devestation of sandy certainly has influenced the area. I spoke with several park rangers and they are not sure when things will fullyreopen! Thanks for bringing me here! TFTC, ponil

Visiting the area from New Hampshire with Preferida, Kballsey and Team Salford on the return leg of a five day caching trip that covered NY, NJ, PA, and DE. Many thanks to the folks from Going Costal for placing this series for taking us to both of these unique spots, and for the great educational lessons. We really enjoyed it! Answers wll be sent soon.
was able to nab 25 earth caches in one day which is a feat i had never thought possible. visiting the area from NH with 3 other caching friends; TFTC's and nhtravelers5 has sent answers to you
Had a very nice time visiting this area and enjoying looking for several earth caches- just stellar! NH Travelers submitted our answers for us. My thanks to the CO for the work put into creating these. My apologies for the very late log!
Finally had time to find all these Earthcaches. Awesome place. Thanks for the many geography/geology/history lessons.
I was out on International EarthCache day to follow the trail of EC's around Liberty State Park.
This one was a little more difficult for be to decipher. I had the nagging feeling that I was looking at something that was somewhat man-made, or at least influenced by man's actions. While this maybe true, it if proof that every thing on the Earth does effect each other. Today was very windy, and while the temperatures were pleasant, there were no bird or other wild life to be seen for that matter. In fact, even the humans were hiding today.
