Thank you for your cache. Hope you have a wonderful day. Feom david, dylan, ash, roberto, simone and riley
I came out here seeking old caches with ones placed in 2001 as my goal (Boulders Beckoning nearby). My car may have made it a lot closer to GZ but since the road was a little mushy and washed out in some places I decided to park it and walk, which did me good even if my asthma is playing up a bit.Only when I got to the top did I realize I had walked past a whole bunch of caches on the way up so I made an effort to get those on the way back, including this one. Thanks For the Cache (TFTC).
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time. For a few days we have based ourselves in Avoca to explore the goldfields area, attend some events, climb some hills, visit out of the way places and learn some history. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache and adding to our enjoyment.
I was in the area finding the challenge caches, most of which I am yet to qualify for, so it was great to finally log a 'found' cache. TNLN. TFTC.
Day 2 of our adventure to Ballarat with Peppa and Beardman75 chasing the geotour. We have travelled well out of town and are now sidetracked and chasing challenges. We couldnt walk pass Cals cool cache and not find it. We climbed up the rocks and found the cache tucked away.Tftc luttrellfiveFind #5250
Day 2 of our Ballarat Boys BreakAn early start sees Breadman75, Davinells and I cruising the mean streets of Ballarat and surrounds in our hire car, the Peugeot Party Prowler We still havent worked out how to unlock the doors from the inside thoughWe decided to abandon the PPP and proceed on foot if only wed gotten the Landcruiser at the airportIts still early and I really havent started to complainThanks luttrellfive
Definitely a cool location. Found with Peppa and Davinells. Thanks for the cache luttrellfive
Nice little find, bit off the track so you have to be careful of snakes and the track isn't very suitable for low cars. I parked down the bottom and walked 400m. Tftc
A great pit stop on the way back down the mountain, thanks for the little rest. Cal's Cool Cache is find number 3,101 for me. A great small traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of my caching fun in Western Victoria. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Sunday 26 Nov 2023 at 6:04 pm and the weather is Overcast Clouds 15C 61% 6 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy luttrellfive.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

Yes that is a cool cache. We liked it anyway. We had a lovely day hiking up and down and around this mountain today. At one point we were very near your cache so we dropped by to sign the log.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We spent the day walking around this beautiful mountain, beginning, our journey, quite early and walking many kilometres as we explored a variety of trails. Lots of uphill and downhill and lots of fun. We found this one on our return journey as we are walking down the hill.
That is definitely a cool tree at GZ.

I set out from Coutts Road on foot as the track was closed to vehicles so I hiked up, over, down, up, around and down signing all the logs for various challenges and finding this traditional.
I got to see some of the locals while I was hiking which was a bonus.

Stopped at Mount Beckworth for a walk and some challenge caches.
Rain at times and much colder than I expected.
Parked at the start of the track and walked, the track was like a creek in parts.
And then there was this trad, was not going to walk past
Find number 28195 for me.

I spent the bulk of today wandering around Mt Beckworth, getting some exercise ahead of this weekend's Australasian Rogaine Champs near Avoca. Apart from being in cloud, there was very little rain, however it was very wet underfoot. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Out for a bit of a walk on this side of Mount Beckworth today picking up a couple of cache along the way. Thanks for placing lutterelfive.
Found day 3 of a somewhat impromptu solo caching and camping trip to Victoria from Adelaide.
I had planned to spend a week travelling, caching and camping along the Great Ocean Road, but my travelling companion had to postpone it due to other commitments. I was still keen to go away somewhere this week as well, so decided to head to the western part of the state on my own.
I created a bit of a 'menu' of specific caches of interest in the broad area that I might be in before I left home and just pottered along fairly casually, taking in the sights and grabbing what I could along the way.
I wasn't actually planning to visit this area, but I somehow managed to end up here and it was a good place to camp with what looked like some interesting walks and caches to find.
After walking up to the summit and back from Manna Gums this morning, I took a bit of a drive around the park, including back up to the summit from the southern side, and finding this and other caches nearby.
Thanks luttrellfive for the cache.

We had a little detour to Mt Beckworth on our way home to grab an older cache hide and nabbed a few of these nifty trads along the way. Going on foot was a bit slower but gave us time to appreciate the scenery. Lots of options for a hide here but being methodical we soon turned up the goods which was larger than we expected. TFTC
We're camped at Manna Gums for just one night so decided to come out for a 4WD adventure to see how many of the caches nearby bu we can reach. It was a bit of fun coming up the steep side of the track from Manna Gums but eventually we reached the more well maintained section. Oh and this cache too!

We are camping at Mount Beckwith for a couple of days, and with plenty of caches to find, we set off with the geodogs to see how many we could find. We found several challenge caches which were have signed and will log as soon as we qualify. We had hoped to find many more, but the small geodogs struggled with the warmish day and the very steep climbs we had made to a couple of caches. We were about to join the path back to the campsite when we spied this cache nearby on the map, so we made a short detour and found this cache. A very cool cache Cal, thank you for bringing us to this spot. The cache is in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache, luttrellfive.
Chook and Micaparamedic donned their backpacks and enjoyed a lovely afternoon hiking up, down and around the southern slopes of Mount Beckworth today.

What a great day for a walk/hike around mount Beckworth, Not too hot and not too cold. I was especially grateful for not too much sun because I stupidly left my hat at home today. We originally were going to do this Thursday last week but 35 degrees walking around mount Beckworth didn't have that much appeal.
This was a quick find as we worked our way up the mountain.

We are currently heading east after curtailing our visit to family in South Australia and took the opportunity to look for a few challenge caches in the area. This cache was nearby. After an uphill walk, we got to GZ. Despite accurate coordinates, it took a few minutes of hunting before the cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Day 7 St Arnaud Campground to Mount Beckworth Reserve - Cork Oaks Camp ground
nice views from gz. Found after doiing the puzzle trail and lunch.
We left St Arnaud and heading in the general direction of Mount Beckworth Reserve to the puzzle trail. We stopped along the way to get multi's,puzzles and any local coucil areas. This was one of a small number of caches found on route to the reserve. We had to fix a staked tyre before we left, so it was a late start. quick find.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

A visit to Mt Beckworth has been on the cards since I was last here back in 2016. I still had the series to finish, plus there are some tempting new challenging challenges to be found. Today the planets finally lined up and together with Jacko, A and Anikano we made a day of it enjoying this great bushland.
After visiting the Lollipop tree we made our way back down to this GZ. At least the tracks were in better condition on this side, after a rather bumpy ride up from the north.
Thanks for the Cool Cache, Cal (and luttrellfive).

Running out of energy now! Haven’t found as many caches as planned but day has been full of adventure. Caving, 4WD tracks, hiking. That plus a 5am start for me to squeeze boxing session in before caching has left me sooo tired! But always worth it for caches haha. TFTC

We had specifically arrived at this lovely Reserve to seek our Challenge caches, but of course we came to search for this one too, which we soon found once at Ground Zero. TFTC. WE had come to this section of Mount Beckworth to collect as many caches as we could for the 400 with a twist challenge. 4th being our best caching day. Parked the vehicle close by and walked up to the top caching as I went.

Day 2 of our epic 12 day / 10 night trek to the Parkville Mega in Melbourne.
The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space. As we met and cached with other teams along the way more and more initials were added.
Today we had the pleasure of the company of Muff1, Goodlook, Wozzle68 and later Bushfire and Suscoe. So today we became GWAMBS. [:o)]
After a morning paddle it was time to say goodbye to bushfire and Suscoe and head up into the forest and grab the Christmas down under series, and head for the challenge cache series. [:X] Well we couldn't just walk by it..could we? Anymules found this one whilst I was looking in the wrong spot!

Another adventure day was planned with DAB to enjoy some time out in Ballarat and Mt. Beckworth. We were planning a day full of activities so the geo wheels was packed full of things, drinks and food. It was a great day out even with threatening rain which thankfully all came in the early morning before we left.
We were being very wary of snakes today as I saw one yesterday and thinking there could be a few around today. With so many hiding spots this one took us a few minutes to locate. So many trees down, it must be very dry in here.
**Thanks to luttrellfive for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy**

Another RDO and another day of caching planned for today. Na'wal and myself had discussed plans and we decided to target Mount Beckworth, plus a few extra on the way. Leaving home in the rain, we hoped it wasn't going to hang around all day. Luckily it had cleared by the time we were approaching the outskirts of Ballarat. We had an awesome day, which included some tree climbing, kayaking. hiking and even some spelunking !! An exhausting , but very rewarding day.

Having just arrived home yesterday evening after an 8 day trip away[|)], today it was time to head to Ballarat as Cybergran V had wanted to a ride to attend wozzle68's 50th birthday celebration.
Harry managed to find a tree branch while reversing and gave himself an injury: the rear window on the canopy shattered [xx(] at the 2nd cache find for the weekend and yet by the time this was discovered at Castlemaine, many kilometres later, nothing had fallen out of the gaping hole! Whew!! [^]
Cardboard and duct tape saved the day/weekend!
After attending the birthday celebration tea leafotwind, Rex and I headed out doing some caches until late in the night then after a good rest thanks to an extra room at leafotwind's accommodation (which was hugely appreciated [:X]), the next day we attended the breakfast event and then (after Cybergran V rejoined us) we headed out to claim some challenge caches accompanied for a short time by both Mrs and Mr Riddell
With the last cache of the 29 cache finds found at 6pm on the 5th, it was time for the drive back to Shepparton, having attended 2 events and only having 1 DNF and 1 Write note on a challenge cache that I do not yet meet.
As I am about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

After having attended the second of the birthday events in Ballarat I had planned to tackle some Mt. Beckworth caches. I was joined by locus cache and CybergranV which proved fortuitous both from an energy/motivation standpoint after yesterday's 20km+ of walking as well as a couple of puzzle solves. A great day out. Thanks to either Wozzle68 (or in this case lutterllfive) or McLookers for putting out the caches and drawing me to the area.
Found and signed today with a small group of leafotwind, locus cache, and Geodog Rex, after attending the Sunday brekky with Geocachers Event, in Ballarat, this morning.
My grateful thanks to locus cache for bringing me to Ballarat and to leafotwind for the comfort of his vehicle to tackle the lovely scenery that Mt Beckworth has to offer.
I could not believe how beautiful the weather was being so close to Ballarat, and in winter - we were so blessed to have been able to enjoy the day in such perfect conditions.

One of my goals today was to grab some of these elusive DT's up on the mountain and this one in particular had a sought after combination.
I didn't know that today was also the 100th anniversary of the Lollipop tree so the whole area was blocked off to traffic and I had to park in a field. I also had to register with them as I set off alone with 9 caches in mind.
This one was found on my way down and the cache is in great condition in its lovely hiding spot

Out on a run with ahomburg today, with the plan to do Pykes but with windy conditions too high we decided to tackle the Ballarat region instead.
What a nice area for some caches. It was quite refreshing to meander to each of the nearby challenge caches to reach this one. Nice spotted and after a scan finally cache uncovered by ahomburg. Nice size and swaps too.

I headed out today with SedgwickDave with great plans to hit Pykes Creek Reservoir and all the caches on it. Unfortunately mother nature had other things to say and with 35 - 40km/h winds, we decided it was an adventure for another day. Another area we both had not yet visited had us heading north of Ballarat to begin the day.
Loving this area, another terrific spot. Cache found after a few false starts.
Many thanks to luttrellfive for the cache. TNLN.

Today I was returning from Halls Gap with some caches in Ararat, and some challenge caches near Mount Beckworth. This one took some time to find. When I did find it, it was just sitting there and easy to see. I may have removed the covering while poking around with a stick. After signing the log, I returned it with some covering.
Thanks for the cache, luttrelfive.

As we were making out way to the Nash Bash we decided to make a day of collecting a few caches in the area.
Loved the drive and walk up to the GZ. Was a good excuse to get the 4x4 in low range and slowly roll up the hill.

We had hoped to make a bit of time and grab a few caches around Mt Beckworth to grab some older caches plus fill in a find in another region so headed up. The big tree is still down but looks possible to get around. At GZ we looked at the wrong item until turning around and sporting the hide. We completed the signing for duties and re hid. TFTC.
Found with the geowife and geodaughter after we had to turn back from a search for a FTF on a new cache further up the track as unfortunately the terrain was to difficult to walk for them.
Lucky for us it was still cool so the slithery and crawly wildlife were still asleep. Tftc

After attending the Surf Coast Mega Event in Anglesea over the weekend, we found ourselves unexpectedly in Ballarat waiting for our car to be repaired. We made the best of it and found a few more caches while in the area.
Thank you luttrellfive for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy.
