Great spot! Waa having lunch, thought 'be a good place for a cache'... was 3m from it.Don't have a pen handy... dammit.Found with TheladiesA - after wines.Tftc
The Rav JUST made it up the hill and another place geocaching takes you!! Great spot with great views of the Pyrenees!! Got to GZ and walked around summing up the situation. Read the Hi t then was lucky enough to find the cache in the first place I looked!! Like the compass swag in there!! TFTC!!
On a caching trip with Sol de Lune today. I can see why you chose this location to drop your emergency cache. It certainly is worthy of a cache spot and with no other signage it is a great way to get people up to the lookout. We were treated with a spectacular day today with not a cloud in the sky. We decided this would be our lunch spot as well as collecting the cache. After a Quick Look around the cache was spotted and our names in the log. Thanks for this fantastic cache, what a spot!
A run up the highway with Nelzarama, with our main goal being a series of cache just north of Stuart Mill. From there it was back to Moonambel for a few more caches.Took the drive in thinking this isn't a 4Wd only road...but then came to the sign. From there it was up and up and up to the car park were we stopped...and after a short search had the cache in hand. Log was signed, cache replaced and then had a spot of lunch before heading back down and over to the highway. Thanks for the cache callawadda cowboy...
What a view!
Following Chooknchunk up this mountain the muggle twin boys were excited to go off road until I told them we aren't in a 4wd!
Luckily Larry was strong enough to get up the hill and enjoy the view with RoamingHowie, OzHockeyChick and Chooknchunk.
Mister Muggle made a quick find before we took in the beautiful views.
thanks callawadda cowboy for pointing out this location.

I was spending the long long weekend camping out in Ararat at Green Hill Lake and so we managed to venture out from time to time to do a spot of caching.
We managed to find this one a little quicker than expected as it wasn’t properly hidden. Having a previous finder with us, the cache was properly replaced so that it is ready for the next finders.
Thanks callawadda_cowboy for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Time for a few days away, camping at Green Hill Lake, Ararat.
A short trip around the area, with chooknchunk, RoamingHowie, Kristysadventures and a couple of muggle twins. We stopped here to find a cache and admire the awesome views.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, callawadda_cowboy

Thanks to the callawadda cowboy for this location and hide. We enjoyed the trip up the valley checking out the vines as we went, we enjoyed the view, no wine for us as we were caching and driving.
Took a little while but then there it was.
Time to head to Moonambel.

Time to head to Moonambel.
After spending the night camping with Mr Dromaniax at their block in Moonambel we headed to Avoca this morning for breakfast before heading back to Moonambel to pack up camp.
With camp all packed up we planned out route home with some key caches that we wanted to grab on the way home. This one was on Mr Dromaniax to do list in order to avenge a previous DNF.
This time Mr Dromaniax made the find after a few minutes of searching.
Thank you callawadda_cowboy for bringing here to see this wonderful View

Mr Sims_family and Mr Dromaniax had headed up to Moonambel to take the Dromaniax caravan to their property. It was decided that they would camp overnight at the property and do a little caching around the area.
So the caravan had been delivered at the tent and stretchers set up. As the Avoca pub was closed today it was decided we would head up to St Arnaud to check out dinner options there.
It was now time to make our way back towards home bases.
As neither of us had any pressing engagements we cached our way back.
We had completed the Moonambel Adventure Lab and Mr Dromaniax wanted to rectify a DNF, so we headed up here to check out the view.
After around five minutes and observing quite a cross section of the local arthropod community we finally had the prize in hand.
Nice to turn blue to yellow.
The cache is in superb condition, as was the view.
Thank you for this cache callawadda cowboy

Find No. 3739. Found at 12.25pm.
Today we decided to go for a Sunday's drive to give our red car a run. The question was - where do we go? So it was decided we would go to Moonambell, onto Landsborough, then Ampitheatre to grab some caches that are in those towns. We came home through Avoca - unfortunately no caches there - we have them all.
FUF009 came with us and we also took Geodog Penny for a days outing..
We visited this area way back on Sunday 2nd May 2021 and had to log it as a DNF.
Today we had three sets of eyes looking and it still had us puzzled. Seeing how it had been found on 8th August 2022, we knew it would have to be somewhere so we just keep on a looking and upturning every single rock there was to upturn. Finally it was Mr Tyred n Cranky who came across this very well hidden cache.

Chook went on a drive today in search of more locations for new lab caches to come, and while not expecting to find the cache due to the numerous previously recorded DNF's, she thought she would check out the view and the location anyway.
Well we are really happy to report that this cache is not missing after all! It was found today, still safe and sound, nice and dry, exactly where it should be. It is just nicely hidden. Surprisingly it didn't take that long to find either. (Sorry to previous DNFers - don't worry, we have our share of repeated DNFs that everyone else seems to be able to find!). We've attached the pics of the logbook to show we didn't place a throwdown (even though we had contemplated offering to replace for the CO). And we will happily claim the 22 months of unloved. It certainly is a worthy location for a cache. Thank you for placing it and bringing us here callawadda cowboy.

We were hoping we could be successful where Legends had failed. Who were we kidding! We spent a good half hour looking in and under anything we could. All we found was some rubbish and an interesting array of creepy crawlies. Several types of centipede, some millipedes, native cockroaches, some pill bugs, many ants, a scorpion and several types of spider. We also found a magnificent view. If you have to get a DNF, then a great view can be adequate compensation

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out! Given the thorough search by 'Tyred n Cranky ', we're a tipp'n it's a miss'n.
Thanks for the hunt anyway callawadda_cowboy.

One of only two DNF's for the W/e. We came in the harder way but the white beast had no problems but the other way is a much better road out or in.
Great location but after spending at least an hour searching could not find anything that looked like a cache.
The other DNF showed itself on my way home.

Wonderful view. So glad to be brought up here, but frustratingly couldn’t find it. Another day.
Did Not Find this one, at 2.15pm.
Went for a Sunday arfo drive to have a look around Moonambel and seeing how there was a cache not far we thought we would go and have a look.
Well the view was great but that was where it ended.
As for the cache, it was no-where to be seen. We searched the area for quite some time, even widened the search. Done a PAF and still no good. So we had to drive away disappointed.
PS - We done what 'If' suggested and approached from the east and north which is a far better road and is much easier than from the south.

Last find for the day. And quite a hike it was too. Was pleased to reach the summit and soak in the views. How totally amazing. Soon had cache in hand, tftc
An amazing view!
Check out our photo... doesn’t do it justice, though with the last rays of the sun you would never believe that it’s been so cold and windy.

Football & Netball was in Navarre today so we (neisha07, boo09, chan02 & myself) stopped by here on the way home.
Despite reading previous logs, I managed to direct the husband up the harder access road. Oops.
A quick find once there and after checking out the view, we headed back home - down the nice, easy track! TFTC

Thanks Duntulum, for replacing this cache & giving us a reason to come here.

After job down the road I back tracked to this and went up mc adams rd [ 4wd] steep but road ok and found replacement cache . Great to be taken to a unknown lookout. TFTC
We didn't find it like the previous cachers, I did have a spare small sistema that I have placed GZ, though I only used my phone for the co-ords, so hopefuly it's where it's supposed to be.
Damn. This one is def gone, and the CO has been gone even longer. Next person please bring a replacement or this one will be archived. Cheers
Should have read the previous logs and then would not have approached from the wrong direction, and then would not have had to pretend that our little Toyota was a 4by4. As it wasn't, or isn't, we almost didn't get up the hill. Lovely spot for morning tea and a nice view. I suspect, by virtue of 3 fireplaces within 2 metres of gz that yobbos have found and destroyed this one. Needs replacement . And maybe an easier location, it's no fun turning over rocks.
No luck for us here. Drove up from the wrong side I think (south) but the low clearance car got there okay (just glad I don’t pay for maintenance on it!). Saw lots of likely targets but just couldn’t make the find. Thanks anyway!
Found it more by accident and wanted to learn more so googled Geo Cache and opened up a whole new world, looks like will make road trips with the kids a whole lot more interesting (Read could be addictive too)
Dried the box out, removed the dodgy looking powder and replaced with a Taltarni sparkling cork stopper.
Put the box in a plastic bag too to try to keep the damp down.
First find I guess.

Sorry for the late log, this one was missed in my 'found' file, so I never published the find. Found back in April 2016 whist in the area with geobuddies....my notes say "a beautiful view!"
Steep incline at the end, but our Range Rover made the hike well. Great view so thank you for showing us this beautiful spot! Left an alien, Indian 10-rupee piece, and a Canadian penny. Took some Pokemon cards and a Woolworths domino wth Elastigirl on it. Signed log.

Made our way from here from Gnone Tree Gnome. A absolutely stunning views of Moonambel. We are staying nearby at Easter with our Pajero 4WD Club Muster. Picture to come. Hubbybmade findvin second spot he looked while kids and had been looking for a little longer. Removed wet contents and dried it out as kuch as we could. Thanks for bringing us here.
What a strange place to have a lookout, great views. We feel that we took the harder road into this lookout, but that is OK.
Yes there are quite a few rocks/stones here but with great co-ords the cache was soon spotted. SL TFTC

We were passing this area and noticed a cache not far so a quick detour up to it. We were soon over looking many vineyards and with the Pyrenees Rangers in the distance, what a awesome view up here. After a short search we found the cache. ***warning*** we found a red back spider on the cache so we squashed it and had a look if there was anymore around but there was none. But please be careful still.
Thanks to callawadda cowboy for the caching and showing us the amazing views.

What a great view! The 2by made it fine here. Took nothing, left a rubber ducky (so he can have a swim in your wine glass). TFTC!!!
Just a quick not - hence the editing- if you hear strange, loud alien noises, don't panic!! We were on our way back down from the view and the bird scarer/sirens went off tap right beside us!! We had no idea what it's supposed to sound like, but we had no idea what it was and it scared the beejeebers out of us, so the birds don't stand a chance!!! Not something we expected in the serenity of the area/view.

Phone app died pretty quick on the way here. Lucky Nards had his Garmin. Good road until the end. Made it no worries in my little Laser though. Cache was a nice easy find once we got our co ords right. Beautiful place for a cache. TFTC
Great view, my good lady driving, we cme in and out via the winneries. My GPS was off a little on the co-ords. My Mrs' iPad had enough signal to correct us, great hint.
I left a nice prize for the next person to find, and we now have it in mind to carry a spare cache with us. Thanks for bringing us off the track.

After spending a couple of days at Moonambel I decided to search for a few geocaches in the area. Following a short drive in the 4WD along the track we were at GZ in no time. What a great view from GZ and oddly enough there seems to be no promotion of this lookout. Following a quick find and a couple of happy snaps we were on our way. TFTC and thanks for taking us to this great viewpoint.
Quick find with the geo-kid.
Funnily we have family that live in moonambel and they didn't even know about this lookout. We can almost see their house from this high up......almost.

In the area staying at Warrenmang for the weekend, checked out a few wineries including Taltarni and Dalwhinnie and followed them up with this cache.
Nice hide, found with MuggleWife and MuggleFriends. Not too much of a view today, just cold and wet and lots of low cloud.

Have visited Moonambel often and realised that caches in this area are rare. Had to track this one down, and we knew from experience that the views in this region are fantastic, and the wine is worth sampling as well. Quick reflexes on the last 3 kilometres prevented an unplanned meeting with one of the local kangaroos heading across the access road. Spectacular views, and we all managed to get some good photos of the view, although I think we need to come back at sunrise or sunset (probably with a drop of local red as well). Took Handyman Harley along for the view, but unfortunately couldn’t quite fit him in to leave him here. Thanks for the cache. You have inspired us, and on the way back we scoped spots to add some further caches to the Moonambel area.
Found with cousin Tish, out on a big wander around her local area. This is one of her favourite and romantic spots

What a fantastic hidden gem of a spot!
The drive was very doable in our 2wd.
It looks as though a lot of work has been put into the spot in the past and it is surprising there is no signs for it.
Nice easy find and we left a Tb to continue it's journey.
Thanks callawadda cowboy for using your emergency cache and showing us this spot.

A fantastic view. Decided to try the 4x4 only track beyond the lookout. Its quite steep but very do-able in a adventurous 2wd geomobile.
Busy going through my GSAK database and updating caches I haven't sent a log for. Have been using GSAK to keep tabs on my finds. Thanks to the cache owners for the caches. Working my way through those caches that require emails with answers.
Found without a working GPS!!
It's a great view indeed (and the road south to the main road is also a treat).

Easy find but forget that. Who would bother travelling overseas for views when you can get this in your own backyard. Bit of a hidden secret this one. Lingered so long I missed out on the wine - good excuse to return. TFTC.
Good cache. Took some 1st timers (HALOJIZE) along and they found it! My sister beat me to signing it so she got the FTF - I even tried to snatch it but she wrestled me for it!!! (Competition is alive and well!!) TFTCSL
