We stayed near Lawrence last night and were heading away this morning. Stopped to look for this cache. I made hard work of finding it and had to call on Mrs tbirds assistance in the end. She found it almost straightaway. Admittedly it was a few metres away from where my coords were suggesting I should look! #7313. TFTC.

In Dunedin for a wee Easter school holiday adventure. Rather wet so not sure what we'll be doing for the few days that we are down here! Today the aim was to visit Lawrence and then complete the walk around Gabriels Gully as MrsTGs ancesters mined here at the time....After having some lunch and waiting for a heavy shower to pass we set forth form the car with raincoats and umbrellas...thankfully the rain held off.
After completing Gabriels Gully loop walk we popped out this way to see the area where the field of daffodils is...and stopped here on the way back for a quick find and sign. Thanks.

I am geocaching with JDScout today. I have chosen this cache carefully for his likes and dislikes. Caching with JDScout is about compromise so we can both enjoy it.
After lunch we rested up before heading off for a short second ride to this cache and one other.

A nice quick find. I had a look, then Ms_KR had a better look, in the same spot. How did I miss it? One of life's mysteries. Thanks for placing your cache.

Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Lawrence to Lake Waihola today, With some biking and some walking too. A day of changeable weather, though not enough rain to slow us down!

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

#10,447. I did a bit of a diversion on my way to Invercargill from Dunedin. Yes its the road less travelled to reach that wondrous southern centre of hospitality and sophistication. The lure of some challenge caches and a virtual cache pulled me away from the main drag and up into the hill country. Making my way to Lawrence now. I have not been to this Otago town before. Sadly I wont get to spend much time here but I did stop for an ice cream and some nice nectarines. Quick find of the cache here. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Onslow Fisherman for hiding it here.

Had to make my way across a bit of plastic on the ground which rustled as I approached - yikes! Doubled up on courage and across I went, by which time whatever creature had been there had fled (before I did). Then located the nicely hidden cache in great condition. Nicely done. TFTC.

02-Aug-21
Apparently still a wet cache and after wiping the logslip dry, managed to scratch my initials on the log. The little woman's spare log slips she threw in last time were missing and she didn't have any extras. It really needs a new small container and RITR log sheet if anyone passing can throw one in. Thanks for placing a cache here Onslow Fisherman

Tania you left this here

Leaving for now but will be back soon. Wonderful place.

22-Aug-20
Arrived late into Mahinerangi from Invercargill on Friday night, but needed some vital supplies from Lawrence on Saturday morning, so a quick trip to town. Couldn't resist grabbing a few on the trip back. A quick PnG

22-Aug-20
After a hectic week we joined up with friends in a batch at Lake Mahinerangi and just had a much needed, relaxing and mainly unplugged weekend. We'd saved most of the caches onto an offline list, knowing the reception where we were was patchy at the best of times. Had to make a quick dash into Lawrence in the morning, of course we couldn't leave without a smiley or three! Cache was in good order. TFTC

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

13-May-19
Just finished walking Gabriels Gully walkway and now we are on our way again. So yes we are leaving Lawernce. A quick stop here to snag and tag this one. Cheers

Its Wednesday 24 April and we are off exploring Milburn, Lawrence and Lake Mahinarangi today. Awesome!!

Its another awesome geoventure to Dunedin, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack, Jill and William all along for the trip. Had a wonderful 10 days exploring Dunedin. It was great catching up with local cachers at several events we attended. Lots of walking and driving, with the odd cycle and wave ride to jazz things up. Thanks to all the COs that made this trip a wonderful success. Even managed to bag some lab caches along with wherigos, earth caches and events, with the usual mix taking us to some amazing places..

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 8 of our extended Easter break, today we are travelling from Clyde to Dunedin via Lake Mahinerangi on a beautiful Anzac day.
We found this while leaving Lawrence Smile. Not great parking when leaving, but a quick find meant we weren't here long. TFTC.

24-Apr-19
Just walked around the gold mines, so yes, we're leaving. Haven't even cached out Lawrence, which means we'll have to come back one day.

Taybeedragon and I have an eleven day Easter weekend in Dunedin. Although, let's face it, given that we are from Blenheim and Picton that means two of those days was spent in travelling. In that time we grabbed a smidge over three hundred caches. Not bad, considering the amount of time spent way out on the back roads, on bicycles or canoeing on the water. A few virtuals, larges, letterboxes, earths, wherigos, and even ten lab caches in the haul. An awesome weekend!

18-Apr-19
15 Nov 16 Found Parked up at the gateway avoiding the soft shoulder and wandered over to the GZ. Popped my hand in hide and grabbed the wee black con. Was a little wet and the RITR slip was wettish. Wiped it down after some of the ink had run and scratched my entry. Changed the mini bag and threw in some of my own RITR slips which will take a mark much easier and returned to hide. TFTC Jim. Was gonna replace the film can but things are holding their own here. Will return to carry on up the route to grab further caches one day.

*Cache and log replaced by gracious local cachette. Will last a bit longer with good carers.*

18-Mar-19
On my way out to the new Multi at Weathersons and thought it would be rude not to stop here.
Thanks for keeping this one going. I really enjoyed meeting OF at a GSAK-training event he organised in 10/2011 at Roxburgh.

At last, a free weekend before the onset of chaos. An early morning phone call...'are you able to take xyz up north to a customer?''
There was no excuse not to, quickly chucked clothes on dragged her outta bed raced into work, got parts, and on the road before 8am.
As we drove, the voice from the passenger seat, piped up and said ' look at all these, aren't we going near here?'
Oooh Goody!! Now it's a fun work trip, might be a long day!!!

Well we arrived before we left and them arrived again but will be leaving or maybe not until we have arrive just one more time and then leaving.
What a beautiful day and plCe with a lot of history
Log wet replacement log added

WhTs not to love about a caching trip combined with downsouthinv having to deliver parts for work.
Any excuse is a good one, and time to head off the main road into the wilderness to find us some caches.
We found it very saturated, so replaced log.
Then we left town!!

17-Nov-18

I can arrive if I'm not leaving, however I cannot leave if I haven't arrived. One could say that I have arrived, even if I haven't left. Therefore, I should leave, even if I haven't arrived, and even if I haven't left at all.

This was a quick locating job with only a few passer-bys at the time. had to carefully step over muddy drive but cache was ok. the waterproof lag was wettish but quite signable. thank you for the cache and another smiley face on today's visit to look over Lawrence instead of just passing by.

Heading to Central so a nice easy P&G on the way. TFTC

28-May-16
After attending the local event, it could almost considered rude not going to grab the local caches. So CJ-Curry, Hevic, Granville, Kiscardi and I did a trek around town in the drizzle attempting the caches.

As we finished logging the cache a dog walker down the road shouted at his dog and we thought he was yelling at us. We were ready to throw the cache back into place and leg it but luckily we didn't have too.

28-May-16
Tftc - quickly found with fellow attendees at the Lawrence event

28-May-16
An event in Lawrence prompted a rather rainy daytrip to the area for Hevic and myself. Found alongside Natalie247, Granville86a and Kiscardi as we made an organised attack on all the caches in the area post-event. I found this one in a heartbeat, being at the right height to see at the right angle. Cheers!
