Hi there bumandworker. A quiet day today (Anzac Day) in Wanaka, so we had a slow start before heading out - first for a couple of caches, then for a little shopping for the week. We found this cache at around 3:19:00 PM - TN, LN, SL. Thanks to bumandworker for this cache - our find 9699 and the 2nd of 2 finds for the day.

#20429. We'd come to the end of the "official" to find list (partly because we'd driven past quite a few to drive rain) so I was winging it in terms of what to do next. This one was all by itself, and not far away, so we headed here from the Wanaka airport cache. We enjoyed the drive through interesting country, and quickly spotted where the cache would be. I went and did the paper work. We then headed to Wanaka via boundary road. Just after turning onto Boundary Rd we nearly got collected by a ute towing a trailer full of hay, who came over a crest rather quickly. TFTC.
A wee detour as we (slowly) make our way from Christchurch to Wanaka.
We were surprised to find a b&w cache so far from home. Ha-ha very droll. StreetWalker made the find here. TFTC.

Found on a overcast day. Not aiming to get to many today as cached out most of this area last year
Taking a week’s holiday in Wanaka with Mr K. Have a list for some easy caches in the area hoping to increase my daily find rate to 1 per day. Today was the fifth day of our six day break.

First cache today on my 60 km long "hunt", loop on bike from Wanaka via Luggate and Albert Town.

Day 8 NZ trip....
Wanaka was our destination today, mostly due to the need for an EarthCache, we also went to the awesome Puzzling World, grabbing 10 caches in the area.
Now that is a cool road marker, the biggest cairn I've seen..... TFTC!

Quick and easy park and grab. I was left wondering how did they get there like that? TFTC.
No real parking so you have to be careful. Driveways before and after so come as a team if you can. On the way here we spotted a huge hawk and were able to stop and take some great photos. Love the road marker! Criffel Station looks cool and love the rock formations. TFTC

Found with Tim. I love caches like this, bringing us to random spots slightly off the main road. We'd just been to the nearby lavender farm, heading to Alexandra with some caching along the way. A favourite point from me. Tftc

A quick park and grab while on the way to a family wedding in Harwea. Very hot up here today TFTC
Visiting from the states for work and enjoying my first day on holiday by doing some caching. TFTF SL
The last time we visited New Zealand in 1998, we missed the Milford Sound because of lack of time.
Now, as W is working in Sydney and C is visiting him, it was very close by.
So we decided to turn her visit into a small New Zealand vacation.
And off course this can't be done without a few geocaches.
A few turned into about 150 of them.
We started in Queenstown, but this time no bungy jumping anymore.
At the airport we switched the gsm-card to a NZ one, with internet access.
That way we would be able to check for recent logs and spoiler photos.
After we got our rental car we started the gps.
We're not used to driving on the left side of the road, but that was no problem with all the road signs.
During our last visit it was summer, now it was autumn.
The weather looked more like home, but we had our umbrella and raincoat with us, which we used a lot.
At the Milford Sound the rain was an advantage, as the rainfalls were huge.
Today was our best caching day, 25 founds.
we decided to take the scenis route to the last part of our route.
That was because of this cache, too close by.

Came here this afternoon to find this cache. Really cool rural location. GZ was unmistakable once we got there! TFTC

Came back to town via the long way. Might have avoided the booze buses as well! Neat structure, thanks.
The country is beautiful around here, particularly when the sun is low in the sky.
Just in case you don't know, there's no public access to the Cardrona valley from Mt Barker Rd.

A fun wee location! Homeward trek after our winters tour down the West Coast. The weather is great (though cool), and the scenery fantastic. What a beautiful country we live in. Thanks for the hide.

Thought we would nip down this shortcut seen as we didn't yesterday. We placed a cache near here today so thought we better knock this one off. Nice road marker. Biggest cairn we have seen. Mrs Guzzi gets to do the climbing once again.

not quite a drive by but a cool spot none the less. found on our detour on the way back from the snow.
TFTC!Interesting structure here. The cache was a quick pick-up, and no muggles around at all. Nice homes in the area--but pretty much any home in this beautiful town would be nice. TFTC!
EstesLynne has been doing all the driving while we are in NZ for the week, since she spends half her time in Sydney, and the other half in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She is an expert driver on the switchbacks and also gravel roads, but is getting tired of them. There were no muggles around for this cache, and the road marker was pretty obvious if you weren't expecting something else. TFTC!
Huge cairn! How on earth did the rocks get like that? Enjoyed the drive on the gravel roads. TFTC. Glad there are no snakes in NZ.
Found easily amongst the swirling road dust of passing cars!. Wow, what a monument!
