On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. Nice cache. FP given. Thanks
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks Challispoint for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
my friend gave up in 2 minutes I was not impressed, pretty chill to find
Lol. Even touched it, picked it up, 10 minutes before finding it! Different angle and then spotted it
Second time to the end of the gravel road looking for this cache. Finally found spotting the cache muggled in middle of carpark with no lid. Some swag was jambed in the cache and whilst no discernible logslip could be spotted, We threw in a cleaner new RITR logslip in wee baggy. No one local is coming back for this cache and going by the fly tipped rubbish left dumped at the carpark, no local cacheri have been cito'ing up here either. We removed two sacks of trash on both visits and made use of a juice bottle lid to replace the missing lid which just fits but it wasn't a common lemonade bottle, just some kind of drinking yoghurt bottle. Not the camo'd cache I was thinking of but at least the stagnant cache owner had put some effort into creating the unique container at some time. If our log has been removed, you will know who was recently responsible for interfering with the cache. As a few abandoned caches have our newer logslips, no one local has been doing their upkeep on these forgotten caches. Noice views from the carpark. Have been to the other end maintaining a forgotten cache, new container, logbook etc . . . so no plans to cache the cliffs around here for awhile, they can wait for some other time. Returned cache in the spot best fitting it's purpose to be found as co'ods danced around under the trees and I wasn't keen on scaling the overburden heap with barbed wire hidden in the rank grass. Hopefully at the spot it won't get buried by the next fly tipper. I'm not sure what the cameras see but it hasn't acted as a deterrent to roaches. *Labyrinth High fav **20pt** Trad **340pt*** TFTC Challispoint Someone cared enough.
I walked up from the bottom - great views, well worth doing. TFTC. I signed the back of the log - it’s fragile but still useable with care. (There was also a bit of paper stuffed in the top labelled ‘No log found. Replacement log’, with undated signature of Lions v Lambs, Whitemoose. )
A straightforward find when you know what you're looking for. Log signed & replaced just as a walker approached from downhill. Enjoyed the great views and the vintage farm machinery in the next door paddock. TFTC
Geocaching really is good for the mind, body, and soul. After feeling in a bad way this afternoon, Hevic offered to take me out to find one. I zeroed in on a high favourite cache to get some altitude going, and together we went out to the peninsula. We found it remarkably quickly, surprisingly given the previous logs saying it was tricky. Enjoyed the hide and I can see why it has favourite points aplenty. Cheers!
This tricky one had me searching for ages. Finally tracked him down. The lid had broken so substituted a drink bottle top to stop it being invaded and contents getting out. cheers ..
Thats it for today. Time to get back to Zara for dinner and some much needed sleep.
Saturday 14 November. Balclutha - Dunedin
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

Found this easily enough. Start of a wee walk on such a beautiful Dunedin weather. TFTC
Good turnaround point for an upward journey. Was looking for something different to begin with but once I was in the right place it was obvious. Lead has split so in side is now a little damp but paper is still dry inside the bag.
Thanks nice to find after having a blue dot for over two years. Knew I just needed to persist with looking. Have walked up from the bottom of the hill.
Found a cache down near the beach that I’m sure I had looked for before. So two good finds today.

Found this one a long time ago and kept it for a dot day. But seen that I had completed my dot days a long time ago I can log it now. I do love the view from up here and today was a bit windy but good view. TFTC
Out and about with BCD on a gorgeous Dunners day. Had looked for this one previously with no luck but someone made a quick find today! TFTC
down to dunnas for the weekend to "cache up" with KJR
Out on a Saturday mission had my hand on it straight away while K was still scratching her head !!!

Beautiful site with amazing views. We had some trouble finding the right road but found it in the end. Nice container! TFTC
We loved this hide. Very cool! Gets a favourite point from us.
Left an Indian 1 Rupee coin, took nothing.
The lid of the cache is splitting but it's dry inside.

i had a look without any luck so I decided to take a break and do the cache further down the track. Upon arriving back I approached from a different angle and soon spotted a possible hide. sure enough there it was. Great hide.
Muggle parked right in the gateway, so we headed down to the boulder and got that first. Wandered back and he was gone. Bit of a hunt for this one, very well hidden. TFTC
On my mission to reach 2000 before the end of the year, so glad to have something nearby to attempt after work.
Nice simple one as had seen another like this. All in good condition.

Out and about with Archie my 7 year old great nephew and caching buddy on a bit of a trigging run. Not much success with that this afternoon, so we decided to grab a couple of caches ... this was the second. Quick find here ... Arch was most impressed with the camo and so was I, so giving this one a fav.
SL as did Archie, but he won't log online. Thanks for the hide Challispoint ... dropped in a couple of path tags and took a little orange monster that Arch liked

Thought we would find this cache as we have spoken about it often. Nice spot Challispoint! TFTC Fav from us !
Thought we knew what we were looking for but no, not quite so easy. Love the camo! Found with Aoraki Sheep.
This one took a few minutes of searching. Thanks for the effort put into the hide. Found with debsnz
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
Decided that after dinner to head up the penninsula. Great cache. Replaced log. Fav
Thanks for the cache.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Out and about caching on the peninsula during the evening. Getting on dark but the cache was quick to find. Cheers.

End of the road, found a car stereo then the cache. Thanks for the hide.
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Found some rocks and rolled my ankle. Made for a long and painful walk back down to my car which I had parked at the beach. I suppose I wont be caching for a while. Oh well these things happen. Thanks It will certainly be a memorable cache! Counting this for my #4 ramble.
Screw top cracked, and the log is a tatty rag of paper, but it's a good cache otherwise. Thanks.
Spend a while looking but with no luck. Lots of dead grass could be hiding it very well. Will have a look again when a bit warmer.
amazing views on the way to the cache, and great camo - definitely a favourite!! TFTC!!
Replaced logbook totally saturated and moldy

Met up with ISIS - first meet with another real live geocacher and it was lovely to find someone so friendly. TFTC and the Company.
Can you believe it - come to the end of nowhere and there is a biker and obviously a local pointing out all the local features. I'd come this far so decided to sit it out. Finally the guy moves on and the biker starts doing some familiar moves. Great camo. Nice to meet you jrb5050 - a new and very enthusiastic cacher. TFTC #4341
TFTC! Nice location and great view. We were glad that the big bisons and bulls were on the other side of the fence as they were watching with great interest...
Love the extra effort.

I visited your cache as part of a week-long self indulgent Geocaching trip from Nelson to Bluff and back again. I apologise for not leaving a completely personalised log, but I do want to thank you for the time, money and effort you put into placing your caches. Without people like you who place caches, there would be nothing for the rest of us to come and find. You are fantastic

Sheer comfort geocaching. A drive within a few meters and a systematic search produced this cache. The log is damp but still useable.
Great camo container. Found it quickly once my GPS settled down and I got the general direction. TFTC.
A quick easy find of a nicely crafted cache, on a more sheltered part of the Peninsula today. TFTC
Easily found. TFTC Did a spot of CITO near GZ, got a bag of empties for the recycling.
Been down here on caching business before. Great place to visit toward the end of the day - neat views.
A great excuse for a Sunday morning bike ride up Highcliff Rd and back down Karatai Rd. Congratulations on the beautifully done container!
