Out and about today poking around Dookie, as the power is out at home, a great reason to go caching.... The container needs replacing, I don't have one with me. Thanks for placing this cache here for me to find and showing me around this beautiful place. The local history is amazing. TNLN TFTC

Out with Happy pants, omegaman1971 and Rebel Acts for a fews days celebrating my special birthday. In Shepparton and grabbing a few around the area. Stopped off here and found all the info for a likely set of co-ords. It didn't take too long before we were able to sign the log. Replaced the container as it was damaged and log was wet. Thanks treenz.team for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Moving today from Shepparton to Wangaratta. Couldn't be too early at the caravan park so a detour to drop the van off and head out to pick up some caches near Dookie and Devenish. RazzTFTC treenz.team [^]

This cache needs maintenance. It is wet and the container is falling apart. It is a lovely area and was a quick find. Thanks for the cache

An interesting final location to complement the theme. I enjoyed having a look around. Unfortunately the container lid has disintegrated and this has resulted in rain getting inside. If in the area again I will try to replace it. TFTC.

Shepparton is an area that we often drive through but has never been a destination. This Kings birthday long weekend we made it our destination to tick off some caches in the area

Nice easy find Log was very wet

Thank you treenz.team for an interesting multi. Well planned and easy to follow.
Glad to see that the 'Bank' is still well cared for. Many years ago we were privileged to view this historical building.

Finishing work early, and needing a cache to fill a gap in the caching calendar, and knowing I had time to do a multi, I picked this one, and glad I did. Love all aspects of this cache. The container at final GZ needs replacing, I will try and get back soon and do that. TFTC treenz.team

TFTC. treenz.team for your cache Cashel Bank To Dookie that we found today.
We are staying at our daughter’s farm block just about mid way between Shepparton and Violet Town. After spending the morning on the phone trying to organise things we headed out toward Dookie to find some caches and enjoy the sunshine,
All caches were found in good order and mostly quickly.

Find Count: 16305

Rutherglen Mega Roadtrip
Day Six: Wangaratta to Kerang
Weather: Sensational morning, Smokey afternoon.

Having just stopped here for the nearby trad, why not wander over and see how far it is to WP2 for this one? I decide to proceed. Unsealed roads, but in good condition. I always worry that coordinates contained in a nano that have been there for some time might be unreadable, but these were crystal clear. On to the final. Having already read Thewins5 comment, I walked in armed with a replacement. The old cache seems a bit out in the open, but it has survived this long so I guess it’s ok where it is. I have put a small container inside the shell of the original, one of the gifts from my Rutherglen Mega backpack - I though it would be nice to leave part of it behind here in Victoria.

A nice multi, thanks treenz.team.

It’s officially a mega!

With the rest of the family in Sydney and a busy few weeks coming up at work I decided last week to have a day off to go caching. Looked at the map and initially thought about Shepparton but then saw an intriguing collection at Mount Major so that became my target. Picked what would be a sunny day (was raining when I left Albury but was fine most of the day - though very windy). In the end a successful day with 26 caches found and one DNF. Turned out to be a Team BGF day.

I liked this multi - no tricky maths, a simple nano and GZ was an interesting spot. Drove past my target but was sprinkling so kept going to this one instead. Unfortunately the cache is not long for this world - lid was off, cache full of water and the container is quite cracked anyway. Would log a maintenance but not certain if CO is still active. Was a nice journey though.

Went for a delightful lunch at the amazing Tallis cellar door (highly recommended!) with Julesc21 and violafireworks and we collected this cache on the way back to Shepparton. Great drive through some back roads that we definitely would not have gone down without this cache and a nice easy find at GZ. TFTC!

23-Apr-22
After a wonderful lunch and walk at Tallis winery with Diana8 and Violafireworks, on our way home we found this cache. At GZ wasn’t too hard to find. TFTC.

17-Apr-22
waypoint 2 easy got to wp3 this was a little bit of a challenge as we were looking for a 750ml painted container container is no longer painted and is not 750ml but in the end we found it

15-Jan-22
We took a detour here as one of us needed a cache for the LGA, and who doesn’t love a multi! This one didn’t disappoint. The well hidden nano at WP2 was soon found and then off to GZ. Thanks for the cache

14-Jan-22
Needed a cache in the Shepparton shire and I also love a multi so this one made the cut. I really liked the interesting way the WPs were laid out. Nice variety and took us somewhere we never wouldn't gone on our own.

14-Jan-22
Travel companion, Hera, needed a cache in the Shepparton shire, so this was it. Really enjoyed this cache and the countryside around it. Would love to walk the nearby trails if it weren’t so hot.

10-Jan-22
This was not an ideal cache to follow while towing a caravan, but I couldn't not do it, could I?
All went well, and container found in good condition.
Thanks for showing me around the district, treenz.team. Now I must make some miles to my overnight stop. Good work.

20-Nov-21
That was a nice tidy good multi. Found last waypoint ok on this nice Spring day. TFTC. The final container was out in the open a bit so tried to hide it better.

18-Oct-21
Collected information at WP1. Found container and got coordinates for GZ at WP2, but we were heading in a different direction, so put on hold until another day.

06-Oct-21
We have now found magnetic nano W2 very clever - they have sprayed the long grass around w2 so it was a little easier to search the area!

10-Sep-21
We couldn’t find the magnetic nano at w2 but we were able to work out the final location from messages and photos on here. Unfortunately we couldn’t find the box as the grass/vegetation was quite dense and being the start of spring (a nice warm day) we came across many wriggly sticks sitting out to get some sun - so naturally we decided not to poke around too much … we will be back next winter for another look when the wriggly sticks go into hibernation

03-Jul-21
Decided to get this one as we were on our way home from a huge day caching in Greta, Glenrowan and the Warby Ranges. It was a lovely multi along a lovely part of the country. Thank you for providing and maintaining this cache.

14-Apr-21
Staying in Shepparton for a few days with the kids and SMS83 and her kids. We hit up some unfound caches as we explored the town and ventured further afield. Today we hit up silo art, wetlands and bushrangers! Thanks for the cache.

We started this cache on the way to Shepparton, and finished it on the way home. Interesting information about Cashel town and only parts of it still exist. Easy find at GZ, lid was broken, tried to cover up as much as we could. TFTC

17-Mar-20
So very sorry for such a late log. Just going through the photos on my phone and noticed that there were a couple of caches that I had missed logging. I was doing a streak at the time so only doing a couple a day, then due to lockdown, totally forgot to log them. It was handy that we were staying in Shepparton as we didn't have to drive so far to make the find. Again, apologies and thanks for placing the cache and bringing us here.

11-Mar-20
Finally found it - helps to put in the correct coordinates. Plastic Cache container disintegrating, I will replace it in a couple of days. TFTC

Thankyou treenz.team. Big Grin
I don't think I have ever "needed" a cache find as much as I needed this one.
You see...... I spent the day in Beechworth chasing multi caches for a challenge cache I am having a go at where I have to find 6 multi caches in one day on 2 separate occasions (GC4JKJ2). Cool
I thought I had succeeded in bagging my 6 for the day when I suddenly realised on the way home that with one DNF and a mystery cache being confused for a multi, I was one short. [:o]
I pulled over close to "Rocki's Corner", checked my map and saw this one cache sitting here alone in a sea of smileys in an area I thought I had pretty much cleaned out. Razz
I have no idea how or why I missed bowling this one over years ago but I am jolly glad of it now. [^]
All way points in good nick leading to the final with accurate coords (found quickly under torchlight). [8)]
Although the contents are remarkably clean and dry, the cache container is badly damaged and won't see out another season. Red Face

TFTC treenz.team and thanks for the unexpected torchlight adventure. Smile

This multi has taken over 12 months to finally sign the logbook, but it was worth the wait. Cache container has a broken lid and clips. Tftc

26-May-19
One year and one day it has taken us to finish this multi! We started last year while we were here at a funeral. We had joked after the formalities were done about if there was a multi here, what cemetery doesn't have a great multi highlighting great stories? With not enough time to explore between burial and wake we saved what we needed for ánother day'. We came into the pub for tea last night and grabbed the next bit of information that we needed to find GZ. This morning we got up, packed up, said our good byes and we were heading home. But not without finding this cache. A fp from me for the information we learned that we wouldn't have if we didn't cache, also because its a great multi that highlights cemeteries (and we didn't stuff it up at all) TFTC

26-May-19
We started this multi 1 year and 1 day ago after my cousins funeral. We knew we would be back to finish it off and last night we made it to WP2 and this morning we found the cache. Usually we stuffed up at least one number so it was great to come across a multi that we couldn't stuff up even if we tried!! TFTC

08-Apr-19
Driving around back roads, suddenly a cache with a mozaic mural is nearby on an old hall so must see. OOPS cars and people a many, quick check of mural and move on.
Soon nearby a multi. At WP 2 it is hard to believe against the harsh surrounding area that a viable town of this size was once here.

This Multi was fun and informative. I'm enjoying this area. Love the scenery with Mt. Major to the south Smile

Gathered the required info and made my way to the WP's and finally to the Final GZ. The container was exposed to the weather and was missing it's lid. SL at 12:24 on Tue 9 Jan 2018. Replaced the lid and rehid under some natural camo. TFTC treenz.team Smile

I must be feeling better as this was the first time in ages that I had ventured out after work to find some caches! Cool
Interestingly, I was targetting a particular cache that taunts me everytime I go to Benalla but....
I got distracted and found 3 other Smile caches instead SurprisedWink
A fun night with a fantastic multi cache and some old cemeteries makes locus a happy geocacher [^]Smile

I absolutely loved this awesome multi for the history lesson and the great WPs [^]Cool
Found at 9.30pm on a cold and very dark night! Surprised
Took me a tad of time to find, too, as the GPSr had me in between a couple of possible options and in knee high and bloody wet grass TwistedRazz
Of course, I'd followed the GPSr past the first option so I checked the second one first then finally returned to the first one Red FaceRazzBig Grin

Found this one again, forgot to log it on the app last time, but looking at the physical log, we were the last to find it over 12 months ago on 2/2/16. Still took us a good 5 minutes to find the cache, couldn't remember the hiding spot from last time TFTC (again)

I was a bit worried when I saw the word Nano as I do not have a good record with Nanos. Got through Waypoint 1 fine and headed of with trepidation to Waypoint 2. Had a good look around and couldn't see it so I stood back leaning on the car thinking not another Nano failure when I saw the little sucker. Made my day and I went on to sign the log. Gifted the cache with a smiley key ring and thoroughly enjoyed the multi cache.
Thanks for the cache on such a beautiful afternoon.

Magic multi really caught my imagination. What a story of survival for two towns Cashel and Dookie. What a difference a rsilroad makes. And now time catches Dookie and strangles its existence. Hope the College keeps it on the map and the Emporium continues its service. Fav. TNLN TFTC

I said I would be back !! [:o]
Today I returned to Dookie in the rain Smile
A muddy drive back to the final GZ and guess what !!??

The hole the muggle was digging last time I visited had been filled in and just a mound of dirt about 2 feet wide and 6 feet long remained to show where the hole had been [:o]

So I continued wandering around the area and soon found a well hidden cache Big Grin

Good to complete this Dookie saga [^]

This was a very enjoyable multi-cache that took me on a scenic drive between some great bits of Dookie history [^]
Well worth chasing Smile

The Cashel Bank is a fabulous structure with an interesting history !!

With all the waypoints found I headed into GZ and found more stuff to take a Dookie at Razz

There was only one problemo at GZ !!
A muggle was digging a hole just a few metres away !! [:o]
It looked like he was going to be a while yet Razz

So I had to leave this find 'til later.

Bettyboo3747 and I wanted to grab a challenge cache in Numurkah, so we travelled a convoluted path to grab some other out of the way caches we had passed by on previous trips.
We had a look at the cairn and thought "that must have been a very small church!", but as we saw from the next way point, it was not the case.
Interesting information here and explained the fancy house we passed at the last corner.
Off to the final. and another fascinating spot to have a look about.
Thanks for the great multi.
Thanks, Robmc.

11-Feb-15
# 7438. Another very hot summers day and Robmc and I are driving a few roads less travelled between Beechworth and Numurkah to complete a challenge cache there. We are fortunate to be gathering quite a few interesting finds along the way.

This is definitely my kind of cache. I love visiting little historic cemeteries and places of definite historical interest. Had a bit of a wander and noted one headstone remembering a wife and their 4 sons (two of whom were lost to war). What a shame the church was demolished but we did see a photo of it later on. I think I may actually have had a look around the outside of Cashel Bank at some stage.

So pleased that GZ took us to where it did. Not so pleased to see the drawings left by some idiot cacher (I have scribbled these out at previous finds around the place, including in one of mine). Unfortunately they do not leave their names or I would give them a piece of my mind.

Left one of my newly activated TBs to start its journey - a $100 note kering and one of my new Phryne - Mirror Pathtags. Took a good look around and a couple of photos before we left. Favourite point from me.

Thanks treenz.team

Found on a long weekend trip to Shepparton for some caching, and relaxation. The trip today bought uss past this point, and the decision was made to stop and make this the 6th for day 2. The multi was worked out reasonably easily and the co-ords were punched into the gps and off we went. We really enjoy doing the cemetery caches, and always spend some time walking around, and checking the dates. Thanks for bringing us here. The GPS was playing up today, so we were a little out, then we put the GPS down and used the caching brain, and the cache was easily located, the log was signed and replaced. Then on to the next one..
Number 9 of 29 caches for the trip on the road to 1900...

26-Oct-14
Suscoe was heading back to Benalla after their second day caching in Shepparton.
This was our 25th find for today. The weather has been kinder today with a little less heat which has been appreciated.
This was a really interesting cache and we were impressed with the locations and the remarkable history of this area as shown through this cache.
Amazing to think that all that we here.
Cache found and we removed one of the offending pages.
Coloured over the other page.
Thanks to treenz.team for constructing this beaut multi, a well deserved favourite.

Still on our little jaunt around the area (which was slowly coming to a close) and swung over to this one as we can't pass up a nice multi
Rocked up to WP1 and gathered the required info, then had a little stroll around the grounds, just to see if any distant relatives had procured a piece of real estate.
Then it was off in a cloud of dust (as we hadn't washed the GeoTriton for a while ) and lobbed up to WP2. We were immediately taken with the nice old building and stood for a fair while reading gone info board. A slow moving farmer Brown must have thought I was a bit lost having a car with yellow plates way out here off the tourist track. But I put on my best invisible ninja and he cruised on past and left me to the nano finding.
We'll find it I did and we were soon off in another cloud of dust to GZ.
I arrived at the GZ area and after a short search had the cache in hand and signed the log book......a bit disappointing to notice the juvenile muggle entries, wonder what their mothers would think of the rubbish that comes out of their little darlings.
Oh well......
A nice spot with views to finish off a nice multi.
Thanks treenz.team for another top cache!

04-Oct-14
I started this Multi months ago. Having no problem with the first waypoint and continued on to the second. Do you think we could find that nano!!?
Returned today a lot more experienced and found it immediately, very clever placement!
Being in Dookie for their big Earth Weekend we participated in a lot they had to offer before heading homewards. Since the third waypoint was only a slight deviation, well it was a dead end (pun intended), it was only a matter of time before we uncovered the log. Some kids have desecrated the log pages with filthy drawings. perhaps the cache owner could go there with a glue stick and adhere the offensive pages together - if I'd had one with me I would have fixed it for you.
Thanks for the educational Multi I have enjoyed completing it

#990 On our way to Numurkah then Shepp we picked up a few caches along the way. We gathered the clues to the next stage and then gz and enjoyed in between driving along the back roads with the windows down on a sensational Spring day (except when Mr BGF jammed Max the geohounds head when partly raising the left rear window... but that was soon fixed after a bit of a yelp). Some very nice views of the canola fields this time of year. Cache found without issue and log signed. This is a great little multi - Well done & TFTC treenz.team.

A chance to get this cache at last! My GPS said that I was 9 metres away at GZ and put GZ in the next paddock. Maybe the wind was blowing the signals!! I had a good look through this cache but could not locate the TB. Maybe it has not been logged yet. LNTN

I located the micro with the coordinates at #2. The smelly sheep is now only a few tufts of wool on the ground and not difficult to be around. I must say that the micro is difficult to see but it is right there. I didn't go on to locate the cache at these final coordinates as the sun was pretty well set for the day.

Looked all over wp2 but couldn't located it. Of course, the dead sheep nearby did not help Sad

I was disappointed because I couldn't find the nano. I searched the trodden oats to no avail. I will have to come back another time, especially after another cacher's successful visit!

A nice multi for a sunny winter's day - I'd sort of guessed WP2 but liked reading the historical info there - what an amazing story! Then off to GZ and a quick search had the cache in hand - more interesting history there. Thanks treenz for a very nice historical multi - a fave point from me..... Dropped off German TB which wants to be close to sheep.....

Started this one late Saturday but I ran out of light so today was the next chance I had to come back over to Dookie to finish it off. I had completed the first waypoint just had the remaining two to do. Each were quick and easy and I soon had the cache in hand. I live quite locally to Dookie and have never been here great spot with all the history spent quite a bit of time just wandering around reading the headstones.
I took Thomas the Tank and left Mr Potato Head. SL TFTC

This was a pleasant surprise. I'd seen it in passing before but until now didn't have a GPS that included cache descriptions and consequently never came prepared. Now I have the info and it was interesting to read a little history about the area and visit a couple of locations I'd probably never have gotten to otherwise. We have friends that live within 5 km of that start of this cache and I'll bet even they wouldn't have seen this snippet of history. I'll ask them next time I see them.
Thanks indeed treenz.team

Ate our pies and boiled the billy in the cemetery car park. Had a wander and read before heading off to WP2. We did notice a freshly dug grave, and as we left 4 council trucks parked in the side road. Quickly spotted Nano at WP2 and continued to GZ. After another wander and note that all the graves were facing East, we located the cache. On our way back through the town, coming in the other direction, was a funeral car and followers obviously going to the first cemetery to the fresh Grave site. Glad they didn't arrive while we were sitting on our little stools eating our pies and the kettle whistling.!!!

This cache started off our great geoccaching day.We headed to the start and found the info quick but at waypoint 2 there seemed to be thousands of cars. Second To Find..... Saw the 5 new caches come up courtesy of the notification system. Thought i might be in for a shot, and headed out as soon as i could get the kids sorted. Five kids and one wife in the car, and we headed off. After making the find, realized we had been pipped at the post by MV.... After speaking to him on the phone, seemed i had missed him by about an hour.

Loved this multi. I kinda like old cemeteries, and this one had two. WP1, as MV stated, you don't ofter see these at this sort of location, then off to WP2. Took a little while to find the nano, but read the info (even with broken glass) and i thought it was pretty amazing. Off to GZ for a rest stop and run around for the kids, while finding the cache. Will favourite this one. Took a few pics and will upload one. TFTC.

Reperio at 1510. FTF! On to the second dookie multi of the day, and the first WP was really interesting. Don't often see these here. On to WP2, and thought it an odd sort of a spot for an info board, but after a quick read, Darwinian spotted what we were after. On to GZ, and after a short stroll around the area, the cache was located.

Another nice multi. Have certainly learned a lot more about the area.

Gratias.

At weypoint 1 we quickly got the info & headed to wp2.
At wepoint 2 MV searched madly for the cache while I spotted it from the car Smile.. We then made our way to the last wp where we found the final hide. Thanks for the mini tour. MV & D
