Since I was the last finder to replace this cache I did a quick check on my morning jog... It appears excessive natural camo had made the cache un-retrievable. Re-done. All Good - go find it
Another DNF. I accidentally revealed a huntsman as big as my hand. Time to get out of here. Checkup may be needed.
This was a tough one although we got lots of hints from previous finders. We didn’t end up making the find will be back
3rd time visit , being stubborn!
Needed TOTT. Old log is pulp.
Replaced with log in plastic bag - remember the scroll goes INTO THE LID before you put the tube together again

My son and I looked for this cache today. going by past logs you need to be tall and we are not
Spent 1/2hour bouncing around like the gps.. No find.
(why would a Micro need heavy camouflage, and how is that a Hint? )
Probs won't bother a later revisit. D3 is obviously not my thing....

A quick find with good coordinates, though not where I expected it to be. Placed a signed leaf inside as log a sodden mess, then departed before the mossies could eat me alive! Thanks for the cache glenferns
Took a bit to find and when found the log was soaked. I added another piece of paper but that will get soaked too I imagine. Nice walks through here. TFTC!
GPS receiver took a long while to settle given the tree cover and clouds, but when it did settle coordinates were spot on.
As others have noted, cache is rusty and no longer waterproof, in spite of being wrapped in a plastic bag. Unable to sign log. It's a sodden mass that won't unwind.
The hiding place seems large enough to conceal a larger container and won't get much direct sunlight through the canopy. Maybe a small Sistema food container would last longer than a metal tube that rusts when water pools in the hiding place. But a food container would still be problematic to retrieve for anyone under about 1.8m tall.
I was surprised to read Vimiera Reserve was name after a ship. I'd assumed it was named due to proximity to Vimiera Rd. According to Wikipedia, like many roads in Marsfield and Eastwood, Vimiera Rd was named after a battle, not a ship.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsfield,_New_South_Wales
That claim in the wikipedia page has no direct citation, but seems plausible given the number of examples it gives of street names matching well-known battles.

We found the cache lying on the ground just below a likely hide. After just managing to sign the damp log we tucked the cache away where we thought it should go. Thanks glenferns.

That took awhile. Got to GZ and looked in the obvious places. Looked up and down. Had to resort to previous logs which help me narrow down the search. Dam I hate being short lucky for me there were many natural TOT.
One log said it was not in the obvious spot, so I ignored that obvious spot and that thing that was hanging from it...and wasted time hither and thither. That thing that was hanging out was indeed the cache knotted up for protection from water. I untied it and there it was. I had a fresh log in my wallet and took away the damaged log. I tied it up just as I found it and put it back. TFTC
That was a tough one and took us two tries. Not in the first place you think it is. If you’re stuck check out the pics for clues.
I have my car in for its rego check today (great timing given the shutdown of non-essential services) so i headed out before dawn to grab a cache today.
It was still in that twilight period when I arrived at the GZ and began searching with the help of my phone torch.
Despite having read the clue a few comments back it took me quite a while to find the cache as i had fixated on the wrong type of place.
Once i found the cache and extracted the log i found it to be dry but so brittle that it was falling apart in my fingers.
Thanks.

After far too long we looked at some previous logs for good hints. Log totally mashed up so took photo . Hot muggy Australia Day. Thanks
Please take care is new planting in area! Spend 5 days working here putting them in place
Lovely green area for a walk. The cache was soaked, but we still managed to sign and replace it. TFTC!
I lived nearby on Wood St for a little while, so it was nice to come back to the neighbourhood and walk up Terrys creek.
Found the cache bag tucked into its hidey hole, covered in bark. Luckily I had the height to feel it and make the grab. What remains of the log was still soaked which is kinda odd seeing how dry it's been. Signing duties done the cache was returned to it's perch. Thanks!

I have no idea where this cache might be as the phone just wouldn't settle in one spot. Searched in all the likely spots but no luck today.
Found after checking wrong spot and then the previous logs told us that what EH found earlier wasn't doggy do but actually cache do! Log soaked. Needs serious replacement. Unfortunately we didn't have anything on us. TFTC
I thought I'd uncovered a dog-poo bag left by an an irresponsible dog owner, but was relieved it actually was the cache. TFTC glenferns
Nice one! I think I got very lucky with this and managed to find it in the first place I checked!

Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Lovely winter's morning
Cache condition: Fine
I needed a calendar find, so decided to explore the area south of the M2 as part of a long-run. I parked at the bottom end of Kissing Point Road in Wahroonga and headed past Brown's Waterhole and then on to Terrys Creek Track. After a quick check of my cache under the M2 I continued on the track, really enjoying the serenity (when away from the major roads) and scenery, in particular the waterfall.
Once at GZ I saw an area that looked likely, but it wasn't quite right, however from that point I was able to spot the "camo". Luckily I am tall so I was able to reach it without too much trouble. TNLNSL, thanks for the cache.

Spotting FlutterbySquishy’s feather (or its duplicate!) told us we were in the right place. First instinct to ignore obvious, and a read of the log helped out. Earned this one!
Great hide! Eyed off the location pretty quickly, used the phone camera to confirm (geo girlfriends idea) and found.
#120. 10:15am Got it after a long search. A previous log entry gave me an idea. Bingo CIH & log signed. It was a nice walk in and out. Another hidden gem in the burbs !!! TFTC
Took me a little bit to think about this one.... waited for some muggles to walk past then after re-trying the same spot. I had cache in hand.

You certainly need feathers to reach this one...

Located at 4:32pm. Wanted to grab a cache after work and decided to finally give this a go after always driving past and never ‘having the time for that one’...today I made the time and arrived at GZ relatively quickly. Checked a couple of likely spots and quickly had CIH. My height certainly gave me an advantage. This was a grid filler nonetheless Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
What a struggle! A number of visits with a number of eyes. In the end it was the younger eyes that found it.
Had to cross creek to get to the trail, walked along a bit and had a look till i found it. Great camoflage
The container is rusting and the o-ring is missing. The logsheet was saturated and unusable, so we left a temporary logsheet. The container was placed in a plastic shopping bag (it's all we had) to try to protect it from further deterioration and it was set on a small stone to stop it sinking into the leaves and mud within it's hiding spot.
This cache container urgently needs some maintenance.

Finally found it!
I've been here a couple of times before without luck - cache missing, stuck on the wrong side of the creek with geodog who was terrified of water, and of course, just couldn't find it.
Last time though I did decide where it must be.
Today it was a team effort. This is definitely not a one person job. Geomobiles were parked in Vimiera Road and we walked the track towards GZ. Good to see the council have done some major upgrades since I was last here two years ago. Once we neared GZ there was a lot of watching the metres and the pointer on the GPS. I was sure it was in one particular spot but we checked around everywhere else first just in case while the GPS settled.
Some discussion and a plan to check my suggested location was hatched. When everything was in place, wouldn't you know it, some muggles walked past. Whatever did they think we were doing?
Forget them, cache retrieved! It was very wet inside but I always carry spare paper and scissors to cut it to the required size so the log was able to be replaced.
Good avenge the previous DNF and replace that evil blue thing with a bright yellow smilie!

Thanks Glenferns for the history of Vimiera. Mr Ozjeeper joined with Jackscruff who wanted another go at this one. She had a fair idea where it was but no means to retrieve it.
A search of easier-to-get-to spots turned up nothing so there was only one thing left for us to do - we needed to figure out how to get to the likely hiding spot. A nearby object was turned into a height-adjustment-mechanism and I finally was able to grab the container.
The logsheet was waterlogged and unusable so Jackscruff provided a new logsheet while I dried out the container. It was covered in mud. the o-ring was missing and it was starting to rust. Some cache maintenance needs to be done ASAP. We replaced the container in a shopping-bag (it's all that we had) and it now sits on a small stone to stop it sinking into the leaves and dirt. This should make a much-easier find for future seekers.

Second time to find. Yay found it. Lucky we had someone light to pick up to retrieve it!! Took a friend along
A huge water dragon watched me the whole time I was searching. It might have laughed at me for looking in the right spot but not seeing the cache. It too a while before I looked there again with better eyes.
The log is just mush. I did manage to put my crown on it, but nothing else.

A day out growing with my sisters dlturner and kazzacosmo and we needed to have another attempt at this one. Yes we got it
The initial GPS reading took me to almost exactly where the cache was but it took forever to figure out where it was and how to get to it. Luckily, there were lots of objects around that helped me reach it. Being a good climber doesn't hurt either Great cache. Found it hard to write my name on the log in pencil though because the paper was very damp, may need replacing. TFTC
Walked in from Dence Park to tackle this one and Nothing. This cache was a great learning experience for me. I was being bounced about all over the place but with some patience I kept being lead back to the same-ish area. Knew I was on the right track when I saw something that wouldn't normally be around. Ultimately I did have to look at some older logs for an extra hint and found it. The log was damp for all the reasons that others have given. Did manage to sign it and my writing is kind of legible! TFTC and an enjoyable walk along the Terry's Creek Track.

Parked near Ooples and Banoonoos and made my way along Terry's Ck Track. I enjoyed the walk and the area around GZ. Looked in a lot of places before finally trying in a place that was hard to reach. Confirmed with my iPhone camera before performing some acrobatics. Looks like the camo is missing, but the main thing is that I got my name on the "new" log.

Tftc, came here yesterday and had a look around with no find. Some of the recent logs gave a hint and I thought I was looking in the right place, with no luck. Messaged a previous finder who confirmed I was looking in the right place. I came back today and found it where I had been looking. This cache is not for height challenged people.
The cache is missing its o'ring and the log was pulp. Added a small bit of paper with my sig on it. Since the CO is no longer active, I might pop back with a similar cache to fix it up.

When we first started caching this one seemed to be going through a large DNF patch and may have been suspected of being missing but with a few recent find logs it was now time to have a look. So on the way home we detoured over and found the short route to GZ. The bush turkeys seem very active here and we'll feed in size so we wonder if the camo had been moved. Some hunting around and a think about different locations finally came up with the hide although the final camo has come off. The log is just about pulp due to no o ring and the location but we did manage to get our name on the log. TFTC.
With some assistance from Frazel again, managed to find this one pretty quickly today.
Finally 4th attempt at this. Was not where I was looking all the other times. Team work by us and Ash.Kate. Super excited
While I had searched for this cache previously so I knew it was around happened to be doing some bush regenerations here and before I actually looked I thought that looks like a cache on the ground. opened it up and it was. looks like it's been muddled, was full of water and also found a pen on the ground nearby. put it back up high where it was and yeah you're the need to be tall to get this one and probably have flexible hands. The next person will hopefully bring a strip of paper for it. Tftc
Came through the Terrys Creek walk and - naturally - stopped to hunt for this. With D3.5 I knew time may be limited as it was already early evening, sun setting a little later.
In 20 mins no stone was left unturned, no log checked. But unfortunately the same applied also to mozzies and me: they started to come thick and fast, wanting to check every inch of my skin... At the end I simply gave up.
On another day, then. Until then, TFTH, Glenferns!

Yay! A really good find! We missed out here in October 2014 and now we know why. We spent more than half an hour here combing every nook and cranny. Well, clearly not every one or we wouldn't have been here that long. We can say that past logs are all correct. One photo which we relied on to get us in the right place is not correct. in the end, it's right where it has every right to be. It's just that there are so many other likely places here. The replacement log from Martin Cousins is very wet. Yep, it's the o-ring - or lack thereof - even in the plastic bag. Happy to get this off our watch list! SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
It's here, unbelievable too.
The GPS didn't take me up on the high ground today, like on my previous visit. iPhones??, why didn't I search here last time? Not quite an obvious hide, and didn't expect it here too.
Couldn't open the container, so walked back to the vehicle where the multi grips at one end and pliers at the other, working in opposite directions, was able to gain access.
No there wasn't any smoke ot pressure release gas, upon breaking the over tightened seal. It's missing the o-ring, thus letting in moisture.
Couldn't sign the soggy log, so discarded it and added new one, as well as placing the container inside a ziplock bag. Walked the same trail back and replaced for the next finder, thanks Glenferns

Came for another go at this. I think you need to check this one. Too many did not finds!
Spent a good 40mins, really needs a cache check as I'm unsure whether it's still in plat
Between nothing and this one I heard a bit of commotion ahead and saw two little kids with mom chasing a bush turkey? I stepped aside so the entourage could pass. So even though this one appears to be missing, it was a nice trek after all.
Didn't have much hope and sure enough no find. With a previous finder noting it is missing time for a check I think. Maybe an upgrade too, micros are not suited to the Bush.
Unsure whats going on with this one. If this was meant to be where I think it is, then I'm pretty sure it has gone missing [?]
But there was a cute dog barking at us and we found an old tennis ball in the bushes and lobbed it over the fence for it.

Well buggar that.
I needed a find for 21-1 and went to something near todays jobs but no caching luck, so came here on the way home.
I've been here before but no luck but now being a year wiser I thought I'd have more luck. But no!
So now I get home and come to write my log and see its missing. GRRRRRrrrr

I cannot believe I have to say this, but this cache has gone missing. GZ has changed quite a bit since I last saw it, and so the cache has unfortunately gone.
P.S. The Forrester Park and Wood Street entrances to the track are blocked off - enter via Essex Street.

Made our way to Terry's Creek walk and GZ. Had some thoughts about what we might find - two pretty confident ideas and one other possibility. Well, there were plenty of possibilities for our confident options but none worked out for us today. We know that glen ferns is a tricky hider so we'll put it aside and think some more before we return to try it again! Cheers... Gaztek
After much searching we finally had to admit defeat. Hhhmmmm yep it's got us baffled
So many rocks, so many trees, so many possible places the cache might be...
Didn't find it...

What an idea to hide a micro in the woods, and it appears there had been snakes observed, brrrr
As I am walking today through the suburb of Eastwood, I walked through this little forest and found the little cache hidden deeply in its camo, ahhh.... pew - no snakes

Great little gully, I remember mt biking up here once.
Im starting to look for the more difficult ones as most things up to 2.5 are easy once you have seen a few of them. This has me thinking for a bit, but in hand in less than 5 mins. Didn't sign, as I never carry a pen.
Good work and thanks.

Started near the Crash Cache on Vimera road as in the description there was written easy access to Vimera and Nothing. The easy access developed to be very difficult as I haven't found the easy creek crossing. So after some bush walking I managed to cross the creek and headed left. At GZ some wild turkeys watched me looking for the cache. I have checked the D rating before so I decided to read some logs before. The photo helped as well since coordinates are not accurate due to tree cover. At first I started to look on the most obvious spots but I thought it can't be there since several and even experienced people failed.
I spotted apart from the obvious ones and had CIH.
TFTC.
The log is really wet which is due to the missing O-ring of the container.

I defeated the spider guardian with my stick of ultimate power, saved the princess, and found the treasure. Unfortunately the water gods have cursed the logbook and I could not sign it. TFTC!
Happy to get a smiley for this one! Been here before about a year ago but ran out of time. Started looking very thorough around GZ and had it within about 5 minutes this time. Couldn't sign though The log is mush. TFTC!
Found at 5:19pm. I had attempted this cache once already with no luck. The first time around I was not quite in the right area. I received a subtle hint from a fellow cacher which allowed me to broaden my mind when searching. Made the find within 10 minutes on my second attempt. I managed to sign the log only just as it was very damp and I can understand why.

Hmmm, just found Eastwood County Road #5, and I'm on North Road. If I keep going, I'll get to this cache, which I DNFed back in October. 6:30pm - still plenty of light...
Well, I have had a while to think about this one - and reread the logs. So I know I was in the right area back then, but the types of possible hides I'd checked were all empty. However, there is one type of hide I realised I hadn't checked.
OK, I'll look at them first, and if that doesn't work, I'll [s]panic[/s] [s]get a chainsaw[/s] rethink it again.
Walked to GZ from Wood Street. As I crossed the creek I noticed a couple just in front of me (wearing good work clothes). I think they were concerned I was following them, but when I stopped near GZ they kept going.
Got my bearings - where to start? Began checking hides near where I think it is. Could not see many of the type I was specifically targetting first up, but after only 3 minutes I hit paydirt. CIH! DNF expunged!
Opened the cache. Log was very damp. Completed signing duties as best I could. A good dry out and an O ring should fix it.
As I was leaving, the cache replaced, I was taking a last photo of the area when another muggle walked past, asking if I'd spotted some wildlife. I said no, just taking a photo of the rocks here (which was true). He continued on his way and I returned to my car, another smiley to add to my collection.

As I was leaving, the cache replaced, I was taking a last photo of the area when another muggle walked past, asking if I'd spotted some wildlife. I said no, just taking a photo of the rocks here (which was true). He continued on his way and I returned to my car, another smiley to add to my collection.

We started off by parking on Vimera Rd, then walking past the Forsyth Park sign. However, we turned the wrong way and ended up in someone's backyard - oops. They kindly suggested we were lost, and pointed us in the right direction.
We got a few metres in, then a massive black snake (assume it was a red bellied black one) slithered by, so with two geogirls with us, we scampered back up. Yikes. I think we'll approach from the other side of the creek next time.

Caching gods were with me today and with the help of a previous log, found this in about 1 minute, saving me probably hours of looking otherwise. Log is really getting worse for wear now and needs replacing.
Searched for ages but couldn't find it, even after going through all the logs looking for clues
Will be back another day with a gps rather than an iPhone!

19/12/13. 6:56 AM. Cache #1147. Finally! A return visit in a cooler time of day (no close encounters of the serpentine kind this time). Familiar route - parked on Vimiera Rd near Forrester Park and walked to the back right corner. Crossing Terry's Creek took me from Eastwood/Ryde Council and into Epping/Hornsby Council, where this little bit of bush is called Vimiera Reserve and the trail is less overgrown. Back to the familiar search area.
This time, I'd been given advice from a recent finder about which photo from this cache's gallery to focus on, and an idea of altitude. That was enough for a really quick find, at long last. I expected the log to be too wet to write on (correct), but not knowing the exact micro size, I didn't know what sort of replacement paper to bring, otherwise I would have. Took a photo of the cache if evidence is required.
This was my closest unfound to home for a long time (not counting a billion D1.5s from the usual suspects that I usually cleared within a week or 2 of publish). Now Happily Ever After is my only unfound within 5kms of home. Better get back on the dwarf trail, I suppose.
Walked back to the car and an email from my watchlist came in- Vimiera had been found by MVD yesterday. Ha! Now I'm off to another glenferns cache in Eastwood, Wallumedegal. TFTC }:)

First of a trilogy of caches on the way home from work. It was eventually found after a lengthy search as there were many places to look within a 4m to 5m radius. Certainly an interesting old sandstone quarry site as evidenced by the pre-split holes. Unfortunately the log is mush. I was just glad that I didnt see Kid Ron Satan's black and red-bellied mate or any muggles along the track whilst I was there. Many thanks glenferns
