Seems this has gone. Sad

This cache has not been found for over two years. It would be good if the CO could confirm if it’s still there. Thanks.

Visiting Ohope to see a cousin. Decided to detour down to Murupara and collect some smiley faces. Sadly this was our one DNF. Had a good search but no joy here.
Had a slight detour to get here as the nearby bridge is closed. Will plan to return sometime.

Todays Team BOP road trip was made up of Davidson Clan, NZFlossy and I and our target is Nerweeds Murupara/Galatea trail - but of course I'll try to stop at everything I can Smile
Cache found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placement. Cheers mineemo, TFTC.

Down this way doing a road trip collecting some new caches. We were in Richards Nissan so able to handle the potholes much better than in my little Suzuki. I haven't been down here for a long time but have been here a couple of times when we walked into the Midway hut. Sadly this hut has burnt down but you did always have to worry about the car parked here. Found the cache quite quickly but it is very wet inside - I was going to replace the log but feel it is a waste of time and will get wet again very quickly. TFTC

Got to this one right on dusk so used my headlamp and found it right away as cords were almost spot on. However had to dodge several piles of human poo at the base of the bank - man some people are lazy and disgusting !

DNF, in a bit of hurry, as needed to get on the road.

Found it after a little searching. First cache my friend and I have found, so it was a fun wee adventure Smile Didn't take anything, just signed in log book.

I now see why I didn't find it. No tree near the cache so didn't scratch right there. A half rotten branch next to where I found it and I put it back in the same place. Perhaps if you are up here again mineemo you me find a more specific spot for it. TFTC
Nice to get this off my Bug Me list.

Coords were OK, only 4m off for me. The hint is what is wrong (and should probably be changed). I found the cache almost straight away using Geckoh's hint. After that I went back to the car to grab a big supermaket bag that I filled with rubbish from the site. It's not perfect, but it should make searching a lot more enjoyable for the next cachers. Took stamp left rat and something else I can't remember.

This cache has been sitting on our closest to find list for some time and a maintenance run in the area was the only excuse we needed today.
We even prepared a "Horomanga Consolation Cache" to place for those who can not find this one, after finding it rather quickly using the updated description we had plenty of time left to walk some of the tracks and place a big cache.
Just for clarity it seems it is more at the base of a fallen branch Big Grin

Cache was a bit water logged so we emptied and dried as best we could, logbook was dry in its baggie.

Still amazed that we did not find it last time!
TNLN TFTC!!

Well I was ever hopeful having seen P&P's lastest entry, but due to my lack of experience or perseverence (certainly didn't search that long) or something I was unable to uncover.
When i arrived it looked like Bree's rhino from Grant road had rampaged thru the area. I used a stick to remove any leaf litter from around trees that hadn't already been removed, but all I turned up was piles of rubbish including a used baby nappy - yuk yuk yuk !
Didn't get much fun out of this one - will watch to see what happens.
Huge kudos to P&P for their find.
PS. It was a lovely sunny sheltered spot Smile

Driving home late from Rotorua, that niggly place is still niggling us. Shall we take a detour to check...again. Are we that mad? But its dark and wet, no worry, the truck knows its own way by now! Hallelujah, found!! Big GrinBig Grin TFTC.

No surprise.

DNF again, strike 3 and we're out! Took the opportunity to check a couple of places that niggled us, and could see signs that told us someone had been here since our last search. Another hour and nothing again.

08-May-11
DNF for us, looks like one if not a couple of previous searchers have attempted this, but not logged a DNF.

08-May-11
DNF again after another 3 hour search. Reassuring to see others had looked in same area.

Thanks mineemo for bringing us back to a favourite place. The Ranges looked stunning after the rain with a couple of mighty water falls plunging from gorges high up in the hills. We enjoyed our "gone bush" weekend but are disappointed with a DNF after a 4 hour search.
