Soooooooooo many spiders here! Huge ones! hunting by torchlight but we still managed to have a pretty good look while dodging giant arachnids... might be worth a CO check as the obvious spot was bare. We'll definitely be back (possibly armed with a can of raid!) TFTC
So GPS was not being too friendly and tried to walk me into that! Log is damp but signed. TFTC!
From the name of the cache and previous logs warning about dampness and mud, I was worried that I might be a tad overdressed for this one today. Fortunately retrieving the cache was not too messy; however, the contents of the cache were a little sloppy so I was glad to have taken the advice to bring a tissue or two to wipe my hands. The dampness of the logbook meant it was not easy to write my name, but I signed it nonetheless and replaced it as found.
Nice fish but maybe not big enough to keep.

Easy find but my hands stink now. Guess you get used to that when you go fishing TNLNSL TFTC
I was hoping to make a quick find and stuffed some tissues in my pocket after reading some previous logs and walked briskly from the car to the water's edge only to discover I had driven to the wrong side of the creek. Not wanting a swim on a crisp winter's eve, I thought I might try from the other side next time I'm over this way. On the up side, I did spot a very cute marsupial on the water's edge, so it wasn't a completely wasted visit to this lovely spot.
Second fish for the day. Im on a roll. This one however was wet and slimey.
I really enjoyed these 2 hides. Different idea to most iv seen so far. Clever.
Nice walk early in the morning.
No muggles which could have been a lot different if I came an hour later.
Not sure I'd want to keep any fish from that creek though. So I threw him back for someone else to find

Found this one in connection to earn my first souvenir of the road trip. The cache is not in a good condition. A little bit of water was inside of the container.
Right. So now I have wet muddy hands. Thankfully I have tissues in the geobag. That was a bit of fun. Decided to PAF before spending too long looking and getting muddier. Good thing the 'friend' is the boss at work. He will totally understand why I am a little late. Wet slimey thing in the cache scared the hell out of me when I went to retrieve the log. I should not have been too surprised though as it's all in the name of the cache. Left some Pirate Treasure. Thanks for the cache.
Find #1449 at 16:35. Oh, in there. No wonder I couldn't find it last time.
The GPS was being much more cooperative today and led me to something off to the side that I had not noticed on my previous visit.
Alas, even after the recent maintenance, there is again water in the cache and the log is damp.
Still, it's right there waiting to be found
Thanks for the cache, stairman1.

A visit from the CO would benefit this cache.
Log is soaked.
Contents are all wet.
Wire trace is broken making it a lot more difficult to retrieve.
Happy caching!

Not a lot of caching time available today but we'll see if we can squeeze in 10 smilies!
Third cache for today & it was certainly an interesting location.
While the cache placement was away from the general public as such, the nearby Community Garden was a story all of it's own. Best left for another day! LOL ...
Back to the cache. On approaching GZ we were pretty certain we knew where the cache would be. We were correct in our assessment but how to get to it? It was a little awkward for Geo-pop so Geo-mamma offered her skills for the retrieval (she has smaller hands).
As far as we could see there were two possible points of entry, no, that one's way too small. OK, it's gotta be through here. Hmmm, ants everywhere, that could make it interesting. Any spiders? A bit of a poke around with a stick to stir any occupants up & remove the cobwebs & all seemed fine.
Wait a minute! Hold the phone! Look, there's something ... oh, doesn't matter, it's not connected to anything.
Geo-mamma summoned all her courage & after a few tentative dips thrust in her hand & delivered the cache to Geo-pop's outstretched palm. On attempting to open the cache container, Geo-pop repositioned the container in his hand & the bloody big spider that was on it ran across my palm before jumping to the ground & running around the tree. Shudder ...
Log signed as best as we could as everything is wet. Nothing we could do to help so replaced as found but resecured wire trace by tying.
I think a visit by the CO is desperately needed here!

I'm sure it's probably still there but after several minutes of poking in holes and disturbing millions of ants I gave up.
20/11/14 I had to be in at work early this morning and the traffic was good so I had time to grab this one before my meeting. On arrival the was a mum and her toddler so I made the most of reading the signs. Once I locked onto the logical place I wandered over and found the tell-tale sign. Great hide. I signed the log and was outta there before being caught out. I love the way this cache was hidden so a favourite point from is. TFTC
Wo that was a quick find in the dark until a great big spider ran up my hand, I quickly retrieved the cache, signed the damp log and off on my way. TFTC
Out killing a bit of the with the sister inlaw nice easy find apart from the council mowing tftc
Out killing time with the geohound and geoterrier while the car was getting new tyres. Great walk around here. Someone was watering the community garden but appeared not to be worried about us.
Caught the fish and signed the log. Could do with a new ziplock bag but all was well with the cache.
Tftc stairman 1!

On the way to an Event tonight, I decided to do this little group of caches.
Headed in along the creek and realised I was on the wrong side.
Bit of training going on.
Back out and around I go.
Soon at GZ and found the cache.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks stairman1 All good with this cache

Had to pick my car up from the mechanic after work and thought I'd get a cache along the way wow this is such a beautiful place perfect for a cache took two dollars left gumnit tftc
A nice day for a walk this one scared miss bennybopper so that gets a favorite
Excellent spot! Lovely place to spend a bit of time as well. Log is a bit damp. Took the Spider TB.
Found in the dark. Coolest spot evermore a cache. Managed to retrieve the trackables and added one of ours. By the time we finished it was really dark cold and wet
Had the place to myself today so had a good roam around. As others have said, part of the park has been claimed - it is a community garden project, a great idea. I found the cache without too much trouble but felt a bit conspicuous opening the container to sign the log. I took some photos of the noisy kookaburras who seemed to be having a territorial dispute. Didn't see any of the snakes or other inhabitants of the area listed on the info boards. Dropped off two TBs - one wants to get to the arctic and the other is looking for knitters. Picked up the clogs TB. Thank you.
Tftc... great hide... Giselle used the nearby swing as the bff and I searched... found the gazillion ants a previous log mentioned... left the dutch clogs tb...
A short wander up the lovely (smelly) waterway from "Lets go fishing Norman #2", to find the other part of this series. A quick read of the description, wandering towards GZ, and decide that the GZ in my sights is where the cache would be. Found a stick to assist my search and proceeded to attack the area, annoying a gazillion ants in the process. Turns out I was in the wrong area anyway, as a quick check of the compass revealed that my original assumption was off (you know what they say about assumptions!), and moving to the correct GZ led to a very quick location of the cache.
Note - log was damp but writeable.
Also - after disturbing the ants I "felt" (or thought I felt them) crawling all over me for the rest of the afternoon…. a bit like when people mention nits and you suddenly feel your head itching

#7828. Troodles located this one pretty quickly. Then we headed under the nearby rail bridge to head to the next cache. TFTC.
Thank goodness this was a lot easier to find than the mark 2 version.
The lid was no longer attached, so had to put my hand in the hole to retrieve - eeek, thank goodness there was no wildlife surprises. Did a repair job so now should be working the way the CO planned. TFTC.

Lovely stroll around another part of town for me today, great hide. I too got attacked by a wiggly bug thing when I opened the cache TFTC!
I was asked to work today at Wooloongabba. It's been 41 days since I last worked. Purely coincidentally I have also put together a 41 day streak...lol. After finishing for the day, I found this one not far from where I working. It appears some group have taken over the park. They are growing their own plants and have facilities for kids. That's one way to extend your backyard. I've included some photos of my observations.
Nice container, good hide. Thanks stairman.

What a great hide! I got a little shock when I opened the cache and something wriggly jumped out at me! TFTC.
What a great cache! It was almost dark when I got here but still managed to spot the cache immediately. Really loved how this one was hidden! Can't wait to find part 2! Tftc
Found on a very quiet, sunny Sunday afternoon. No muggles in sight, fantastic cache. Really enjoyed it. TFTC

In the area today visiting a shop in the nearby Stones Corner. Having picked one up nearby, I saw this one at the end of the street. The big tree would be a kids delight with the swings and the nearby community garden for the grownups would keep them occupied too. At GZ, I circled around til I saw the right hidey hole and fished it out. TFTC stairman1
Out and about trying to round up some smileys before a milestone hike on Saturday. A nice sunny, but cool afternoon with some time before nightshift.
I am not sure where the previous hunter was looking, but they were well lost I think. No need to be anywhere but on nice flat, mown grass.
A nice quick find thanks. The log was a bit damp, but still OK.

After the rain, the area was very muddy. I got stuck in the mud attempting to look for the GZ. Couldn't move and couldn't get back up the little bank. After a slight panic attack,I crawled out on all fours.
First cache in a week or so... Stopped off on my ride to work, another nice hide. Log is damp, but ok. I have left a pen for future catchers! TFTC.
Fortunately it is easy to "fish" this out - bit scary in there. Great cache but unfortunately the log is very wet - perhaps water gathers in there if it rains? TFTC
Great creative cache it was high tide a nice spot really happy to see a community garden!!!!

Today, we arrived in the last city during our vacation Down-Under in Australia.
Just for dark, we still wanted to look for a cache in a park in the neighbourhood of our hotel.
The walk took more time as expected, because the cache was laid on the other side of the river, and there are not so many bridges over the water.
It was almost dark at the time we arrived on the cache-position, but we did find the cache pretty quick.
Now we know why the title is about fishing, the smell was there...
We had to be carefull, because there were a couple of muggles at the other side of the grass-field barbequeing, but they probably didn't see what we were doing.
stairman1, thanks for this nice cache from this Dutch team.

Great quick find in a nice quiet spot.
We used to live 3 streets away from here but left the city life for the country 5 years ago.
We always knew of this spot and it was very nice to see a common area for local residents.

After a recent discussion about this cache I just had to come and grab it now that I knew where to look. He he. Tftc. All good with log and hide.
My goodness what a pretty spot to stop. The two three y/olds and one two y/old loved the little play area and common garden. Wagons, slides, balls, bats, cubby houses, swing. What more could they ask for! Cache was in hand in no time as it was just laying there out in the open. Seems like someone either knows this exists and keeps sabotaging the hiding spot or some creature wants his home back and is oofing the cache out so that he can go to sleep in comfort. This is certainly an "I wouldn't have gone there except for geocaching" type of places! Worth visiting. TFTC
A quick walk over to here while in the 'hoods.
Followed the compass and from further away had a preconceived idea of where the hide might be. Halted when the compass showed GZ - and didn't have much appetite to walk further, as the tide must have been at its highest for the day.
Danced 360 degrees and there was one lucrative spot over the others, and when watching closely, a telltale sign appeared in sight. Yeah, nice catch, this one!
Left Cartoon - Homer TB. All good in the container. TFTC, stairman1!

Found very easily with wattshappenin as the cache was lying on the ground, signed log and replaced it in its giddy hole.
Saw the cache as we approached GZ, was sitting out of its hidey hole. Cache still in good condition though, so signed log and returned to its spot. Admired the fishing spot for a bit and then continued to number two.
Trying to complete my alphabet name challenge and this one filled in the 'N' nicely.
Nice little park, the geokids would love it. Nice work on the cache too.
Took some getting the car here from where I was on Stones Corner but made it in the end.
Cheers Stairman1

A nice quiet stroll over to GZ, found the cache quickly. Signed the log, and off again to the next cache location. Day 16 of the 31 day challenge.
Wondered over and surveyed the area. Noticed a nice spot and spotted something. A little tug and I was onto a winner, great cache/hide. Tftc.

Great catch by No. One son and daughter. Not sure who caught it first.. TFTC!
An interesting container always brings a grin to my face. Something else that made me grin was the way neither IolantheK nor myself bothered turning our GPSrs on initially, parking nearby and making (an erroneous) assumption about cache location. Poke, poke, poke, peer, hrm. Turn on GPSr. Ohhhh. Whoops. Quickly found then! And a stroll through the veggie garden on the way back to the car. I've always rather liked the idea of community gardens. TFTC, stairman1. =^.^=
After P`'s Dawn Mob Event this morning, La Kedi and I headed off for a couple of hours caching. We went to the wrong spot at first and searched all over, before we had a better look at the GPS Once at the real GZ, it was a quick find. Very cleverly done. TFTC, stairman1.
As I approached the waterway, it seemed that there was a lady walking her dog along here. So stopped to take a look at the waterway, which honestly is dismal, rubbish floating along it, and looked terrible.
Anyway she soon passed so I moved along a little further and soon had the GPS pointing at a likely spot. I moved in and made the grab, quite ingenious little hide this one.
I have picked up the TB and will place it in another water side cache very soon.

With a bit of time to spare this morning before having to be somewhere what better way to utilise it than find a cache or two.
I arrived near GZ and made the short walk over to the hiding spot checking out the info boards while there, interesting.
After a short search I soon spied it and fished it out. Well done Stairman on the name for the cache, if you had of had a line today I saw a dozen or so decent size fish swimming right in front of GZ.

I walked straight up to the hide for this one. it got a little stuck but with some gentle manouvering she came to me. we sat around it as I opened it and for got the name until I got a little reminder fright, hahahahaha very funy and a great job on this cache. It was a little wet but with our first aide supplies is now dry.

Net88, membsec and myself had just found the other spot for fishing and decided to continue on and see if the fishing spots got any better. Hmm, nope! But we did find a cache I was interested in the little garden close by and wondered why it was there. Signed the log and replaced cache as found.

Visiting from Newcastle NSW, staying in Greenslopes for a few days, good stuff, gets a favorite, TFTC stairman1!!
Out for a paddle up Norman Creek with Mr 07. We launched at the very good Heath Park canoe facilities at East Brisbane and wended our way upstream, past the Anglican Boys Grammar School (Churchie), boats moored in the creek, boat building facilities (a bit unexpected) and a flying fox roost (not in the least bit smelly). Under bridges with very low clearance for paddlers (it was around the top of a reasonably high tide), past the sign that said it wasn't safe for "small craft" to go further (we are adventure seekers...we kept going!) and all the way to Old Cleveland Road at Stones Corner where Norman Creek ends and a man-made drain begins.
On the way back downstream we checked out if we could access the #2 cache of the same name from the creek but it didn't prove particularly feasible from a safety point of view. We paddled down to this one and looked for a bit of bank that we could land on. One of the locals tending the garden wandered over and recommended a spot a few metres back from whence we'd come as that is where he launches from. This was good advice and we landed and took a well earned break and stretch of the legs. I zeroed in on the cache and found it with ease and unnoticed by the gardeners. I like the added sense of adventure turning a T1.5 cache into a T5!!!!
We continued back downstream. At one point I did a rather unexpected spider dance (very different from the ones out in the bush when you walk into a sticky golden orb weaver web), one must have dropped on when brushing through the mangroves and in so doing, flicked off my sunnies. So now there is a pair of prescription sunglasses at the bottom of Norman Creek .
All in all, 10km paddle, one smilie and a lovely day out. Thanks for the cache stairman1. Cheers, svn07

Came up here from the other fishing hole expecting something similar, but not knowing what exactly. After a little search my wife came up with another catch. Loved the cache.
I spotted the likley spot as I approached. No one was tending to the local garden so it was a nice relaxed signing of the log. TFTC
Second cache of a trio of lunchtime finds. GZ was clear except for a few muggles in the park on the other side of the creek. Enough natural cover between me and them to cause any concerns. Took around 5 min to locate the cache. Fantastic hide and container. Well thought out. TFTC
Found with ayepeacee this arvo while the leftover birthday cake melted in the backseat is that a community garden? Lovely. Ayepeacee found the cache in no time. Nice hide. Looking a little wet inside though. TFTC stairman1 ^^
=) Found with Brightskies today on our way back from Sunnybank, loved the small Community garden close by to this container. TFTC =)
I was able to park Sooty the cachemobile in the nearby shade and wander over to GZ...
Nice, easy find and interesting container. Perhaps something in the way of pre-loved military materiel?
Soggy loggy but otherwise all good!

Lived walking distance from here for 7 years & never seen nor been to this park/area before. Found it right away
There was a group of ladies conducting some sort of training session over near the road but they didn't pay any attention to the lady reading the signs and looking for insects. Great idea!
Another very cute cache! (Did we do these the wrong way around?)
Bettyboo again did the honors, handy person to have around when fishing.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 1224. Another fishy hide. As we drove up we noticed the little community garden on the edge of the park. It looked healthy and there was a gardener there pottering around. We walked across towards GZ and I soon located the hide. Another one that we all admired. The log surprisingly was quite damp. TFTC
