This was one of the more difficult caches to find this afternoon. After going to the more obvious log whilst fending off mozzies and one very annoying march fly I began to scratch my head when I realised my mistake, I was on the wrong side of the path and missed the more subtle log. I managed to make my mark on something foily attached to the logsheet. Thanks for the cache jasenjanine!
Out for a morning of caching around the Dam. Go Coords at GZ quickly had a sturdy cache in hand - unfortunately the log has most definitely been claimed by the elements (pic attached) and we didn’t have any replacements. Cache itself is in great condition TFTC
I wasn’t sure if I was going to get this cache as it was slightly outside the area that I had targeted for my afternoon, but decided to tick it off. Jogged to the cache, as the sun was making its way lower in the sky. At GZ, I found the cache, however the log book is gross. I didn’t sign it, but pic is attached as proof of the find. Log book needs replacing. TFTC. Clue noted
Tacking the Ewen dam hiking trail today to tick off some more cache locations. All caches were eventually found after some looking around and in usable condition, unless otherwise specified.. Thanks to the owners of the caches along this trail. It was much enjoyed!..
Started this mystery many moons ago and it was nice to revisit the area today to gather more info. I think we still have one cache to find before assembling the answers for the final. A great reason to come to enjoy more bushwalking. Thanks for bringing us here
A rude awakening by a very early phone call meant it was time to continue our caching day. With an early start it means some early caches before we meet up with Willis007 for our bike ride assault on Ewan Maddock Dam. A quick brekky a pack up and we were on our way. We started from where we left off, collecting caches in the Caloundra area and working our way to Landsborough.
We set off riding around the dam collecting caches and signing logs. This place is awesome with some really quiet and beautiful areas. We found all caches around here today; some really interesting caches and a few ammo tins, (love an ammo tin cache). We even visited a couple of caches twice as we backtracked around completing the multis of the area. The puzzles were fun to do and between the three of us, we had the solutions to all. Thank you for the caches, we had a lot of laughs today and some good exercise on those hills. Thank you to my caching buddies for the day out, it was a fun day.

Heading to this area today to find some caches around Ewen Dam with Triple Turmoil and chamad. We headed around the dam on bikes, others were enjoyable walks.
The cache was quickly spotted, log signed and all replaced as found.
Thank you jasenjanine for the cache and for bringing me here.

Chamad and I decided to meet up on this lovely "getting closer to spring" day. We need to get 555 Sunshine Coast caches for a Challenge cache we collected last weekend. Let's just say I am a looooooooong way off. So we spent Saturday afternoon and way into the night collecting caches and so early the next morning that I am wondering why we bothered to go to sleep
This cache was one of the early morning ones. Our second day saw us on our way at 6am to meet Willis007 at 730 (which ended up being at 830) to ride around Ewan Dam.
Another one with the needed clue.

Photo is not a spoiler - it was taken about 30m from GZ. Having fun on my way back to the car running around cache hunting. TFTC
Out on a cycling Geocaching adventure with fellow cacher Seizer. A great day out but beware of the mozzies!!! TFTC
Out and about with Karicka and Mr & Mrs Domsky completing K's 11th D/T grid.
No problems signing this one.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here jasenjanine. Enjoyed the hunt.

Out for a great day of geocaching north of Brisbane with E_Smiley and Karicka. We targeted to this area as we were on our way to a particular geocache which would mean that Karicka would complete his 11th loop.
At GZ it was a quick find in a very beautiful area. It was lots of fun to be out as a group of four today enjoying the company and a bit of geocaching together.
Thanks jasenjanine

We came up on this cache late on a Monday afternoon thinking that there would be no one about and we were most right, except for the mountain bike riders that fly though the park. Don’t worry we just looked like weird insta bloggers.

Tftc. I did a swap for a magnet for my golden and shiny oshy. The magnet will remind me and my family of our search of caches.
Our favourite pastime is having a nice walk in the countryside. We weren't sure what we would find here as there was a tremendous storm last night but it didn't stop us coming to look for the caches around Ewen Maddock Dam. The area was very wet, with puddles across the path and also fast streams in places. There were also a couple of trees that had fallen across the path so it was a case of climbing over them or finding a way round. We walked for over 5 miles and still didn't find them all, so we will be back.
This was another quick, easy find. TFTC

A rather enjoyable walk in this part of the trail. Unfortunately the water level is so low the paperbarks are keeling over. Fortunately the water level is so low there were no mozzies . Collected the clue for Ewan maddock. TFTC we are having fun discovering all around the dam
A couple of medically-induced days indoors out of the wind and dust, so I was keen to ramp up a few kliks on the MTB My original plan to do the E.W.D. circuit was deferred but I came prepared to mud(dle) thru as many caches as poss As I pedalled down the main track the puddles got deeper and wider. At some point the track was impassable and so I veered onto the single trail to get uphill a bit. Any delusional thinking on my part about both the bike and me staying clean and dry went west Keeping up the momentum seemed to help with getting thru the thick mud and doable puddles and culverts. Sticking to the edge of the track and ducking branches also helped On the way back down the main track the water had dispersed and it was a comfortable pedal. Stopped to take a couple of pics from the dam wall I was praying for a cloudburst or three on the drive home, to rinse off the bike. Yup, the rains came in abundance but much of the sticky mud stayed put So hot shower and feet up with a after a muddy adventure along the lake trails. Bet it’s a spectacular trail on a dry day
Ducking in and out of side tracks sure does ramp up the kliks and, er, the mud factor The last time I was coated in this much mud I had to pay a day spa for the privilege.
TFTC Jasenjanine Hope you’re getting some rain over there. Looking forward to a trip west in a couple of months.

Another quick find in the series on empty trails today. Strange considering it was saturday and the weather was fantastic.
Clue noted and off i zoomed.
Thanks jasenjanine for another ewan cache!

Arriving last on the scene as usual the boys had discovered the cache while I was still dismounting. So much easier to find a cache when it’s in a cacher’s hand. TFTC
Ruzzelz and nikid1 thought I was stopping to avoid the mud but I was actually stopping because we had arrived at the cache. As usual, I had overshot it but a short walk back and we soon had it in hand. Thanks for the cache
The last day of autumn dawned with a crisp but clear morning, a great time to go ride some of the trails and clear up the unfound caches on the western side of Ewen Maddock dam, starting from the southern end and working north.
It's a great time of year to ride, with cooler weather keeping the heat bearable. The tracks were in great shape with only a little mud that was easily avoided. Plenty of other track users were passed along the way, either hiking, jogging, cycling or horse-riding. All of the caches were found, most quickly with a couple requiring a decent search before being located.
---
Log signed at 11:31 and cache returned as found. Thanks for the smilie **jasenjanine**. This log is trackable.

This was my 8th of 12 finds for the morning. I ducked across to this one after returning down the hill from the car park cache to the north. This is my second clue in this series that I've collected today, so I'm hoping all the caches are still in play so I can get a chance to use the info! All good here with the container and log; everything in great shape. Thanks, jasenjanine.
My muggle friend and I found this cache quickly thanks to the clue and I also collected the clue . Thanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
Another great cache along these tracks. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here today.
Before attacking the cache we had to make a detour back to the Banksias to get the clue there because we forgot about it on our last trip. Thankfully the path was flat although muddy in a few places. The highlight was a young puppy out on the trail which melted my daughters heart but when it completely brushed her it made a mortal enemy.
At GZ my daughter led the charge in and quickly spotted the cache but left it for me to grab and get dirty. I made sure I took down the clue this time after learning from my last mistake.
On the way out my daughter posed for some limbo photos on the mossy log and slipped over and fell flat on her bum. As a concerned parent you would think I would rush in to check if she was alright but I was too preoccupied trying to determine if I’d caught the fall on camera. tftc

walking around Ewan today trying to mark of a few more smilies, this our second of this series TFTC
We are just about to finish in this area and head on back to the car, but first of all we don’t want to keep a couple of strays left over here. This area seems to be the sloshiest of all and a couple of times there were nearly bums hitting the mud but we manged to surf along miraculously and save the day.
We had a lovely horse manure smell travelling through here from the local horse farm, only adds to the ambience! After making the find here one of us decided to have a play in the puddle, seriously you couldn’t find a bigger one…

Friday. Whilst Mr SP was out playing golf in the heat, Mrs SP headed north to Ewen Maddock Dam. In the heat...
This was my last cache find in this little patch of Ewen that was made today. Other caches I will have to drive to another location to collect. A good quick find as initially my arrow pointed to one side of the path, but after a very quick look, realised that the likely spot was really ‘over there’. Log book signed and replaced. Great solid cache container which ensured the log book was nice and dry and in good condition. Great pathways around here. It is fantastic that so much effort has been put into placing great paths. If only all dams were like this! And coupled with lots of hiding spots, this is a great area. I love the bushland and discovering little pathways which didn’t show up on the trail listing Relevant info needed for puzzle cache was gathered and noted.
This was the 5th of 6 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***jasenjanine***, for showing us this place.

#14261. Last of 10 finds for my morning expedition (to get me up to 20 finds for June 17). The first five were north of the lake, on better tracks. The remaining five were in this area, where the tracks were muddier. I enjoyed exploring both areas. TFTC.
We had planned to get some more smilies in this area ... And on Easter Monday not too many muggles around.
We kept on walking ... And mozzies weren't too bad (partly thanks to repellent). And collecting the missing clues for the Ewen Maddock Mystery.

Had fun with a bit of bush bashing from our last find.. Had to cross the water via a log or two. Fun. TFTC
Dora the Explorer and I had set a target today to gather the caches around Ewen Maddock Dam and it was decided that the best way to do it was by push bike. Some of the caches had already been found by Dora the Explorer and some had been found by me and some caches had been found by neither of us.
We succeeded in making it around the dam gathering all the caches bar three when light had failed us. The distances are deceiving as they are measured in a straight line. Some over water which we were not too keen to attempt on cycles. The next challenge was to determine which track to take when there are choices of many.
This cache had been previously found by Dora the Explorer so she allowed me to search for it whilst she waited on the bike.
The cache was found easily enough, the log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

Bush bashed from another cache nearby and walked over a log on water. My gps directed me the wrong way at first.
Out with Wombles & co and MRsJAT and this was out 14th cache for the day. Now I know why its called paperbarks on ewen lol they are everywhere lol. Wombles was looking around and then took a phone call then I found and was in the middle of signing when she points out a massive big spider.OMG!!!!!! Wombles flicked it away and I continued on signing TFTC
We didn't get all of the series today so we will be back!
I took a phone call just as Rhobocacher picked up the cache. While she was signing the logbook I pointed out a huge spider that was ON the cache! yikes!
I persuaded him to take a walk and then she replaced the cache.

Continuing along the tracks, Zooy and I just spoke about the world and everything between. It's amazing what a good chat between friends and Mother Nature can do for the soul. As in isolation, Mother Nature keeps all of your secrets and listens without judgment.
We were soon at ground zero and after scanning the area we soon had a place to look. And, with a reluctant reach, we soon found what we were looking for
Well, it has been a long time since ZooDes got together and headed out on an adventure. We had to get the team back together and we decided that we would get out and hit up Ewen. It is surprising, as this is really the only place on the Coast that we can cache together and actually have caches that neither of us have found.
Thanks for the cache jasenjanine. All is in good order here too.

Booyah Found it!
Met up with MinkosDes today to do some long overdue caching. We weren't going home until we found 100% of our finds and luckily we found all that we had set out for!
Another good find by MinkosDes. This one he was a little nervous about what might happen to his hand whilst retrieving the cache.
Clues taken for the series.

I was staying up at Maleny for the weekend as a result of attending a wedding on my wife's side of the family. As part of the arrangements, I negotiated compensation, for having to suffer through the various events, in the form of a day of caching. The wife and daughter would travel up with her sister and I was free to roam the countryside on the way to Maleny, gathering caches at my leisure.
The stroll around Ewen Maddock Dam was my main mission for the day, so after gathering some other caches on the drive up, it was time to grab the walking pole and hit the tracks. While I had run into plenty of cyclists on another part of the trails, over this side I had the tracks all to myself as I made my way around the twisting maze of trails. Cache found safe and well. Out at night grabbing a few caches in the area. Great spot for a cache. Thanks.
Walked round from Blackbutts. Got lead astray several times but got there in the end. Looking forward to completing this multi. Really enjoying the scenery and challenges Ewen Maddock is providing for us. TFTC!
Ewen Maddock Dam Adventure cache #4 of 9.
Grandma and Pa are visiting from Victoria at the moment. Pa has just bought himself a kayak and geohubby wanted to go for a paddle. I also needed a 'U' cache for the July Challenge. So where did we need to go - Ewen Maddock Dam of course! Pa and geohubby dropped Grandma, Billy the geopooch and I off at Kowald Rd at the bottom of the dam because we had decided to walk the 5+ km around to Maddock Park (not a bad effort for Grandma seeing as she is 75). What a shame we were going to walk past several caches on the way! LOL!
I was quite excited about finding this cache as it was my first one in the jasenjanine series and we hadn't got lost coming from Which Way to the Dam. It's in a lovely spot and we found the cache and clue without any problems (except I have a terrible feeling I've written down the clue wrong, yikes!). We're hoping to get a couple more caches from the series today, then come back and finish off the ones we've missed another time. Thanks for going to all the trouble of putting these out jasenjanine - we're having a lovely morning

Find #476: Paperbarks on Ewen on the 30 June 2015
Today's caching adventure was a little bit unplaned. My non geocaching friends called to see if I wanted to come out. I have slowly been convincing them to try out caching so seeing the opportunity told them I was on my way. An hour later and we were on the Ewen Maddock trail. What a perfect day for it. Needless to say they loved it and are now adequately hooked!
Another one down!!
Thanks for the cache jasenjanine! All good here.

Was a beautiful walk through the bush after the drive to get their off fords rd the dirt track was abit harsh on the car but we did it
This turned out to be the last stop for the day, I parked at the suggested spot and wandered around the circuit. Taking a bit of a look at the area.
Soon I was in a spot close by to GZ and I took a look at the options and was soon in a good position to make the grab. I got my name added to the log book and was soon heading back to the car.
TFTC
Seems I missed grabbing another one not far off the path I took, as I did not have my search settings well placed and it did not show up. Anyway next time.

After doing a few caches on the other side of the dam I decided to grab a couple more caches before heading home. As I headed to this cache I thought to myself these would be so much easier to grab if I was on one of those horses lol
I quickly grabbed the clue and signed the log.. Thanks jasenjanine for bringing me here!!
Oh and thanks to the 2 mountain bike riders for scaring the beegeesus out of me.. Lol

Another entryway into the dam, that I hadn't realised existed. This was our first of, hopefully many to try and clear this area of caches today.
We wandered down to GZ and were looking a little way off when a group of people started heading toward us, I called the boy back towards me, when I noticed that in fact they were looking a little like they were looking for something too - GPS in hand.
Quick introductions were made - Nice to meet you Dick from Dickbev ) we worked out where we thought it would be and the boy bounced into action and retrieved the log for us all to sign.
