Parked in the nearby parking area and then walked along the path to GZ. Neat protected hide. Cache and log are good. TFTC Blatherskite and Eureka Gold.
Merging my accounts. Found this as Hoterini 29/12/12. Now tracking together with Ambers007 and merging the old finds.
Spent the weekend around mansfield and did a heap of caching on the way home to the south and getting to mansfield.Perfect weather for the weekend too.Saw lots of great things and found some really cool caches. This series along the railtrail was a great idea for some car stops & short walks for us.TFTC
Today was sir_spectre and my last day on our trip to the East, visiting NSW, ACT and Victoria. We have been away for 12 days so I was ready to head for home. But of course, you must find just a few more. Thanks
This is a new vic LGA for me. Just grabbing a few finds. On route the the return from the webcam. quick find. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
Thought wed go for a short walk along the trail to grab a couple of caches before heading home. Thank goodness for the loo!TFTC
We are visiting the area from South Gippsland for a few days of caching and exploring. Found quickly and all in good order. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC
On a trip to Whitfield with CindyAus22 and this was a nice stop with safe parking, unlike some of the other ones which were really designed as a bike ride find. Yep, we know it's a bike trail but thought we might get a few by car on the way!
Found this afternoon with Mrs deshut, we are enjoying these caches, this end of the trail is busier with bike riders. Nice to sit for a while and listen to the kookaburras. Many thanks for the cache.
Well, time for a sit and rest. But found the cache with tupiasmum while we are discovering the area around Mansfield and Bonnie Doon. Off for Tucker and a cuppa. Thankyou.
After spending a few days exploring the mountain ranges north of Mansfield it was time to get back home. With the current "find 100 caches in 1 month" souvenir challenge it was also time to start ramping up the caching finds! Heading south from the Edi Cutting campground I slowly made my way back to Melbourne on a gloriously sunny autumn day.
I thought I'd do a few of these after driving past Mansfield but soon realised this was going to be need a bike to do the bulk of the series. I had time for just this one - need to conserve my energy for a walk up the Paps!
Thanks, Blatherskite and Eureka Gold.

#3510 Third of nine physical finds on a day travelling from Mansfield to Melbourne. Found after a short search. TFTC
We had found these caches years ago with our geo-nan before we were even cachers, so finding this was pretty easy! We love the caches along this rail trail, they're hidden so cleverly. Cheers Blatherkite
Lots of trees down next to trail from the strong winds the last few days. Love the walking tftc
Find #900 .
Great walk down the rail trail .
Log is great health i left a keyring took nothing. Thank you the placement of the rail trail.

Just 3 more to go before I can rest at Mansfield tonight. I do like these seated hides and they stand up well to almost 12 years out here in the harsh conditions.
Many thanks Blatherskite...and Eureka Gold

3rd cache for the day had a lovely big huntsman spider. Cache and log in good order tftc.
Enroute to the High Country this side of the ranges from home base with some time to spare before gaining altitude. Its been some decades so I'm palpably excited to get that pack opn muy back for 5 days with good weather forcast. Hopefully I get to ride this trail sometime. TFTC and the FUN!
What a beautiful section of the trail amongst the gum trees. Great hide although not the best for someone about to have a knee replacement. And I got chased by an angry baby huntsman that I disturbed. Had to be careful of Muggles as there was a fun ride beginning and ending in Mansfield that day. TFTC.
With the sun out there were many cyclists taking advantage of the weekend weather. The familiar hide was spotted quickly. Now to take advantage of the nearby facilities.
Thanks Blatherskite for the placement.

Stopped to have lunch while going to find another geocach and decided to see if there were any others around and boom!!! 100m down the track we found this one that we weren’t even looking for. Someone needs to give the toilet a good clean though.
Found at 12:32 pm.
With the rumour of a potentially new LGA challenge coming out I had only found 1 whole cache in this LGA zone so today we went for a drive to rectify that problem and mainly spent time parking near the rail trail and finding the rail trail caches like this one. We finished the area with a nice 4WD adventure into that big hill just sitting there.
They went to quite a lot of trouble to build that nearby toilet didn't they. With the ramp and all? Is it that necessary?
Thanks Blatherskite for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Mansfield LGA was the target for Spiffy- and I. This one was quickly found.
Thanks to Blatherskite and Eureka Gold for the placement and fun.

Nice stroll along the rail trail to this gz, we really enjoy this area and it’s always such a good opportunity to get out of the car and walk. TFTC
Easy to find and its in good condition. Thanks Blatherskite and Eureka Gold for bringing me here.
Found the cache being guarded by creepy crawlies. Claire wasn’t keen on touching it but committee to the game
Getting tired now and the coaches are keeping us going on the last leg into Mansfield. Tftc
A long weekend road trip to Mansfield and almost left without finding a geocache. A quick stop along the road to grab one of the rail trail series helped solve that. A rare family find at gz, thanks for the hide.
Catnap777 & OZREG formed a team on 10 May 2020.
Logging FOUND Caches as individuals on approximately same dates since 07 July 2019, this

Team OZCAT on the start of the Mansfield to Tallarook rail trail. Thanks to all the cache owners for providing the caches and keeping them in play
In Benalla for a few days and today we are heading out to Mansfield as it is a place I have never visited.
Thanks so much to all the COs who placed and maintain their caches in this area for us to enjoy finding.

Visiting the Benalla area for a few days on a geocaching trip, from Brisbane. Today was a much cooler day than yesterday when temperature was over 40c. Ventured around the countryside, towns and villages looking for caches. Thank you to all CO's for placing them in their locations. Cache found and log signed. TFTC
An overnight stay in Mansfield provided the opportunity to look around and to find a few caches. Enjoyed it! SL TFTC
Parked car. Hopped out and stepped in mud. Walked 100 meters along path. Found cache. Signed log. Replaced cache. Walked 100 meters back along path. Stepped in mud again. Drove off.

First I found my first snake, then the geocache. Uff I'm glad these creatures are so easily spooked. Sorry for waking you up Mr. Snake Brown.
It’s a chilly 7 degrees in Mansfield today so the short walk to GZ really got the blood pumping

Parked at Pikes Road and did short walk to GZ, on this our last day in Mansfield. Getting a bit chilly now so back to resort for a cuppa..
Thanks for bringing us to this walking track even though my back did not allow me to “walk” it in is full length.
TFTC.
Finally got to have a couple of days off so I headed up to Molesworth for a few days of R&R and caching.
After attending the dawn service at Boonie Doon it was time to try and complete this series heading to #1 at Mansfield.
Another one that was a nice walk to after finding a spot to park.
They have down a great job on this trail and I hope it gets the use it deserves.
Thanks Blatherskite and Eureka Gold TFTC.

No cycling for me today
But a short walk along the trail couldn't hurt.
Especially as there was a good spot to take a rest at GZ
Cache found sans spiders [^]

I've more quick find as I was making my way up north. Managed to get the cache before two finely cyclists passed by. Swapped a poker chip for a sting ray, signed the log and went on my way. TFTC!
A day trip geocaching into some of the amazing High Country that I had never been to before [^] Even better was that being higher, it was cooler than the 45 degrees or similar bloody hot temperatures expected in Shepparton [^]
dalerious, Rex and I took off late in the evening after seeing some new caches published only a few kilometers away
We made our first find at about 1am , another at 2am and another at 4am before finally getting to sleep[|)] (at 5am mind you) near Craig's Hut [^] and then got to explore it in the slightly later morning [^] Back finding caches just after 9am we continued on finding caches throughout the day [^] until our last find was made at 23:24 at Euroa on the way home[|)] [^]
All up there was 2 DNF's but 22 caches were found and there was 6 FTFs amongst them which were hidden in some gorgeous countryside [:X][^]
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Found with locus cache late in the day after a fun filled adventure chasing FTF caches in the high country.
We made time under torchlight to nab this cluster of 7 in this trail which we couldn't resist as we made our way home from the mountain.
Cache and log found, signed and returned in good condition. [8)]

Picked this one up on the way back from Mansfield. Quick find as picked one near a side road rather than doing the trail. Large huntsman guarding the container made for a more fun extraction. TFTC
On day 5 of our annual caching blitz holiday and today we have a mission , to see if we can get our 7000 before the new year. #6985 On our circuit around Eildon. Hoping to be able to get to some of the rail trail ones. Managed toilet break and a cache in between pesky cyclist muggles. Also had a too close encounter with resident huntsman, who is no longer with us - reflex action. Tftc
Stopped in a nearby side road while geo wife and geo son walked back along the track to grab this one.
This is the last cache for us today another clever hide of a very busy road.A nice short walk to ground zero on a misty rainy day.We will be back another time to do some more.
Today we rode the Great Victorian Rail Trail from Mansfield to Alexandra which provided the opportunity to seek out 14 geocaches of which I found 11, not being willing to spend more than a few minutes in each search. This cache was a straightforward find, being more or less on the coordinates. Thank you Blatherskite and Eureka Gold for installing and maintaining this cache.
Nice hide, TFTC. Found by Craig and Michelle. Beware of spiders who also enjoy this hide.
This is our fourth trip to the northern island this year. The first three were primarily for family events but with some opportunities to do some caching along the way. The fourth trip is different as caching is our focus. After getting off The Spirit of Tasmania we are heading north to cache at Wangaratta and then Yass before heading into the ACT and Queanbeyan for a week. After that we will travel to Jindabyne for a few days with summiting Mount Kosciuszko being our main target for this part of our trip. Then we will visit Cooma and Tumut before heading back down the track through Wangaratta and Mansfield as we make our way to Alexandra for the MEGA. After the weekend we will continue to make our way south and back onto the Spirit of Tasmania for the “drive” across Bass Strait. We are really looking forward to three weeks of intense caching in great areas and, hopefully, catching up with some geocachers in each of the areas we will visit.
After staying in Mansfield overnight, we headed towards Alexandra this morning. There were a number of caches along the rail trail which were within a short distance from Mansfield. Then there were more at regular intervals along the way to Alexandra. The weather in the morning was quite reasonable but thunderstorms arrived in the afternoon and there was some rain. However it did not deter us from caching. As we got closer to Alexandra we started to meet cachers from other places as we all made the MEGA at Alexandra our destination for the weekend.
Accurate coordinates and familiarity with the type of very good hide (we saw a similar hide earlier this morning) led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Blatherskite and Eureka Gold for the very good hide.
***** We are currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. On 1 September 2017 our average was 86 which seems close to the 100 target. However given that we have found so many GC caches, we have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get our average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that we can strive to attain this challenge. After 408 caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 97.0. We are now entertaining the possibility that we might be able to achieve our gaol before this trip ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****

My wife and I have now finished the Rail trail from Tallarook to Mansfield over at least 3 years (you can't rush these things). We have only used one vehicle so have ridden each section in both directions. We have found nearly all of the caches along the trail. Over the past three days we have ridden from Mansfield to Yarck and finished of with a ride from Yea through the tunnel to Native Dog road. I will log the caches we found from Mansfield to Yarck. Thank you Blatherskite for the caches.
with the river still in flood we continued on holidays so more Caching time.
Now we have wandered from Anglesea to Mt Gambier Adelaide and back to Geelong now to Alexander onto Euroa and beyond we have found many other like minded people so the caching adventure grows stronger.
As we came through this area we met up with Roosterman and joined in with the rebel act to do the caches in this area had a great couple of days doing the tour.
Thanks Blatherskite for putting this cache out for us to find

**# 15501** Found on a perfect summer day with Rebel Acts and honeysucker.
We finished the L.E.G. series and also picked up a few other caches along the way.
Lots of rebellious laughter along the way and not many muggles around.
Thanks for the trail and the cache Blatherskite,
