Well, the time to archive this cache has arrived. To me, this is a historical cache as the two people involved with the creation of this cache (Harold and Onslow Fisherman) have long since passed on and due to the complete disrespect this area gets from visitors and locals alike, there is no point in this cache still existing. RIP Harold and OF. [^]
Come across another cacher while walking up to this cache. Shame none of us found this cache as we searched for some time climbing over everything that didn't contain the cache.
A bit disappointed with the amount of human crap in and around the bushes.

Took about half an hour to locate as GPS all over the place. Still don't get the "signature" clue.
Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

First visit to New Zealand, and what a way to see this beautiful country - a lap of the South Island by motorhome! We started in Christchurch and then drove through the hills of the Southern Alps to the west coast, explored the glaciers and Milford Sound area, and have now started heading back to our start point via Queenstown.
Just like Harold did we often go fishing. But only for Tupperware or Sistema . After spending the night near GZ it was a quick walk to the cache. It was still early and misty, and so took about 10 minutes to locate.
Thanks for keeping it going for a while, Sonya and Deane.

We stopped here for our lunch, well crisps and a drink of water and had a small walk to stretch our legs, some muggles had pitched a tent close to the footpath so we had a little detour but got there in the end. Super location!! TFTC
Quickly found this cache close to our campsite for the night. What a beautiful view from this spot (see picture).

Found this one together with ReCached just as the sun went down and with a few French guys sitting nearby. TFTC Onslow Fisherman!

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Sonya and Deanefor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

After 6 days, I'm beginning to feel quite comfortable in New Zealand. There is so much to remind me of home - mountains, glaciers, and the seashore. It's getting close to the end of a three month adventure, mostly away from home. micaparamedic arrived at my place in Washington State toward the end of July and we immediately headed down to Oregon to find some old caches for his Jasmer challenge. From there we headed up north to The Yukon and Northwest Territories in Canada for a few weeks.
We attended the mega APE event in Washington, and the same day headed down to camp on a farm in Oregon where we were directly in the path of a total solar eclipse. Back at my place, we took a few day trips before heading to Australia where we spend almost a month doing many things on my bucket list including walking around Uluru and seeing the Sydney Harbour. Now we're spending a few weeks in New Zealand before once again going our separate ways. What a trip!
This afternoon we explored the hills around Bendigo and then stopped for this one on our way back to our lodgings in Queenstown.
Thanks for the visit to an interesting location.

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this note tonight, the original cache owner passed away last week and has now joined 'Harold' in the big fishing spot in the sky. Jim (Onslow Fisherman) created this cache for Harold Gloag who passed away in 2012 and when Jim shifted out of the area in 2014, he transferred the ownership of this cache (and others) to me. Both Jim and Harold were very dear friends who are and will be greatly missed. RIP Onslow Fisherman.
Walked around all over the hill... felt a bit silly after finding it. Should've just followed the GPS. .. Tftc. Beautiful views!
Nice easy find. Lots of campers around but fortunately this was out of site from muggles
I was down in Invercargill for a few days, grabbing a few caches on my way to Omarama for the night. Easy find. Thanks for the cache.

Neat stop to stop and get the kids out of the car on our long journey home from Queenstown to Christchurch.
An Easter weekend trip to Queenstown picking up a few caches on the way. Chelzea and I had her brother muggle with us so not as intense cache gather as previous weekends but managed a good number. Thanks to all the CO's for all the placements with some cool locations and placements. Sorry for the Cut and paste logs but will note anything special on the cache page.
4 freedom campers to navigate round to get to this cache. Walked past them and it then came back via the rocks to be less obvious
Wow, place smells like piss. Lots a campers about. No wonder there is an anti freedom camping movement at the moment. Some tents even look abandoned. Tftc
Found after a sucessful fishing trip. This area should be beautiful but is quite disgusting with all the toilet paper around! There is a real toilet they can use! Thanks for the cache, but not for placing it here.
First for today. Have a curcuit of caches logged in and a sunny afternoon to do it in. Fairly quiet in the camp area today but lake looks very inviting. Cheers.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Lithuania! It was easier than I expected. Unfortunately, the area often is used as a toilet, so in hot summer day it really stinks. Happy hunting )
Found it while driving from Queenstown to Tekapo.
Very nice view!

November in Europe, the dark month, neighter autumn nor winter: short days, rain, fog. Everywhere unlucky people.
But now we are in NZ. Early sunrise, mighty green and flowers everywhere. Happy cows and sheeps also. We delight look forward to such lovely challenge. Thank you NZ. Greetings from Germany, from the mountains of Harz. TFTC

I found this whilst staying at the DOC site on a beautiful evening. After a bit of scrambling around on the rocks (unnecessarily) I found the cache. You're well tucked away from prying muggles here. I walked the mount track opposite the next day, tough climb but worth the views from the top
During our vacation in New Zealand I passed here and we have a picknick, then I searched and found the cache easy.

A quiet rest stop even with a few others settled in. Weren't that sure we wouldn't come across some more secreted at GZ's little nook. Fortunately not. TFTC Sonya and Deane.
I am thinking of making a series of caches in DK using the same cache containers as I've seen here in NZ-. this one is quite a signature, yes

Came here to do with the brother in law many years ago before I got the bug. Now done again and log book signed. On way back from mega 2015
Found this a bit tricky and climbed all over the rocks. First I found a Time Capsule placed by someone from Japan. I couldn't read the note inside. It was all Japanese to me! (Except the bit that said Time Capsule).
A bit more searching and I found it.
