Finally found it!
I have been living next to the park for a couple years and today I finally found all three caches.
I wasn't expecting the wp1 to be so small, nano, literally. I wasn't looking closely enough and after reading through the logs I went there again and checked every corner very carefully, and voila!

wp2 also took me a while, I almost overlooked it. Well hidden.

GZ was relatively quick, except a passing by dog kept barking at me which is a bit awkward. Anyways, a good find and really enjoyed it.

26-Jul-18
We couldn't even find Wp1... after a long search on where the hint suggested, we left empty handed Sad

22-Jun-18
Not my luckiest day, after being muggled out twice in the city decided to burn some time at this cache. Wp1 seemed to take me to a fairly obvious structure and despite the constant flow of cars I was able to have a good look. That said the darkness prevented me from being able to inspect every nook so walked away empty handed.

Thanks for taking me to this park... Will be back!

Great cache. Thanks so much for placing and maintaining!

Great multi taking geodog Zelda and me for a pleasant stroll around Pratten Park. No prattling on for me. But had some trouble with WP1 & 2, before I got the info in the end. At GZ I saw it immediately. We're both dog tired now. TFTC

27-Dec-17
Nice multi cache. I was with my son F13RCE to complete this cache with the hints being very helpful.

26-Dec-17
TFTC,
DNFed it a while ago, but when we came again today, it was extremely quick and easy. (Stage 2 cache was lying in the dirt, replaced it in the nearest hiding place)

26-Nov-17
We were in the area and ziggiau says that some help was needed with this cache. So our team scurried around GZ only to come up empty handed. I read the logs for some more clues and on the second attempt, we had the CIH. A nice walk through the park and all other info was collected. Enjoyed the final area.

26-Nov-17
Came to help ziggiau find all the WPs of this one.

26-Nov-17
Had a walk in the park with Team MADZ today.

26-Nov-17
This find has been a looooong time coming. I've been here several times, probably once in each of my caching years, and each time failed to find WP. This time I brought Team MADZ with me to see if extra sets of eyes would help. I wasn't feeling well today so after we all scoured the area looking at all the reasonable spots it could be in, we retired to the playground so aubeasty could read through past logs and I could msg a PAF. Now with a head full of logs, I walked right up to the spot and grabbed that little bugger (didn't need the PAF in the end)! Finally. What a relief. And yes, the hint does help. I knew the rest would just fall into place so we all took a leisurely stroll around the park with only one muggle on a nearby park bench. Next WP found, we considered what this ground would have been like in its heyday when playing and watching sport was the social outing for the week. Arriving at the GZ it was a super quick find and everything is in order here. A nice addition to this immaculately maintained park. Thanks for brining us here kuwjones, and for having one of the few caches in the former Ashfield LGA.

Find 3 of 3 while out caching in the Ausbury area this morning.

Having collected the info at WP1 on a previous visit, it was straight to WP2 today. With only a couple of options for a hide type, it was a matter of methodically checking through the locations and soon the sneaky cache was found. Now with the final coords it was a short stroll to GZ which was a surprising little location with much to admire. After some searching the good size cache was spotted. What a perfect location to finish this multi!! Signed the log and dropped a TB. Now off to the playground for another play for geogirl.

Thanks for another excellent multi kuwtjones. This is everything that makes multis great.... sneaky WP hides that take you on a tour of the park and thoughtful GZ location. Definitely deserves a fav point.

Find # 196

It’s cricket season and I was scoring a match here, so finding this cache was a priority. I was deceived by the first waypoint as an interesting object seemed to have possibilities, but I could not retrieve it. Once I found the real cache, the rest was straightforward. A nice ground with an interesting past. TFTC.

06-Oct-17
A fun multi which took us on a tour of the entire park, there were a few muggles enjoying the sun and a guy mowing the grass on the oval but nobody at each waypoint to stop us from progressing.

WP1 took a while to find until I decided to check the hint, well hidden!
WP2 coords seemed off a bit but was quickly found in obvious location
Final cache was a really safe and smart hide for such a busy area. It is hidden from view and unlikely to go missing but also a decent sized cache which is always nice.

TFTC, a solid multi! Very Happy

14/5/17 Found with morry9. An early morning expedition to pick up some caches down south. I needed to be in Ashbury by midday for my footy match but had enough time to squeeze in a few, and morry9 was keen on joining me. I am trying to target more Multi Caches and Mystery Caches to get my numbers up in those types, and the area, while being quite sparse in caches, had a number of unfound multi’s.

First it was onto the ‘Prattling On’ Multi Cache at Pratten Park in Ashfield. There was a soccer game playing on the oval and a group of elderly exercises using the grassy patch near the posted co-ordinates. We found the clue at Waypoint easily, without drawing any attention to us, and Waypoint 2 proved to be just as straightforward. We moved to the final Waypoint and, after a short search, we soon had the Cache In Hand. Thanks For The Multi Cache kuwtjones.

The second one for the day was the ‘… and World Peace’ Multi Cache in Peace Park, in Ashbury. We collected the answer and performed the required calculations to lead us to Ground Zero. It took quite a bit of searching and a Text A Friend to make sure we were looking in the right area, before we made the discovery. A tricky hide and not easy to access, but a great vista from the top. Thanks For The Multi Cache Zalgariath.

Next on the radar was the ‘At the Cross’ Multi Cache in Croydon Park. I initially drove past the sign at the published co-ordinates because the car parked next to it was blocking my view. Hard to imagine Canterbury House once stood where the unattractive townhouses now stand. It is a shame they demolished it. We collected the answers and calculated the final location for the cache. The location was bustling with activity (it makes sense when you think about it) but, with a bit of stealthy searching, we were able to nab it without any trouble. Thanks For The Multi Cache kuwtjones.

I still had time up my sleeve, so we thought we would do ‘Ready, set, GO.’ in Ashbury, while we were at it. We were naughty and snuck in to the car park of the bowling club next door, which had a sign saying parking was only for those playing lawn bowls (but we were early enough that the place was deserted, and we hoped we would not be too long). A few minutes of searching around, stopping for the occasional muggle walking past, allowed us to turn up the sneaky hide. Thanks For The Cache rinsemesocks.

At this point, I had to get to footy at Picken Park, so morry9 left and we went our separate ways. A couple of hours later, I stopped in at Airey Park in Homebush for the ‘Catch the Travel Bug’ Event Cache. What a great idea for an event and it was fun catching up with everyone. Thanks For The Event Cache skyebomonkeytown.

Such a fun little multi in a park l never knew was in Ashfield. I found WP1, however l had a lot of trouble opening it to reveal the coords of WP2. At WP2 I almost dismissed what l found but luckily l didn't! Spotted GZ very quickly, the hint helped a lot the Tb was still there, I decided to leave it for someone else to collect. TFTC

### TFTC ###

**Needing a cache for the day to keep my streak alive, I looked at this one as I had some time for a good multi. WP1, was quick thanks to the hint, then I saw a good game of Cricket was being played, watching the cricket was great, and seeing two batsmen both get their centuries in a couple of overs was great. WP2, had me 10mtr off, but using geosenses got me the little guy. GZ, was being overlooked by muggles, so after waiting them out, I went in for the find. Great little multi in a nice park. Cheers**

Finally we'be found this cache.
So many times we've said, 'let's get Prattling On' but we live in Western Sydney and are usually heading home after a full day of seeing family and are too tired for multi's with the kids. This was a great multi where each stage just worked. Thank you so much.

A good find! Got stuck for a bit on WP1 (managed to get rust on my hands!) but otherwise a smooth search, had to rush a little when the gps battery started dying ahaha. Good stuff! TFTC Very Happy

14-Aug-16
Enjoyed this nice little multi to get my souvenir today.

Started with a long check for WP1 and almost gave up. Checked photos for hints but they were of no use.

Finally checked the most obvious spot and had it.

Lots of people but the WP2 find was easy. Everyone focused on the soccer match anyways.

Finally GZ was another easy one with no muggles in that region.

Great little multi. Thanks for the cache!

13-Aug-16
Nice clue, nice relaxing multi-cache!

13-Aug-16
Had some business in Ashfield Mall and since it was one of those August weekends where you get a caching souvenir, decided to come around to do this one, too.

Walked up to the starting point. Some muggles in the playground and walking past but once I got the coords confirmed, they were pretty harmless. Smile

Got the WP2 data sorted. As I left the scene, four 10-year old (or so) rocked up with one asking others "do you wanna see a geocache?" Surprised
They checked it out and went their ways without following me to the WP2...

A new set of data found in a logical location and the final was in a place I had hoped it to be in. [^]

A short stroll later I angled the best approach, spotted the corner of the container and got the formalities done.

All good here. TFTC, kuwtjones!

We are first timers, well I am a first timer and my kids have done 2. We did not find the first container, checked very thoroughly I think.

01-May-16
WP1 was a breeze, but it was getting quite dark as I walked over to WP2 and it became quite a challenge indeed. On a couple of occasions I decided to give up on it, only to chang emy mind and go back for one last effort. After about half an hour I evenutally discovered what I had missed for so long and made my way over for the final, which turned out to be a fairly quick find under the flashlight of my phone. Well what an ordeal. Found WP1 loaded coords and blindly heading off, not sure why it would be 1klm away. Might be a dister oval?? Nit to be 800mtr in i realised i had not cleared previous gz coords. Reloaded and back to the correct WP2. Remaining Wp found and signed thd log. I guess it is not all about the find its about the journey. Tftf left left

A soccer game was in swing when Felix the Spy and I arrived, but it was pretty low key. We got distracted by a loose bolt at WP1, as from the correct angle it looked just like a certain kind of micro container. Eventually we shifted our focus a little and made the first find. The coordinates slip was in two pieces but still completely legible.

WP2 was found while a little muggle argument about off-leash dogs took place, quite amusingly, nearby. The laminated slip in the container was a little hard to extract, but soon we were on our way to the final, where the owner of the psycho on-leash dog from the previous argument asked us if we were looking for treasure and then told us that there wasn't any there, "nor any slaters either!" Que??!!

A quick find was made, nevertheless, and we were soon off to "...And World Peace". Thanks, kuwtjones!

10-May-15
I obviously picked the wrong time to visit as the soccer game meant there were lots of muggles coming and going. Will have to return for another try later.

10-Apr-15
Got it! Have been thinking about this local one for a while, but the dnf put me off. Was walking past today and made the first grab without too much fuss. Had to navigate some tai chi enthusiasts for wp2 and sporting children for gz, but got it! Thanks

#1498 (1 of 3 today)

Well, I have had my eye on Traffic Control No: 2 - MARK II (GC7C01) since it landed back in Sydney a few days ago. Hmmm, still no logs. Is it still there? I'm hoping so, because having grabbed ]Traffic Control No: 1 (GC ) as my 900th cache it would be nice to mark another milestone with the second in the series.
But first I need to grab two more caches, so set out early today to grab them.
Wife had grabbed The Hademobile so I hopped in the Family Chariot.
* * * END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION * * *
Arrived here and made a complete hash of the first waypoint. Spotted every possible location a cache could be concealed - except the one it was in.
All up it took 10 minutes to find what should have been a park & grab. Took away to complete signing duties and managed to break the info for waypoint 2 when putting it back in its camo. It's still all there, just be careful when extracting or you could find yourself a few digits short.

The second waypoint was spotted as I approached. Easy find, even given one council muggle cutting the field and two engrossed in eachother 40 metres away... And so GZ is...

At GZ I almost had the area to myself, but a mother muggle emerged from the tennis precinct as I approached & I had to wait for her to pack her child into their 4WD and leave.
Then it was a quick find.

Completed signing duties and replaced. Now to target one more cache before heading to Homebush...

A well laid out cache in a nice park. And familiar as I have been past on many occasions when younger - travelling to and from school.

Being a Wests Tigers Fan who comes from the Western Suburbs Magpies side of the joint venture as opposed to the Balmain side, Pratten Park holds a special place for me. I'm too young to have ever been here to see a game played but it was the home of the Western Suburbs Magpies up until around 1966 before they moved out to Leichardt Oval.

My old man grew up in the area and tells stories of walking to games to watch the magpies play. He is quite a proud father knowing that his children have done the right thing and supported the Magpies and now Wests Tigers. He's told me stories of Pratten Park and even mentioning a game he actually played there when he was a junior.

2005 was a great year for the Wests Tigers. We won the premiership!! At that stage I didn't get the opportunity to go to many games. As I was growing up I had my own sport to go to but would manage to get to a Magpies game in the holidays each year as I grew up. Wests Magpies struggled for form and because of that I only ever managed to go to one finals football game growing up (they only made it to one finals series and were knocked out in that game). So when 2005 came along and I had been able to go to a few games throughout the year as I was older, and I had also managed to go to a semi final game, there was no way my old man and I were going to miss out going to the GF!! We slept out for tickets in the cold and wet and managed to secure some tickets for the game!

Game day came around and I was of course very excited. We live on the Central Coast so we left early, very early in fact. Dad had some trips planned along the way but hadn't told me about it. We took the long way to Olympic Park by detouring through some important places to the Wests Tigers. We drove past Ashfield Leagues Club (supporter of the Western Suburbs Magpies and now Wests Tigers), then he introduced me to Pratten Park for the first time. We got out and had a look around, going through the old turn styles and onto the field where he shared stories of balls being kicked over fences, playing footy on the hill, the old scoreboard etc etc. It was a pretty special moment, surpassed only by the winning feeling we had when the final siren went off at the GF and we were 2005 Premiers!! On the trip home we did the Balmain section of the trip and drove through the main streets, stuck in traffic due to the celebrations of everyone in their cars!

Today my old man and I, who are now both Wests Tigers members, travel down from the Central Coast to go to all Sydney games. There was a members meeting at Ashfield Leagues today so I had a quick check of geocaches nearby. When I mentioned to the old man that there was a cache at Pratten Park I knew he wouldn't be able to resist!

We headed to the field and made quick work of the waypoints in what was a pretty good multi. A fav point will be awarded, mainly because it is Pratten Park, but also because it was a nice easy multi.

TFTC Cheers

Found on a "morning of multi's" with mum and dad Smile Third find of the day (unbeknownst to us at the time, our final too), and probably my favourite out of the ones we found - just the right amount of challenge, and an interesting finishing location. WP2 coords were a bit off for us (possibly due to tree coverage?), but widening the search area soon revealed a cacher-obvious placement. Wish I could discuss the feature at GZ, but I won't due to the possibility of spoilers. All I can say is the plants could do with a good trim to be able to see this feature in its entirety! Razz TFTC, this gets a favourite point from me!

# 2753- My third and probably my favourite multi in the area today. Though very simple, it took me for a little stroll past the girls doing their exercises ( I felt like I should be doing them too) and the guy mowing the cricket pitch. Both WP1 and 2 were easily found and co-ords collected. Upon arrival at GZ, three men were standing eating lunch and chatting- they didn't look like they were in any hurry to move. Luckily the structure hid me to a certain extent, while I made my grab, sign and return. A lovely spot- another I did not know existed. Thanks- a favourite for me.

We found the cache at WP1, but could not open it. It probably requires pliers to open, since the lid probably has been put on damaging the threads.

Hurrah!! It really does hinge on finding that first one. I had come and gone several times on this one without success. Partly just felt conspicuous scouring the gates with so many muggles driving past. I think it just takes geocaching experience and you start to get more intuitive about where to look. This time I walked straight to the gate and put my hand right where the first clue was hidden. Yay! A great hide

Nearly gave up on this one right at WP1. Spent 15 mins looking very sus putting fingers everywhere. Had already searched that spot but figured I’ll give it one last shot and there is it. Satellite view puts it at the corner of the other gate which also added to the confusion. Other 2 WPs were easy enough.

2/04/13. 1:40 PM. Muggled out at GZ, so not strictly a DNF, more a CNA (could not attempt). The park was swarming with council workers today, making the job extra hard. WP1 took longer than it should have, but finally got it. Hide for WP2 seen on approach, so that was extra quick.

At GZ, one of the gardeners was weeding and there was no chance I could get in for a look, so I'm going to have to come back another time, probably better dressed if I have to get prone?

Yebo, first signed in march. Smile at wp1 the cache was well hidden but I pretended to zip my sandals... Wp2 was found under the eyes of two match watchers ( I think western ashfirld was playing) but they just looked over once, fine, the question was magnetic cache or not, I turned around and looked in 360 degrees and spotted the hide. Off to wp3= GZ I was really lucky that the muggles were occupied with themselves , they didn't notice me when I retrieved the cache nor when I signed it.

The cache is damp, I tried to dry it here in the sun as good as possible but the logbook needs maybe some maintenance soon.

So frustrated! Spent a good 15 mins circling where WP1 should be but came up with nothing. Got the clue and I could see what if referred to (though there were about 3 spots it could refer to), according to Google Maps I was standing right on it, but I couldn't find anything. Stuck my fingers in holes in bricks and supports and looked at it from every angle ... Oh well.

Decided to have another crack at this one during a late night stroll with geowife. I've been stumped by this one for months. Turns out I had the right idea with the clue, just poor searching skills (a 'man's look' if you ask the wife!) Anyway, chalking this one up as a win. Thanks for the effort Kuwtjones.

This is a definite favourite. I am down from Canberra while my wife is doing some work. While she was at a meeting in Ashfield, I popped over to do this one. What a beautiful location! Missed wp1 initially, but it was where it was supposed to be. Had a nice stroll to wp2 and then to gz. Enjoyed the art. Enjoyed having to find a container at each point. TFTC.

We wish we could give this one more than just a single Favorite Point!

This is what Geocaches should all be like.

Not a single mint tin was used! Physical well-hidden things to find at each waypoint - all of then well-placed. A reasonable-sized cache container that is well concealed and does not have you lying on your back in the dirt, or foraging through bushes or amongst plants in a garden to retrieve it. All of this is topped off by the emotional scultures. The inscription on one of them will stay with us for a long time.

Thank you so much Kuwtjones for providing us with a memorable caching experience. Highly recomended to those who are yet to try it.

Is WP1 still around? Having a lot of trouble finding it.
