Didnt find after looking on both sides of the trail. No pinecone pile. Reading activity shows its a tough cache with incorrect gps and a few dnfs will come back to find
Spent 15 minutes with my brother, who lives near by, hunting for this one, but alas - an empty nest for us!
No luck here after a 30min search in tough surroundings. Tried all the hint spots again and again but Empty Nest was an empty find for me today.
I have been after this one ever since I started Geocaching and for some reason or other could never find it. Even after armed with an extra hint from the c.o. I always seemed to end up on the wrong side of the tracks so to speak, as the gps just doesn't settle down in this bush area. However determination has finally payed off as today after work, I went in for another search and this time was rewarded with a find. Thanks Zork for your help as I can now finally cross this one off.
Picked up the travel bug. A friend and i were searching the area for a good 20 minutes before we found the exact location of the cache, rather sneaky. TFTC
New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 18, In Auckland Region, Northshore. NZ Mega Auckland Day 3. Caching with Sol de Lune getting to the extra event activities. After a fun morning at the reserve the CITO was held in and an afternoon event tag swapping, we headed towards the evening BBQ event location, stopping at a few caches along the way. Most were picked for being simple drive bys. We found the mechanism, but nothing was attached to it. Thanks.

Nope our hands came up empty here . We even couldnt find the cone pile...Maybe it needs to be checked by the cache owner
We searched for this one for a good 10 to 15 minutes but we came up empty handed, maybe another time..
Took about twenty minutes to get to the bush. Didn't realise there was such a serene place so close to home. Found the cache rather quickly and enjoyed the nice walk.
100% success tonight! Took a while but got there in the end. Dropping off our penguin lady.
After finding the way in to this cache found the nest not empty so took the TB croc for a walk TFTC
Armed with additional info from CO returned to GZ for a quick find. Left 2 trackables. t4tc
we had a good look around and found something that looked like the right place but no cache.
In the area this morning enjoying a "new found' track, and a few caches. Interesting hide, fairly easy as 'goods' rather exposed but re-hidden as not to attract attention ( I hope) Co-ords pretty much spot-on.... TFTC
Took us a while to find the pine cones pile. Understood the name of the cache once we found the cache. Not so empty the nest really. TFTC

We were wondering if the nest was well and truly empty, as we checked the hint items and even remembered where the chirp was previously with no luck, then realised the hint was silghtly misleading and came up with the goods!!
Nice spot.

F for fail. E for evening. D for dark. C for can't find it. B for be back to find you another day. A for anything you jolly well want it to be, 'cos I'm going for dinner.
On a mission today to find the final few caches for the 100/100 challenge. This one took us forever!!!!! Remember having difficulty when it was a chirp as well. Hmm looking for a tree with pine cone pile, not a one in sight. Eventually gave in and PAF and established that pine cones have been muggled. We eventually found the cache. Phew quite hot and bothered now. Gathered up some pine cones to re-instate clue for next finders. Very sneaky hide, just like the last one was!! Anyway at least we got there in the end. SL. TFTC.
Great little walkway. Very peaceful. Like others, should have made find a lot quicker. Pays to think about things for a sec and look around for relevant locations. Instead of checking all the well wrong places for 15 minutes! TFTCHALLENGE
Had time for another go at this one, but realised as I parked that I hadn't updated GPSr with new co-ords. I knew it was about 4m differance, but that still meant it would be in the search area I looked last time. Soon saw the hint which was now bigger than it had been last week, however still couldn't find. Widend search area, no luck, narrowed search area, still no luck. Was ready to give up, but thought I had to be in the right place due to the hint, decided to have one last look - what do you know, I found it. TFTC.
After a FTF nearby, met up with a fellow cacher who helped us find this one we had previously DNF'd. Nice big cache, little cachers enjoyed the toys. TFTC

Hadn't intended to look for this one today, but was enjoying the fresh air and leg stretch so continued along form the other end. Spent a least 30min with no luck, searched all the places that had obviously been searched before, and some that hadn't. I see from Geogeprs's log that I may have been looking for a hint that isn't there anymore, but even so I still poked about where there was no hint. One place where GPSr was close, there are more of the hint scattered about than at other places. Finally had to callof the search and head back to work, had bearly got back on the track & around the corner when a muggle appeared behind me. Enjoyed the walk though.
Searched for about 10mins before my little cacher decided she had had enough. Made a quick PAF to point me in the right direction but still no luck, will be back again(by my self) to have a good look around Cheers Zork.
Been here before when it was a chirp so knew where to look for it. Nice little walk in the bush.
Out: Geocoin.
Cheers for the cache.

Found on a beautiful morning on the north shore the day after election despite GPS failure. Had a chat with the north shore green party MP and he was stoked about the election.TFTC
Sad to hear of the demise of the chirp cache here. Looks like I was the last person to officially find it. This new trad cache took me a lot longer to find than it should have done. GPS was spot on but could I find the cache... Not until I searched a whole lot of places where it wasn't. DOH! TFTC, Biggles.
We made this one a bit harder than we needed to. After a few minutes we retraced our steps and almost immediately spotted the hint item and then the cache. Nice walk, thanks. Decided to walk on to the next cache.

Same trouble as last time. Lots of places to look and me trying to get a GPS lock. Just when Im about to give up.... there it is! I should have realized where it would be!!!! Thanks.
Found the track ok, GPS all over the place so we now know the bush quite well. Got there in the end. TFTC
We needed to find a cache today and as we were in the area we swung past to find this cache. Like others we can recall being on this track for the Chirp cache. Quick find of the new cache container. TFTC.
Replaced the container with a Sistema 2 ltr after damage to the old one on its first visit.
Nice easy find on a beautiful day and a very interesting walkway....we visited after finding 'A Cache Too Far' cache earlier on the same path. Dropped Berries of Straw Travel Bug. TFTC
Whoa! looks like an elephant has been sleeping at GZ. Catch of the box is broken so it doesn't close, though the raincoat keeps it together.

With the hint a quick and easy find. Nice little walk with the dog.
Unfortunately the clip from the container lid is already broken.

Convened for a meeting of the midnight club - well just two of the members anyway, and headed off in search of this cache. Had been here before when attempting the chirp cache, but at that time lack of chirping put a stop to it. This time we obviously headed straight down the path to the cache, which was quickly located once at GZ. Very surprised that after more than 24 hours it was still an FTF! But it was... joint FTF with 10cc . Took the trackables and dropped a couple. TFTC!!!
Late night find with FMZ. Really nice track. Remember being here before looking for chirpy ...TFTC
