Was a quick find but the cache bottle is broken... Needs to be fixed. The lid is broken and the logbook is wet.
Headed south for a road trip with Tuolei, Merlot58 and Supernanny. Quick find here. Logbook is damp and was hard to write on
I was on a road trip with Tuolei, Jag50 and Supernanny with the main purpose of collecting some of the TMGT caches. We decided to stop here and do the earthcache and while water was collected Jag50 and I found the cache. The log is very damp
Called by here to grab some water for the earth cache and nearly forgot to pick this one up while we were here. Mrs B discovered a large Emperor Moth near the river and as she was taking photos and relocating it to a safer place I looked for the next cache. It wasn't to far away as it appears and a short stroll took me to the spot.Cache was full of water and even though it is double bagged the log was soaked. Managed to get it signed on the cover - needs replacing but didn't have anything with us sorry, TFTC.
Quick find on a wet spring day the log was very wet even though it was double bagged. Thank you for the hide.
What a neat hide! Was a bit tricky as it was getting dark but we persevered and it paid off! TFTC great spot too
Campervan stopover here and as it happens a convenient GC to be bagged. TFTC
We have been intending to look for this cache for a while so took a detour today on our way to Paeroa to pick it up.
It was quite early and GZ was very quiet and serene.
After making the find we enjoyed the views over the water.
Thanks Geocacheasaurus rex for bringing us here.

It's been a long day and night, I have been caching for nearly 24 hours and had 4 hours of sleep! By the time I get back home in Auckland, the 24 hours will be up. So this cache also done in the dark, using my cellphone torch isn't too bad a thing to do and I found the cache after a short search. Contents all good here today. I must return here and do the earth cache in the day time.
Cool stop and if you are here try some food at the corner bakery. Container could do with replacing. Not water tight
Heading home to Gisborne on back country roads collecting some smileys. No problem finding the cache but the log was sodden. Dried it out and added a new dry log however I suspect the lid is not watertight. Also watched some kids catching an eel off the jetty. TFTC
The Central North Island, Day 1: Auckland - Coromandel
Today we headed out for our last great adventure in New Zealand, which was to cover The Central North Island, as far down as Ruapehu. We set off from Auckland on an overcast day, and was met with rain for the better part of the morning and afternoon. That still didn’t stop me from caching, as I had been well-prepared with a raincoat and picked up only the easier ones. As the rain cleared up, there was a nice stiff breeze that accompanied me in my hunts along the Thames Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. A relatively good, if somewhat damp day, overall.
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Nice little hide where my Mother discovered some boys catching eels while I caught myself a cache. Interesting installation but the cache is all wet and soggy within. Nice views though, so TFTC!

Container and bag for log book both full of water. Didn't have anything on me to replace them. Did my best to sign.
Great cache
Not sure wether it’s in its original place ( on land ,not by water) may need to be changed, but still got found.
Thanks

Hi there Geocachesaurus rex - we found your cache today on our drive from Matamata to Coromandel. After bruching at the local bakery I turned the 'wrong way' and noticed this cache on the Nuvi and came down to investigate. It was a quick find with the cache being relatively in the open. SL and replaced without moving the anchor . The container and log are in good condition. Thanks to Geocachesaurus rex for this cache - our find #5310.
Was a bit concerned that this one may have been washed away in the recent floods, but no - it was still there although it may have moved from its original position and now a bit exposed. Thanks for bringing me here Geocachesaurus rex
Found in the pouring rain by my youngest whilst my eldest filled the bottles from the river for the earthcache
Thank you for bringing me here, a spot I didn't know existed.
The cache was soon in hand, log signed and replaced as found.

A lovely spot to stop on our way to hotwater beach. We took the opportunity to take a few photos. Thanks for bringing us here
Found a way to avoid some of the roadworks today! Just as well this is well sealed as the river has been very high recently and it's quite muddy. Nice little cache here - TFTC
Atea and myself, daughter and father, found this cache. First in a great adventure!
Stopped off here as it was a good detour around some road construction. Pulled into the park and hopped out to go a looking. Found after a brief search, all was well, signed and returned to its hidey hole. Took a long look across the water way. Nice view from here. No time to stop and ponder too long though, dinner calls. TFTC!
In the area to support friends cycling the HRT. Decided to cache around and stopped here to
Collect a water sample for the nearby earthcache as well as find this cache. Hunted a little at GZ but then the cache appeared! All in good order and well anchored!

First find for HelloBird1e! Out with friends and made this find beside the river. TFTC!
No longer covered in black tape but defintely not empty. No signature on log from previous finder. I was worried that the cache might be in danger from flooding but I don't think it'll be going anywhere anytime soon. TFTC.
We past through this way yesterday on our way through to Thames, but we were on a biking mission so decided to come back this way and find this and start the earth cache nearby. By the time we got here, I was hungry and tired and just wanted to get going. Wandered over to gz and spotted quickly fortunately. Unfortunately muggles abounded and it was tricky trying to retreive, sign and replace without undue attention. Thanks for the cache and placement Geocachesaurus rex.
I haven't been here for years ...do on my way home decided to check out the jetty and do the earth cache and put a smile on this one ....good co ords allowed me to quickly find ...but as I was finishing muggles seemed to come from every where...one minute it's a lonely place next there are people every where...that's life and a bit of patience and the cache was quickly replaced and nobody was any the wiser thank Geocachesarurus Rex great cache
Came here to have a go at the earthcache here - still a bit of work to do on that but nice to get a handy traditional here at the same time. The weather was a bit on the cold side - perhaps that kept everyone at home as we had the place to ourselves. Had a little walk about and then went down to where the cache is and after a quick look for a couple of minutes spotted the container. All good here, and signed the log and put back in position. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
cold and very windy so no one around, a quick find while out caching with butchiebum, took TB, tftc
Very windy and cold here today. some muggles going fishing in this weather hmmmmm! made a quick find.
On our way to Coromandel, we stopped here to rest a bit and learn a bit more thanks to the Earthcache nearby.

All fine finding the cache, however the logbook was sadly wet. Seems the lid has worked it's way lose. I'm sure weith the hot days coming up that it'll be fine (hopefully) for the next person.
TFTC Geocachesaurus rex, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find of 7 today, making this find #1350
EDIT: ahh I see it's disabled now. Feel free to delete the log, my GSAK DB for this area must need a refresh. Will be able to sign again next time I'm going past. Unfortunately I didn't have my normal caching bag or I would have chucked in a few sheets of notepaper in a new bag

Stopped by on our way to Rotorua from Coromandel. Log is too wet for writing...
Found this on the way back from Mahindra Gold Rush Rally of Coromandel on international geocaching day as others have said logbook WET would ever take of the lid !!!!
06/08/16 11:50 This is a cache in serious need of a) a waterproof container and b ) waterproof log paper. Notebook is more h2o than paper... Right on a high tide line... Cheers, GC.
Driving from hamilton to thames today and saw this black dot on my map so thought I'd pull over and have a look. Quick find thanks however as others have said logbook was sopping wet, not surprising after the storm last night. Not able to sign. Also a very muddy walk to gz
Straws2008 and I popped down to grab this cache after a lunch at the cafe. It was pretty wet and muddy at GZ. Luckily I had appropriate footwear on. The cache was wet, so I poured out the water and tried to dry off the log but it was too wet to write on. Tftc.
Had my hoody on as it was a stormy day. I'm sure my sister and I would of looked dodgy to the nearby houses as we snooped in trees. Log was wet. Tftc.
I live in town and always like to check this one. Very wet from the river and rain.
12.55pm. The container was about a third full of water with water inside the plastic bag too. This definitely needs attention.
Thank You. David.
Thank You. David.
Quick find.
Surprisingly the log book is in need of being replaced. It is rather soggy and close to being papier mache.

Out collecting a few caches and water for the nearby earthcache - never been to Turua - so it was a nice trip. Cache was still well attached but as in previous logs the log book is very very wet TFTC
1511 First time off the main road. Log a bit wet but that was not surprising considering container was chained in case of flooding.
My eldest son was less than impressed when I suggested we call in here for yet another stop for a Geocache hunt on our way home from Pauanui having enjoyed a fun long weekend away at the beach. Especially since he wanted to get home to watch the cricket. Of course I also wanted to get the required sample for the adjacent Earthcache. No problems locating the cache. I was surprised to find a damp log considering the container was shut tightly and the plastic bag the log in looked robust. I liked the mechanism to stop it been moved.
While making our way up to the Coromandel Peninsular it was great to be able to stop and stretch the legs and find some caches along the way. Carved my name in yet another cache with a very wet log!
Thanks for the cache Geocachesaurus rex.

Lovely lunch spot, stealth required as lots of muggles nearby. Log was very wet. TFTC
Took us a bit with our newbie cacher leading the way but we managed to find her first cache. Tyftc
The ground was very wet underfoot due to the amount of rain we have experienced lately but the cache was reasonably dry and easily found once I looked in the right spot.
Another great find on a geocaching holiday in the area.
Thanks for setting up this cache.
Nice to get this one found quickly.

We arrived in Turua well after dark so we did not see any reflections - but we did see the cache. Thanks.
Found on our way back to Hamilton having spent the last week of the school holidays having a great time in Whangamata. Great weather and it’s always hard to leave the beach but we figured we should pack up early and head home before the rest of the holiday return traffic hits the road. Our young teens groaned when I suggested the longer route home via Thames and Turua so that I could pick up a few more caches but then agreed on condition that they chose the music for the drive home: a decision I very quickly regretted! By this point, we'd settled on singing along very loudly and very tunelessly to some 80s rock anthems ... 'another bites the dust' seems very appropriate as our cache haul increases
The road was quiet today so this was another easy pullover stop. Too cloudy for reflections today, unfortunately. With a good hint, and co-ords, the cache was quickly found, signed and replaced. Love the ingenuity of the chain to keep it all securely in place, TFTC
