Dropped by to check this one out again, but sadly after a lengthy rummage it was nowhere to be found. Certainly not where I'd found it previously.
After an early start this morning and then a flight from Auckland we were really looking forward to a weekend of caching in our old stomping ground.
By coincidence we caught up with some caching friends at a cache in Mosgiel so we continue our adventures in convoy.
Took a little bit of searching but finally located TFTC.

On a road trip around South Island. We started from Christchurch yesterday late evening. After driving through the night we managed to pick some old caches and have a brief stop over at Omaru geofest. We ran into rosmar at some point and now we are heading for another FTF attempt together. Had no trouble in finding this one. tftc.

Down with harisree for a weekend roadtrip to target some old caches and then ran into rosmar, so decided to team up for some more caches and an FTF. Quickish find here. TFTC
Was a good place to park off the road after turning around here earlier after being tail-gated past Poplar stop cache by a yob. Rain shower had just finished but that made the GZ a dripping wet search every time the wind blew through the oaks lol. There were some luvly trees here in the 'row'. Wheep spent a bit of time here as there were a lot of things associated with the hint. Found the wee box after that stop, think, pounce moment and the goods were soon in hand. Seen the remains?? of the goods shed?? in a burnt heap further back or was just maybe a farmer's dump for scrap. Threw in some swag and grabbed the goods in a new poly after SL. TFTC Jim.
Muddy leg stretch, said howdy to the "big fellas" next door. Grabbed Coin, made a swap, SL and scampered back to vehicle.
Muddy car, two wet muddy cachers dressed in ridgelines and khaki. Yep we look like farmers doing important farm stuff in old railway sidings. Except we're looking for the plastic and the little woman found a box worth dropping a TB into. Back to the car and away to the one we missed. Good parking at the balage off the road for this one. TFTC
Very interesting reading the history in the cache description thanks. Adds a lot of meaning to what seems a random place. Hard to imagine it as described. TFTC #9926
Wet feet getting this one. A quick park and grab on while on my way home from Cromwell. Left Cromwell early today so I had time to stop and get a few caches that I have been past many time and never had time to stop. So TFTC
Stopped at this cache this visit and quickly located the cache without any of the muggles working close by loading bales etc at a pull over are just around the corner, off the SH.
I am en route to central Otago after flying into Dunedin and picking up daughters car left at the airport for me, to look after grand kiddies for a couple of weeks, which will be a great delight as i dont get to see them very often living so far from us, in the North Island.
Thank you for the cache and another smiley face.

Love that old rail network that roamed our country once. Would have never known this particular spot if not for caching tftc
Quick find thanks. So interesting thinking that trains used to run along here. TFTC
Thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way from Milton to Lawrence and Roxburgh.
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

Under track. Had to go through the long grass. Wet again. Hey Ho that's the joys of geocaching . TFTC
Quick find with Chosen1978 on day trip into OF territory. Interesting spot imagining the train going through here.
Logged find with granville86a, beautiful with the leaves on the ground, thanks OF for bringing us to this beautiful location and the history of this place
That is a sad story. I wonder what happened to his family? http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=ODT18740218.2.50&e=-------10--1----0Adam+Johnston+was+Resident+Engineer+of+the+Clutha+railway--

We are currently on holiday in Southland, visiting from Auckland, together with HOLE-IN-ONE2, who is visiting from the UK. Today we decided to tackle a challenge we have been meaning to do for a while and with a big drive planned today thought it would be a good chance to complete it, 50 caches in one day, each cache at least 1km apart from all the others! This was indeed a whistle stop as the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC

quick find on a sunny morning - and a small rabbit watching about 1m from cahce, pretending to not be there
found it in between rain showers on the way back from the dunedin mega event. i suspect we weren't the only ones that day as there was a good freshly worn path to the cache tftc!
Found with Emvy_us on day five of our southern tiki tour while attending the Dunedin Mega. TFTC
Another great find on the Emvy_Us / Waiiti20 mega tour of the Southern South Island. TFTC
So this was Day Three of my NZ trip on route to the Mega Event.
We had a very slow start to the day, taking in breakfast at a local bakery
before collecting a few Caches in some very interesting locations around Alexandra.
Now on route to Dunedin we pulled off the main road to look at a few specific caches.
We chose this one as it was on our route and did not pose too much difficulty on arrival.
fair bit of rubbish and debris around, but did not interfere with finding the cache.
Cheers for bringing us here,

After arriving quite late into Alexandra last night and then being up until 2am logging and chatting it was a much slower start for the West Australians today.
Heading now towards Dunedin for the Mega.
An interesting, if not terrifying drive for us today. With the temperature getting down to 4degrees and being in a very windy stretch of road during 20minutes of hail it is a day we won't be forgetting in a hurry.
The road has been very busy today and we have missed a few caches that we thought we might stop at as there has been nowhere to pull over. No such problems here.
Another quick grab as we make our dash into Dunedin. Running late now.

Found on the trip to the NZ mega with Sam walkers. Got to this one and can say not much room to pull off. I would pull off on the side road and then walk down. Not like us. As we got beeped by someone while trying to find the cache. Made a quick find using the hint TFTC
No sign of any engines today. Cache number #12 in the South Island while on my way to the Mega event. Kept on track by a bit of a geotrail. TFTCSL
recycling in action spied near the cache. Great to see old rail relics getting new life, in a supporting role!
TFTC. warning for others : learn from my mistake. THE FENCE IS ELECTRIC! haha got a BIG fright lol
I've driven past this area so many times but never knew just how pretty the area was. The avenue of trees was just lovely. Thanks Onslow Fisherman for this series of rail caches, we have been enjoying them all.
Autumn leaves lay thick on the ground where once train engines huffed and puffed. It was an easy find but it made us make time to reflect on the past and how it was here long ago.
The local farmer seems to be making good use of the level area here.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Another quick one, until little one wanted a to stretch her logs on the silage... cheers
Road trip home after Mama's duathalon in Queenstown. Another nice quick find by Papa - who is finding all this railway information very interesting. Sadly Guwapo - our resident railway expert - was sound asleep in the CacheMobile. Salamat!
Last of the train series for the day, a great theme and I thoroughly enjoyed them all, each with their own little snippet of what was once a much bigger picture of an important link in the lives of the earlier pioneers in the district.
Many thanks for all the placements Onslow Fishermman [^]
