Im having a couple of weeks off and Im spending the first few days down in the South of Tassie to find 8 different types, 25 of one type and also any LGAs that I come across to help fulfil a few of the challenges that Im working on.Im also trying to keep my small streak going so I can hopefully beat my last streak total of 67 days.I did all of the waypoints and eventually had a set of coords that looked ok and off I went.Arrived at GZ and had a good look around.Used a PAF and they told me I was in the right spot but I could not locate anything.Messaged the CO as I had a very good idea where it should be.Who knows I might be back one day. Thanks Budgietas TFTC.

That was an enjoyable cache! It was funny finding a cache on a Public Holiday - so many around and still being able to easily grab this cache! Thanks

After an hour of work, and messed up co ordinates, I finally found it. Personally, I wouldn't have rated it a 2 difficulty, but a 3.5.

I visited this cache with OzHockeyChick during our southern Tassie tour.Somehow I managed to miss logging it until I was called for a PAF recently and realised I didnt have a smiley for it.Adding my log now to reflect the find. Thanks Budgietas for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. -The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with RoamingHowie. Day Five: Finish TTSS & SSF, Richmond, New Norfolk and various caches & AdLabs along the way.

We spent quite a bit of time in Richmond, not only caching, but visiting the bakery and puzzle shop. A shame the “Pooseum” was closed.

Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Budgietas

After stopping, learning some history and grabbing some numbers we proceeded to our next point of interest where we did a bit more reading, grabbed some more numbers and then headed off to find the cache.
A beautiful village with some sad history.

We are visiting Australia from Florida, USA for a multi-week vacation which will have us visiting two states in Australia (Tasmania and the ACT) we missed in 2014 followed by 28 days on the Ovation of the Seas including New Zealand and a Transpacific to Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

Today was our fifth day of the trip and with a decent forecast until later in the day we headed to Sorrell and Richmond for a day of caching and sightseeing. We also had our "13 Years of Caching" event scheduled at the Hobart Brewery at 5:30 pm. We had five Multicaches, three Virtual caches, 30+ Unknown caches, two sets of Adventure Lab and even some traditional caches on our to-do list.

This was our second visit to the parking area today, decided to tackle this one and were happy to see the final wasn't that far away. Thanks for a fun multi. tftc!!

I worked my way through this many months ago but with muggles ever where and perhaps a severe case of cache blindness no find was made. Today I was in Richmond early on my way to attend events in Hobart so working through the process to acquire the coordinates a quick find was made. Richmond is certainly a village with a lot of history.

17-Nov-22
I actually tried to find WP2 without having to go the posted coords a while ago and while they did lead us to a sign it wasn’t the right one.

So this one has been sitting unfound on our map for a little while now.
Today we finally got round to visiting the first waypoint and pretty quickly had a set of coords for the second. I think the information I got from googling the answers was right but I got A and B mixed up and almost did the same thing today.
Got to WP2 which was quite close to our original WP2 and calculated the final.
Hardly any muggles around at GZ making it a quick find.

Thanks for the multi Budgietas!

During the multicache i spotted this little plant growing from under the stones, and thought it was pretty amazing how life can still flourish despite not so ideal conditions. Thank you CO for the short but wonderful journey!

Found this cache while on holidays traveling around Tasmania.
Today we're exploring Richmond. After seeing the sights in town we ventured out to do a few of the outlying caches.
It was late in the day when we started this cache. Therefore when we arrived at the finals all the earlier tourists had left, which made finding the cache easy for us.
This was an fun Multi and we enjoyed the drive around collecting the information.

Fun multi, enjoyed Richmond. Tftm!

Our kids are finally old enough to look after themselves for a few days, so with my wife having some holidays coinciding with their school holidays, we took the opportunity for a quick 6 day get away tour of a few carfeully selected areas of Tasmania. We opted for the first night in Richmond, before continuing on to Bruny Island, Hobart and the Tasman Peninsula.

After checking in to our delightful accomodation, we headed off to catch the sunset at Richmond Bridge. We then took an interesting walking/caching tour of town collecting clues for this cache, before making this find and then heading to the nice warm Pub for dinner.

A sneaky little micro, which I missed on my first pass. Many thanks, Budgietas

Spent mothers day in Richmond today. Started with the maze then explored around. There were so many people here. We actually collected the info at WP1 a while ago on a previous trip to Richmond. We quickly gathered the info at WP2 today, and made a quick stealthy find. TFTC

Today we fancied a quiet one, so we drove over to Richmond to visit the Pooseum and explore the town.

I collected the first coordinates whist the geomonsters tucked into chips at the new maze and the second set of coordinates when they were touring the gaol.

It was a short walk to GZ which was thankfully very quiet.

Thanks!!

Out on a geocaching day with RoadieM to get our points for the Reach the Peak challenge. We wandered around Richmond and got the info needed pretty quickly (always easier to do multis with a friend we find). Lots of muggles in Richmond and luckily RoadieM had it spotted as we approached GZ. Thanks for the multi Budgietas and Merry Christmas!

22-Dec-21
tassietan and I set off on a caching day (yet again while the boys had a golfing playdate). hoping to get enough points for Denali.
We wandered around in Richmond wearing our masks, very conscious that this probably was a potential hotspot with so many tourists around.
A very enjoyable multi, and located the cache without too many problems.
Thanks for the multi Budgietas.

Last day of our Tassie holiday before returning to Townsville so I was up before the family to explore a little more.

Nice little multi. Interesting and not too long. Fitting final.

Thanks Budgietas for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Down south from north of the 42 deg. border for a bit of socialising and of course a few (hopefully quite a few) caches ! This is the start for the day. got the necessaries at W.P.1 and moved on to W.P.2 quickly before the weekend crowds arrived. But stupidly walked straight past the information required. Got that sorted, then coffees, then across the road to log the final. Nice work Budgietas. All good here !

23-Oct-21
After our third crossing of the Richmond bridge chasing Adventure lab info and a few other historic bits of info, sat down with some hot chips to work through these questions. With a viable set of coords, finished our chips, donned the rain coats and went out into cold.

Enjoyed the history lesson and this well maintained town, thanks Budgietas for the Richmond temptation.

23-Oct-21
Completed this in conjunction with the Adventure lab, which gave us a great tour of the town and heaps of historic information as well.

There were 2 Multi's left in Richmond for me to find and a Puzzle recently solved, so today, Holiday, Monday the 5th of April 2021, i was eager to grab all 3 [^]

The details were gathered for the WP's and i made it to the final on foot after parking the GeoMobile nearby.

An easy find and sign at 10:20, still drinking my Betta Espresso Iced Coffee, bought nearby on the Easter Holiday, Monday 5 April 2021 Wink

Replaced the cache with no Muggles looking [^]
There's so much interesting history in this awesome, lovely old town Cool

Hi Budgietas,
TFTC,
Was out this way today with the family and remembered finding this pre KingSmev with EeePees. This time I wrote my name in it while the others waited outside the nearby bakery for a good time to go in. After ordering lunch, EeePees got a message to say that Goose and Rat had seen us. I said hi and then headed towards the Richmond Lollie Shop.
Thanks again,
KingSmev

Suscoe woke this morning to steady rain and a cold breeze.
We were heading to Hobart today and we had hope of finding a few caches on our way along the roads that we travelled.
The rain started to clear later in the morning and we ended up having a fine but cold afternoon.
The rain coats were broken out for the first time this trip.

Thanks to Budgietas for this multi, a lovely history was shared here.
We have been here twice beofre, many years ago and it was nice to revisit.

A lovely town, but sadly I think we made a mistake in either the numbers or the maths. So we didn't find a cache at our determined GZ near the jail. Thanks anyway Budgietas. We will try again next time we visit this lovely island!

After beginning with a CITO event at Bellerive Beach, which was a nice opportunity to meet dome local cachers, I spent the remainder of the day travelling around the eastern shore and down the Tasman Peninsula picking up a few caches I had targeted.

I’ve been lucky with the weather, with another fine and warm day. And I’ve enjoyed some great caches, including some pre-solved puzzles, multicaches, a letterbox, a virtual snd some traditionals.

This was one of those “I think I can squeeze just one more in” caches that I completed in the failing light of the evening as I headed back to Hobart. Fortunately it was straightforward and an easy find.

The logsheet is completely full and desperately needs replacement.

Thanks Budgietas for the cache.

Out & about with my friend, Runsis, doing a bit of sightseeing & caching...
I wanted my 9000th cache find to be a memorable...this was the perfect one...we wandered around town then collected the numbers for the coordinates before heading to GZ... We found the nice little surprise...
Thanks for showing us around this lovely Historic Town, Budgietas Smile

What a lovely historic town Richmond is I drive through here on my way to work every day and never stop to smell the roses so thanks to geo caching I now have gained some Richmond history TFTC . PS Could not write in log as it is full

Really enjoyed working my way through this one thank you Budgietas. Easy to retrieve log even though plenty of muggles around. Log very full so just signed it MF and dated. Sorry did not have a spare log with me.

A great little multi around Richmond, this cleans up all of Richmond for me.

Today I got mum our and took her caching, after missing some caches in Richmond the other week with JLROCKSTAR I thought we would come back down and clean up the area. A nice couple of multis and a great walking trail was thoroughly enjoy with some local ice cream at the end. Total of 21 finds with no DNFs.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 5000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 70 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks Budgietas for this multi hide. Nice history lesson on dates of historic significance to this quaint little village. Easily gleaned the information and worked out the GZ coordinates, then went to the Lolly shop of course ha ha....

Little one and I headed to one of my favourite towns in the area today to soak up some sun and finally do some caching here. Not much sun happening but at least got to stroll around this beautiful little village. While doing this cache and being as touristy as possible I felt closely watched by the police. It seems every station I rocked up they were there too. Oh well maybe a local cacher having a bit of fun at work? Hehehehe. Anyways thanks for the cache and the little history tour through town.

12-Jul-18
Yay! This cache was fun. I like it because its educational and easy to not look suspicious. Now off to the newly opened pooseum!

Very nice multicache and a clever hide. Many thanks.

In Richmond for the day to get a few caches. Thanks for the tout of town. TFTC

03-Apr-18
I do love visiting Richmond Smile
Just 'cos there is so much history to explore Big Grin
And the bypass keeps the trucks out of towne Smile

Except for while I was chasing this cache.
The semi delivering stuff for the local supermercado got stuck at the carpark entry Razz
Seems the airbrakes had locked on and couldn't be released Big Grin
So traffic chaos ensued while the truck blocked half the main street for an hour Big Grin

Aside from that distraction,
this cache was a great stroll to visit a few bits of classic Richmond history,
with a noice and easy cache find at the end,
while all the muggles were distracted by the cop cars arriving to direct traffic [^]

TFTC.

Find #1968
We are visiting Hobart for the weekend on board the 'Ovation of the Seas', and have been caching wherever our adventures take us, and taking notes for our future visits to this great place.
My wife made plans to take the kids to Zoo Doo, so we decided to concentrate our afternoons efforts in Richmond. This was an enjoyable multi, nicely set out questions and formulae to move from WP to WP. There was a lot of activity around WP3 and GZ, so we used the hint early on to limit our search. We found the cache quickly at GZ, and had a little rest in the shade before heading off.... TFTC Budgietas

A 2 week trip to Tasmania to see what we can see in that time and grab a some caches along the way. This is our first trip to Tassie so we have been looking forward to see as many of the places friends have recommended as possible plus seeking out a few of the special Tassie caches Wink and drop a few of our pathtags as we go. We are sure we will enjoy what ever we see and find. Big Grin

Day 3 - Mona, Richmond, Taranna
We did this one last and ended up revisiting places we had been earlier in the day - which wasn't really a problem at all Wink

Thanks for the cache Budgietas [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry Cool.

Greetings from Western Australia

This was find # 5 of 10 Smile and 0 Sad today giving us a total cache count of 3477.

We spent the end of 2017 and the first couple of weeks of 2018 travelling in a camper van around Tasmania, finding plenty of caches along the way!

A perfect multi! We'd been relieved to leave our camper at the camp ground and walk rather than drive in the nasty wind. Our walk back into town took us past the starting point and so we collected the information, calculated coordinates, and continued on. The wind died down while we were admiring Richmond's bridge and we detoured to the final waypoint before heading to dinner. GeoKids mucking around make excellent and less suspicious cache retrievals possible, and we employed them in this case.

Log signed and all replaced as found. A favourite point awarded.

TFTC!

I was almost blown off the planet today with the wind however a quick run around Richmond collecting the information had me safely at the final location. Log in hand, a quick shelter in the car to sign (in case it blew away), and cache safely returned. All in a days work. TFTC

Thought this one was gonna be based in the miniature village. So after lunch and wandering around town, we made our way to the little village. Hmmmm still 250m away. Followed the GPSr & plugged in the numbers. Now we can go to the miniature village. Nope!! It's past that. Right next to where we were earlier in the day. Not even GZ was at the village?! So we started to head to GZ, but when we were due to turn right, the Pokemon hunter in the back seat wanted to go left. So left we went. Took down the gym, visited the miniature village and wood shop (including a working wooden padlock) then walked up to GZ to log the find. TFTC.

Despite some dodgy maths and one false WP (which was by the bridge and beautiful, so no problem haha) the cache was found. A great walk through a beautiful town. All caches in Richmond have now been found by us, since a DNF in 2010. Phew. Cache and log in good condition. TNLNSL TFTC Smile

04-Feb-17
Had completed the first steps of this multi on a previous visit with the multi, but had not had an opportunity to get to GZ and locate the cache on that today. Today visited with EeePees and this little container was quickly spotted and retrieved by jnr ep. Log was extracted, signed and returned, and cache replaced on a lovely sunny afternoon. Thanks for the cache Budgietas.

Hi Budgietas, thanks for this enjoyable and informative multi. Had visited the 1st 2 WPs, and caclulated GZ coords last month, while here for a family birthday afternoon tea, but time and other factors meant I didnt actually make it to GZ, and the chance to search for a couple of others also slipped by.
Back in town today with jnr ep; accompanied by Lil Rafa.
Jnr ep was too quick, "got it!".
It's warming up, so sat under a nice shady tree for the 'business', before moving on.
Thanks for the adventure.
