tmann421 and I are on our way south to attend the MEGA, picking up a few caches on the way.We enjoyed all the caches found and thank the cache owners for their efforts in maintaining these for us to findLog signed tm/ww NZBit of a search here but finally locatedTFTC
What a cool area out here! Definitely keen to come back another day with more time and we can go out to the other cache and have a look around. Today the focus was to find as many caches as possible that I need for the minutes challenges I am working on. Thanks for the cache and for bringing us out here.
This one took a bit of searching! Lovely spot for a picnic. With reshamfiriri. TFTC
Heading to Chch for a wedding tomorrow and taking our time to travel up today. Spent a bit of time searching and was about to walk away when we had one more look!! Tftc
Heading south for a wee Easter school family holiday.
Ducked in for a quick find and sign. Cool spot. Thanks.

Searched high and low. Started at the obvious post and widened the search from there. No luck. Must be well hidden!
Out driving the back roads of Waimate seeking smilies. Didn't happen here though. Searched all bases of things till my 10 minutes of allocated time was up. The base of what? There has been recent gardening here.
Nice place to park. Nice vista. Jude_E and I are on another road trip. We stayed in Dunedin and Oamaru. Last night we stayed in Waimate .Thanks for hiding this cache erninz I appreciate it.
Stopped for a breather and stretch the leg and allow the four wagging tails to sniff new smells... Lovely area, never knew it here... Will be good once the information panels are installed. Thanks for the cache
This took us a while, it was a test of observation and perseverance. Like another recent finder we were taken to a sign post but that wasn't working. Searched wider and wider, then came back nearer GZ and explored the area more thoroughly to find it. Nicely done erninz and the contents are in good condition.
There had apparently been a bit of work here recently, and my GPS was certain that GZ was the base of a post. That made me thing it had been tidied up, and the cache was MIA.
I then widened the search, and after checking across the road, went the other way, and finally spotted the very clever camo. Nice one. Thanks.

What a lovely sight! thanks so much for placing a cache here. LOADS of Pukeko around. Very good hide. Found with coconuts3 on the way to Oamaru. TFTC a fav.
On a little GC holiday with busy paws. We had never been down here and were surprised how large the lagoon was and a huge amount of lovely pukeko's. The cache hide was so clever and we signed the log CC3BP. Thanks for this cache erninz.
Passed this turn off many times, today we had a reason to have look around. Although we didn't find cache (due to new landscaping) it was good for a wander around.
Didn’t spend long here especially after seeing recent DNF logs. There has been some very recent landscaping done in DZ. Nice spot though
Gz was in the middle of long grass at top of hill, so read logs and went 1m east. Still nothing. Checked new photo and found that spot 23m away. No luck there either. Gave up. Would be helpful if coords for gz took you to spot, lots of satellite coverage here.
Found with StreetWalker on our Queens birthday weekend trip down south.
As I drove down the road, SW read a past log about having to back the car all the way back to SH1 as the grass was too muddy to turn around on, so was a bit apprehensive about what we'd find. All good, was able to turn the car around fine.
Didn't realise this body of water was here, so thanks for bringing me here and TFTC.

#15660. I thought we might find the area overrun with duck hunters, but we didn't see anyone. Took longer to find than it should have (the covering stone was hard to spot in the long grass). TFTC.
After a lovely weekend in Timaru it was time to head home with a few caching stops along the way. Took a few minutes to find this one and then the fun began! Grass was awfully muddy which made for nowhere to turn car around. Reversed the whole way back to highway trying to avoid the bumps! TFTC
Moved cache about 1m east as it was now at the base of nothing!!! Farmer has been busy redeveloping!!!
Tried the likely spots first and came up empty handed so back to searching and found it in the end tftc I never knew there was a lake here
A lizard and numerous slayers weren't too happy to be disturbed! Quick find a little further away than the gps was telling me. Tftc
Off the beaten track but here I am thinking how lucky I am to have somewhere to turn around TFTC
Surprised to have someone follow us down this road, but they continued on when we stopped for the cache. GPS was a bit out and had us searching in the wrong spot. Expanded the search area and then a very quick find. tftc
The second weekend of planned caching trips for Chelzea and I. This one started caching near Temuka and then on down to Timaru, Oamaru over Danseys Pass and then back to ChCh from Palmerston the next day. Long and winding trip in places but managed a good number of caches with only a few DNF's. Too many to remember in detail so sorry for the cut and paste logs but thanks to all the owners it was a great two days of searching new places for a good variety of caches.
It's nearly 4 years since we first tried to find this cache, and failed, but we finally returned today, when it was a quick easy find. TFTC
Here I am, still locating caches in the Waimate District and having a ball.
The log was full so replaced it with a new one.
Cheers for the cache.

Decided to add one more on our way home, nice little seat here although view not the best today (lagoon looked a bit grey)

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #276 for the day.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the number two hundred and seventy sixth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great scenery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip. Signed logs as HOAC to save room
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
Thanks for bringing us here and placing caches for us to find

You know that "finds by hidden day" grid on the project-gc website? Turns out that 25 May was the only date missing and this was the closest cache to home hidden on that day- a good reason to duck in on our way north to the Mega!
Ducked down the road to get this one on the way to the MEGA.11:30 am. Thanks erninz
Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip!

My birthday day, but also needed to be driving down to Dunedin to attend a Crossfit Competition day after.
So spent half my b day at work, and the other half driving - but it totally wasn't as bad as everyone thought that sounded!
It meant that I got to spend ages caching on the road on the way down to dunners, and I also got to announce the venue of the next NZ mega in the morning.
This was the first cache of me wee trip down.
Some weird guy just sitting in his car at GZ, but eventually after seeing I wasn't going to go away, he did
Then the find was easy.

Tricky to find based on GPS location needed to look further afield at other obvious features
I didn't realise that this was an actual road and nearly missed it on our way past. It looks like a great spot for duck shooting - there were plenty of ducks around today. TFTC
Nice to catch up with my rallies and good to see so many survived the shooting season.
We enjoyed the day caching in this area
Tftfun
So many caches done to remember all, but got a kick out of all that we found (0ver 600 in 8 days)

We pulled into the Narrow Road only to be confronted by a Vehicle heading out,so we stopped him and asked if was there a turn around,as we were dragging our Caravan behind us.He asked were we going Fishing so we just said yes.It seemed easier than trying to explain.Lol TFTH
Was definitely not planning to be here today, but what a great place to be!! Took geokitten for a bit of a walk and caching expedition and she had a ball. TFTC!!!
strong winds and very rough water. Glad that we are not in for a paddling tour. But took awhile to locate the cache. TFTC

As we popped back out on to the SH from collecting 65, Mrs Geckoh was horrified when we started heading back towards Oamaru when we were supposed to be heading to CHCH. 'Don't worry dear' said Mr Geckoh, 'we will just duck in and duck out'. Luckily we did just that or Mr Geckoh would've had to duck the telephone book!! TFTC

Wondered just where I was ducking to. Checked the two obvious places first then found in the third. Thanks for the replacement. TFTC #4303
We’d been down here before, so knew where to go, but despite an extensive search, we didn’t succeed in finding the cache.
4195. We had trouble finding the road when looking for a previous cache down here but today we knew exactly where to go. No-one around and a quick find.
Thanks
