Was going to replace this one - even gathered the raw materials, but have since decided it just isn't a nice spot to search in for such a camouflaged cache (it's actually considerably more rubbishy now than when the cache was originally placed). Sorry folks.

I suspect it actually still is there, but that a combination of cache-creep and very good disguise has rendered it unfindable, even by the cache owner Sad. A replacement will be constructed and reinstalled some time soon.

Out bike riding with the kids. The jungle got the better of us, and gave up after 15 mins of looking.

Yeah, what a bitch eh!
Know the feeling , well -;)

Suggest a check of the cache?

Back for a second look. Another DNF.
Won't be coming back until the owner can confirm it's still there.

We were bamboozled by this one Sad.

This one was obviously a challenging one. Will try again another time.

Concentrating as I was on a new survey map at the time, I almost missed the alert about this anomaly. I was ensconced at the offices of the Royal Cartographic Society in Newton, Auckland, when we received an urgent telegram from the Home Office about an anomaly that had been detected very close to our offices. So close it was, in fact, that I wouldn't even need to travel by bicycle, let alone aboard the Airship Halberg. The anomaly was easily within walking distance of the RCS offices. I made my way to the coordinates and there entered a bamboo jungle. I searched for about 30 minutes amongst piles of rubble and detritus, with bamboo shoots growing all through it, but could not find any sign of a temporal anomaly here. An inquisitive citizen, possibly from a local establishment, inquired as to what I was looking for. I assured him that everything was quite fine, and that I was just searching for a lost geodetic survey marker. He seemed to accept this explanation and continued on his way.

Very well crafted cache. Glad I did this one in the day time as this would be really difficult at night time. So many places it could have been so really happy this one only took a minute. TFTC

Tried a late night search in the jungle.
Torch light didn't make it easier (only the parking)

The caching gang moved down the hill to this small jungle. It sure is a jungle out there, full of all sorts of crap...another paf and this time I managed to make the find. Thanks for this also!

Argued with TWS that he was wrong and it was in the used nappies, but he didnt want to look there, meanwhile ishoot made the find. Thanks.

Needed to use the Jungle Drums to help the gang find the cache. Another well camoed hide.

I had been here before, but been unlucky...
I thought I knew what I was looking for, but couldn't spot it. So I thought it had to be differently hidden. However at the recent event I was told I was right in what I had been searching for...
So, with this knowledge I returned, and still was empty handed. I searched everywhere I had before, yet all just looked exactly the same as it had before.
I was just leaving, when out of the corner of my eye I spotted something different. I knew at once I'd found it!! Smile
And it had been what I had been looking for, just I happened to strike lucky with the exact angle I looked at this time.
TFTC!! Smile

Took an extended walk on my way home from work today, to collect all these new FMZ caches that have sprung up around the CBD. I was concerned I was in for a difficult search at GZ as I approached the urban jungle. GPS was not much help as it pointed into the grass. Had a quick think and decided on how I would hide a cache in this context. With a clear picture in my mind it was time to knucle down and perform the search. Slowly, I expanded the search grid, but didn't find it on the first pass. Started again, while grumbling to myself about the choice of this GZ, and soon spotted it on this pass. Nice effort with the camo here. Was not that bad in the end. Cheers for the cache!

Looked, and looked, but there just seemed to be too many places, so I will be back with my friend. More brains make life easier.

Last find for the day, We will give 10cc the credit on this one, we had heard from Geomatt that he had DNF'd it earlier due to lack of time so we were prepared for a search, head lamps on bums up we searched every inch of GZ, obviously missed it as 10cc came for a second visit for the night and he soon had it in hand, Stu had it easy, he must be the king of timing, we did see what we believed to be his ute at Ponsonby.

This one posted just after the waitress had taken my order at the other end of Ponsonby rd. Decided it would be polite to finish the meal before heading off. Arrived at GZ in time for a informal mini event. great to meet up with you all. Great little hide. TFTC

We left the Little House in the Hollow in convoy with Geckoh, and headed for the Jungle. This one took a lot more searching - may be easier in daylight. After a while 10centcoin turned up, and after further searching he laid his hands on the cache for a three-way First to Find. Stu4 arrived soon after. Nice to catch up with you guys again.

Driving over the harbour bridge on my way to work when the email popped up, decide to make a slight detour hoping for a quick ftf with only 10 minutes to search before I had to get to work, I was unable to locate the cache. Thanks for the short hunt I will be back.
