Love how this cache is so out in the open and has been for years! Cool LARGE container. Thanks.
Suscoe dropped by this morning to check on the container and to drop off a TB Talia's Bird "Blu"All good this morning.
Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Twelve: Geelong and Queenscliff(e).Weather: perfect for geocaching. Not knowing my way around Geelong, I thought that this would be a doddle - pull over on the side of the A10 and sign the log. A bit of rethinking was required, but I got to the right spot in the end. I cant imagine what the box was originally used for - has this cache ever been underwater? Quite a few dog owners around when I made the find, but they couldnt see me because of the concrete. I didnt use the stamp, but I discovered all of the TBs, dropped one and took one too. Thanks for this letterbox cache Bushfire and Suscoe.
Today I am heading to Geelong to catch the Spirit of Tasmania. I have planned a week excursion to hopefully pick up quite a few LGAs. There is one particular type of cache that I would like to fulfil a personal challenge, but I am targeting one nearer Geelong as I am curious as to why it has so many FPs.Well this is the cache that I really wanted and now I can understand why it hasso many FPs. In fact it has one more now. The cache is so brazenly obvious but so brilliantly designed and placed. TFTC Suscoe Log has been signed.
Suscoe has replaced the lock. All good to go now.Dropped off a Bunny TB from SA as well.
Had a trackable I have been holding onto for awhile to drop off and thought this would be the perfect place to take it. Nice quick find but had plenty of muggles around so stealth was required.
Suscoe dropped by on a sunny and cold morning. We left a TB that we collected from a cache in the Mildura Paddle Steamer GeoArt.All good here this morning.
Dropping off Trackables:- TBA72XQ Reach the Peak Tag - Mt Everest- TB61QH1 Cpt. Sharky Watson- TB8DXX7 Cody Maverick- TB4X0FN Flag of Yemen TB
Last full day of my trip. Only doing half a day as got some other things I need to do.
Insert happy dance here*Loving the real in your face letter box. I couldnt be any more happier! I didnt take the TB as I wont be going to a Cito anytime soon as I have flown in from WA. Cheers!
Suscoe dropped by here this afternoon with a TB from our trip to the Geobash Its a lovely reasonably new one with a CITO theme. Hopefully someone can pick it up and take it to some CITO events.
If you pick up a TB from this cache please make sure that you log that you have taken it. We have two TB's still in the inventory and they have been recently picked up by someone.
Came to pick up one of the two trackables but there were none. Will return to try again another day. TFTC!!
TFTC. Staying at the nearby caravan for a few days and happy to add a smilie to our map
Going to Adelaide for theLeap Day Mega, caching all the way. This cache, why??daily streakfavourite points Stayed near here so stopped to have a look at it. There is some work going on in the dog park so there were tradies vehicles parked here but all the crew were busy inside the enclosure. Picked up the three trackables inside to take to Adelaide Mega.TFTC
Catching up with my dear friend au.fait for some caching shenanigans This was a cache au.fait had previously found but I had not...chasing the large size cache this did not disappoint awesome Left travel bug took travel bug...Fav point awarded
This hide had me intrigued, as for some reason, over the past many years that Ive been coming to Geelong, Ive not seen it on the app at all! So today was the opportunity to come down and locate this seemingly very popular hide! A very apt hide for the type of hide that it is! Certainly very very bold and would never stand a chance of surviving in a location like this where I come from! Was able complete the duties without interruption but resisted the temptation of a Trackable, you just never know what youre getting yourself into!TFTC
Awesome cache in n interesting area. Definitely dont know what this unusual box could be. Thank you for the cache!
Another TB dropped here to continue its journey, Happy Travels to Wings of a Dingo!.
Going for a walk along the river on the last day of the year, we stopped here for a brief visit and to take a couple of TBs on the next leg of their journey.
Letterbox visited with dalerious on our Geelong getaway. What an awesome Letterbox cache. So well made, and jam packed full of goodies .dalerious dropped off 2 TB's and I took one to come travelling with us for a while.Favourite point given Bushfire and Suscoe for a super cache.
Visited with catnap777. It was New Years Long Weekend, and catnap777 & I were off to Geelong for a belated family Christmas Do and a fist full of caches afterwards. We were mainly on the hunt for Virtual caches and Earthcaches for a challenge we are striving for, but I also needed to find a letterbox cache on the 30th of any month to complete another challenge. Mission accomplished. Best letterbox container ever!!! TFTC Bushfire, and thanks for taking it on Suscoe. Everything here is in excellent condition and a perfect place to drop a couple of TBs and pick up one. [^]Fav added.
Suscoe dropped by the GC2X78E Barwon Letterbox today and dropped off another TB. There are quite a few TBs here now so if you are passing by please drop in and pick up one or a few to move on.
Suscoe dropped by here this morning with 4 Travel Bugs that we picked up in Creswick yesterday. One wants to go to the UK and one could head back to the USA if possible.A lovely morning along the river too.
A spontaneous very late after dark micro adventure with loads of hilarity as we made a detour and crept away in the shadows from dodgy looking activity going on under the bridge. But then again, who looks mosts dodgy considering where we were heading at that time of night! Kbucky and I are in Geelong for Christmas events and to make a dint in the long list of solved puzzles and this older Letter Box that has clearly stood the bold test of time. TFTC and the FUN. Another fave for longevity and the fun had.
Our 1st night in Geelong and we were planning our day ahead without even looking at caches nearby. Hhhhm - there is one only 400m away - mind you it was 10.30 but off we went. Think we interrupted suspicious people and came across this amazing letterbox. Giving fave for longevity in a popular place as well as construction. thanks Bushfire, great job placing this cache and thanks to suscoe for ongoing maintenance.
Visiting from Brisbane. We drove along the Great Ocean Road and are now on our way back to Melbourne to fly home in a couple of days. I wanted to get at least one of every cache type in Geelong as this town has sooooo much to offer in the world of caching! This letterbox was near to our accommodation and an easy target to fulfill our goal. Thank you. It is big and satisfying so a fav point from us.
After an email notification earlier we made the quick run here tonight to pick up a TB that M released as a 6yo. 114000+km later it is now back in the hands of an almost 12yo M. Ironically this TB was in London around the same time as us just over a month ago!
With a day in Geelong before catching the ferry back home, we targeted some of the higher fav caches and this one did not disappointTFTC and greetings from Tassie
Very nice location. Letterbox looks like it was used as a Telecom Junction box before it became a cache
This cache is so obvious but it definitely one of my favs!

Suscoe dropped off some Travel Bugs that we picked up in South Australia. Good to have them visit the Geelong region.
TFTC very neat and tidy and the cache guardian enjoyed being upside down for a little
Easy find and amazing spot! Never knew this was here. I have also got my first trackable, gonna get some miles in for it. Pika 12/7/23
Suscoe dropped off two new TBs found out in the far Western District.
There are a few TBs now in residence. If you are passing by please pick one or a few up to continue their journeys.

What a great letterbox hidden in plain sight. I love the fact that it’s out in the open for all to see and walk past, but it’s our little secret. Plenty of swaps and tracks Les there but TNLN. TFTC.
Travel Bug Drop: Dutch Love has been popped in to the Barwon - Letter Box to continue its journey is Australia.
What a wonderfully random box fixture! Can confirm that the lock opened just fine for me. Very happy to claim my first trackable. I promise to look after it!
hey back once again in an attempt to drop off two TBs. The lock would not budge on the second number to unlock the letterbox. Will come back another day once the lock is able to open up again!!
Find 150 for Team DuckNomNom, and our first release of a trackable out into world (travel well little Badger). Busy morning at the dog park, but relatively quiet along the riverside of the pole, so was able to access the cache without muggles noticing. Took me a while to figure out how to get in, but all is well inside. Took a new trackable to accompany us on our next adventures. TFTC Bushfire & Suscoe.
Well there is a new challenge souvenir out for this month and my caching buddy Gemma Sistema hit me up to see if we could have a fun day out and find a few caches to help us hopefully reach the target required.
Today was picked and after throwing a dart at the map Geelong was soon picked out and we then picked a place to meet up and here’s to a fun day out.
I was driving and my navigator was supposed to be navigating but we eventually go into this one in a round about way and I was able to park right near GZ.
Gemma had done it before so she left it to me.
Oh what do I do now Oh read that bit and I was soon adding my name to the log.
A couple of doggos and their human friends in the park but all was good here.
Of course a fav goes out to you for this one
Thanks Bushfire & Suscoe TFTC.

Suscoe dropped by this afternoon and all is good with the Barwon Letterbox. We spotted fresh tyre tracks which we think might have been from fraad112 yesterday
We dropped off a TB we collected in Malvern yesterday. Safe travels.

Thanks so much for placing this letterbox. It was a great first one to find. Beautiful location and structures nearby. Took a card and left a colourful notepad. I also took a trackable and have a perfect place to move it to. Thanks again!
I found this cache first thing this morning as I slowly made my way from Adelaide to the Mega event at Rutherglen.
I found the padlock locked open. It appears that someone has (inadvertently?) re-set the code as I couldn’t open the padlock again using the supplied code and had to leave it as I found it.
Fortunately the contents were all good and I noticed some trackables in it too.
Hopefully the lock issue can be fixed before it is vandalised.
Thanks suscoe for the cache.

Touring Australia and New Zealand with my family. Which includes BeesKnees34, SOB_4M, AlexBN16 and 1MitchG6. We have been enjoying the beautiful landscape and visiting some awesome locations.
Stopping along the way to grab some cool caches. We targeted high favourite, old caches, different cache types and some other caches along our routes.
Thanks to all the cache owners for creating, placing and maintaining these great geocaches!
Very cool! Dropped off a few TBs.

Nice Letterbox, 3 trackables in.
Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explore the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event.
Zusammen mit meiner Lieblingsgeocacherin Milonguera reise ich nach Australien. Über Singapur flogen wir nach Melbourne und von dort wollen wir mit dem Camper den Süden, das rote Zentrum und die Ostküste erkunden.
**Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for showing the location and for hiding the cache. You should come to Berlin in Germany to find a lot of interesting geocaches, visit lost places in the surrounding Brandenburg and meet nice people at many events.
I wish you a lot of fun and great adventures while searching for the next geocache!**
Ich bedanke mich bei suscoe für den Cache, das Zeigen dieses Ortes, das Legen und Pflegen der Dose und den Spaß beim Finden! Thanks for the cache!

I came down to Geelong today to participate in the Geelong’s Annual Christmas celebrations!
I had teamed up with [Ahomburg](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=1ded3729-fe62-40bb-9f5f-fd559e7163b1), [OzHockeyChick](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3905d31b-7479-4873-a3f8-90426f27bceb), and [RoamingHowie](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba) for most of the day to pick up caches around the Geelong area.
However, [OzHockeyChick](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=3905d31b-7479-4873-a3f8-90426f27bceb), and [RoamingHowie](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba) were keen on getting ice cream before the [Geelong's Annual Christmas Dinner (GCA2J7H)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA2J7H) event. Well I needed to find a Letterbox today, as I am trying to qualify for the [WCW - 6 Types every day Challenge (GCA0HZQ)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCA0HZQ)
So we parted ways and I started to look for possible Letterboxes, when I saw this one.
*Wow look at all those favourite points! And a Large! What more could you ask for?!*
So I ended up going over to this one solo. I was able to park fairly near GZ. However, there did appear to be some type of event going on at the nearby building. Luckily I was able to sneak away and not draw any attention to myself.
The dog park was also empty today so by the time I arrived at GZ there wasn't a muggle in site. I searched around looking for a way to open it, when I finally resorted to checking the hint and saw the code.
A lovely large geocache. I am always on the look out for Larges as they seem to be much rarer then other sizes. I had read the previous logs and was nervous this one was going to be complete mud, but luckily the warm weather seems to have dried everything out. The letterbox was in great shape and even three travel bugs inside. I ended up leaving all three inside for the next finder.
Thanks for all the fun today and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The area was slightly muddy, but immediately next to GZ was dry. The cache container was in good shape, nice and sturdy. The internal containers were also in good shape and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

It is very good to see the cache with the most F.P.'s in Geelong is back up and ready to be found afer being submerged by flood waters for some time. A lot of caches along the Barwon have suffered the same fate and the ones that I still have will need inspecting to first of all to see if are they still there and the job of building a new one if they have been washed away. Girt by Reeds was found after being under water for some time but it is back with a new container but as the original was still there I may take it back and swap them over. Many others have not been looked for yet as it is very muddy but we will slowly fix them all up. Gee 3m of water is a lot of water and the tracks along the Barwon are still covered in silt.
Suscoe is happy to enable this cache at last.
It had been underwater twice in the last two months.
We have cleaned out the thick mud in the outer container.
We have put two new containers inside. The area around GZ is pretty dry now.
Happy finding.
Just a reminder for Travel Bug pick ups from this cache, please log that you have picked it up as soon as you can.

Suscoe dropped by today, the area is currently having the flood water pumped out.
We have rescued the contents but it is looking a bit wet and muddy.
We hope that this letterbox will be up and running in the coming weeks.

To get to this guy at the moment you will require waders owing to te depth of water.
The water has been over this guy on previous floods but then the contents were rescued before the water arrived but this time we were too late.

We are disabling this letterbox until after the floods go down. It is inaccessible at the moment.
Grabbed two trackables based on their missions, and left one trackable! a lot of the trackables listed aren’t in the cache, and are lost. Hopefully they come back into play and are located soon.

Needed to find one more cache for the signals labyrinth challenge and was happy to see a letter box cache nearby. Fantastic container and music to listen to whilst signing the log. TFTC
When you are traveling interstate, all your holiday time should be about the caches. I thought that’s what we were here for, and we were, until we came across the 24 hour K-Mart just up the road. Then our holiday became about we needed from a shop at 2 o’clock in the morning. We also briefly contemplated not having any wines so we could see what clientele arrive at the shops in the middle of the night and what they are buying.
This cache piqued our interest with all the FPs it has collected so before wine o’clock we stopped in for some fun. Like any other stupid Queenslander we just assumed it wouldn’t be freezing when the sun was out. We jumped out of the car and realised we needed to get things done quickly before certain parts of us started falling off from frostbite.
Even the lock was feeling the cold and didn’t want to budge without a hot water bottle. We enjoyed the soundtrack as we signed the log. tftc

Suscoe dropped by early this morning to pop 7 TBs in here which had come across the Bay from out Warragul way.
Hope they get picked up soon to continue their respective journeys.
